Pros: The car was a Mazda 3 which is an excellent auto. It only had a couple thousand miles on it, comfy, great handling, great fuel mileage. The pickup and drop-off were both easy.

Pros: The location of the place where i picked up.
Cons: That I was told by a third party where I reservation the car said even though the credit card was in my husband name and he did not have a driver license I could still be the driver,and two did not tell me there was a $200.00 fee to add on the bill.was not happy the guys name I checked in on Thursday was Rocky.

Car was Ok service not.
Pros: Rental was good. However returning not so much. As the only customer in the store I waited for almost an hour as the associates answered phones and chatted amongst themselves completely ignoring my presence. It was like I was invisible. I got to hear about how much the associate disliked her boyfriend and how the general manager was useless. Next time I'll pay more and go to enterprise. Just an FYI I don't want to know who is dating who in your organization. Last time will ever rent from Hertz.

Good Local Service
Pros: The local staff were very helpful, they provided genuine friendly and efficient service.
Cons: Additional cost of adding my wife as a driver.

Cons: I planned to fill the tank myself but didn't know that there was no gas station at the airport exit. thus I was charged $46 for less than 1/2 tank of gas on a small car. This felt like a 'gotcha' by Hertz. It would be a better practice to tell people that if they're going to fill the tank themselves that they need to do it before the airport exit.

Pros: Customer service a plus!
Cons: When I picked up the vehicle I had to wait a extra 20 minutes for a break light to be replaced and also there were red stuff spilled in the back seats on the floor rug what seems to be red fingernail polish.

Cons: My prepaid car wasn't an airport pick up. I wanted to change to an airport pick up and they could not change the reservation because they had computer problems. It took 30 minutes to tell me that! I left to get a taxi at SYR, no taxis. So I tried to rebook a new reservation and they said I'd have to wait back in a long line again. I booked at National and was out in 5 minutes. I've been a Hertz gold member for year. I'm done with them.

Nice vehicle, great price
Pros: I got a great price on a weekly rental, $199 and some change. When I went to pick it up they offered me a free upgrade to a SUV which I accepted. It was a brand new Jeep Compass which I enjoyed driving very much. I couldn't be happier with the customer service or the vehicle. I would definitely go to Hertz again and would recommend them to family and friends.

Pros: Liked the service and the quick in and out. We also appreciated the unlimited miles. The car was better than we expected for an economy rental and it got 35-40mpg.
Cons: Definitely did not like the radar associated with the cruise control on the Toyota Corolla. We weren't able to use cruise much at all for a 15 hour drive. The cruise also allows you to gain 15mph going down hills which seemed to make a speeding ticket inevitable. If we need a rental for a long trip I will definitely not accept a vehicle with radar on the cruise. Even the Hertz associate said it was terrible.
Pros: Attentive service; offered a substitute full size car because the compact I reserved was not available. Good business hours.
Cons: The drop off-processing took a little longer than I expected. I was glad I was the only one there and didn't have to wait in line.

Left me stranded
Pros: After making the reservation with Kayak, Throfty car rental ended up not having any cars available once I checked in at the counter in Syracuse. It was after 11pm. Luckily I was able to get another car with another rental company but paid a lot more.
Cons: Feel like I can't trust a Kayak car rental reservation

Happy with Thrifty
Pros: The car was ready on time and the staff person completed all the paperwork quickly. The car was nicer than expected. They didn't have the class of car that we reserved so they gave us a free upgrade. We thought we were going to get something like a Toyota Corolla but they gave us a Honda Accord instead.

Pros: Price was okay and woman at check in desk was very nice and efficient.
Cons: Car was full of air freshener. Horrible! Had to drive with windows down in 30 degree weather. Smell got in my clothes and made me feel sick. would have returned but no time to go back out to airport.

Pros: The car was new clean well equipped and very comfortable
Cons: When I returned the car they added a $4.99 per day trip saver fee. I h ad a flat tire and called Thrifty and Joe told me to call AAA. I had to find an exact match of the tire or pay for the tire and pay again to replace it on return. I finally found someone who had a match for the tire over 30 miles away while driving on a donut. I lost a day of traveling time and had an extremely hard time finding a hotel as it was Paris Island Marine Boot Camp Training Graduation weekend. I finally found a room at Country Inn and Suites in Beaufort S.C. (the management there gave us a room with little water pressure but it beat sleeping in the car because we couldn't drive on the spare Thank Goodness for them) So I ask what is the $4.99 per day Trip saver fee when I am told to call my own triple AAA.

Car choice was not as expected.
Pros: The car that I ended up receiving - a Ford Mustang - was excellent, just not what I expected and costing much more than promised. The woman at the counter for both pickup and drop off was very friendly.
Cons: My understanding of the offer we booked was that we would have whatever car they had the most of on hand, expecting a compact or similar. Instead we were offered a 12 passenger van as the only option for the price promised. This does not seem like a reasonable option for a couple on a brief visit to upstate New York. It also would have been ridiculous for us to drive in a funeral processional in a 12-passenger van, but that's neither here nor there.
As an alternative, we were suggested a Ford Mustang at double the rate we had booked. We ended up agreeing on a Ford Focus, at a cost of $100 more than our estimated total. The friendly Thrifty representative offered us the Mustang at the same price, which we accepted.
The experience overall was mediocre. Had we known that only a van would have been made available to us for the agreed upon price, we would have made separate arrangements.
