9.8 Excellent (93 reviews)

La Cantinetta Resort is set in the attractive hilltop village of Mombello Monferrato. Now operating as a winery, this renovated farmhouse offers rooms in pastel colours with countryside views. With free WiFi, rooms include air conditioning, fireplace and balcony with outdoor seating. They also are equipped with satellite TV, and a spacious, private bathroom with free toiletries. Pros: Lovely apartment with a beautiful view just a few doors away from the owner's house providing complete privacy and independence. Excellent breakfast and delicious fresh cake/tarts. Charming hosts whose other business is wine so we had a wine tasting as well.

Cons: Nothing at all. Everything was perfect, a great B&B with great view at the valley and surrounding mountains. Lovely host Donnatella and Roberto they serve a super breakfast and have a cosy appartment.

Pros: Authentic ex-ecclesiastic residence with beautiful view on Monderrato hills, family owned and managed with passion
Cons: Some facilties in the room may be updated. Bed not too comfy.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: What a wonderful place with a stunning view. Great staff and beautiful breakfast out on the Terrace. Also very tasty Dinner and our son loved the animals. Would Love to stay there again sometime!
Cons: Hard to find something but...We all enjoyed the refreshing Pool with the beautiful view a lot- this is No harsh critique but the Pool walls Could have been just a Little Bit cleaner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind family run business, tour of wine cave, and excellent referral for first time horse/pony riding for kids.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Perfect location, amazing buildings, stunning views, wonderful hosts, delicious food, comfortable rooms. You will not be disappointed!
Cons: If I really had to put anything, the pillows are a bit firm. But I know if we had said anything, Emma would have found some softer ones even if she had to go and buy them!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous country location with a stunning view from the terrace of the valley below. The wonderful owner Emma gave us a great tour of the cellars and a very interesting wine tasting - lovely wines which we purchased. She also went to a lot of trouble to provide special gluten and dairy free options for my husband who cannot eat these foods. We felt genuinely welcome, and would love to return soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service, rooms, views, restaurant, pool, grounds....everything was magnificent! The windy, country lane leading up to the top of the hill was covered in vineyards. The elevator was a nice touch for getting to the second floor, but not all of us used it. Sitting by the pool was so comfortable- the perfect place for a spritz! The tour of the winery was such a treat. Learning about the generations of family members that have lived there and made wine made everything feel so special. The rooms are so beautiful- complete with a refrigerator, drinks and teapot. What a beautiful home! We felt honored to have shared in it. Thank you so much!

Pros: Really beautiful, rustic and cosy room. We stayed in one with a fire and it was a really romantic evening with a glass of their own wine.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff was very friendly, the surroundings are great for walks and enjoy a glass of wine with great views and the place itself is beautiful. I would say in summer it´ll be a good spot to enjoy the swimming pool.
Cons: I did not like the spa, it is just a couple of pools (plastic ones like the gym ones) and though the atmosphere is beautiful the details are not. I did not take a massage so I cannot say if it is good or not. I also disliked the wine taste...not ordered, just popping by and trying the wines you wanted in the order you wanted. Right after we ordered one of them at the dining room for dinner and it tasted different which made us think those wines were opened for a while, we saw the staff bringing up the opened bottles to the restaurant... I would also suggest not to reuse the bread and grissini´s lefties after a meal...or if you do it just don´t put the lefties back into the original packages in front of your clients!!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great view and loved the facilities.
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: We arrived a little later than expected, the location is nice and cozy and we were welcomed by a wine tasting in the wine cave which was a very nice welcome! Even though the wines were not completely to our taste. The Spa is closed on Tuesday which was a bit of a disappointment since we only booked a one night stay, but we were warned up front and were allowed to go for a quick swim after the wine tasting, so that was really nice! And the view is amazing, also from the pool. The restaurant is fine, classic Italian cuisine (very friendly lady chef!) but for a longer stay I would recommend looking for restaurants in the area.
Cons: We travelled with 3 persons and booked a suite and one single room since that was the only availability but ended up with 2 rooms for 3 persons which felt a bit as a waste of money. The Ca'san had a very romantic feel, unfortunately it is a bit outdated. The suite was not the cleanest (especially the bathroom), was located next to the restaurant's toilet and did not have A/C. The other was nice and cozy but unfortunately located next to the building's ventilation or A/C installations which were very noisy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the hotel is lovely, with a lovely room with wood burner and our terrace with wisteria all over it, overlooking the pool and a beautiful italian landscape! and the staff were super kind, the spa is beautiful, built in a 1700's cellar and the restaurant with stunning view and delicious food, not to mention their wine!
Cons: the sound proof between rooms is non-existent: we could perfectly hear a man snoring the first night and the second one we heard the entire evening of the couple next to us, from their tv program to their morning activities.... so (to the hotel staff: )please DO something about it as it is really unpleasant!! Also we found a blood spot on one of our cushion, and when we notified the concierge asking them to change we were replied to look for a new one in the cupboard in the room: not a 4 stars hotel kind of reply..but apart from this, everything else was perfect
