Pros: The superior room we had was very clean and comfortable, and has a number of designer touches that make it seem quite special. But I think it's the friendly, helpful staff that sets this hotel apart.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hotel is well located in the lower city with easy access to the river front and the funicular to upper town. Madame Quay arranged multiple events for our group with great success. The entire staff were always courteous and knowledgable. Make sure to take advantage of the Penache Restaurant on the property for breakfast and dinner. I will be back!!

Cons: HAVING TO CHECK OUT
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. Great location. Clean. Quiet. Great breakfast which is included in the price. Overall excellent value at $160 per night.
Cons: Very hard to find the hotel. Room was very small with a shower made entirely of glass in the bedroom itself. Room was very small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful staff, I twice stayed here in one week, fourth floor of the hotel hard by the church square. The rooms are spacious and darkly handsome with just the night accents of decor. Love the rich wood floors and doors, roomy bathrooms and just everything.
Cons: I travel a lot and honestly cannot demerit the hotel for anything. From directions to restaurant recommendations to central location in old Montreal to handout umbrellas on a rainy Wednesday, Place d'Armes came through.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: One issue I had was when I was given my credit card receipt it was not itemised, so I had no idea if the valet charge was included. I therefore paid the valet guy separate for the valet parking. Then, when I later went over the credit card bill it appears that I had been charged for the valet on the credit card bill. An itemised receipt would have made me aware of this. Other than that I have no complaints, but I think this is something that is easily rectified.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lobby and guest room were modern and beautiful. The staff was especially welcoming and warm. The lobby was decorated with contemporary comfortable sofas, open spaces with burning candles, wine bar, Nespresso coffee machines, wood and stone walls. The well-designed shower, bath and guest room were spacious and tastefully decorated. The room had a Nespresso machine, which I enjoyed. Additionally, our room had huge windows with a beautiful view. Adjoining the hotel was a restaurant with great food including breakfast (which was included with our room) and a full bar. This was a very enjoyable stay.
Cons: Our room-included breakfast was not available until 8:00. Due to the late time breakfast was served, we could not avail ourselves of the amenity that was included with our room. There were a number of electronic devices in our room, which was nice, but it made operating the TV much more complicated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bikes! No car needed. Walking distance to everything including Ferry and train station The staff, especially Antoine the bellman and Maxime the concierge
Cons: That we only spent 3 nights.

Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac - Québec City - Building
12
9.0 Excellent (20,961 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a grandiose, opulent hotel that offers visitors a one-of-a-kind experience. The hotel is one of the centerpieces of the Old Quebec district, among other excellent attractions like the 1800s Citadelle Fort and Terrasse Dufferin, a large boardwalk that overlooks the city. Château Frontenac is impossible to miss with its large spires and impressive size. While the hotel has always been incredible, it recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation project that upgraded virtually every facet of the compound. Château Frontenac boasts 611 guestrooms and suites that invite visitors to take a look into both historic Canada and Europe. Château Frontenac has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site so every guest who stays here is truly a part of history. There are three different types of rooms that guests can choose to stay in. The Fairmont Room ranges from 175 square feet to 225 square feet and features classic decor. The Deluxe Rooms are the same size as the Fairmont Rooms but with some additional furniture and amenities. The Signature Rooms are the largest and finest rooms in the hotel and represent the pinnacle of what Château Frontenac has to offer. Since Château Frontenac has such a storied history and sits on such beautiful grounds, guests can sign up for guided tours throughout the day. The main restaurant in Château Frontenac is Champlain Restaurant headed by Chef Stephane Modat. The kitchen creates delicious dishes that take guests through a journey of local Quebec cuisine. While reservations aren't required, they are highly encouraged. Other dining facilities include the 1608 Wine and Cheese Bar and Bistro Le Sam, which offers creative lunch dishes and fun happy hour cocktails.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the best location for someone wanting to see different parts of Quebec City. The staff is very well trained and seems to try to exceed expectations. This is a gorgeous historic hotel that has been extensively renovated. The pool and spa, all the restaurants, etc. are at or above the standards of what you will find in more modern luxury hotels. Based on my experience, I would recommend staying in one of the traditional decor rooms (preferably beginning 62##).
Cons: Initially, we were offered an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms, but we thought the window was very small and the room felt rather claustrophobic. So, we asked to be put back in the traditional decor, unrenovated rooms and found it to be much larger and comfortable with a double window and a great view. Of course, these two rooms (out of the 600 in the hotel) likely were not representative of all the remodeled/traditional room layouts. Just my experience.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, friendly and super accommodating staff. Wish we had more time to use the pool and to relax at the lounge area by the pool. It is close o all. We will go back again.
Cons: Parking is pricy. We got complimentary water the first day and then no more afterwards. Water is $8 a bottle in the room! Lobby could use some updating.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well kept facility and competent staff. Great location. Would come again.
Cons: But . . . you run a luxury hotel. And then you do a Motel 6 maneuver and charge people for WiFi in their room. I would expect this from an American airline company (the worst customer service businesses on the planet), but not from a top-end hotel chain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
6.8 Good
Pros: The renovated room and view
Cons: We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Service and location were excellent! Staying here was truly a one of a kind experience.
Cons: The rooms were small .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic. The pool area and terrace. The architecture and history of the building. Staff was wonderful.
Cons: Crowded, expensive, no wifi, average room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in a historic building in a great city. Didn't touch the car for 4 days. Great dining both in and around the hotel at a number of spots. Unbelievable views.
Cons: Only that I didn't plan on a longer stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff is very professional and helpful, and location is close to most travel attractions. It's a landmark hotel with signifiant history.
Cons: None
7.4 Good
Pros: The location in Old Town can't be beat. The staff was very helpful in suggesting & reserving dinner. Handled room issue with free upgrade when I didn't accept lesser room.
Cons: First impressions: a disaster! Tried to give us a double bed for our king reservation. Two of the three elevators were down. Took an hour for bags to make up to room. No towels in room when we arrived. The white wine had been used & filled with water!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, architecture, overall experience, elegance, staff readiness to please, convenience
Cons: Phones in the room didn't work, dental kit took too long to get delivered,
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful interior and exterior, pool and related facilities were generously appointed.
Cons: Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to everything - attractions, river, restaurants, and shops! Although it is very busy, any noise that can be heard in your room (if facing the Frontenc) is all done by 11 pm, if not earlier. That said, I was surprised it was not noisier. Loved the window seat and being able to open the window, and have a drink in the room and rest your feet before heading back out. Comfy bed, great shower, and good air conditioning!
Cons: Pedestal sink (no vanity), a bit inconvenient for applying make up and placing toiletries.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds and pillows. Super clean. Walking distance to everything in Vieux Quebec.
Cons: limited counter space in bathroom. towels had too much fabric softener so they wouldn't absorb water.

7.0 Good
Pros: This is a visually interesting hotel with plenty of native american accents that give it a unique look and feel.
Cons: While nice, the room was not well sound-proofed. Noises from people walking outside and on other floors was quite loud, as were music sounds from someplace else in the building.
7.0 Good
Pros: Neat lobby. Pretty rooms and neat decor. Nice river view and sounds out the atrium door.
Cons: Front desk and other staff were not very friendly or welcoming. Only spoke to us when we spoke to them. Not seem to care about ourstay Had to pay to use the hot tub and didn't allow any children even though we were some of the only guests staying there.

Pros: The bed was comfortable, room was clean. Hotel is in a great location. Has a shuttle to old Quebec and everything.
Cons: When we arrived to the hotel. We walked up to the desk and was only stared at with a unfriendly look by the young lady working the front desk. We said Hi and she only said “Hi” back. No welcome or can I help you just “Hi” and a Glare. We were not impressed by this service at all. She was very rude dealing with us.

Pros: Emplacement pratique, chambres rénovées, accueil très sympathique...

8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, right in the old city across from the Esplanade park (even numbered rooms look out to the park), easy walking to all of the main attractions.. Staff bends over backward to be helpful. Breakfast included, basic but all the necessities. Electric fireplace in room. Convenient key-less access. Parking in back of hotel (albeit limited to just 4 cars, first come, first served).
Cons: This applies to our room, but maybe not entire hotel: Tiny bathroom with sliding door that provided little privacy. No closet, just a rack to hang clothes next to bed. Didn't matter to me, but limited tv channel selection might bother some.
