helpful staff nothing
stayed 20/11 as was attending a wedding in Edinbrgh from arrival to departure we could not fault the staff in anyway, fantastic customer service. found room no 9 a bit small for £120
I liked the open friendly approach of the staff. The hotel was exceptionally clean nand tidy.
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very handy for both the city centre and Leith. The rugby union fans were a bit rowdy after the Scotland-South Africa match and the decor could do with some updating.
very friendly staff!! execptional service bathroom too small
Period Features and proximity to Central Edinburgh We were given the smallest 2 rooms situated in the roof space.
Nice room, friendly staff, good bar prices, nice restaurant, good breakfast. Short walk to city centre. Decent parking. Overall, great value for money.
Quiet away from the city centre. The bed was horrid. Very uncomfortable to sleep on
The friendly staff willing to go that extra mile to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Especially Gemma at reception who was very helpful indeed in every way. The purpose for my visit was attendng a bast friends wedding. This hotel was fantastic and very good value for money. There was no min night stay which made it even better value from a solos travers point of view it was easy to be there by yourself.
Great value for our money, stayed here two nights on our way out of Scitland wished we stayed here on our way in to Scotland as well. It is an older hotel so done rooms are going to be smaller however some are huge. However the do an outstanding job of utilizing space and the quality of the accommodations and staff were wonderful.
The size and appearance of the room and the four posted bed. Fairly expensive.
Excellent service, friendly staff. Single room was small, but very comfortable. Would happily stay here every time I visit Edinburgh Car park too small - I had to park on side street throughout my stay
The staff were extremely pleasant and we were made very welcome. The room was very nice and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent.
Beautiful room, very large, classical style, high ceiling, and as bonuses a big leather couch and a wide screen television ! Much better than we had expected, we regretted not having one more night to spend there ! None !
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean, breakfast was good and the location was excellent.
Clean, nice atmosphere, excellent internet wi-fi service in guest room, good hospitality of staff None
it was ideal for the city centre good location and had parking
very central, pleasant staff and very confortable accommodation
Staff Outisde road noise
Helpful, friendly staff. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. Good value for money. Room was nice and clean.
It was a very nice b&b, very confortable, well decorated and a spacious bathroom. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast itself was very good.
Very helpful staff, at reception and the girl who cleaned the room. Gave tourist information which is so helpful.
The service was exceptional and the owners were lovely. Had a wonderful time! No.
Location of bus stops for easy, quick and cheap access to Edinburgh. Breakfast room was cosy and cooked breakfast was good. Owners very friendly and helpful. Room had a sky light window, no view.
Clean, friendly. Good food No bath
very friendly and welcoming. beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable and relaxing. excellent breakfast. All in all a fantastic place to stay
Friendly staff, cleanliness and attention to detail Bathroom rather small
The location of the hotel was very central to the city and outlying areas. We liked the casualness and friendly atmosphere. The hotel was clean and the gardens were beautiful. (And, we loved Brachen.)
Good food , clean accomodation Room was cold , information about the hotel was non-existent and proprietor was poor at communication (E.G. we thught he was guest on arrival !) and because heating wasa not on before our arrival we spend the afternoon under the duvet before getting ready to go out in the evening.
A clean and welcoming lodge and an incredibly warm & friendly host. The b&b was a relaxing respite from our busy holiday.
Very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location for a visit to Edinburgh. Nothing.
Friendly staff, very welcoming, exellent breakfast and clean rooms. Just the right distance for us to walk to and from the centre. None - other than the dog if you're allergic to dogs as my husband is. Might have been helpful to mention that the owners have a (well controlled) dog on the website as although we really enjoyed our staff and the hotel was spotless he suffered an allergic reaction and had to to take medication for this.
Clean rooms, close to Grassmarket, Princes Street...
The Ardmillan was conveniently located for our visit to our daughter. Also, it was a good bargain, it worked out to 56 pounds a night. The cooked breakfast was very good. The en suite bathroom was tiny and awkward, and although I expect small bathrooms in converted houses, this bathroom was the most awkward I've seen.
Comfortable bed, clean room, good shower. Bathroom door didn't close properly or lock, and there was a fair bit of noise.
nice clean comfortable room with large bathroom not a very powerful shower
Nice and friendly No bad points
Very welcoming staff Rooms not very well insulated from noise inside hotel.
It was clean & tidy, the breakfasts were good & it was handy to the bus routes into town & out to the airport. we would have preferred to check in before 2pm,although to be fair we didnt request this.
The staff were friendly and helpful. They allocated an "upgraded" double room ensuite when they discovered that my booking had not been noted in their paper diary. The breakfast was great. None - it was as advertised
The staff were great, warm and friendly and the facilities just fine for the price paid! The TV control was bust! (room 7)
The bed was comfortable, and the bedroom was clean. Our room was directly over the bar, but it was not noisy. The three members of staff we met were friendly. The bathroom smelt faintly of sewage – possibly because the toilet had a macerator. The sink and mirror were positioned in a corner so tight that you couldn't really stand in front of them unless you were Twiggy. The radiator was full on, and could not be turned off. It was a problem the barmaid was already aware of when we mentioned it to her in the evening, but nothing had been done to rectify it. Her solution was to open the window wide. When we tried opening the left-hand sash window, it turned out to be rotten on one side and we were lucky that it didn't fall out. The right-hand window opened satisfactorily – but it meant that the traffic noise from the street outside was quite intrusive. The tv was tiny and none of the channels was properly tuned. The barmaid tried to improve the reception, without much success. Finally - and I really don't mean to carp – I cannot understand why hotels provide a ration of just two teabags per person per night. It is not as if teabags are expensive. If you advertise that there are tea- and coffee-making facilities in the room, you should provide a reasonable supply of tea and coffee.
