A wonderful hotel
huge comfortable rooms, great breakfast, eccentric cool lobby. Option to have coffee in room with nice espresso machine and kitchenette. Gorgeous pool and small but absolutely workable gym. The bar and restaurants on premise are a reason to stay there.
I would suggest that they change orientation of front desk and use a counter system, the low slung desk is too slow and casual and open.
Very unique and excellent lodgings
Gorgeous facilities, accommodating staff, absolutely scrumptious food.
The building itself was unlike everything I've ever seen. The rooms were incredibly large and well appointed mini-apartments. Amenities couldn't be beat. Staff was simply amazing. Restaurants and bar also get high marks.
THE HOTEL The 96-room Town Hall Hotel & Apartments is located in the heart of East London, just five minutes from Bethnal Green tube station, which has ideal connections to West London and the city’s financial district. The beautifully restored establishment elegantly incorporates a restructured, contemporary interior into the charming period property, an ideal space for any business or luxury traveller, situated in one of the metropolis’ hippest, up-and-coming neighbourhoods. MADE BY ORIGINALS Loh Lik Peng, the Singaporean hotelier and restaurateur, was a former lawyer who fell into hospitality as if by accident. Today, his Unlisted Collection of unique, high-quality properties in Singapore, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Sydney include seven design-driven boutique hotels and 20 restaurants to date. With a finger ever on the pulse, Loh operates cutting-edge hotels in heritage-listed buildings that integrate guests directly into the local scene and community. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN Bethnal Green’s heritage-listed old council building was given a bold restoration and reinvention by London-based RARE Architecture. Originally built in 1910, the new award-winning design marries Edwardian, Art Deco, and cutting-edge modern architecture. The striking rooftop extension is an abstract patterned aluminium veil over the existing historic façade. Restored original details such as marble floors, high ceilings, and stately staircases give guests a sense of the building’s former grandeur while modern additions, like large glass partitions, divide the huge rooms yet retain the sense of space and light.
