The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable with many interesting modern design elements. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great and the location was conveniently close to Boston. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Close to lots of stores, restaurants and other shopping needs. Busy section of Route 1 to get in and out of. It took us a while to safely get out during rush hour traffic. The hotel is close to a turnaround though so that's a plus.
The staff was kind and courteous. We made several requests which were responded to astonishingly quickly. Our room was beautifully decorated and was very well-suited to our needs. Our group was a teenage son and his parents, and the layout of our room kept us all comfortable. The room had the sleeping space separated from the sitting area by a partial wall, and the sitting area included a sectional sofa, a desk and a kitchenette area with a sink, microwave and refrigerator. The space allowed us to keep our own schedules without annoying each other or bumping into each other. The breakfast was very nice, very high quality. We would stay here again on our next visit. Although it's not in the downtown area, that's a small trade-off for a very reasonable price at a very fine hotel. The beds were softer than we like.
Nice rooms, pool (a little small but not busy so it didn't matter for us) and whirlpool. Great hot breakfast. Close to highway. Excellent value for the price. If it cost as much as some other hotels in the area I wouldn't give it such a good review but for the price it's great. Clean too and we were able to check in a little early. Sofa bed mattress is quite uncomfortable, though they always are. I thought little shampoo bottles were usually standard but not included here - I found my own but I assume it's available on request. View is not great - highways on both sides and a grungy pond on the other.
The rooms are comfortable. This hotel is not equipped with a larger fridge and there are not some of the amenities you find in other extended stay hotels. The hot tub was broke and we were never told of that when we booked or upon check-in, it was a surprise. The elevators certificates were out of date so that made us uncomfortable. One by 2 years! The staff was friendly..the buffet in the morning is by far the best part of this hotel. They offer far more options than a typical hotel buffet. Would definatly stay here again the proce was right.
Every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable although perhaps slightly smaller than I was expecting. We were on the top floor near the end of the hall which made our multi-night stay nice and quiet. We would stay there again. The entrance is hard to spot at first and since the hotelast is on a divided highway, if you miss it, it'seems a nuisance going past it to the next exit, going back the other way to the exit and then driving to it again.
The staff was wonderful The bathroom was too drafty
Quaint 1920s hotel remodeled decently. Nice ambiance. There's a letter drop at the elevator, two good restaurants in the lobby, and the staff are very helpful. You cannot control the temperature in your room. The heat as a central system either on or off. Consequently, my room with broiling when I got there and had to open the window even though it was 10° outside. I have no idea how it is in the summertime. There are no refrigerators microwaves or anything like that easily available. The water that comes out of the faucet tastes funny and has a lot of sediment so the hotel gives you a bottle of water every day. I had to buy my own water though because that is not enough.
Reasonably priced. Walking distance to everything in Salem. Room was always clean. I definitely would recommend.
Great value. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The restaurant needs some work. Does not have a greeter and staff does poor job on responding to patrons waiting to be seated. The baretenders could care less about being there. Stayed 4 nights and could never get anyones attention to be seated to have dinner. Had dinner one night at the bar and the bartender acted like I was bothering her for drinks and ordering dinner.
The water park was the only part that was enjoyable. The lack of customer service , staff was very inconsiderate and very hard to get intouch with. They made you feel as if you where a bother.
The carpets had visible stains all over them. Other than that, I'd say the room was pretty clean and inviting. It was kind of a bummer when the carpets ruined the overall vibe of the room.
Due to the free parking and location close to Boston is a good choice for to visit the city and sorroundings (Rockport,Salem...). Free wifi. Clean Only 1 computer for the whole hotel
Nothing Everything. Website states that hotel has easy access to the commuter rail into the city. This is incorrect. It is outside of the shuttles "travel zone" and when we inquired about getting to the terminal we were coldly told that we needed to take a cab that would cost $35-40 every trip. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. We were made to feel like an inconvenience whenever we inquired about using the hotel shuttle. Will never stay again.
It is located on a busy, business oriented highway. Nothing special about ambiance, but the rooms were clean, good size and beds were comfortable. Registration staff were efficient and pleasant. Just not the type of place that I would want to hang around. Good overnight and go type place.
Unfamiliar with the Boston/Logan Airport/Peabody area, I arrived at the airport and called the hotel -- asking if there was a "cheap" way to get there, not having a car. I was told a taxi cab was the only way to come if I was not driving myself. Through a little digging I eventually learned that there is indeed a bus service running about every 1/2 hour from the airport to Peabody (the Logan Express). Why the hotel clerk could not have known that, I can't imagine. That lack of local knowledge on the part of the hotel staff really upset me.
It was clean and comfortable. Listed online as having shuttle service to airport. It doesn't.
Excellent location! Wide range of restaurants and shops around. Very close to Boston.
Staff was really friendly and the sheets were super soft. Our bed skirt had multiple rips in it hanging down, there was a hole in the lamp shade, our bathtub leaked onto the bathroom floor and the leather was peeling off the bed post. The whole floor we stayed on also wreaked of cigarettes.
Having my wedding there in August 2016
Very affordable, not too frilly. We just needed a place to sleep and this was perfect! It looked grungy from the outside
I had stayed at the knights inn 5 years ago with my husband and kids. It was a great stay. When booking this trip with my daughter, I was a little worried because I had read some awful reviews. I don't know what they were talking about, our stay was just as good as the first time, if not better. It was clean, quiet, and the beds were more comfortable than our first stay. Breakfast was a selection of bagels, cereal, yogurt etc. And coffee is always available. I would definitely stay here again. For those who wrote the awful reviews ,I have no idea what you're talking about. Keep in mind this is not a big fancy hotel, it's a motel. The price is right ,staff is friendly, and rooms are clean. What more could you ask for?
Friendly staff Clean rooms Close to Boston and Salem Inexpensive Breakfast hours were a bit short Road noise
Bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The blanket had not been changed since last visitor, we had to park in a different area than where our room was, and did not like the door that separated us from the room next door. It did not look secure.
The friendly staff ....the environment very quiet &peaceful. ..... The roads are bumpie cracked....only one key too a room..need washers &dryers...
rooms were clean, front desk was helpful Price is to high for area
staff extremely friendly; good breakfast; comfortable; convenient
Clean, friendly staff, hampton is a chain that I have always found to be well worth the money we paid. Hot buffet breakfast makes it a very convient place to stay.
Even the paid WiFi was spotty at best
Location. Fitness room was OK, but limited
The staff, especailly the person who was working at the desk the night we arrived were all very helpful. Was a little difficult to get into and out of the hotel due to the placement on Highway 1.
It's old - Brings you back
It was an interesting building in an interesting town. It was more like a bed and breakfast to me, which I loved, and reminded me of some of the old hotels I stayed in Europe. It was an older, historic building but not run-down at all.
The hotel was very homely nd welcoming. The situation could not have been bette it is so near to walk to all Salem tourist attractions The jaccussi beiing turned on in the room above ours at 11.45pm.
It was very close to the centre of town
Close to all historicle areas.
The atmosphere - the room was comfortable although not air conditioned. Fortunately the evening was cool. I didn't realize that when I made the reservation. This wasn't the hotel's fought, but navigating to the inn was difficult. One way streets and roads that curved the "wrong direction" plus no signs made it very frustrating to get to.
proximity to downton was unimpressed by the quality of furniture, layout, and comfort of the room
The continental breakfast was very convenient and excellent! Also the option of running a room air conditioner or opening the windows for fresh air. Our room was very comfortable and clean including a nice large bathroom.
Very quiet. Well maintained. Great breakfast !
Christmas decor was gorgeous and there were Christmas cookies and hot cider offered on entering. The whole lobby smelled of cinnamon which I found charming. Bathrooms offered an extensive number of amenities and bottled water and robes. We mostly enjoyed the restaurant as well. Location was great, could walk to the Salem walking tour and many historic attractions. Check in was very slow and an elevator was broken giving off a constant beeping. My sirloin was undercooked, even after sending it back twice and it took minutes and my announcing myself to be seated for breakfast even though there was only one other customer. But most disappointing was the way my young adult son was questioned when he came back into the hotel in the morning after making a trip to the car. He was making a cup of coffee and front desk staff approached him accusingly, asking him to verify his room number to assure he was indeed a guest. He was shocked and offended.
My daughter and I stayed here the night before a swimeet close by. It was clean, the restaurants folks were very helpful and had good food and it was a reasonable value. This was in the winter, so we didn't walk around at all outside.
Ease of access to major routes near Boston, very clean, good food at Regatta pub None
We have stayed here 3 times for kids sporting events, it's the only hotel in the area with an indoor pool. Plenty of shops, restaurants and museums within a short walking distance.
When asked, the staff made an excellent lunch recommendation. The Inn, proper, had a charming character. Some towels had holes and stains. Bedspread had a stain. AC was insufficient for the room. Breakfast was limited and poorly monitored for needed food levels and clean tables.
It was in Gloucester, MA. That's the only positive. Since we arrived after their check in hours, we had to let ourselves in. The place has potential but is poorly maintained. It was dirty and downright creepy. Our king bed was made of two hard twin beds. There was no tv nor WiFi, as promised.
Close proximity to a lot of things needed small refrig for water Shower curtain in room had mold
The place was beautiful. Right near the beach. Only a short 15 minute drive to Salem. The hotel charged me for the same room three times. I confronted them and at first they apologized and admitted mistake, then after talking to the manager she said that they always do that and there was a sign at the front (which I didn't see) that's says they do that. It's been over a week and I've only been refunded once. Not twice. The rooms are small. The AC decides when it wants to work. Won't be going back.
Location in Beverly, close in eateries, quiet place when we stayed there. It's definitely a gem. Down side is that the rooms are a bit small and it gets sold out on week ends for Weddings. According to the desk clerk they were sold out Fri, Sat 51 weeks in 2013, 2014 looks even more active.
Good location, great for Salem sightseeing - rooms can be a little dark but we got a room change for a higher floor
Cleanliness, convenient location, friendly staff Small room size
Clean, wel presented rooms. Ideally locaed for visiting Salem & the North Shore. Hotel gave US Government / Military discount on production of my British Army ID card
Room was clean. From the website we got the impression that this would be an interesting hotel in a nice environment. The hotel makes part of a conference centre but does not have real hotel facilities. Breakfast was for instance very basic, a cup of coffee and a muffin on a plate on your lap. In fact, you get a very basic room and that is it. The prices however, are far too high. We paid about $ 190 (including taxes) for one night. There are better and cheaper hotels in the area.
Convenient to the event we were going to. Very small room.
Small hotel with prompt service Rooms are small.
Room was very small. Front desk staff: 3 out of 4 of them were brainless. Residential back road location impossible without GPS. Overpriced for what it was.
The reservationist and concierge staff were AAA+++ The room is too small for two people. Room couldn't easily accomodate laying out our 2 suitcases - there was one stand and we used a chair for the other piece. Would expect more space for the room rate.
Employees are nice the restaurant fell short of our expectations, on a Friday night there was virtually nothing to choose from and what we ordered was not good; although breakfast buffet was quite good. tiny bedroom with nightstand on only 1 side. location is far from shopping and restaurants. pathway to beach and beach itself were nice.
This is really a 2 star charging 4 star prices. High price. Low end feel.
Is what greeted us as we opened the door to our room. Worn furniture, way-too-soft, saggy mattress and a barely pleasant desk clerk made the price for this room exorbitant, and out of character for all the other Marriott properties we've stayed at. We'll never stay here again, and would not recommend it to anyone.
Good clean comfortable rooms. exhaust fan in the bathroom is too weak and breakfast room is too small.
We upgraded our room to one of the turret rooms, and were very glad we'd done so - it was lovely. The staff was helpful in recommending nearby restaurants for dinner (theirs was closed). The Wi-Fi connection was hit-or-miss in our room, but we were only there for one night, so it wasn't a big problem. Complimentary breakfast was continental; could have used a warm dish - even oatmeal would have been a nice addition.
The room was super comfortable, the refrigerator came in very handy, and the bathroom was beautiful! I enjoyed the lighting in the room being rather soft than in-your-face bright, I loved my stay in your hotel. N/A
The cafe was excellent and very convenient. So nice to sit on the sofa and watch football. We love Starbucks coffee! Also, we had forgotten some things, and the staff provided them for us. They were also quick to send housekeeping to our room when needed. The hotel was quiet, and there is a mall across the street. Great stay!
I liked the bed and how comfortable it was. The hotel was clean. I didn't like that every morning around 8:00 I would be awaken by the loud talking of the housekeeping staff. It was as if they congregated around our room and were yelling towards the door. It was horrible!
