Pros: Complete relaxation in a quiet and secluded spot. A perfect place to unwind for a weekend!
The inn was great. I would definitely recommend it to others that want a calm, quite stay. We used GPS to get us there but it was farther south than our GPS thought. We arrived late and the inn keepers had fixed an hors d'ouvre plate for us. This was really helpful since it is not in town close to any restaurants. This place is best for a single or couple. Loved it!
Pros: I was amazed at the quality of amenities that was included in the price of the room.
Cons: I wish I had known that the hotel was located on the east side of the road instead on the ocean side.

Pros: Location, location, location! Also, the staff are the friendliest and most helpful no matter what you ask.
Cons: more rocking chairs on the porches, otherwise it's close to perfect for me.
Pros: Nothing. It was old and run down. Huge waste of money. We stayed a night up the road at a gorgeous hotel for much less the night before.
Pros: I liked everything about Little River Inn. My whole experience was beyond expectation. There was plenty to do or not do depending why you are there, especially the ocean views and rocking chair on the veranda
Pros: Everything is great about the place. The food is delicious in the restaurant and the location is spectacular. Make sure you request a room with unobstructed views. Our room looked straight into trees rather than the ocean.
Cons: I needed Internet to communicate with work and, in the evening after dinner, it was nearly impossible to use it functionally. They only have one signal and it seems that everyone in the hotel was on it.
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: Dining room food, great. Service a little sketchy.
Pros: Location was breathtaking, room was cute and facing the ocean. Staff was very helpful in recommending local activities.
Cons: Very pricey for the room you're getting. No breakfast, minimal amenities.
Pros: My wife and I decided to visit Little River Inn for our 25th anniversary and we could not have been more pleased. From the room, to the restaurant, to the bar, it was uniformly excellent.

Pros: The Mac House (MacCallum House) is a wonderful, romantic, luxurious place to stay. Breakfasts there are the best in Mendocino. The rooms were well appointed and the stuff helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the Mac House.
When visiting Mendocino, MacCallum House Inn is a great choice to consider. Guests indulge in spa services, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. A bar/lounge and a spa tub are other highlights, and rooms offer DVD players and refrigerators.
Pros: Views, room size, bed comfort, location.
Such a beautiful place but requires upkeep. And that is not happening.
Cons: Understaffed so no housekeeping. Had to call 3 times to get towels and never got our room cleaned. No maintenance staff so bathroom doors off the runner, freezer door fell off in my hands and broken lightbulb with glass shards left in lamp.
Pros: The room was beautiful. Very modern, clean, well laid out and comfortable.
Staff was welcoming, helpful and efficient. Wait staff for both meals were friendly, well-informed.
Food was very good and reasonably priced.
Cons: The grounds were not as well kept up. There used to be a lovely "green garden" open to the public showing their home grown produce.
I miss the unplugged feeling--no phone, etc.
Everything was so luxurious but the towels in the bathroom were unraveling. When I I told the front desk, and showed them the picture, their reaction was underwhelming.
Pros: Room w balcony and view of ocean
Cons: I arrived at the Heritage House Resort for a romantic Valentines weekend with my girlfriend. Booked 2 nights over 1 month prior and even was going to have Valentines dinner at their restaurant. Upon arrival checking in was slow and we had to wait for mandatory Bell Service to take us to the room...we waited over 30minutes in the lobby . They proceeded to take us through the restaurant, up a back staircase, and to a room above the restaurant. The room was very old, it smelled, wallpaper peeling off the wall, the chairs were stained, the bathroom had two faucets (one for hot water and one for cold), and the carpet had stains...VERY GROSS ROOM! I felt like is this a joke by putting me in the creepy haunted room. I paid for a upgraded room with fireplace, not an old room with a wall heater. I went to the front desk to get another room and of course they were sold out and there was nothing that could be done. The hotel said the room automatically was assigned when I booked and it is just "luck of the draw". This was not acceptable and it was a bait and switch since I booked via Kayak vs directly with their hotel. The only nice thing that happened is they refunded my money immediately and the front desk, Evan, helped us by finding a bed and breakfast nearby for us to stay...however it was only available one night and our long weekend away turned into a short trip with lots of driving for nothing since all hotels were booked for Valentines night. Needless to say we did not go to Valentines dinner at the Heritage House after they ruined our weekend. Don't stay at this hotel...but if you do I highly recommend calling and confirming your reservation and the room you are in to make sure it is a renovated room with fireplace.
Pros: Overall a good experience. The place was clean and the lady doing our check in was a world of help for the area. Secluded and off the beaten track, but the entire town is within walking distance. The place where we ate was only a couple of blocks away and was one of the best fish and chips I've ever had.
Cons: I find it a little distasteful to find thick paint on everything. You wouldn't paint your house this thick so why would you do it to a house from 1905?
Pros: Location and service from the check in staff.
Cons: Toilet in my room was a little cramped for space.
Nicholson House Inn is a great choice for a stay in Mendocino. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails, scuba diving, and surfing/boogie boarding, and free perks include full breakfast and self parking.
Pros: Perfect location for a romantic getaway surrounded by magical ocean! Rooms were comfortable - rustic Mendocino style, which we love. The couple running the place was super sweet and prepared a fabulous communal breakfast every morning. I would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Breakfast was okay. Enjoyed the folk music with Holly. Location was good.
Cons: The room was small and dirty. The sink was next to bed with completely separate taps for hot and cold water. There were no toiletries provided except a soap bar. The bed wasn't clean and we could easily spot grey hair and dust. Overall this was our worst hotel/B&B experience in the last 5 years.
Pros: Staff is excellent and close to the beach and downtown. Little worn out place but if you are ok with small wear n tear then good value for money.
Cons: They messed my booking so got a sub-standard room for the first night. Second night was pleasant.
Pros: Easy to find, convenient for walking tour of town, beach access right across the street. Very nice, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Very dog friendly. Room was clean, nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Stairs up to the inn and street parking made unloading the car difficult. The front entry hall was very cluttered and didn't give a good first impression. I am not a fan of Victorian style and particularly unrefurbished tired & soiled-looking antiques, so didn't want to sit on any of the chairs in the "living room" area.
Pros: The staff were wonderful and responsive. The breakfast was absolutely delicious - the best I've ever had at an inn or B&B. The other patrons were a diverse group of interesting folks. I would definitely go back, especially if I got such a good deal again.
Cons: the place was a bit shabby - kind of the classic Mendocino funk with the added twist of the bottom part of the door being missing, so that we had to stuff a rolled up towel under it to keep the critters out (it was an outdoor-entry room).
Situated by the ocean, Didjeridoo Dreamtime Inn is a great choice for a stay in Mendocino. Guests can keep active with onsite snorkeling, and free perks include full breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms at this Victorian bed & breakfast offer up nice touches like pillowtop beds with down comforters, along with flat-screen TVs and DVD players.
Pros: Location- walking distance to Mendocino. The staff was nice.
Cons: The beds were bad and the wi-fi was terrible.
Beautiful gardens - flowers
Sound of the ocean
Cons: They putting on a new roof - construction started too early and included our deck and deck chairs. Deck chairs were taken away and at one point plywood sheets leaned against our sliding glass patio door. They told us about the construction when we checked in but said we would not be bothered. There is however a new roof for future guest.
We also wished the windows and the sliding glass doors had screens so we could open the windows and not worry about bugs or critters.
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the hill house, if I could change one thing though it would be the odor of the room. It smelled as if a poopy diaper had been lost somewhere in the room. We looked everywhere and couldn't locate the source.
Pros: Beds could be more comfortable, and the remote didn't work in our room. The sliding door to our patio was very difficult to open but the space was large and the property was peaceful.
Pros: The proximity to town is wonderful. The gardens on the property are also lovely. My guess is that the property is just too much to maintain (the place is huge).
Cons: The room was dark and smelled of mold. The wifi also did not work!!! I couldn't sleep a wink here. Done tv show was filmed here 20 years ago and the hill house has not updated since then. Not worth the money. For $20 more my companion and I went to a much nicer place with beach views and a fireplace the next night.
Situated on the bay, Hill House Inn is a great choice for a stay in Mendocino. You can be pampered with spa services, then unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. There's also a garden, and rooms offer patios and designer toiletries.
Pros: The staff was outstanding--friendly, cheerful, helpful. Right in town and across the street from trails through oceanfront headlands. We spent lots of time hanging out in the Victorian lobby with beautiful views of the ocean.
Cons: Cleaning was mediocre. Hall carpets needed vacuuming as did under the bed.
Pros: The historic lobby and restaurant.
spacious room 308
Pros: beach, garden, old atmosphere in side. Restaurant very good.
Cons: Didn't know that we were staying in building behind the hotel, the building was not well marked (only on the door) and keys had wrong number on the tag. Confusing.
Pros: I loved the Victorian decor, staying there was like travelling back through time. The bar/lounge in the downstairs is the perfect place to hang out for a night cap although the bar closes at 9:30PM. There is a great balcony you can bring a glass of wine up to and chill out while enjoying the ocean view. Would definitely stay here again when we visit Mendecino.
Pros: The fireplace and casual, quiet lobby area are without compare. Ideal place to spend time with your loved one drinking wine and playing cards or whatever. The upstairs deck serves the same purpose. It's old. It's beautiful. The food and staff are wonderful.
Cons: Bathroom down the hall ... less than ideal. Rooms are small.
Pros: Seemed quint when we first arrived
Cons: Our room had no bathroom, the hotel had a restaurant downstairs that we could he very clearly until all the patrons left at midnight, then all we could hear was the bar two stores down. Impossible to sleep, the hallway also smelled like old fish.
Pros: Great views. Cozey rooms for the adventurous.
Cons: Definitely felt the age of the hotel. Room descriptions are misleading.
Pros: The location
Cons: The bed was not comfortable at all, and was noisy if you moved on it
