The hot tub in the room was amazing. I was sore but I brought bath bombs and it was wonderful. The bath robes made me want to steal one- so I googled them and figured out that they're like $90 bath robes, so that makes sense. Spa was nice. I always think massages are overpriced, so there's no use in asking me about that. My husband and I got a couple's massage. The masseuses were great. I expected a little better of a "spa" given the Avalon's reputation. It was essentially a converted extra space. The barTENDER is awesome. They're doing the right thing regarding oppening up some more space for him because he draws people who aren't even staying there. He's friendly, sharp, personable, witty and fun to be around. His drinks are amazing. I didn't know what I wanted, but somehow, he did!
The bedroom was tiny (Colorado Experience). There wasn't enough room to walk between the wall and the foot of the bed without turning sideways. There was no fan in the room of any sort. There was only one bedside table on the far side, so we had to leave everything on one side, which meant my husband and I had to switch our usual sleeping positions. My impression is that the more expensive rooms are probably nicer, but we wanted something kinda bougie without getting ridiculous. Will probably go back in Nov and try again, maybe, for their veterans/1st responders/etc appreciation special. Maybe. The breakfast was.... bad. Mine was... ok? I had the biscuit and gravy, and a weird-tasting sausage patty. My husband got an $11 egg brulee type thing which, for $11 one would have expected more than about half a cup of egg and sausage. Don't eat breakfast at CA, get it somewhere else.
Great staff!! Hotel needs updated!
The staff. Pat the bartender was amazing!
Carpets need replaced rooms need painted and deep cleaned, and updated
It was a unexpected fun theme room , we had a great time .
Nothing it was a great romantic time
A brief sojourn
The room was a lot of fun! We didn't know what we were getting going in, which made stepping into the Egyptian Palace room all the better. The hot tub and bed were extremely comfortable. Room was clean and well put together, and the staff were very accomodating.
The bathtub had a persistent drip and, due to full bookings, we were not able to move to another room. However, we received a complimentary breakfast and the staff made sure that the water was relatively unobtrusive.
