We loved everything about it, the food, beer and service was excellent. the room was clean and the location is very good for the Birmingham NEC which was the reason why we stayed at The Old Mill. The pub has loads of character as well. We would definitely stay there again There was nothing that we didn't like about it
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, big rooms. The room could have had a bit more lighting,
Size of room, location of hotel, very comfortable
friendliness of staff also beside river location shower facilities were "tired" and need refurbishing
very quiet and romantic hotel to stay at stairs going to the rooms were very squeaky late at night
The location and setting of the hotel was superb. The room was very spacious and clean. The restaurant had a wonderful ambience and a good selection of food on the menu. Sitting outside, enjoying a drink, on the decking area by the river was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a quiet relaxing break.
Service and Comfort
Staff were very helpful The food, to be avoided at all costs. My partner was served mashed potato that was still frozen.
Staff very friendly and nice bar/restaurant Noisy central heating system
Excellent service from all staff. Excellent food and restaurant facilities. Excellent ambience in bar and restaurant area. Spacious room layout. Free wifi and excellent car parking facilities. Felt safe as a single female guest. External light close to the window and only a thin blind meant that the room remained relatively light all night making it difficult to sleep. Pillows thin, hard and uncomfortable. Shower would not fully turn off and could be heard dripping all night - again making it difficult to sleep.
I myself did not stay, I had booked for one of my bosses, but he came back strongly recommending the hotel for future use. Liked everything
over-pretentious chef. excellent quality, but too nouvel cuisine
Friendly, warm and attentive staff without being intrusive. Qualityof food excellant
pleasant surroundings room smelt of strong disinfectant
pleasent staff and very posh but comfortable hotel
The location Limited menu
Location The plug in the bath in the room got stuck and was unable to drain bath. After reporting this to reception it took far too long for anyone to arrive to fix. This they couldn't do so i had to take a shower in another spare room the following morning. Evening meal room service was poor - quality of food very disppointing and very expensive for what it was!. Overall there was very little feeling of any welcome from staff and politeness was not something they adhered to. Hardly any appology for inconveinec with room
Bed was gorgeous and the grounds & setting very smart, but relaxed not applicable
Relaxing, Comfortable very well looked after, Very good food on both nights stayed. Hotel was fairly empty as booking covered the early part of the week
Excellent rooms and facilities. The restaurant was particularly good.
The friendliness of the staff
Reception and dining room staff were friendly and helpful. This is 2nd time I have stayed as it's convenient for the NEC. It's quiet, easy access to M42, Birmingham airport. I shall stay again.
Nice breakfast and the hotel was clean The bed matress needed to be changed as we both kept rolling to the center of it over night. The bathroom was very clean but I found the tops of the bedroom furniture were dusty.
Very friendly welcome - in fact all staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. A very minor quibble is that the bar didn't open until 6.30. The TV was very small but otherwise, no negatives.
Convenience of position Bed not comfortable
quality of food in the restuarant
The location was perfect for the NEC The temperature of the hotel, the room was very hot even when we turned the radiator off in the bedroom, we could not regulate the bathroom radiator. It was a bit uncomfortable
Superb room and facilities, would recommend the restaurant.
Meal was very good Thin walled rooms, noisy when there are a lot of people staying
Excellent food, helpful staff Rooms were tired, poorly maintained, and in need of a refurb.
very quiet - good access to the west midlands - friendly staff Ironically, no access to a hot breakfast
Great location for Midlands business trips, helpful staff. Its for the independant guest and perfectly suits our needs.
The Limes provided us with a relaxed stay, a perfect room and a gorgeous breakfast. We will be definately staying there again.
friendly atmosphere no
Fresh milk provided Website didn't make it clear that you needed to prebook continental breakfast. Hospitality basket had not been replenished from previous occupant so had to seek out someone for coffee etc. Was provided with cereal and milk for no charge as basket had not been replenished.Shower rather grimy.
The room was lovely and light and had a lot of facilities Staff were all lovely and helpful too Small refund made for staff entering my room while I was still in bed! No wifi which was advertised and a reason why I book hotels Tv reception terrible, most channels pixelated so badly you could not watch them Male staff walked in while I was in bed (on my own) apologised and left. Was a shock to me and he should have known I hadn't checked out.
Primarily its location. It was very quiet at night thereby ensuring a good night's sleep. The Limes is very dated and needs a bit of a refurb. Our room was far from clean.
Breakfast in our room no
Comfortable and well-equipped room. Ample and healthy breakfast. Easy to find. Easy parking.
Peace and quiet of rural location Lack of staff and open reception on arrival.
Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast, very healthy.
We stayed here when dropping our son off at Warwick Uni. Very convenient for uni, and nice part of the world. Hotel is small but rooms are clean and well designed and restaurant is good. Particularly found the staff professional and relaxed. A good team. We have already booked our return.
The hotel is ideally situated for my needs. It is pleasant, comfortable and quiet. Only a small point but it would be nice to be able to switch off the bedside lamp with a switch on the lamp rather than having to reach through the bedside table and switch off the power from the socket.
Comfortable bed, good breakfast.
Beautiful characteristic building, clean modern bedrooms, polite and helpful staff, great seafood restaurant, very close to Kenilworth Castle, close to many other great bars, restaurants and pubs. I eventually had to leave.
Excellent room, clean, comfortable. Modern but plenty of character. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food, dinner and breakfast. Not enough milk with tea-making kit. Motion detector in bathroom needs to be more sensitive to prevent blackouts. Don't need "muzak" at breakfast!
High quality feel to the room, quality textiles and linen. Excellent bed. Food first class. Will definately stay again. Although my room was beutifully finnished it was rather small - room 26. Brealfast service a little casual.
Great on-site restaurant Parking behind hotel is difficult to find on arrival and has narrow spaces
The superb resraurant with excellent service and value I have none
Absolutely superb idea mixing the hotel with a Loch Fyne restaurant. Excellent evening meal and superb kippers for breakfast. Couldn't believe some people were having bacon and eggs! Can't think of any.
Lobby bar, reception service. No service at breakfast, cold plates, had to ask twice for tea, then had to get own cups, knifed forks ect... Off other tables, in view of waiters who did or said nothing. Room smelt damp and looked a little dated.
No draught beer
We were close to the NEC (attending Crufts) Hotel easy to find, we were made welcome - no charge for our dog, (unlike most hotels/travel lodges). Breakfast delicious and service excellent! Had slight problem with leak on shower attachment (got soaked!) and bath taps a bit strange.
helpfull staff, good food, easy parking no
Food okay Reception - bloody slow. Bar - cold and slow servioce.
Excellent value for money on the price we paid. Plenty of available car parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location to Birmingham and walking distance to Touchwood shopping centre. Good breakfast and leisure centre. Its was cold. Very cold in the corridors and room was cold, as the heating system was not working. Vector heaters had already been given out, but extra blankets were delivered to our room very promptly. Only heating in the room was the bathrooms towel rail.
Good price, in a good location, it had very comfortable beds and pillows, nice fire in the bar. Buffet breakfast not great, the food was served too cold. And the temperature in the bar was too cold also.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff.
Good value at £59 but not if if it was dearer Standards have slipped in last 3 years Breakfast not so good No biscuits in rooms Had the nerve to charge residents to park there!
It's quite, cozy, clean and has all the basics that a traveller needs All was great
Clean, modern, attractive Staff not good at helping, bad language
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was good value for money.
The hotel was easy to fine and ideally situated for visiting the centre of the city. 5 mins walk from the shopping centre, 10 from the Catherdrel. No specifc parking for the hotel, although there was a car park next to the hotel, which the hotel gives you a 10% discount for.
Clean good bed nice space good facilities/good None!
Staff were excellent as was the room itself - Martin was exceptionable - very helpful
Close to City Not much to do in Coventry
Clean, friendly helpful staff, nice bathroom and bed. No Iron.
Excellent total experience all round No bad points at all
Modern, clean, comfortable and efficient staff. Car parking at nearby multi storey car park costing £5-40.
A really pleasant getaway at an affordable price. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. The bar and restarurant are great value with plenty of choice and again is very comfortable.
Clean, tidy, spacious well appointed room, quiet, good breakfast, good pareking, convenient location. Showing limited wear aand tear but not detrimental to the overall experience.
Good value for the money, staff friendly and helpful. Room clean Shower very slow running water.
the location for me was most important for easy to get there and were i was going to
Tissue paper insufficient. Towels not enough for two people, there was only one set
Pleasant firendly and efficient staff - Rooms well laid out with plenty of storage - Heating was on and easy to adjust. Musty smell in corridor and bad smell from the drains in the room on arrival. Disappointed with the Pub as they had run out of 4 items, including what I would refer to as core items (vanilla ice cream & coleslaw) and breakfast could have been hotter.
The pub/restaurant was very good. Good food and cheap too however it was very busy and there was a 45 minute wait for a table in the dining room although you could eat in the bar area. In spite of me reserving specifically a twin room, when we arrived it had been given to someone else and there was only a double room available. Apologies were given but what is the point of a reservation if any requests are ignored by the hotel.
Good parking Musty smell in room Bed too soft and too smallLack of desk area,Missing WI FI instructions, No hair dryer. Very cold cooked breakfast
Room was good, pub next door convenient and good value Room I was in (32?) seemed to be next to heating system, was noisy all night.Would still recommend but be choosy about room. Had problems at checkout as company was paying b&B and i was paying extras. Staff didn't know how to process as not used to checking out in this way.
Very pleasant staff, nothing was too much trouble. Attached pub provides excellent food. Allowed us to remain in the car park after checking out while we visited local area. Our room was nicely furnished with a double and a single bed. (Family room but used for two people, at no extra cost) Nothing really bad to mention, although the handbasin plug was missing, but this was easily resolved. No hair dryer in the room, but one is avalable to use. We took our own.
Warm welcome, inviting entrance and cosy reception area
The room was a fair size, everything was spotless, the furnishings were tasteful and good quality, staff were pleasant but not intrusive. Breakfast was tasty. It's a shame that the reception area, right by the front door, was small and had to double as the lounge.
fresh milk and water for the tea/coffee from fridge Very friendly and helpful owners Superb breakfast
Lovely comfortable room, clean hotel and good breakfast. Very good idea to have a small communal fridge with fresh milk and bottled water. Friendly, helpful owners. Quiet but excellent location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend tour of Kenilworth Castle. Nothing bad to report.
owners where great everything was spotless the breakfast was beautiful nothing everything was excellent
Victoria Lodge has been decorated beautifully and finished with personal touches that most large hotels fail to manage. I would recommend more people to use Victoria Lodge instead of the larger hotels & made my booking as a corporate stay.
Friendly & attentive staff. None.
Warm welcome and friendly owners. The rooms were very well presented and had comfy beds, large bathrooms and extra touches. The fridge (located on the first floor landing) also provided fresh milk and bottled mineral water which was an added bonus. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will definately return in the future. Nothing.
Convenience to town centre, extremely clean, very friendly. Good size room with bath for the baby.
Extremely clean, very thoughtful and friendly owners - all the little things were there, in the room and at breakfast, catered for vegetarians, very well cooked food - very enjoyable and restful.
Food at night was not very good value. I complained about one meal and did not feel it was taken very seriously. The beds in the room were uncomfortable and the extractor fan did not work in the bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and approachable. Management were not in evidence. The staff need more training, and management need to take control.
Hotel staff gave excellant customer service Bed was not good, and bathroom water system was noisy next door
Service at breakfast very good, as was the food. Beyond the reception area, the hotel appeared very tired.
It provides all that I require for my short stays, good food, comfortable rooms and Wifi access. It is very noisy in the rooms nearest the road.
Lovely Rooms and attentive staff Lack of choice in the restaurant
We felt rushed during the meal in the resturant
warwick castle & breakfast decoration very tatty
The large size bed was very comfortable The lamp in my room was not working and was dangerous. The staff dealt with it promptly though
It was in an ideal location. A lovely outlook into the countryside.
The geography of the hotel with steps and stairs made it difficult to move luggage around. I have a case on wheels like many to save carrying. I thought that email assess in an improved and upgraded hotel was poor only really being available in the common areas.
Ease of booking through this web site The food standards have dropped. Charging for WiFi access which didn't actually work. Pre-authorising my credit card for "added incidentals" which apparently is for "my convenience"
Very clean Very poor service especially in bar
lovely tranquil setting and good standard of facilities and food.
Setting and atmosphere. Very slow bar service. No draught beers or lagers available, apparently sold out. Beer was obtained by the manager after I complained.
I wasnt happy with the first room they provided, but they gave me an upgrade without fuss. the second room was lovely, and the spa was well appointed The standard rooms were small and needed updating.
food / room service was good heating was broken, hairs on the bathroom floor and carpet grubby
The swimming pool facilities were good. The bar service was poor and the size of the meal was poor value for money. There did not appear to be enough staff for the size of the hotel. The record of our booking was not on computer and they blamed the booking company which was very unprofessional. Also wrongly stated I was room only and not bed and breakfast.
easy access to major cities and tourist locations, eg Stratford the bar was unusable as there was a wedding reception and for most of the evening only had one bar man serving, hence very slow service.
Staff reacted well to setbacks. Very nice room (albeit next to car park), but some lights didn't work. Excellent swimming pool. Our room was for disabled people, and had no shower facility and an awkward bathtub. There was no TV remote or tea/coffe making facilities, but staff quickly remedied this. Directions for getting to hotel need to be reviewed.
The room at the Kenilworth was beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. The room (room 1) was situated in the main house and was directly above the bar, even though it was a Saturday night and noisy downstairs in the bar there was only a quiet hum upstairs which we easily slept through. Staff were really friendly and very helpful, they offered superb service. A very enjoyable stay.
The hotel is in an ideal location, very clean, beautifully presented, fabulous service, very modern and has a wonderful cocktail lounge with brilliant staff.
Rooms really well furnished. Bed very comfortable and big (King size). Nice little courtyard area. Wet room bathroom is super all Molton Brown toiletaries. Staff very helpful and welcoming, even bought breakfast to my room. Real 'boutique' accomodation. Highly recommended.
The cocktail bar was great and the choice of cocktails. I also liked the wet room The Walls were very thin and I could hear everything that was going on in the room next to me. Also I didn't like the fact that they didn't do proper food just bar snacks.
Very nice atmosphere in a beautyfully renovated cottages. Good bed and a wonderfull bath. Nice staff.
the lovely welcome from the staff, excellent service.Very comfortable room with nice modern fittings and super bathroom. The continental breakfast was very well laid out and plentiful , newspapers to read etc. Their cocktail bar was very popular with the locals too which was nice to see and again service impeccable. Fabulous boutique hotel, highly recommended. No complaints whatsoever.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, stylish and modern. The bathroom was beautiful. The cocktail bar was an added bonus.
Excellent room and facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Best shower ever! Bed could have been a bit smaller.
A nice find. Good unique comfortable rooms . Will defiantely use this hotel again if in the area. Bathroom in Room 3 was a bit cold though . Radiators need bleeding. Breakfast choice was a bit basic but adequate and good quality. Volume of the music in bar was a bit loud late at night as my room was directly above.
We thought the Kenilworth lived up to & exceeded our expectations of comfort, quality, location & excellent service. The staff could not have been more helpful & provided every assistance when requested. Their down to earth & friendly manner made us feel relaxed & added to the home away from home feeling to this beautiful hotel.
the swimming pool and facilities
Altho very near centre of Coventry, one would have thought you were in the country. Very friendly staff, fantastic Leisure centre and pool, choice of a restaurant or Cellar bar for food & drinks, very reasonably priced.
Good hotel and good clean room and breakfast nice. I was asked for extra £20 pounds when arriving but it said on website all fees and service charges were included in the room charge but I got it sorted out by a member of my party.
We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, it suited all of our needs, and the food was really good, if a little too 'arty' for our tastes.
The Leisure facilities and sauna were superb, very clean, with the staff being most helpful. The pool was really good. The reception staff were also very helpful in sorting out a colleague at their sister hotel nearby
Great hotel and leisure club just wished i'd stayed longer to use them ! comfortable clean beds and towels breakfast was great and lots of it, would certainly stay again.had an event at the Motorcycle Museum which was really close. None
Good environment and nice golf pitch. I found a spider on my bed.
The facilities were ok for the price...ie.Bar / Breakfast. and the hotel is fairly close to the NEC. The hotel staff in the Bar /Front Desk/Restaurant seemed bored and demotivated. There didn't seem to be many people staying at the hotel, so it seemed the were doing 'the minimum'
The swimming pool was very good and the man opened it up especially for me as they had listed the opening times wrong. The restaurant had very little menu choice. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The staff failed to make my wake up call making me late for attendance on our stand at a show at the nec. Not very happy. Was booked for two nights, only stayed the one!
Due to our experience there was nothing to like apart from the view from the room. Bedspread in room 219 had holes. Went to Cellar Bar late pm prior to dinner - bar was full of 'gents' and very rowdy - eventually gave up and went upstairs with our drinks. Went to dinner to discover that myself and friend were the only females in the restaurant. Although only 7.45pm restaurant very loud as golf parties and stag do's in already - as obviously been drinking 'all afternoon' there behaviour was not suitable to being in a restaurant. Menu disappointing as it had half of the choices on it that the web site gave. Food poor quality - only canteen standard as obviously used to being 'churned' out in high volume for golfers and stags. Trouble in Cellar Bar late at night - drunk tried to intice husband into a fight.
staff really not interested in their job, no greeting, no smiling. Downstairs of hotel very shabby. Asked for bar snack menu, told that someone had it. It was a typed list in a plastic sleeve, my grandkids could have produce something more professional and she is only 7!!. Room was ok. glad I was not paying full rate.
If I had read any of the reviews prior to booking this hotel, I would have avoided staying there even if I had been charged nothing. As it was, even the £30. that I paid was an extortionate rate to pay for staying just one night in the place. It is dirty beyond belief, and the "decor"/ facilities belong in a "Grade 1 Listed" museum of typical 50s/60s design - (when thoroughly "deep cleaned"), - not in what anyone should expect of a purportedly "AA 3 STAR" accommodation, No Matter What Price is asked!! See Previous Paragraph.
No restaurant as advertised.
Very little Dinning facilities
Nothing, except from the location. It was the most terrible hotel I have ever being. It needs renovation from scratch. (note: I have visited many many other hotels).
Location Very out dated, and looked unclean, stained and frayed carpets throughout, first room tv not working, trouser press wires hanging out and not working, bathroom dirty and bath enamel comming off, room decor dirty, view out of window filthy flat roof that needed maintenance, dining room frayed carpet and broken dividing cables on mezzanine, Waiter, although pleasent chap absolute hyper ! run run run run everywhere as in a panic.
Quiet and peaceful surrouding It took more than 1/2 day to find an iron and an ironing board when requested for. Also, there was no pressing and laundry facility available at the hotel.
Nice, well-stocked little bar. And the cost - very reasonable The room itself and bathroom were very dirty. My toilet had no toilet roll.
Spacious room. Good location. The general sense of the hotel was 'down at heel'. I sensed it has changed hands and did not feel as well maintained as previous stays. One serious defect was that the cold tap on the bath would not work - I reported this.
conveniant to City Room not cleaned and bed not made up. TV. not working and hotel failed to mend faults. Not dissabled friendly no lifts no ground floor rooms
Good value for money - Nice English check in staff Hotel infrastrcuture looks a bit dated, but then I wouldn't have got if for £50-00 if it had plush surroundings
The hotel was convenient from the motorway network and well signposted. The poor quality of food and general "run down" feeling of fixtures and fittings many of which were not functioning did not make the stay enjoyable.
hotel room very basic, carpet on stairs very drab as if not cleaned, bathroom very cramped, when usingtoilet my knees were up against the shower cabinet, very uncomfortable and limited toiletries, bar very busy with a wedding party so guests had difficulty getting service and seating
food was good tired appearance of room, stains on wall
I found it very cold in the room even with heating on, should of asked for another duvet!
Clean, modern room
The waitress who had a sense of humour! The fire alarm going off at 4am (faulty sensor) THe hotel receptionist (miserable)
Helpfulness of staff A bit out-of-the-way
The staff were excellent and the hotel is excellent value for money. The perfect position for getting to the NEC each day as well.
the bed I had was probably the least comfortable I've slept in, I have stayed at this hotel a number of times before and have had no problems.
the wi-fi, good food, comfortable room, very helpful staff, free carparking and a central position for the agricultural showground squeeky floor boards
The room 004 did not have a window that we could see out of or open to ventilate the room. The bathroom was very small and had no mat in the bath to prevent slipping.
friendly and polite staff room decor and bedding very tired and worn. Food at restuarant poor.
Very good food god, staff very good. Did not replace towels that was taken or tea bags but when asked was given tea bags.
Good kitchen, good location Internet accessibly only with the laptop, not computers available for axes to internet, not information about local restorants
Nice location, great breakfast and staff are friendly Room decor dated and some of the electrical points were broken (h&s officer would love this place!) shower mouldly on the tiles. Very creaky floors and doors also could do with an oil! Parking at rear is poor for residents as the car park also gets used for the open indian resturant on the hotel so coming back late means no space to park.
Location and parking. Welcome from Receptionist. No
Internet access was too expensive. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was a lot of noise transfered from the room above 306. Just creaky floors and hollow ceiling I guess.
Best was the room decor Pokey reception desk under the stairs
The restaurant in the hotel was excellent with a good range of South Indian food that was presented well and which was good value for money. The room was excellent and the staflf could not have been more wecoming.
Very atmospheric - loved the 'Ancient' decor! Much too dark - couldn't see to read in the bedrooms and quite often got lost in the corridors - very confusing in an emergency!
Excellent service from helpful and experienced staff, feature rooms with period furniture were a delight, good choice of food well prepared, and beautiful, well kept gardens.
The atmosphere and surroundings, and also the peace and tranquility
Beautiful old Abbey, with decor consistent with old english style. Staff were exceptional Could do with a better hot water system
It was such a different hotel experince and very intersting from a historical perspective- great price at off peak rates wonderfully quiet, tranquil, excellent food and the staff made you feel very special. A great place to go with a few friends to get away and relax in style. You really need to have a rental car so you can drive around and explore the other areas like Warwick castle
The unique nature of the hotel and the staff who were excellent. It was exceptional value for money as well. I will certainly stay there again
The hotel staff were extremely efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the hotel is an exceptional location and eventhough it was a busy weekend the hotel was peaceful and relaxed.
The setting of this hotel is really special. Located adjacent to a beautiful park with nice walks and woodland it is a great place for spending time relaxing. For me, the darkened medieval atmosphere and interesting decoration is what sets it apart. At £170 for the night, it was the most expensive hotel I've stayed at. But, other than its unique setting and interesting decor, it certainly didn't offer anything else as outstanding as the price. Service was very basic. For instance, no-one to show you to the room, certainly no help to carry your bags. No indication either at check-in or on the paperwork that check-out is 11.00am. Breakfast was included, but as it finished too early for me at 10.00 am this was not sampled. Also, there was pressure to throw me out of the room at 11.00am as this is their (too early) check-out time. Perhaps a visit to the far East for the staff would educate them in the standards that are now expected by international travellers.
My stay was very comfortable and relaxed enhanced by the atmosphere and setting of the abbey's history. Most enjoyable and will visit again when opportunity allows.
The most wonderful hotel we have ever stayed in. Just beautiful. The bill was wrong when first issued. This was corrected very quickly.
The staff were extremely helpful & friendly nothing was to much trouble the matress on my bed was an unbelievable experience just like being in a tree that would not stop moving I am sure all the springs that were covered with a thin piece of cotton were not joined together the whole thing just quivered I was terrified to lay down in case I fell out
Good Value for money untidy car park
Not a lot The reception staff very unfriendly. Unable to charge items to my room as I had a debit card, I had to pay for things as I went along. They could not find a room service menu. The price of a glass of lemonade was £1.35!!!!!!!. Very noisy on the A45. I left a menu card out for my breakfast, instead of my breakfast I received a note telling me the price I paid did not include breakfast, so if I really wanted it, I had to telephone and let them know.
Good value and service
staff were friendly
Easy parking, very clean, friendly staff, The restaurant was very small conscidering the amount of rooms,,as there was a load of coaches the restaurant was working on a shift basis and I was asked to come back later ( I was famished)..I ended up going to the local Harvester about 5 minutes away which was excellent and very cheep...probably better than the restaurant.
The price. Solely the price. There is nothing about this hotel to recommend it. Actually - the barman - really polite and friendly - and proactive at getting sales Check in. The woman saw me walking toward her, and then turned to another member of staff and she asked about some DVDs he was supposed to be getting her. After they finished she turned to me. Despite me introduicing myself, she asked my name for her notes, and then called me Sir throughout, instead of my name. When I called from my room for an iron she said "What?" I asked if she just said "What?" And her reply was "Sorry, didnt hear you." The room s are like staying in an elderly relatives spare room
The bed was comfortable TV was not great and wasn't freeview
not a lot the food in general and the rooms are dated with the bathroom needing acomplete overhall
Affordable, easy to find, clean, quiet
The staff were pleasant and helpful and the evening bar meal was to an acceptable standard. Although clean the room decor was tired and could do with updating. The bathroom was particularliy in need of some work.
I found the rooms clean and well equiped, the staff were very friendly and helpful and it was good value for money, i would come here again.
Good reception on arrival. Facilities in room very good. Slightly shabby appearance on stairway to rooms
Friendly Staff, Pleasant atmosphere, appearance or room and ammenities, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately my room had a unpleasant odour, based on this, I will not be staying at the Campanile again, nor will I be recommending it. Campanile,
The room was simple but had everything we needed
Cheap and clean. Decent bed and had a bath. Wifi was free (but signal was v poor). Kettle stand was broken but still worked. Heating was only just adequate. Pillows were a little too big.
This is one of our favorite hotels. Good beds and baths at a very good price. What more can you ask for???
Though there were few amenities, we did get an alarm clock to wake us, thankfully. The food in the restaurant was okay. Our needs were attended to just fine. We were assigned to a smoking room, ugh. The waitress at dinner did not seem to see that we needed forks etc. to eat with. It happened twice. No elevator. The taxi cost bucks to the airport.
Evening Meal very good value for money, if you like curry. Poor decorative finish to room Carpet in bathroom - very unhygenic Very expensive for standard of hotel Breakfast could be improved
Manager very polite & helpful as I needed to use their facilities to search the internet, also apologised for not being at the hotel on our arrival. No staff on site on arrival- had to telephone & wait 15 minutes. No towels in one bedroom, dirty ashtray in bedroom drawer & broken toilet seat. Shower holder unsafe, water scalding; burnt feet whilst adjusting shower temperature. Shower leaked very badly. Room noisy from traffic & planes, no curtains in room to shut out light from street lighting.Fire alarm system in fault- panel continually beeping! Wallpaper hanging off walls- held up with cellotape- general decor & fittings very poor & old; needing refurbishment.
Friendly and helpful staff a well cooked 'English' breakfast was offered in addition to the 'continental one that we expected from the website information.
Excellent hotel with very good food and very friendly staff
