Pros: staff great, coffee good, the hotel had plumbing issues, smelled like bug spray, plumbing issues, tub dirty and the bottom was shaped in a V making it unsafe, the metal bed railing was sticking out 3” under a dust ruffle, I banged my ankle on it. Pros: I like this place for it's very cozy like and the staff is very nice. The Jacuzzi tub was everything although I didn't get to enjoy it cause I was too tired from the long check-in wait.
Cons: This is my second stay and this visit wasn't so pleasant for check-in was horrible. My room was nice but not so cleanly for floors needed vacuuming and just nothing to my criteria. I came back for my first experience was pleasant. Breakfast was okay and I disliked the outside door being broken, not so secure, and there was someone smoking heavily (not cigs either) and a child was crying so loud it was very much concerning. I don't know but I am very much rethinking ever staying there again.

6.3 Good
Pros: Beds were nice and soft. Although the building was obviously older, the furnishings in the room didn't look bad. The breakfast was as expected.
Cons: Booked room through Kayak and included number of guests (4). Upon arriving, the hotel clerk told me I had to pay more than the price on Kayak due to the number of guests. I'm not sure who was at fault here, but I think the hotel should have honored the rate and dealt with Kayak to figure it out. Also, I asked the same lady for some hot water to melt ice that had accumulated on my car. She was right next to a sink, but told me I could get some from my (upstairs) room. Not very helpful. The latch on our door did not always catch, and was a security hazard. I forgot to mention it to the front desk, but it's a product of the age of the building. There was a freak ice storm the night before we left, and while not the fault of the hotel, the fact that it is on top of a hill made getting down to the street a little dangerous.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was gross.
Cons: Breakfast
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: my kayak reservation did not appear in the hotel que, according to management. Because i was forced to make the reservation thru the hotel, i was required to provide the manager with a valid credit card. Mine was damaged and ultimately the manager refused to honor my original reservation even though i had proof of confirmed payment via kayak. So after spending the previous six nights there without issue, i was forced to collect all of my belongings and spend the next four hours in the lobby waiting for a friend to drive to where i was...this would have been my last night to stay & my prearranged transportation would have already been ready for me. Also, because I had to leave early, i was docked a day of pay. Horrible experience.

Pros: Staff is great. The rates are economical; I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel- you get what you pay for. Ask to see your room before it's assigned to you (as you're checking into the hotel) and you'll be pleased- they'll let you check another room if you're not pleased. My second one was as good as it gets for the economical room rates.

Motel 6 Jackson Tennessee is ideally located with easy access to I-40, adjacent to the famed Casey Jones Village. Motel 6 is convenient to popular attractions like Britton Lane Battlefield. Come out and enjoy modern rooms with free wifi.
4.0 OK
Pros: The only 2 things I liked about my stay were the price and the lady at the front counter was friendly.
Cons: I didn't like the location being tucked away in the back of another hotel. The hotel was old and dirty. My room obviously had not been cleaned. There was makeup on the bed and pillow as well as hair. They just picked up trash and made the bed without changing the sheets. The rooms appeared to have been remodeled by someone with very little experience. The mattress felt like it was about 20 years old...worn out and lumpy. Would not recommend.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Price, but still overpriced
Cons: Noisy clientele, noisy doors, thin walls. Stairs were fire doors, but all propped open, no exit signs (when was last safety inspection??) Overall conditions deplorable: hair on floors and on towels, physical plant falling apart equivalent to slum. Entire second floor smelled like someone killed a skunk in their room. Motel very hard to find because entrance was behind two other motels, dark and unsafe. No lobby. People behind desk actually nice and helpful.
4.5 OK
Pros: The young lady at the front desk was nice
Cons: Dark halls, weird smell, 6 police cars when we came back from dinner, it just felt weird and unsafe.

Cons: The shower had a visible mold problem. The paint in the bathroom was melting off the wall from having previously painted over the existing mold. Also, the outdoor pool was not clean and the beds were very small. This was a dangerous place to stay and made my wife extremely uncomfortable, we left at 4 am.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet place close to a shopping center and an interstate. Fairly inexpensive.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: Don't be fooled by the photos online and the outside appearance!!!! For the money you pay it's definitely NOT worth it. The room was extremely nasty, the A/C leaked all over the floor, so we couldn't go on that side of the room and was just told to put some towels there. The bathroom light went out on my husband as he was taken a shower, so he couldn't see anything and could have possibly injured his self. We stayed two nights and was not offered room service for the next day. The hallway and the room had a horrible smell to it. I don't think it's fair when you book reservations, and they take the money out so now your force to stay somewhere your not please with and not offered any of your money back for such a horrible stay!!!!! Again, dont be fooled!!!!!!

Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: The staff was rude and very unprofessional. As soon as,I walked in I realized that the hotel had a foul odor. The furniture was dingy. The towels had stains on them. However, the biggest issue was the manager's (Christopher)attitude. I checked in the hotel with no problem. Then,I left to visit with my family. Once,I returned back to the hotel my keys no longer worked,so I went to the front desk to get new ones. It was then I met the manager from hell. He told me he had deactivated my keys because I owe him money for my stay. I expressed to him that I had already paid hotel club.com I even showed him my confirmation email, and he stated that meant nothing to him. So,I got on the phone with hotel club.com and they called the hotel and fixed the situation. And he still had the worst attitude as if it was my fault he hadn't received payment from hotel club.com. So,I say all that to say if you have any minor complications with your reservation please don't expect any sympathy or professionalism from this staff. Worst hotel stay ever. Nasty hotel and awful staff is a terrible combination.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Extremely unprofessional. After leaving my credit card at the hotel bar, the Bar owner came to my room to return it. I open the door and he barges in and lays on my bed. I don't expect first class in an inexpensive hotel, but it would be nice if the desk chair was comfortable and the other chair seat wasn't dirty and stained with who knows what. It was okay for my male friend and me, but my wife would never stay at Old Hickory Inn. I give it two stars. Fine if you are on a tight limited budget.
Cons: The light cover in the bathroom was so old and filthy that light could barely get through it. The toilet made a loud screeching sound which went on for about a minute after flushing.Otherwise, the bathroom was clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Finally a good value with no bad surprise!
4.0 OK
Pros: low price comparably, one of the two people at front desk was nice
Cons: very dirty and sketchy, never had such thin walls, not well kept at all
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly. We have service dogs and there were no issues with check in that we have found in many establishments. It was very clean. Comfortable beds with clean sheets and comfortable pillows.
Cons: There are some maintenance issues. Stains on the ceiling, popcorn on the ceiling was coming down in some locations. Bathrooms needupgrades or at least some new caulking aaround the tub and fixtures.
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: There was nothing good about this place. My husband and I try to find affordable options as we road trip, which we do often. This was without a doubt the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. There was nothing good about it. The best part was when we left.
Cons: The stink is unbearable. I had a headache within 20min of arriving and it never went away because it was so stinky. There were hair balls on the blankets and the blankets were terribly sticky. The carpeting was sticky everywhere. The walls were dirty. When my alarm went off at 6am I jumped out of bed and we were out of there by 6:15. I'm not a morning person at all, so this speaks to how bad it was. We drove for about 20min to a rest stop and slept for another two hours in our car. We didn't dare use the towels and we most certainly didn't bring our suitcases in for fear of bed bugs (for the record there were no bed bugs so I guess that's something positive). And checking in was also a nightmare. The man at the front desk was friendly but couldn't type in our reservation correctly and it took about 15min to check us in and we already had a reservation. I can't imagine what would have happened if we hadn't payed yet (we would have left, that's what). Then we got over to our room and the key reader didn't work so we had to go back and stand in line again to get another one. Just don't stay here.
