Kilsby Cottage is located in Llanwrtyd, close to Llanwrtyd Wells in Mid Wales - the smallest town in Britain and at the centre of one of the last remaining truly unspoilt areas in the UK. Kilsby Cottage provides high standard (5 star facilities) self-catering holiday cottage accommodation for up to 4 adults. A travel-cot and/or fold-up bed can be provided for additional children. Set on a hillside overlooking the Irfon Valley in mid Wales, the views from all the rooms in the holiday cottage are breathtaking. The cottage is adjacent to Kilsby Country House which is set in 2.5 acres of gardens and woodland. Much of the garden is in the process of being restored by Chris and Sue after being neglected for 50 years but you are most welcome to explore (with a little caution!). This area of Mid Wales is a haven for wildlife, birds (not least Red Kites) and wild brown trout fishing. We can point you in the right direction but you may equally choose to enjoy the cottage itself and savour the tranquillity and views of the unspoilt countryside on your doorstep. The holiday cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard and is well equipped and tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One has a very comfortable king size bed about which guests have been known to complain saying they have great difficulty getting out of it in the morning. The other has two comfortable single beds. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, a dressing table, chair and two bedside chests of drawers. An extra fold-up bed is available if required. The downstairs accommodation consists of a large open plan living / dining room / kitchen, plus bathroom with large walk-in shower, entrance hall and lobby for storage of cycles, fishing tackle and outdoor clothing. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, health-grill, slow cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer - ideal if you wish to be fully self catering. There is an automatic washing machine in the spacious bathroom and an iron and ironing board are also provided. Flat-screen TV, Video and DVD facilities are provided in the living room, along with a good quality CD/cassette player and radio. A wide selection of videos and dvds is available. Those of you who wish to read in the evenings will find the variety of lighting options very useful. The whole cottage is fully centrally heated and double-glazed. A high chair and travel-cot are available if required. There are impressive views of the beautiful Irfon Valley in this little known part of Mid Wales from both the upstairs and downstairs rooms. There is ample parking space outside the cottage, a private seating area and access to the gardens to the front and side of the main house with magnificent views of the upper Irfon Valley. A small portable barbecue is provided for your use. Numerous bird feeders are regularly replenished so that you can enjoy the huge variety of birds in the garden. If you're not interested in birds when you come to this part of Mid Wales, you will be by the time you leave.
