10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast cereals were true to name. Not very unsatisfactory like one motel on our trip where cheap substitute was not any where near the ordered cereal. Breakfast was delivered in the morning not the evening before.
Cons: A small microwave n the room would be an advantage for heating surplus eats acquired on the way there.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was brillant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach and supermarket
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was picturesque. The staff a check-in were lovely and friendly.
Cons: Room was out dated and unfortunately there was a strong wind that whistled under the door. (a towel on the ground solved it for the night). I felt a little underwhelmed when I compared to staying at another coastal town not that far from here. But it was clean and convenient for the small amount of time I was staying.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable stay. Room had everything one needed. Good shower. Location good, centrally located to everything.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely Little town, Good for a Stay for 1 Night. Good Restaurant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The best and most unexpected thing was the Dinner in the restaurant!! Garlic Prawn Sauce was heavenly!! The chef needs a much bigger venue!! Yum! The room was clean and comfortable. It was as pictured. The ocean was a bit further away than we’d hoped so we couldn’t hear the waves. There was a small fridge and electric kettle with coffee and teas which were great. Would stay again! And wish we could return for the Dinner!
Cons: The balcony is a shared.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I thought the restaurant was good and we had an excellent, yet pricey meal. The service in the evening (by a mature lady) was exceptional but in the morning the young woman's face said help me get out of here. The view of the coast from the dining room is beautiful. The baby boomers music, soothing and pleasant.
Cons: This hotel is past its use by date, the rooms do not match the attractive facade and dining room. Its ok for a one nighter and folks on a tight budget (the world is changing, the hotel industry which relies on good old 1960s ideas is not) innovation, and adaptation is the price of survival.
Crown Inn Hotel - Kingston - Building

7.7 Good (136 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Crown Inn Hotel in Kingston SE (Lacepede), you'll be a 5-minute walk from Soldiers Memorial Park and 9 minutes by foot from Lions Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable stay with clean facilities - value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to where I needed to be. The room I had booked was not available and so a larger one was provided.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: it has recently had reno work done such as carpets and painting, also the shower amenities has been updated.
Cons: 1. On one day in the shower cubicle closest to the door the water pressure was poor. The following day I used the other shower and it had excellent pressure! 2. There was an issue with the common kitchen's fridge whereby some of my foodstuffs were thrown out. This was not the end of the world and I had a constructive chat with a lovely kiwi cleaner called Raywynd (I think that was her name) and I suggested that a policy they could introduce to prevent the fridge becoming over full with abandoned foodstuffs (which would subsequently go off) would be to instruct departing guests to either take their food with them or dispose of it by binning it. 3, On my second and last night it was hellishly hot and I did not sleep well. However to be fair for the amount I paid this is a minor quibble. The ceiling fan was fine on night one and would be fine on most any night. (This was a heatwave sort of night.) Also a refrigerated air conditioner, even if there was one, can only work if the power is on! As it turned out the power went out on Friday morning, the day I was due to check out. I had decided the previous day that I would extend my stay for one night but changed my mind when I found out the power was to be out for about 12 hours so I headed home. Ironically this wasn't necessarily the best decision because on the way home I experienced horrendous weather where the rain was so heavy the roads were flooded and visibility very poor. (From one extreme to another!) Now this is not the fault of the Crown Inn. (Maybe the only thing to be done would be to fix the weather pattern damaging 'global warming', if we can be sure it is the cause, and if we can all agree on that?!! )
