PSP just off the airport
Pros: The Enterprise service staff were friendly and accommodating and reimbursed the cost of the taxi from the airport. The pick-up and drop off location is NOT at the PSP airport terminal despite the address being Airport Center Dr. The PSP airport terminal rental location is on Tahquitz Way. The ONLY negative was getting a taxi ride from the airport. Understandably, the taxi driver wasn't thrilled at getting a 7$ fare to drive 1/2 mile when he could get $80 to go to a resort, but our cab driver was a royal jerk about it. Thankfully, Enterprise shuttled us to the airport after we returned the car. All in all, a good rental experience.

Pros: It was nice coming out of the hot summer, they were the only car company with a convertible.
Cons: The deceptiveness of their location. The address is on Airport but when the called to confirm they reminded me I would need to take a taxi to pick up the car since there was another Enterprise at the airport which prohibited them from picking up. The car was filthy and all scratched on the outside. No one new how to lower the roof. It was way more of an ordeal than it was worth. I'm a huge Enterprise fan, just not this location.

Cons: Was quoted and purchased on line for $211.00. Upon pick up price went up to $311.00 because you didn't have the car I chose???
Funny! As I delivered to drop off another customer ahead of me was told the same BS story. First and last time for me!!

Pros: The vehicle was great !!! Clean almost brand-new !! The two people that took care of us at the airport in Palm Springs were amazing they went above and beyond to make sure we got our vehicle right there on the spot and honored the other price as opposed to charging us three times as much like the people on the toll-free number want to. Dropping the vehicle off was great to very convenient and very easy.
Cons: When I got to Palm Springs airport at 9 PM and I went to pick up my vehicle I was told that the place closed at 12 PM and then I would have to wait two days Monday to get my vehicle. I went to the enterprise location at the airport and that you people there were wonderful they understand my dilemma they did the right thing and helped us out. If a place as special hours they should let us know straight away so we could make other arrangements. And also not try to charge me more money for the convenience of picking up my vehicle at the airport as opposed to seven minutes away outside the airport

There was no car
Cons: The fact I was on a wait list for 6 hours even tho I was confirmed. Never using enterprise again
Pros: Excellent condition of the minivan I rented. Easy rental and return processes at two different locations. I highly recommend Avis based on this experience.

Not what was expected
Pros: Price was appropriate, especially with the hassle of being an off-airport location.
Cons: Shocked reservation was not at the airport, but at an off-site location. Avis at the airport did not even try to help correct the mix-up. Off-site location was pitiful.

Very poor to start
Pros: When I took the first car back, I was very happy with the replacement
Cons: I stood in a long line at the airport terminal only to be told 40 minutes later when I reached the counter that I had to pick up the car at another location about a mile away and needed to the a cab there. I left my wife and friends at the terminal and took a cab. Took forever to get a car. Didn't have size car I had reserved so my wife and another road with a suitcase in their lap. Old computer system kept crashing and they had to start over several times. Smaller car they gave me was dirty. Still had trash in it plus not cleaned inside or out. I could go on, but this should suffice.

Cons: Reserved vehicle several weeks ago. Arrived at airport Avis counter and was told that they didn't have a reservation for me. After some digging was told that my reservation was at an off-sire location and they closed at 5:00 PM. It was 4:45 at the time. When i made my reservations it wasn't clear from the site of the reservation that mine was for an off site location. I had to reserve a car at the airport at almost twice the costs of my reservation. It should have checked, but Avis could have made it clearer.
Cons: I had a 12 o'clock pickup time at a location that, unknown to me, closed at 12 o'clock. How can that even be possible? And then on top of that when I got there at 11:50 my vehicle wasn't even there and I was forced to wait. Although I was offered a car that just happened to be there and ready at twice the price. I arrived by taxi and never once was it mentioned that a $20 credit/reimbursement might be an option even though I later read that on the website. The employee tried to sell me the insurance by questioning my insurance deductible and trying to convince me that my $500 was most likely $5,500. What a terrible tactic to sell me something I already said I didn't want or need. He also went on to warn me that more accidents happen in Palm Springs than any other California city. Really? Come on! Overall I left feeling dirty and that Hertz tried to take advantage of every in order to get more money out of my pocket.
Cons: 1. The radio worked intermittently.
2. I rented a car from PSP and was then told to pick up my car in Cathedral City. I was then told it would cost more to pickup at PSP.
3. I waited in line for nearly 30 min. because the computer was down.
4. The person at the desk was rude and condescending, he took absolutely no responsibility for the error in rates and blamed it squarely on Kayak.
I will never rent from HERTZ again. this was a horrible experience.

BAIT AND SWITCH, TYPICAL OF THE INDUSTRY
Pros: The agents smiled and were articulate while they attempted to carry on what I am sure are the directives of their managers.
Cons: I DIDN'T GET A CAR BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $125 MORE THAN MY RESERVED RATE. I ENDED UP WALKING OUT AND CARLESS.
I ordered an economy vehicle about an hour before pickup and had a reservation confirmed.
I walked into the store and they told me first that nothing was available. This was disappointing to say the least. I explained that I had foregone a car from the enterprise across the street which closed at 5 because of the rate promised to me (they close at 6).
The kind agent then told me that I could wait for half an hour to see if the last two reservations that were made further in advance showed. I waited because I had already forfeited my other options.
At fifteen minutes after the other reservation, they signaled me to come to the counter and told me I was in luck. However, after taking my ID and credit card, a woman came in and checked in with the other agent (the other reservation). I was told I was out of luck again, but then they advised me they did have one other vehicle available. To my dismay, it was 4 or 5 classes above (but a Kia nonetheless and frankly in my book a kia is always economy). IF I was willing to pay $125 more for my week, then they would make an exception and put me in the vehicle.
I explained that I thought Hertz's policy was to offer a complimentary upgrade to a class above (how ever many it took) if a customer had a reservation in classes below. She told me to hold on while she called her manager. I told her I would even be willing to drive the car back the following day and switch it out for an economy and the agent said her manager would only approve the entire week upgrade (with an up charge no matter what) to drive out with any vehicle.
Because this is not the first time I have had this happen with hertz, I simply refused to pay any more than my reservation price. They refused to honor the reservation. So, I ended up carless until the following day when I booked with enterprise.
Hertz in this area has horrible customer service.. I have been paying out of pocket for rental cars for 12 weeks waiting on my rare vehicle repair. They had an opportunity with me because I walked to their location from my car accident. Misinformation during that rental caused an agent to literally take a car from me when I had been told my rental had been extended and they failed to do so. (I was literally driving a "hot" car for two days.). Then, when I got my bill for that trip, I had been overcharged by almost $500 and had to wait almost three weeks total for the refund.
There is a lot of competition among rental companies these days and I highly recommend enterprise or budget over Hertz any day. This was the last time I will fall for their competitive pricing only to be worked over by commission-hungry agents. I am not the only person that feels this way and I will no longer book these cars for my clients. (Last year I booked over 360 car reservations for my travel clientele.)

Long rental, great car
Pros: We rented the car for 6 weeks! Never did that before but it worked. We struck it lucky and happened to get a brand-new car (7 miles on the odometer when we got it!) and that was a treat. No surprises on the price.
Cons: It took a long long time to sign up and to return the car, because we rented it for so long, 6 weeks. Both times the agent had to turn us over to a specialist agent, and I don't find that surprising, but both times the first agent struggled with the problem for a very long time before turning us over. Also had to move our 6 weeks' worth of luggage from first to second agent, far away in one case.
The reason we had to deal with an agent on our return was that we switched credit cards -- that ought to be quick and easy, surely?

Professional staff, but car was't ready.
Pros: Friendly & professional staff. Fair pricing. Convenient location.
Cons: Even though I had made a reservation, I had to wait 40 minutes for the car to be prepped.
Cons: I got the impression that this was on site and would not involve a shuttle. The shuttle was quick and easy, but not as quick, easy and tip free as those right there in the terminal.

Only open til 7PM
Cons: They called the morning of my flight to confirm my arrival. Told them I arrive at 6:45PM. They said call and they will pick me up. Flight was 20 min late and I call. No answer, no car. Had to wait in line at Palm Springs airport and rent another vehicle.
They did not tell me they close at 7 and it might be iffy on their end. They knew my flight number and scheduled arrival time. Flight landed at 7:05PM and they did not care. They went home.

Honest reliable service and a good price
Pros: Our car was pretty dinged up with scrapes and even what looked like cigarette burns on the seat. The vehicle had close to 40,000 miles on it. We initially didn't see a rock chip on the windshield because it was raining and we thought we would get hassled about it. We did not. They were honest about the chip being there when we picked up the car. The car ran well, the shuttle service to and from the airport was on-time and friendly and the price point for this vehicle was very good. We would use them again.

Pros: Picked us up at the airport and drove us to the rental car pickup right on time. Car was basically brand new and super clean. Staff was friendly. They drove us back to the airport when we dropped the car off. I would totally rent from them again!

The car rental location was closed when we arrived
Cons: We did not get the car as location was closed. We had to get another ride back to the airport from this 'Off-Site' 3rd party car rental place ...not actually an official Budget rental site. We had to go through the rental process from start to finish at the airport. Luckily we were able to get the car we wanted as a 'walkup' to the counter!! I will never book through Kayak again

Cons: When booking this car, I imported airport codes for both the pick-up and drop-off locations for the car. Apparently, when booking with a third party website (like Kayak) you'll just automatically switch the locations for pick-up and drop-off to local rental locations based on price. At pick-up at the Ontario airport, I was alerted that my car was at a Budget 3.5 miles away and we had to go back to the airport and take a cab to the location. At drop-off (when I was in a hurry to catch a flight) I was alerted they could not receive the car because the drop-off was at a Budget 4 miles away. They said they could drive it over there for a $300 fee. Instead I had to rush the car over to the location and take an Uber back to the airport and barely made my flight. They whole situation was extremely stressful and beyond annoying. I will not be booking with you again. If a customer enters AIRPORT CODES for pick-up and drop-off they should clearly be solidified as the only possible place for pick-up and drop-off.

Ignored our complaint that GPS did not work
Pros: Car was OK
Cons: After first day the GPS system, for which we paid a surcharge, stopped working. When I returned the car I asked that the charge be removed from our bill. The clerk at LAX tried for 10 minutes to get the GPS to work and could not. I finally said, "See, that's what the problem is." She said since she couldn't get it to work she couldn't give us a credit. Budget just lost a customer.

Pros: Customer service, value and convenience were all excellent! Pick up/Drop off took no time at all and the exact SUV size was ready & waiting.
Cons: There was a previous drivers trash inside the console. Just an oversight, I'm sure, but still icky.
