Clean and warm, directly in town
The cards to use the lift didn't work consistently and the app to unlock the door was annoying
Staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming. We had a private room with ensuite and were very happy with it. The accommodation was convenient for nipping in and out quickly without any interaction with common areas, if you're a couple with an itinerary for example. The lift on your floor takes you directly to the exit. If you did want to meet people there is plenty opportunity with 2 bars on site (one afternoon bar, one evening bar / club open til 4am). Location was the absolute highlight. You're out of your room and on Queen Street in downtown Auckland in 15 seconds. Highly recommend trying this place out.
It had a social vibe, was cheap and central.
The bed was hard and springy, the vent in the bathroom had never been cleaned and the debris was falling out over the toilet. The shower wasn't cleaned and was full of hair from someone shaving and the room had no heating and was super cold.
Staff were lovely and friendly. The location is very central.
There was no shower curtain in the bathroom-the water went everywhere when using the shower. The interior of the rooms need a repaint and a good deep clean. The air conditioning was quite noisy.
The waffle breakfast was delicious and it made the hostel quite a bargain. Plus, the small corner room on my floor was used a lounge room for when you need a quiet, intimate place to relax. You don't find that kind of room in most hostels.
The bathrooms weren't always available when I needed them.
