Pros: The hotel facilities and environment
Pros: My husband and I had stayed here before a couple years ago, and now that all of our friends have graduated we need a place to stay in Durham. We like the location (running trail and golf).
Cons: this trip the bar staff were kind of rude and stuffy. It used to be a nice place to get drinks, but the waiter was rude. Also, we reserved a King room months in advance, and they gave us 2 double beds. Their response when I said something "well, the rooms are the same price." My husband and I sleep in the same bed at home, and would like to on vacation. Also, housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30am.

Pros: I liked location of the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping in the area, proximity to a highway.
Cons: Not a very well appointed room, no drinks in a mini bar, not even water, unfriendly staff, a very disappointing breakfast experience with poor food selection and self-cleaning obligations after that - a McDonald's level arrangement.
The Marriott name should carry much greater level of service and comfort. For the same money, Hyatt is vastly superior.
Pros: Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and comfortable. Beds were better than ours at home! Seperate water closet and shower area, would be perfect if traveling with family or with multiple groups in your party! Will stay here everytime I visit Durham!
Cons: That I was only able to stay 1 night! Wish I had a longer vacation!

Pros: Great service and friendly staff
Pros: Many common spaces inside and outside on the ground level.
Cons: Indoor pool was very small and only a bit larger than a large hot tub.
Pros: shuttle to Duke was great.
Cons: The shower floor was like a sheet of ice once soap got on it. Very dangerous.
Pros: The hotel has a modern European vibe without the cramped quarters! The accommodations were top-notch and the staff - cream of the crop! I have already recommended this place to friends.
Pros: The staff is very accomodating
Pros: Beautiful, functional suite. Good breakfast.
Cons: Not really - the shower did not impress.
Pros: The staff is very accommodating. The food was great. My kids had fun
Pros: Staff was very friendly.
Cons: Open shower with no door provides no way to keep steam and heat in during bathing.
Pros: The hotel room and location were perfect and the staff was excellent! I have nothing bad to say at all. I'll definitely be back!

Cons: Bathroom upon arriving was not clean; staff were constantly on personal phone calls throughout my stay and I felt like I was the one interrupting when asking a question about the facilities. Cleaning staff was blocking hallways when trying to locate my room and did not move anything out of the way which was an inconvenience to me. Staff were on personal calls in the elevator and openly eating in the bar area. It was strange as there is normally an employee lounge area where the staff does not interact with guests. Staff maintenance door was very close to my room and the door was constantly slamming throughout the night. My stay would have been more enjoyable should the staff had behaved in a more professional manner.
great beds and large room and bathroom
Pros: The staff was helpful and pleasant
Cons: The bath tub had a slow drain
Pros: Wonderful staff on site, good breakfast, large rooms
Cons: Uncontrollable A/C destroyed the experience. I had to turn off climate control as I was freezing and the system would not react to thermostat.

Pros: The hotel was very very busy but still quiet. Also right next to the freeway but amazingly noise free. Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful without exception
Pros: The General Manager provided excellent service.
Pros: staff was stellar and went above and beyond
Cons: All good
Pros: Location ( approximately 10 minutes away from the airport) The pictures that are previewed on the website are the exact if not better in person. I loved this hotel! 24 hour gift shop (which includes snacks). The hotel employee was excellent.
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. It was a beautiful setting whit great food and drinks.
Pros: I have mixed feeling about this hotel. I have stayed here a few times. The staff is great. The pool is also nice and lets not forget the free cookies. The location is also great with many options to eat and lots of parking.
Cons: Hotel is dirty. Room is dusty and housekeeping just does a rushed job. They supposedly cleaned the room but they left no soaps, or coffee stuff, and dirty glassware. My credit card info was also stolen from a vending machine. I expect better.
Pros: My king size bed was awesome, it was so comfortable. Hotel employee at the front desk was very nice & respectful. The lobby is very cozy.
Pros: The landscape and view. As well as the room
Pros: Location, rooms are always excellent

Pros: The room, and staff
Cons: The AC didn't work as well as we wanted but not bad...
Cons: Front desk staff (not all but 1 lady, not once but all the time I had to deal with her) never failed to disappoint me with their rude and awful behavior. I was on a business trip and stayed there for a week. Out of many bad experiences, one of those that made me regret my decision of staying there was front desk's behavior on requesting the water in the room. Her response was " We cannot provide you water in the room". After I said that I was getting it in my room for last 2 days, her response was "Not only you have to come down to take water but you may also have to pay for the water".
Such kind of hospitality in hotel business, unbelievable. It was below average experience even after paying around $750. I will never ever stay at Double Tree anywhere. Not recommended at all.
Pros: Large suite for a very low price. Rooms nicely updated and furnished. Bed was extremely comfortable.

Pros: Everything was modern and fun. The layout of the room was great as we loved the bliss body products.

Pros: Everything about the hotel was nice. Normally I wouldn't stay in such a pricey hotel but all the hotels in the area that weekend had the prices jacked way up so I thought, "might as well get a hotel that's worth that money"
Staff is very friendly and accomodating and it's so close to so much great stuff in town
Cons: The breakfast isn't complimentary so beware. It's totally setup like a free breakfast but then you get the bill for $16... i was kind of shocked by that. I would have eaten somewhere else had I known that
Cons: In need of an update
Pros: From the time I arrived until my departure the staff was the best. All questions were addressed on the spot. They were able to direct me to some of the best eating locations and their restaurant was one of the best I've experienced.
Pros: Location and most of recent improvements were very nice. Staff was beyond helpful! We did not mid the renovations in progress.
Cons: The change to the bathroom doors is a concern. There is very little privacy. We were a group of friends that needed that privacy. The door is a barn-door type and so it is never sealed shut. It's beautiful, but not a good decision for a hotel. In hindsight, we should have gotten two rooms - maybe that is why they put up those doors.

Cons: To be sure coffee is more readily available in the early morning.
Pros: Every staff member I came into contact with was very professional and welcoming even on the way home after checking out. Great shower. Comfortable bedding.
Cons: There seemed to be very little buffer between the rooms or the hallway. I was thankful that the other guests were quiet and my room was down the hall from the atrium overhang. I could clearly hear conversations in the hall.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were nice and clean; a bit noisy for the location but it was graduation weekend.
Cons: My wife wasn't too thrilled about getting a call at 7 AM from the front desk about a leak somewhere. Other than that it was great.
Pros: I loved the location, cleanliness, food and ease of checking in. The bathroom design was awesome.

Pros: It was nice and clean and easy to get to and the room was very modern.
Pros: The shower and rain shower head.
Cons: Jacuzzi tub was closed. This is one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. Loud noise next door the first night, but corrected once I complained. I was comped a breakfast which was nice of the manager to do. No fridge.
Pros: Very accommodating
Cons: The TV remote was a little bit difficult to get it to work right

Cons: Didn't like how they were doing construction work.. there was so much saw dust in the elevators I felt like I was breathing it. Not mentioning my pregnant wife choked from it. The room had such a bad smell to it me and my wife could barley sleep through the night. The breakfast menu was so small and awful I only drank my orange juice and my wife threw away her hash browns. For $275.00 a night a expected something a little more relaxing and comforting.
