excellent service, staff very helpfull no in room coffee making facilities, lack of choice of english speaking tv channels, no currency exchange facilities
We found the restaurant to be excellent. We had two evening meals in the restaurant which were excellent. Also excellent buffet breakfast. Our only complaint was the distance the hotel was from the main square of Krakow.
Very helpful staff very clean hotel, we enjoyed the breakfast plenty to choose for myself and my two teenage sons rooms were very comfortable and kept very clean, overall a lovely hotel to stay in I would recommend it to others The problem when we arrived the door entry system didnt work so we had to call the porter every time we wanted entry to our rooms! this was nobodys fault but having two rooms and my teenage sons were in one of them caused problems , the problem was rectified by the first evening
Excellent choice of various types of food for breakfast. Lovely decor in bedrooms, bathrooms and other areas in hotel. Good bar food.
polite and friendly staff/good selection of food at breakfast buffet. swimming pool could have been a little warmer.
Friendly helpful staff. Poor standard of food in the hotel restaurant. We had an evening meal at the hotel on one night. The food was cold, took a long time between courses and the restaurant was very drafty. We used the hotel pool once, the water was cold.
Superb hotel, very modern, slightly expensive to be totally honest but really lovely hotel. A little on the expensive side.
I found very helping staff, ready to help and the breakfast was awesome:)
The staff were great, very helpful. It was close to public transport and bus/tour pick up points. good view over the river and town. rooms well thought out spacious and clean. got ripped off by a taxi driver but I suppose you get that, nothing to dislike about the hotel at all
New modern construction with excellent services, superb relax area with fitness and pool with breath-taking view over Cracow
Staff very friendly and efficient. Food very good especially the breakfast menu.
The hotel facilities - new modern hotel, good breakfast, internet access, quiet location, free boat to Wavel Castle on the hour, free packed lunch if required, helpful staff with relatively good English. Limited dinner menu and airconditioning was unreliable. The magnetic swipe card to access our room kept failing.
Great location, helpful reception staff, good breakfast selection, comfortable rooms. Staff at breakfast miserable and the young girls couldn't even bring themselves to say good morning - unsual for Poland. Sadly a contrast with all the other staff who were lovely. The location of the breakfast area involved steps which was tricky for my elderly mother.
Location Small bed, uncomfortable pillow, a bit noisy even if room did not face street, no lobby
Very convenient location, small comfortable hotel well maintained with very helpful staff. Very good breakfast buffet. Did not use restaurant There was considerable noise from the street during the night affecting the front rooms
Everything. Your could not ask for a better hotel
Great location, near Wawel Castel and Rynek Glowny. The breakfast was also great. Private parking. We were satisfied with everything.
The privacy blended with a helpful staff. The cheerful and efficient room chambermaid. The bar was a bit lacking in atmosphere, although this could have been because it was not too much used by the visitors during my stay.
Central location of the hotel. English-speaking receptionists. Lovely room & bathroom. Great breakfast.
We spent two nights in this delightful hotel, ideally located on a pedestrian street in the center of Old Town between Wawel and Market Square. Room beautifully decorated in old world style and bathroom large and modern. Convenient, but limited, parking across the street.
great location, staff very pleasant, great breakfast, nice cosy hotel.
Bedroom was quiet and bathroom had an excellent shower. The location was really good for people who cannot walk far , being between the major places of interest in Krakow and excellent restaurants nearby There was a buffet at breakfast , but we were not aware until last day that other items would be provided on request e.g. scrambled eggs . The staff in the breakfast room never spoke to us - not even to say good morning and never smiled or offered assistance re other food available
The location was excellent. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and very clean and the breakfasts were very good with a wide choice available every day.
Conveniece of hotel to City. More coffee in the room.
Staff could speak english Staff helpful and friendly Blown lightbulb and no milk for coffee dealt with immediately Excellent location to Krakow's tourist spots- all within walking distance and safe area Failed to replenish the soap for handwashing but there was a clean bar of soap- no big deal.
Location freindley staff lovely bar
Staff very accomodating . Need to stay in updated room
location - it is only 3 - 5 minutes walk to the old town and less then 10 min to Kazimierz.
the rooms were clean and staff very helpfull
The hotel is located in the city center, so getting around for sightseeing was all done by foot or the occasional tram. Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. I had a very spacious low level room with two beds. Overall, very satisfied! Stayed on the 1st floor and for 4 nights over Thanksgiving weekend, which also happened to be the same weekend as Advent (Catholic start of Christmas season). The halls were a bit loud, but mainly from the noise of people walking up and down. There were a couple of parties at the hotel but they all finished at a reasonable time.
The staff were very courteous, available and helpful, rooms well equipped, clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast excellent choice. Good value for money. Location good for city centre.
hotel was very clean and efficient. the staff were unobtrusive and maintained a good standard throughout our 4 nights stay.
television Set too old to small and no international chanels available only CNN was working during my 3 days of stay
The staff were first-rate - smiling, helpful, speaking excellent English Only the too-loud piped music in the public rooms
Staff were lovely as were all the facilities & the room.Great quiet but central location
Its central location and attractiveness of surrounding area
The hotel staff really put themselves out to make our stay comfortable. The room was very nice and even when we arrived early they offered us complimentry breakfast, which was very thoughtful since we had been up very early in the morning. They organised for me to have a massage and reception managed to answer any questions we had. There was nothing I disliked about the hotel. If I had to put 1 thing, I would mention no english channels on the TV except news & Euro Sport. We sometimes like to relax late afternoon/evening and watch a movie. But talking to other people they mentioned the same in their hotel, in fact they had less than us.
Uncomfortable furniture in room; absence of clock and audio in guest rooms; limited TV selection and no video in room; no shower in our room.
Central location for the sightseeing we wanted to do. Hotel was fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
the staff were amazingly friendly and highly professional. The little extras in the room made it stand out, l'Occitaine products in the bathroom, chocolates on arrival, bath robes, slippers etc. The restaurant was also excellent Our room was very very small and I was dissapointed as I had bought this as a gift for my boyfriends 30th birthday, he did not complain but I wanted him to feel that I had spoilt him, also the sheet on the bed was too small and came loose
It was only a half block from the Wawell Royal castle. It is in an incredible old building refer bish ed in the most elegant furnishings. My room had an exposed beam celing. The bed was antique with wooden head board, side rails and foot bosrd. The breakfast service was particularly nice. I would have like to have stayed longer.
Location was great Breakfast not wounderful. No Tea and Coffee making facalities in room
excellent restaurant great location helpful staff many amenities
Location , beautiful property AC does not cool. Breakfast is very expensive. The staff at breakfast are not catering i asked for eggs n pancakes and i only got eggs w bakon which i didn't order. I served myself cereal but there were no spoons to eat it with.
Food was excellent - great breakfast selection and we enjoyed a superb evening meal
I expected AC in my room and it was not there. It was the main reason for selecting this hotel. I will not select this hotel again.
Rooms small, double bed put against the wall. And difficult to come out of it. No toiletries at all.
The hotel was been open on 3th October 10, so the room it was smell the fresh. The bed was very great with a huge bedspread. It was very comfortable, we slept very well! Very quiet place. You can choose a lot of lot of kind led light around the bed and just above your head, very funky to use. The furniture are very nice, it looks ice purple and the desk in ice white. In the hall, you can find a lot of about some jazz festival with a light design decoration. The situation is very useful near old town (Market Place, Wawel), Kazimierz, East and West. The main train station is just from 10min on walk. The staff was very pleasant with me and give me a lot of info. We had the room at the end of the hall and the building did a corner, so we loose a little bite area, but sincerely is not really an issue. The breakfast it was middle, a lot of salted meal, and not enough of sugar taste, the dinning room need more lighting and not is the idea of the jazz, the music inside was like The Young and the Restless, please groove this! There are 2 kinds of hotels in the same place. One hotel is Rt Monopol and the other in Rt Monopol Jazz, you need to go by the first one, the decoration is very old and no in my taste. Visit Krakow, it was a beautifull experience !
Location and great decoration of the rooms A little too pricey.
Quiet position yet very close to a selection of restaurants and within walking distance (or an easy tram ride) of the castle, central square, railway station etc.
Excellent location, quiet & nice surrounding and great style N.A.
quite; small; nice location; good looking; good internet connection from the room; nice and attentios people more soap and a champoo would be desirable in the bathroom;
very central, clean
The room I booked was for 3 adults and there were 3 full size single beds with plenty of extra space also in the room. It was a perfect location in the Jewish Quarter within walking distance of the centre of Krakow. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. The hotel was very clean as I said good size rooms, modern bathroom, safe, fridge with water.Breakfast was not much choice but it was enough for me. I would definatly stay at The Ester again and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends
Excellent location. Enjoyable stay. With a couple of exceptions the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All spoke and understood English language.
Excellent location, cleaness Some details which are not acceptable in 4 stars hotel: poor breakfast, bad coffee, no hot milk on the coffee table, no mini-bar in the room. It's rather 3 stars, not 4 stars hotel
located in a quiet neighbourhood, free public parking in front of the hotel Hotel Ester is worth 3 stars, not 4. Old-fashioned hotel. Poor breakfast: self-service coffee & tea facilities don't work properly, staff is neglecting guests, if you get up late, a lot of items aren't available anymore at the buffet
Beautiful Rooms Reception staff could be quite rude at times
Free bottles of water. Old world charm. Excellent breakfast. Air con. No complaints at all. Have already recommended it to a friend who intends to visit. Not fussed on orange bedspreads. Bit dated. But thats being very picky. Thet were spotlessly clean.
Hotel in good position - walking distance to the majority of Krakow's tourist spots.
the hotel is well situated for sightseeing and the main square, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good with plenty of choice, rooms are clean with all facilities and plenty of hot water., electrical socket for kettle badly situated
amazing atmosphere in line with the lovely old town neighbourhood and the Kazimierz quarter, very kind and helpful staff, walking distance to all points of interest in Krakow (also less than 5 min to public transport stops if you don't want to walk)
Location - close to bars and resturants in Kazimierz area and short walk to Old Town.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel was excellent.
Very convenient, free safe box
the location, breakast and bathroom were very nice and we really enjoyed it while staying ther.It is a nice, quiet hotel but i would say 2 stars not 3. Unfortunately the bedding and sheets have to be changed, the bed was too old with a very slim matresse, unconfortable
Pleasant stay. Nothing flash and offers good value for money. Good location.
Great location and staff. Adam ran a great bar and really took care of us. The Courtyard was a very nice touch for morning coffee and evening drinks.
Excellent reception at desk service. Very good english skills for desk service people. I asked for extra coat hangers -got them within 15 minutes. Wake up calls were spot on time wise. WiFi is free. Good signal strength. Hotel is on a quiet dead end side street from a street with a trolley so it is quiet. Superb free breakfast comes with the room. Hotel dining room is a bit better than average. Had really great roasted duck on my wife's birthday. Hotel is built around an inner courtyard. Pleasant place to chat on lounge chairs and sip beer or iced tea. Little kid friendly. Heard lots of quiet toddler chatter. Lots of small shops within two blocks to buy beer, wine, pastries high end deli-like pastries and sandwiches. Easy 10-15 minute walk to center city Krakow. Easy to get a taxi at the hotel. Lots of cafe like small restaurants of different cuisines within four blocks. Hotel locale is not super up scale. Lenin free hostel around the corner, sex shop a block away. My wife and I both in the low 70's had no issues walking around in day time. Lots of working class people, youngsters, moms with infants, elderly on the streets in the day. We did not go out at night although our 44 year old son and friends were out bar visiting until very late and felt quite safe. I think the location is the reason why the Metropolitan is such a good value. If the location were in city central Krakow district the room costs would be much higher. It is a really great hotel value in an acceptable but not particularly upscale area..We would stay there again.
location and staff promptness breakfast needs more food options
Good location, kind staff. The milk products for breakfast were unfortunately not cold and the first day the coffee was not warm
I like the hotel's location close to Kazimierz as well as the Rynek. I also like the hotel as it is a friendly hotel with excellent staff and it is also not too big. The staff were very kind and helpful. I'd have like to have had a tea/coffee making facility in the bedroom.
The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went out of their way to attend to your needs as much as possible, I would certainly recommend them, and stay at the Hotel again.
breakfast clean room
It's central position for seeing the various parts of Krakow There was no bath, only a shower
The location, the breakfast, and the attitude of the staff.
good room, friendly, location to Market Square
A lovely clean and friendly hotel perfectly situated on a quiet street near the main square. Surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants.
We did not stay at the hotel regent because as we arrived they said the hotel plumbing was not working and so there were no rooms available and we were moved to Galycia for one night and then the rest of the stay was in hotel Rezydent. My comments are below The hotel plumbing was very noisy, every time you ran any water the plumbing made very load noises. The walls were so thin that you could hear a conversation in the room next door.
rather uncomfortable mattresses; streetside rooms can be noisy
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
Helpful and courteous staff with good command of English. Modern bathroom, large room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast buffet. Very close to a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars - and public transport. Smell of cigarette smoke from other rooms.
Breakfast was excellent. Great location. Staff spoke English and were very helpful More pillows.
Location was excellent being 15 minute walk to main square and surrounded by wide choice of bars and restaurents. Breakfast was the same each day
The hotel has been recently refurbished. It is very clean, truly spotless, Room was large and comfortable, with A/C. Nice, very clean bathroom. The only tiny drawback was a damaged shower which didn't sprinkle water evenly.
The hotel staff were absolutely lovely. Helpful above and beyond the call of duty The hotel is about 10 min walk from Wawel Castle & 15min from Rynek Square. While the route back (at 4am !!!!) is well lit I wouldn't recommend that you walk it alone
We were given a good welcome from the man on reception. The room was basic but very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Having said about the good welcome from the man on recetion - thats where the 'good' ended in relation to the staff, everything seemed too much for them - we experienced raised eyes when requesting hot drinks in our room. There are no tea/coffee facilaties and no sign of the bottled water we were promised. Having stated the above it was a cheap hotel which was clean - just don't expect friendly and you'll be fine!!
large room, a lot of space very small TV, only one socket working
Area ideal for jewish quarter,Staff good and large double room no
position. too noisy and too warm inside the room very dry .
Nice location in the heart of the Kazimierz, near numerous restaurants & bars Breakfast Buffett was good Room was very spacious, especially for Europe Staff were great, always helpful WiFi signal was just ok Heater worked well enough, but only the bathroom would get really warm
Great location with friendly helpful staff. Room and cleanliness good. Breakfast ok
very close to importnt tourist and shoping and to the centre of things. great location. the beddings were not clean at all you could smell the perfume on the pillows from the person before and there was hair all over the beds. when the thin metres moved it reveled all the haur under it.
The location is absolutely brilliant for quiet strolls and meals in the nearby squares. The staff are really helpful and dealt with every query or request both helpfully & efficiently. The soundproofing between floors - if you are unlucky in getting noisy neighbours upstairs or rowdy teenagers during school visit season it can be disturbing. However we only experienced this on 1 night - the remainder was very peaceful
the staff was very kind and helpful and the hotel itself is well kept and tidy nothing
The staff were all exceptionally helpful and gave us advice about sights in the cities and recommendations for restaurants. The location was perfect for both getting to the old town on foot and exploring the Jewish Quarter. The free internet was an added bonus. Nice to have Spa facilities available. You wouldn't enjoy breakfast if you don't like cheese.
Nice rooms, nice and helpful staff. Placed in a pleasant district in Krakow.
It was everything we could have expected and more. No
It was in the jewish quarter, staff were lovely and helpful The breakfast was very poor, if you like cheese and smoked salmon if was fine, but I dont like either
The location of the hotel is excellent .Hotel Eden is in the heart of the old jewish district.
Hotel Eden was a fabulous experience. The hotel was full of character and charm, with such a feeling of history. Clean, lovely breakfast downstairs, helpful staff, and good location in Kazimierz which is very interesting. I didn't mind the walk in to the city centre and did it sometimes several times a day- not far. I'd certainly stay again- hope to! No problems at all
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good The restaurant and bar was closed. The mini bar had been emptied and not in use. All of these things were said to be included during our stay. Breakfast was okay but all cheese, would have liked some meats.
location noise level from outside. Night temperatures meant window had to be open (no A/C) and we were directly above the hotel main entrance.
The entire hotel decor and rooms were beyond description with works of art throughout the hotel. Location was perfect, near all major tourist attractions.
Excellent situation in the middle of Kazimierz. The hotel was clean and new and the staff very helpful.
Very good location in the centre of Kazimiercz, about 15 minutes from Wawel and city center. Lots of sites of interests in the neighborhood, very good cafés and restaurants, however the street was quite restful, enough to sleep with an open window without major disturbance. The furniture is quite simple but practical, the rooms are very clean and the bathroom is excellent. The breakfast is very correct.
The location is fantastic. Easy to find and the avaibility of parking spaces is a bonus in this central location. Excellent breakfast.
good central location with very helpful staff. Hotel not expensive at all for the facilities none
Excellent location in Kazimierz and many excellent restaurants within 200 yds. Novel and well executed decor. Quiet rooms in rear overlook Jewish Cemetery.
Fantastic Hotel. Friendly staff. Free cable internet. Clean and cosy rooms. Located in a zone with restaurants and bars, but very quiet. Has very easy access to the old town in Krakow. Nice breakfast. Definitly to be recomended in a price-quality relation. Nothing relevant.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was convenient and in a lively & interesting area, and the hotel room had everything I needed. Also, the staff answered my emails exceptionally quickly and very clearly.
Very good location. Very good breakfast. Very friendly staff in the reception. We have booked double room, but since we were with 2 years old boy we got bigger room. Definitely I would choose the same hotel if I would be in Krakow.
Excellent location, the hotel is modern, simple and clean, very friendly staff and good value for money poor air-conditioning
The hotel was clean and very centrally located right in the heart of the jewish district and 10mins walking from the market square. It was quiet and lots of good restaurants nearby. The staff there was very helpful, friendly and always there to lend a hand at arranging tours, confirming my flights as there was a cold weather problems. Its value for money so dont expect the ritz I think the only thing that bugged me was the fact that there was the smell of lamb in the place as they have an a joining indian restaurant there. But got used to it after a day.
the character of the building and location perhaps a better tv signal could be arranged
Rates on the web are quated in EUR but hotel charges more in PLZ
Very friendly staff, good breakfast. Room standard not bad as for the value but the pictures online misleading - my expectations were higher than reality.
The friendly helpful staff, the location. the price, & the free swets on the desk (yum). The Breakfast (its an irish thing)
The staff were very helpful, with suggestions for transport, restaurants and directions. Very comfortable.
Just about everything - and its very convenient for the Old Town, etc. Good breakfasts, clean and tidy, room a good size, pleasant and helpful staff. Simple 'no unnecessary frills' value for money. The 'below ground' breakfast room is rather strangely decorated. Removing some its 'mock' features and painting all areas of the walls and ceiling a bright white, say, would help lift its slightly 'bunker feel' ambience.
Friendly, quiet, good location. beds a bit narrow and could use thicker curtains.
All staff spoke english. 24Hr reception. Very close to city center (walking distance). No (mini) bar present at hotel.
The location was great. single beds
I liked the breakfast and the central location of the hotel
Besides being very close to the City Center, there was hardly any noice coming from the street. The reception was open 24 hours, the staff was very friendly and we even got cookies and a couple of bottles of mineral water free in our room! Please, please, please: put on thicker curtains! It was awful to wake up everyday at 5 am with the light coming in from the window! Another thing: the site said there would be ironing facilities in the room, but there weren'T.
Location perfect. The staff were very very helpful. I would highly recommend it. Everything was perfect.
small, pleasent, intimate, large room, flat screen TV slightly confused staff
The hotel is stunning with large rooms (a suit in fact!) and the standard of decor was A1. The breakfast was first class with as much choice as anyone would need. There is a club next door which can be heard as a distant thud on a Fri and Sat night if you are not a heavy sleeper.
Fantastic renovation which was clearly illustrated with lots of photos. Good situation. Good breakfast. Lovely apartment. Still very new - only open 2 months, so some finishing touches required, like information pack in room (Number for reception etc). Some bare wires coming out of the walls in the bathrooms. No gym as stated in the hotel description - they have had to close it.
Location was perfect. The atmosphere of Kazimierz surpassed the popular Old Town, which was still easily accessible by foot. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff most friendly The Polish breakfast was not my favorite, but that is a matter of taste, I suppose
The staff was very helpful. Changed or room when the one we got was too hot. Beds too soft
The location was excellent and the staff friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.
Staff were always extreemly helpful and always with a smile
Very nice hotel and good location. Room was very hot though and ac did not help. Breakfast was awesome! Just the temp of the room and our room had windows to the hall which was a little creepy
The hotel has a boutique feel and the staff were friendly and helpful and is in the Kazimierz quarter of the city which is quieter than the old town square and perfect for a quiet nights rest if you have been on the road all day.
I booked the hotel due to a pricing error, I got the room for 44 PLZ including breakfast, the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy and with very good facilities, the restaurant and bar were also top class, the staff were very friendly and spoke good English, the breakfast was also very good. My only complaint and its nothing to do with the hotel is that the area is very quiet with most places closing around 10pm, I think this may be a seasonal thing as the city is quieter through Autumn and Winter and there are less tourists about, however there are bars open within 5 minutes walk away.
Location and overall feel lack of tea and coffee in the room
I had a great stay. The room was clean and modern. The staff was polite and extremely helpful.
