Price Location Cleanliness Friendly staff
Small rooms Hotel itself could use some updating
Beautiful older hotel: clean, well maintained and updated. Great location: BU, Fenway, Kenmore Square T, Yawkey Light Rail station Friendly staff $10/day coupon for the nice hotel restaurant Great rate via Kayak over Christmas week Really nice suite upgrade with living room and kitchen
My 2nd floor room transmitted a lot of traffic noise from the adjacent Turnpike Nice "Full" kitchen with refrigerator, sink & microwave, but no utensils, plates, cups, silverware or cookware. BYO everything. Very basic fitness room.
Price Location Staff $10 gift card to restaurant
Hallways and rooms were dated Noise from the highway was excessive - no window soundproofing Wifi speed Elevator speed Lack of outlets (especially near the bed)
I selected this hotel for its proximity to places I wanted to see & the fact that it was a historic building. Bathroom was very clean, but awkward. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly enough.
Room was stuffy & AC cooled very slowly. As I was on the 5th floor, they'd screwed the window completely closed, so I was unable to use it for venilation. The paint was peeling off the baseboards. The furniture was old, cheap & veneer was peeling off. Mini-fridge wasn't even on. Carpet was visibly stained & dirty. Walls have not been updated for sound, as I could hear the lady in the other room constantly coughing. Shower could use a rounded curtain rod for more soace, as the tub is mostly likely from the 50's and quite narrow.
The location was great.
Additional unmentioned charges at check in. got to our room and it looked like it was already occupied. got moved to a much smaller room with a much worse view. overall unpleasant experience for the money that we paid. 2/10 would not recommend.
Excellent view of Fenway Park from our room
The toilet and shower in our room wasted a ton of water.
Friendly staff, location, and quaintness of old Boston building/hotel
Wi-fi was available but we repeatedly got message that there were too many users to get on. Small coffee machine in room would have been nice. Bathroom door didn't close properly. A little dingy, but again not bad for the price and location.
I paid 340 each night and it was definitely overpriced.
Great location by Fenway. Staff was very courteous
Room was sparse. A bit dated.
location was great
Very small rooms, can just walk around the bed. decor is mix matched and most look like they came from a garage sale and i haven't seen a tv that old even in a nursing home. If you like a hard mattress then you will be pleased, me not so much. cracks in ceiling and walls. Only 2 bath towels were place in the very odd shaped bathroom with no counter space to put your travel items. Extension cords ran the power to everything and had to dig behind the furniture to be able to plug in our cell phones into one. We got to the hotel late at night and transferred hotels the very next morning. My husband refused to even unpack. Its been over a week now and the refund for the other 4 nights still has not been credited. i understand the hotel is 100plus years old but this is what i picture a sleazy hotel room to look like.
Everything was ok. The hotel close to (T) subway station, you can reach to city center using subway easily.
My room was little bit small and it would be better there is a kettle in the room.
We were given a free upgrade just because! The staff is so nice and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
Room given did not include amenities promised in reservation. Room was litetally the smallest hotel room i have evet seen with view of a brick wall. Exposed pipes on the ceiling. Old tiny 12 inch analog tv. No restaurant coupon. Water on hottest setting in shower/bath was leukwarm at best. Room was not cheap so I expected more or at least what was described in reservation
The location is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! The only time we ha to even take a cab was for the airport. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. We were going to a Red Sox game, so the location was even SWEETER!!!!!
NOTHING to dislike!
staff front desk
not great when you ask for directions, they should know about commuting directions -buses, trains.
Very spacious rooms, Clean
Really need to upgrade the TVs in the rooms
I like this hotel for quick business trips. It is good value for the money. The staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable.
I have been there twice in the past two years & absolutely love it! It's the perfect location right next to Fenway Park (some rooms look down into the field!) & it's right on the T. They have been renovating certain parts each time I go which is nice to see improvements happening & the work is never bothersome. The building is very old & has great character while still feeling luxurious. Also, the restaurant in the lobby has wonderful breakfast at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this to others.
One of the things that has not been renovated in the room I was in last was the kitchenette (suite). I would rather had no fridge or sink than look at that thing. Please take it out! The dirty 80s do not belong in historic Boston!
I thought the staff was extremely friendly and professional.
The rooms were okay,
Staff was cold to talk to, didn't act like they were happy to be at work. Rooms are bare bones and no frills like even a coffee pot. Probably worst of all they didn't have hot water to shower in the morning. Parking was 35.00 per night, just not a good place to stay for the money.
Great location, value and friendly staff!
