Hotel Am Wald - Marktredwitz - Building
3
8.2 Excellent (240 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Our hotel is set in a beautiful location on the edge of a forest, overlooking the town of Marktredwitz in the valley below, and is nicely suited to travellers seeking rest and relaxation. Whether you are a business or leisure traveller, this is the ideal place to stay to switch off and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come here and set off on hiking and cycling routes from Marktredwitz, only a short distance from the Fichtelgebirge mountain range and the Czech border.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Shower head not attached to wall. Room was small for two people.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: The bathroom shower set up wasn’t great for an 8 day stay. Pretty cramped. I was frustrated with the parking situation. Many nights there was no parking for me. Traveling alone I was quite unhappy with this, Also, I had no idea which door I should use as the front desk was sometimes open, but often not, which then you had to use antother entrance, Also, it wasn’t clear that breakfast was NOT included, I really only had coffee and I known I would be charged I would have foregone this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quiet location on the edge of a wooded area, and just a short walk into the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our third stay. We were very satisfied again. It is a quiet place and the staff is very friendly. Everything clean. Many thanks to the staff for their willingness to meet our requirements and look forward to next time!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenery, good breakfast, clean and neat rooms, friendly and affordable staff, peace and quiet in the area, ideal for a good night's sleep. Highly recommend.
Cons: I have no objections

Pros: My second stay at this guest house. Very nice! The amazing room that suits our dogs. Staff very pleasant. Breakfast very good. Thank you! We will definitely come back! :-)
Hotel Bairischer Hof - Marktredwitz - Building

7.9 Good (351 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Bairischer Hof in Marktredwitz, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Alexandersbad Castle and Fichtelgebirgs Museum.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location in an historic hotel in the old town
Cons: It was a bit fiddly on arrival. A lot of my booking info had to be re-entered for some reason, which took time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location direct in the Centre, nice staff, comfortable room
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast choices extensive.
Cons: As the building is an historical one, the insulation isn't the best; I could hear the noisy guests in the next room and the room was a bit cold (late November). But this is an historical property, so one shouldn't be too critical!
7.9 Good
Pros: Good parking. Good check-in. Nice room.
Cons: Breakfast just OK. Hot food limited. Slow replenishment of cold food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast Very quiet Clean Very friendly staff Shops and restaurants close by
Cons: Room a bit small but functional Not much comfort
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb. Marktredwitz is a wonderful small city in Bavaria, and the hotel is just in the centre of the city. I had very picturesque view from my window - an old church on the street with medieval architecture. The room was cosy and spacious.
Overview Reviews
This hotel features an oriental-style spa area, a garden with farm animals and free parking. It is next to the train station in Marktredwitz - a small town in the Fichtelgebirge Mountains. The large rooms at the privately-run Meister BÄR HOTEL include a minibar, TV and private bathroom. The Meister BÄR has a restaurant serving creative dishes and a bistro serving small meals. There is also a cocktail bar with conservatory. The Meister BÄR HOTEL’s highlight is the beer garden with adventure playground and farmyard animals. Marktredwitz’s town centre is less than a 5-minute walk from the Meister BÄR HOTEL.
7.9 Good
Pros: superb breakfest, 5 Stars! Silent Location, but still at the train Station. Easy to reach.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good for a one night stay.
Cons: Staff seemed rather unhelpful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: excellent hotel in front of the railway station and a good car park round the back . it is easy to find and just 10 mins to the centre of town . my room was big with a double bed and the bathroom was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly . i had breakfast and dinner during my stay , both were excellent .

With a stay at Soibelmanns Hotel Bad Alexandersbad in Bad Alexandersbad, you'll be a 2-minute walk from Alexandersbad Castle and within a 5-minute drive of Fichtelgebirgs Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 5 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Comfortable Bed, and idyllic surroundings.
Cons: This is meant to be a 4 star property. I assume at a 4 star property that a certain level of service, friendliness and customer care would be maintained. With the exception of a friendly waitress at breakfast and the cleaning staff, the staff in general is unhelpful, unfriendly and seems suspicious of 'foreigners.' which, of course, for a hotel is problematic. To be fair, this seems to run through the entire region, as I experienced similar inability to connect with what the guest needs in restaurants, stations and other service location throughout Wundsiedel/bad Alexandersbad/Markredwitz. An example from this hotel: I wanted to order room service. There were two numbers to call. The first number was never answered. The second number refused to take and order and suggested I call the first number, although I explained there was no one answering. Sadly, I can't recommend this hotel or this region as a travel destination, unless you have to go for some reason, stay away.
6.0 Good
Pros: Ok breakfast and really lovely restaurant staff. Good scrambled eggs and coffee but no fruit selection! The evening meal was very good but make a reservation as full before 19.00. The pool was nice but a little cold. The superior double was comfortable and has more space for kids.
Cons: As the first point of contact, the evening reception staff were very unfriendly, cold and came over as very rude when asking simple questions. I have lived in Germany for seven years so know this can be normal but not intentional, but this was the worst and felt like they just couldn't be bothered and hated their jobs!! No smiles just a very negative feeling from them throughout the whole stay. The hotel atmosphere is ruined by this and should be dealt with, however, the morning receptionists were very nice. Really felt this let down the hotel and our stay which is why we won't stay again. The pool has no shower gel refilled or pool towels on a Sunday which was a pain, even though we caught sight of the pool man walking around. The reception wasn't helpful in providing either, told me to call back in 30 minutes! Rooms have really old style windows so noise comes in from the church bells at 7am, partygoers in the middle of night and traffic! If you're a light sleeper this is a nightmare! Wouldn't recommend getting a standard room on the 2nd floor, there was an awful smell so worth an upgrade. I only recommend this hotel for a stopover, not a holiday break. Not the nicest of towns in the region I feel, on the whole, a bit too residential and not much going on for families. Bayreuth nearby is a good town and Regensburg is very, friendly and very, very beautiful! The old buildings are amazing so recommend here if you have a choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a really good hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Have read several a bit negative reviews of Hotel Alexander Bad. We got a very good room with a large balcony. Excellent beds! Everything fine except wifi. We enjoyed a very good a la carte dinner in the restaurant and a rich breakfast. Much value for our money.
Cons: The wifi connection in our room could be improved.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The view from the my room was lovely
Cons: the hot breakfast was cold despite being under heaters. the wifi dropped out as there was a large party of Chinese in the hotel draining it so working was frustrating. From the outside it looks modern, but the hotel looks tired and could do with modernising
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Classical hotel building, big room, furniture not modern but in very good conditions, extremely comfortable bed, balcony, big flat screen and bathroom refurbished and extreme clean. Super breakfast!!!
Cons: Carpet in the room should be removed
7.1 Good
Cons: There is a problem with internet in Hotel
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly
Cons: The biggest point was the tax for spa for which I thought was a bit much considering had to pay for the children at the same price as the adults. Could off booked a similar hotel nearby for a bit extra but with no spa tax to pay , this would of made the other hotel cheaper.
