Pros: It’s a great for spending your holiday on the lake surrounded by the natural and quiet environment.
Pros: The staff was very polite. It was possible to change the room to the 1st floor, because the 2nd floor without elevator is a bit hard for an elderly guest. Prolongation for one day wasn't a problem and the rate was the same as for the other three days.

Pros: Everything was really good. One of the best breakfast ever.
Cons: An excellent place, people very friendlich. I recommend the hotel for sure.
Pros: The staff, super friendly! Excellent breakfast! Charming place, we have already booked with them again!!
Pros: Warmth of welcome, service.
Cons: Great hotel, friendly staff, food and lots of Bavarian beer and friends. Stairs are tricky if you're not well abled.
Pros: Slightly quirky, but clean, comfortable and friendly
Pros: The hotel is very nice! The staff is very polite, the cuisine is good. We had a very good time there.
Cons: The smell of a fried food was sometimes too much...
Pros: Location, Food, Staff and service. The beer garden was a lot of fun.
Cons: Need a fan to help cool the room on the warmer nights.
With a stay at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg in Starnberg (Starnberg District), you'll be a 1-minute drive from Lake Starnberg and 7 minutes from Votivkapelle. Pros: Nice hotel and staff. Easy to find.
Pros: A few minutes walking distance to rowing club
Pros: Position and breakfast was excellent
Pros: Upscale feel of the property
Cons: No real views from room
Pros: Everything. Considering the location it was a whisper quiet room. The breakfast was outstanding with an omelet bar.
Cons: 12 E for overnight parking! Also the location was off a very busy road.
Pros: Very nice hotel, we have cerebrated our wedding night there. 100% recommendable. We hope to comeback every year :)
The elegant Landgasthof Aufkirchen offers comfortable rooms, a library, and a room with a fireplace in the town of Berg. The Munich conference grounds can be reached with a 45-minute drive. All rooms at Landgasthof Aufkirchen are designed individual style, featuring satellite TV and an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer. Some rooms also have a balcony with a mountain view. The surrounding Bavarian countryside is ideal for hiking, and it is 1.5 km to the Starnberger Lake. Younger visitors will enjoy the playground, and adults can relax on the sun terrace. A buffet breakfast is offered each morning, and the hotel restaurant serves a range of Bavarian dishes using local products. Guests can also enjoy a drink in the bar and lounge area. Landgasthof Aufkirchen is 8 km from Starnberg Train Station, and a 10-minute drive from the A95 motorway. Free private parking is available on site at the hotel.
Pros: Get a room with a balcony - fantastic view of the Alps and the Dolomites beyond.
Pros: Close to the lake, nice view, good food and very friendly staff.
Pros: Rooms very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient and breakfast excellent. Great dining room for evening meals. Enjoyed very much.
Cons: Would love to have had coffee or tea making facilities in room, but understand this is not usual in Germany as in UK.
Pros: Breakfast ok, they offered almost everything you'd expect from a German breakfast: rolls, bread, brezeln, cheese, ham, sausage, juice (orange, multivitamine), soft-boiled eggs. Selection of rolls could have been bigger (for Bavaria that was really poor). Special wishes (scrambled eggs or something) will be offered on demand. But then this time no-one told me, so if I hadn't known from prior visits, I'd gone without.
Cons: The room had no heating, except for an electric in the bathroom. Cleanliness: well. It was cleaned round corners ... At least the shower was mold-free (and no, you can't expect that in Germany!). Beds are very soft, almost suitable for English (no offense!). Decor stale and with little attention to detail. I would never stay here privately.
Pros: Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and always around, if you need something. The hotel itself is very beautiful, a mixture between traditional and modern. The lake is also not that far away.
Pros: The bed/mattress was very comfortable and soft, and the view at breakfast was nice.
Cons: No working WiFi.
Pros: Loved location, service and food
Pros: Awesome breakfast, Utterly comfortable room Nice ambience
Pros: Beautiful property with a great view. Away from the crowded areas inside Munich , but close enough to use the transit system to get to everything. The Die Post was a great place to stay. The rooms were modern but still had a charm of a little hotel in a small town. The staff was helpful and pleasant and the food was outstanding.
Cons: Being from America I was a little surprised with no air conditioning in the rooms, but the room was comfortable and was easy to adjust to.
Pros: Location. Natural setting in woods next to pretty river
Pros: Very clean and wonderful area to stay in
Cons: Breakfast very limited and staff could have been a little friendlier
Pros: Very clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Especially the female staff was friendly.
Cons: Lots of mosquitos in the room. Had to kill about 10 before being able to sleep. Mosquito nets on the windows would definitely help solve this issue. Process of checking in / out was a bit inefficient. Food at the restaurant as well as breakfast was mediocre.
Pros: Lovely room in quiet village within walking distance of excellent museum
Cons: Not really a complaint, but we couldn't understand the menu. I wish I'd had a German dictionary with me, but I think it's my fault for not brushing up on my German. I don't see why they should provide an English menu.
Pros: Quaint character, great and Friendly service
Cons: Nice authentic and relaxing ambience..
Pros: Nice personell, good restaurant. Very nicely suited in the middle of town but close to the scenic banks of the Starnberger lake. Extremely clean rooms. Just perfect
Pros: Breakfast was great, staff very friendly and helpful, the area of the hotel charming and the walk by the lake stunning! Safe place to be travelling alone.
Cons: The internet was down and I was not able to work. When I called the front desk they did not have an alternative for me - e.g. come an work in the breakfast room where the internet was working. I would have also appreciated a free breakfast or some other sign of apology from the hotel.
Pros: A classic country pub, Bavarian style. Modern interior, spotlessly clean, with lovely bathrooms and comfortable beds. The restaurant facilities are excellent - loads of character and traditional food that caters for a variety of tastes. Staff are professional, very helpful and speak English well. About 12 mins walk from train station. Short walk to landing for the ferry that travels around the big lake where you can also swim. Card shop down the road with fun souvenirs and a lady that speaks excellent English, Post Office in a house nearby, two banks, with helpful staff. Locals very friendly and helpful with directions, especially if you speak some German.
Cons: Our room on the top floor did get warm in the hot weather. Because the Germany style door / window to the balcony doesn't allow fly screens, we had to keep it shut overnight to keep mosquitoes out.
Pros: A true paradise of natural beauty, comfort and hospitality!!! Best experience ever. Strongly recommended!!! Merci beaucoup!
With a stay at Hotel Fischerhaus in Starnberg, you'll be 16.4 mi (26.5 km) from Deutsches Museum and 16.7 mi (26.8 km) from Viktualienmarkt. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Within easy reach of Munich via train. Comfortable hotel, good restaurants close by.
Pros: Great location. The room was perfectly clean and well furnished. Great breakfast.
Cons: It was impossible to close the window's shutter (it was voluntary blocked), so impossible to sleep in the morning because of the light. It would have been nice to have access to the ingredients of the breakfast. The staff was very nice, but because nothing was written and I am lactose intolerant, I could only choose from a very limited amount of choices. It was great for my partner.
Pros: Excellent location - just a few mins walk to either the lake or the town centre. The staff were delightful, especially the blonde girl on reception. Breakfast was good and served in nice surroundings - indoor or out.
Cons: For the price I would have expected some complimentary bottled water in the room, and perhaps some biscuits and/or fruit. Small bottles of water were €2.75 from the mini-bar. The internet was VERY slow. There was no milk provided for tea/coffee in the room. (I'm sure that had I asked, I'd have been given a small jug but reception closes at 7pm and we arrived later than this) The description mentions a garden but it's not my understanding of a garden, just a few tables set up on a patio outside the main entrance - that said, it was very pleasant having breakfast there.
With a stay at Ammersee-Hotel in Herrsching am Ammersee (Starnberg District), you'll be steps from Ammersee and a 4-minute drive from Strandbad Widdersberg. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lake view Cleanliness
Pros: Set about 40 mins by train from Munich aside a lake it is a perfect place to recharge your batteries in a excellent maintained and operated environment .
Cons: May pay extra for a lake view room but would be a lit quieter than a room overlooking the roadway which despite double glazed windows was noisy from 6 am onwards.
Pros: People who are working there are very very nice and attentive. The common room of the hotel is very cozy, you just want to sit there, have a drink, read a book or just look directly at the lake. They have the best Apfelstrudel, I have ever tried. Despite the size of the spa area, it is very clean and smells very nice.
Cons: We like to sleep with the open window, but it was very noisy because of the cars. To make a room even more better, I would appreciate an electric kettle for making a tea.
With a stay at Hotel Schloss Berg in Berg (Starnberg District), you'll be 1 minutes by foot from Lake Starnberg.
Pros: A great hotel on the banks of Starnberg See. Beautiful vistas of the Alps, a great restaurant, and a relaxing environment.
Pros: I absolutely loved this place! It's beautifully located, the staff is super helpful and the breakfast is amazing. Definitely worth staying in to admire the beauty of the surroundings.
Pros: We arrived hours before check in to see if reception could hold our luggage and they had our room ready for us in no time! They were incredibly kind and informative and went the extra mile for us the days we were there
Pros: The room was large, modern and comfortable with a great view of Lake Starnberg. The food in the Hotel's dining room was exceptional. Generous servings of perfectly cooked German cuisine. Delicious and good value for money. The hotel was also conveniently located close to the event I was attending at Montessori Bieberkor in Berg.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Pros: the location was perfect to relax, a great view and good neighborhood, green surrounding, less traffic, good food and restaurant service
Cons: the beds are old and nor really comfortable anymore balcony cleaning bad no service in the main hotel building SPA use only on prior reservation/request??
Pros: Great breakfast, beautiful view.
Cons: Suppose to be beside the lake, but they put us to new hotel which is far from the lake
Pros: Location. I had a lovely lake view room as requested. The restaurant has great food.
Cons: There was nothing I did not like.
Pros: All Staff members spoke English. Good food, good location, friendly people.
Pros: Lovely setting on the lake & very convenient to Munich
Pros: room was clean and large, breakfast was good and staff was friendly and location near München is excellent
Cons: dinner could be better
Pros: Quite expensive hotel but we got what we paid for: a clean, comfortable room with a nicely designed bathroom and a balcony overlooking the Starnberger See.
Cons: No airconditioning meant keeping the door to the balcony open and there were disturbances during the night from ongoing parties nearby.
Pros: Beautiful setting on a lake. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Pros: Situated near the lake. Good atmosphere.
Pros: Excellent Hotel, asked for lake side view and you could not have wished for a better view it was certainly what it said it was.
Cons: It did not state lakeside view was in front hotel and balconies in a seperate building at the back. The only restaurant was in the front and if you had a balcony you had to walk down the hill to the front hotel.
Pros: Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and comfortable room
Cons: Beds were very hard
Pros: very good
With a stay at Landhotel Huber Am See in Muensing (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen), you'll be 2 minutes by foot from Lake Starnberg. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It's really close to Starnberg Lake. The shower was nice.
Cons: The rooms were basic and not the class of room one would expect for 110€/night in a town that far from anything, including basic food and drink amenities. This was in the annex, the room's light was broken, and the bed was simultaneously soft and laid through and hard and inflexible in places. There is very little mobile Internet reception and sadly the Hotel Internet is not much better. The only dining opportunity not requiring a drive is the hotel's own, which was a complete disaster. We booked a table for seven o'clock, were seated at 15 past, had our orders taken 15 minutes later (which is still OK, if the place is busy, but it seemed like a normal business day), one of the four orders brought out 45 minutes later (fish and potato salad, not the world's most complicated dish), and the other three an hour and a half after ordering (Schnitzel and potato salad, also not that much of an imposition even on unskilled cooks). No apologies, no communication from the server or kitchen that things might take a little longer, no chance to cancel (we had young kids with us, eating at 7 is OK, eating at 8:30 isn't, they need to sleep too after a day on the lake). My partner left her coat there and when we drove back the next day, the hotel claimed it had not been found. Only after insisting for a good ten minutes did someone get up and check the Lost and Found, bringing out the coat. For most hotels quality and service sell their rooms. For others it's just location. I'll leave it up to you to decide which one this one is.
Pros: staff always very nice. always enjoy the restaurant for lunch and dinner as well.
Cons: would be nice to have more choice for breakfast
Pros: Friendly staff very good food beautiful environment- what’s not to like?
Cons: I can’t think of anything
Pros: Great Location, great atmosphere, great food, great surroundings! Perfect for a relaxed weekend immersed in the nature :)
With a stay at Hotel Starnberger See in Starnberg (Starnberg District), you'll be a 1-minute drive from Lake Starnberg and 9 minutes from Votivkapelle. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, an elevator, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff were helpful and pleasant. The breakfasts were fantastic and a big part of making it good value. The location is fabulous- just across from the railway station and a 2 minute walk to the lake.
Cons: The Internet connection was poor. I could only access it in the Reception area and the breakfast area closest to it.
Pros: The Hotel staff are really helpful and friendly. They take time to address all your inquiries. We stayed their with our 4 months baby girl and our stay was comfortable and smooth! Our room was cozy and spacious. As for the location, you're 2mins walking distance from the Starnberger lake. Several Restaurants, Pizzerias, Ice-cream shops...etc. are within a walking distance. I can easily recommend this place for couples and families.
Cons: The only think which annoyed us is the "squeaky" noise of the room's wooden floor, whenever you walk. When our baby is asleep, it's quite challenging to move in the room without waking her up. We had to move sort of a ninja style from one place to the other. Nevertheless, I would still recommend the hotel :)
Pros: The breakfast wat a bit too basic even though the description says it is a good one.
Cons: The bed could have been more comfy.
Pros: Right next to train station and lake. Very relaxing visit.
Pros: Loved the fresh orange juice for breakfast and wonderful staff
With a stay at Hotel Maurerhansl in Diessen am Ammersee (Landsberg District), you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Ammersee and Diessen Church of St John. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Friendly staff and great breakfast. Many original details from the building.
Cons: Nothing particularly sticks out to me - good room with solid facilities for the price.
Pros: We were positively surprised, and loved our stay at the Hotel, staff was very friendly and the town was centrally located to go see the Andechs monastery, and the Ammersee. We found a very nice Spanish Tappas restaurant within walking distance that we enjoyed also. We recommend this quaint stylish hotel for anyone going to visit this area, we plan on going back this summer.
Cons: Parking was scarce
Pros: The breakfast was very good and very nice staff! Very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The common room was very nice.
Cons: The shower was very old with an old shower head. The private beach was quite far away. Not really walking distance. It was very hot outside (34C) and there was no fan or airco. There were a lot of mosquitos and the windows unfortunately had no insect screen. So it was either a very hot room or mosquitos in your room.
Pros: Breakfast was traditional and absolutely beautiful. So close to everything and lovely walk to the lake. Best part of staying at this hotel was visiting the Hotels own private shack on the Lake. Own entrance away from the public. Staff were great and lovely to chat too. Would visit again.
Pros: The hotel had lots of character, and the breakfast was excellent. We were lucky we met Tanya during check in, she gave us lots of information.
Cons: I did not do my homework properly. I knew the hotel was in the hotel centre and that they had a private beach, but didn’t realise the private beach/garden was about 3km away and only has a limited view of the lake. Also parking was not straightforward as the place they asked us to park became full after 5pm so had to park in the street and move the car by 10am the next morning.
Pros: Location is good. Nice old building with a lot of historic elements. Breakfast is absolutely great!
Cons: Very few explanations at the check in. Garden at the Ammersee they promote is quite far (2,5km) from the hotel. Room is quite small and the shower is right there in your room. No door or whatsoever . Not so ideal for a stay with friends. It is also quite hot in the rooms even though outdoor temperature was only 16 degrees, so not really recommendable during hot summers.
Cons: Bad for parking, no help to find parking, noise room from the street, open shower inside the room, cabin toilet in the room that everything could be heard, the room was not cleaned during the day and had to do it myself with only help on the phone to find the clean towels, the towels thin and cheep, no curtains to block out the light from the flashlights, badly furnished rooms, cold building, every move in the building could be heard through the thin walls. I have travel all over the world for the last 45 years and don’t mind putting up with hotels if they are not expensive but this was the worst and really expensive. Never again will I stay in such an expensive dump.
Pros: The great decoration. Wonderfull juliya and the staff Great breakfast
Cons: A little bit noisy
Boasting an extremely quiet yet central location on the southwest outskirts of Munich, between the lake Starnberger See and the state capital, this hotel awaits your visit within the unique villa district of Gauting. Constructed in 1908, this listed building underwent extensive and careful renovation work 10 years ago. It offers an attractive beer garden beneath ancient trees.
Pros: This cozy hotel is using a histrical building super cleanly. Their services are nice and comfortable. The restaurant inhoused is good as well. I really love to come back soon.
Pros: Clean and comfortable with good wifi.
Cons: The single bed was a bit narrow. I felt I was going to fall out!
Pros: Clean. comfortable and spcious rooms. Lift to upper floors. Handy for Starnberg - if the S-Bahn is working! Good breakfast.
Pros: clean, quiet good breakfast and beer garden
Cons: pillow a little lumpy, big room key
Pros: Hotel's restaurant was very nice. The staffs of restaurant and hotel both are always friendly and kind. To the S-Bahn station is about 5min to walk. Around the station there are some shops, bank and also cinema. The room is clean and comfortable. Everything fine :)
Pros: A good location for an overnight stop. Good breakfast. It was raining when I left and the receptionist kindly escorted me to my car with an umbrella.
Cons: The single room was not as good as the one they gave me three weeks previously. It was small and dark and overlooked the beer garden which was noisy on a Saturday night. I also thought it was odd that the lady who checked me in didn't recognise me. Computers tell you those things!
Pros: Simple buffet breakfast but good quality, freshly baked rolls and bread etc.
Pros: The lady in reception was very helpful. The staff in the restaurant was friendly, patient and efficient and spoke perfect English (our German is poor!)
With a stay at Schlossgut Oberambach Bio-Hotel und Vitalzentrum in Muensing (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen), you'll be 13 minutes by foot from Lake Starnberg. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Planning an event in Muensing? This hotel has facilities measuring 2443 square feet (227 square meters), including a conference center. Guests may use a train station pick-up service for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location and private beach
Pros: Nice room with a private terrace
Pros: It’s surrounding is so calm and romantic.
Pros: Lovely location in the Bavarian hills, not far from lake Starnberg. Very relaxing atmosphere, and an amazing garden/park all around the hotel. The wellness facilities are simple but good, just enough to relax for a few hours. Breakfast buffet is great, and has everything one can wish for. Reception staff were very friendly.
Cons: The bed was extremely hard (not firm, but hard), and the room was quite hot (only one window that could open a tiny bit and no ventilation system that seemed to be operational). It was also a pity that there were no a la carte option in the restaurant when we stayed, only a grill buffet. There is a private beach but it is a bit of a walk (about 10 minutes).
Pros: Location and grounds are pristine
Cons: Wellness center ( sauna & steam bath ) were below par compared with the overall standard of the hotel .
With a stay at Der Kramerhof Landgasthot & Hotel in Diessen am Ammersee (Landsberg District), you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Ammersee and Riederau Ferry Terminal. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice and comfortable room, clean. Very good localization, beautiful surroundings near Amersee lake. Great traditional food in hotel's restaurant with great beer.
Cons: Bit far from Diessen, hotel located just outside the city, but there is a fast train, or if you travel by car, it's 3-5mins drive. Nothing important really - good stay.
Pros: Staff was very kind and helpful even though their English language skills were not the best. The place is really cozy and with nice bavarian feeling and decoration. Very clean rooms and super comfortable bed linens. Location is excellent as it is easy to find once in Riederau and very close to Ammersee lake in case one would like to take a stroll and enjoy the scenery
Cons: There were no toothbrush/toothpaste in the bathroom amenities
Pros: Everything was lovely. Friendly host, excellent breakfast and they specially offered to turn on the sauna in the morning for me as I mentioned that I had come from a race.

Pros: Spa facilities & swimming pool

Pros: Great restaurant and location, very cozy and homelike place - all with the spirit of good old times. No crowds of tourists, pretty peaceful and very beautiful.
Cons: The WiFi was well available only in 1st floor of the building and not available in the riom at all. Quality of cleaning was also quite poor, since all the things were left almoust as they were
Pros: Good food , friendly staff ,
Pros: Staying in such a beautiful historical place is a unique moment. You quickly travel through time. Very friendly staff and excellent Schnitzel in the Bierstube.
Cons: It would be nice to have some air conditioning. I was slightly disappointed that the room with “village view” ended up being a room with road view ....
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Good staff. Nice rooms
Cons: Heat wave!! No AC and too many mosquitos to have the windows open. No screens
Pros: We loved the elegance and history. Our room was beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and service was outstanding!!! Loved the Pub and the fun we had each evening!
Pros: Lovely hotel in nice surroundings.
Cons: There was a wedding when I stayed there and I could not get food in the evening because everything was reserved. However it forced me to leave the property and I found an excellent restaurant by the lake, which I really enjoyed. I booked the hotel again a few days later and this time there was no wedding and the staff were less overwhelmed. I still ate by the lake.
Pros: History, location, staff
