Pros: Loved how clean it was, the staff was super friendly. We both got a free drink for waiting a little extra for our room, our room was spectacular. Valet staff were great too. The overall stay was awesome!!!
Cons: The bed was a little uncomfortable. But that's the only complaint from us.
Pros: So close to everything
Cons: Directions and signage are not easily understood or noticed
Pros: The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to every thing. Room was beautiful and clean. The shower felt so good after a long day on the beach in the sun. The beds were comfy but the pillows could be a little harder.
The staff was amazing...always pleasant.
The free breakfast was far more than we expected and was a great way of starting the day.
Love the valet parking. ...very convenient.
We will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Cons: Pillows, not that I hated them...just that they need to be alittle harder....not enough neck support.

Pros: Place is perfect!!! Great staff. Location is key. Easy walk to all of portsmouth. Yet a bit of rural feel to it.
I will 110% stay again.
Pros: quaint yet modern rooms, comfortable bedding and quiet place to rest
Cons: no bar
Cons: Rooms are very tiny, was able to hear neighbors walking - talking.
Not worth for the money spent.
Pros: I checked in for one night, but I was so impressed with my room and the location to downtown that I extended my stay an additional two nights. I am looking forward to coming back!
Pros: Beautiful restoration of historic building converted with fully modern conveniences. Comfortably furnished and located within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Cons: The public bathrooms need better signage.
At The Hotel Portsmouth, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Fort Constitution Historical Site. Free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms offer up nice touches like comfy beds, iPod docks, and designer toiletries.
We will defintely be back. Perfect location. We loved the fact that they offered us some of the local beer to sample.
Pros: Not your average hotel. Very cute with lots of character.
Cons: The view wasn't bad but to see the water would have made it perfect.
When you stay at Ale House Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Fort Constitution Historical Site. Guests will have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms offer up nice touches like iPads, iPod docks, and bathrobes.
Pros: We really liked the hotel. It was a convenient location, right off 95 on our way home from Maine. Clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: There was only ONE thing that bothered me and had we stayed more than one night would have driven me absolutely crazy: the floor above us. Our room was located on the bottem level of the hotel, room 125. The room directly above us has the creakiest floors which left me wide awake listening to the people above getting ready in the morning. Not a problem if they got up later or I was a deep sleeper, but the floor boards started their symphony at 5:30 am, far too early for my vacation.
Pros: The manager Steven went well above and beyond the service of any other hotel experience I've had and I travel quite frequently for work. I will certainly be back again. The breakfast is a great bonus!
Pros: The Port Inn in Portsmouth, NH is a well kept, clean place to stay. Convenient to the highway and to downtown Portsmouth with a very welcoming and friendly staff.
Pros: We loved everything about this place! When we drove up I thought we were going into a motel from the 50's, which wasn't a good thing in my opinion - I didn't have fond memories of those rooms. However, when we opened our door we loved the room! It was just like a boutique hotel room - it was really nice. The staff was awesome!
Cons: I probably wouldn't like walking to the office/breakfast room in the cold months, but in May it was perfect.
Pros: They were so good to our dog. We would stay there again

Pros: The place is so cute. The bathroom was really well-done. It was nice having a little porch to sit on and the rug on the porch was nice and soft.
Cons: The beds were okay. I prefer feather pillows.
The TV didn't work very well, the signal seemed to be really weak.
The decor of the room was cute in some places but could have been a lot better in other areas. There was a lot of empty white space where there was microwave, that made you feel like you were somewhere very inexpensive.
The breakfast was pretty bad - hard boiled eggs that were really hard to peel and plain white english muffins. There was some pound cake that they ran out of and the muffin I had was not very good. Coffee was pretty bad too.
Pros: The place was very clean accommodating and for a great price!
Cons: The shower was a bit small and there wasn't a fan to circulate the air conditioning around, but still was cool in the room.
Pros: We realy enjoyed our stay here. The staff is amazing and the room clean and confy. See you soon kittery inn and suites
Pros: Recently remodeled very clean , refrig. and microwave in room, very large new flat screen TV , small breakfast table and 2 chairs
Cons: Only a fitted sheet and comforter on bed. not much room in bath to put toiletries. and no electrical outlet un bath
Kittery Inn and Suites puts you within a 15-minute drive of Fort Constitution Historical Site. Guests can take a dip in the seasonal outdoor pool, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with balconies and LCD TVs.
Pros: Very clean and modern, friendly staff and accessable to dowtntown
Pros: Temporarily parked by entrance (20 minutes) while we got our room and unpacked. Valets were pleasant and professional.
Hotel location was excellent and Portsmouth is very walkable.
Cons: At this price, we expected a complimentary breakfast.
Expensive valet only parking. We found our own parking nearby for free.
Pros: I really enjoyed the food and cocktails while watching football. There was a server by the name Anca who took great care of me. The rooms where very clean and it's walking distance to everything.
Cons: Parking stinks
Pros: I would like to recognize Dimple Patel and Natalia for their exceptional service. Each encounter was so pleasant, welcoming and engaging. I travel often for work and never have I encountered such exceptional service on a consistent basis. Dimple and Natalia are what made my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Portsmouth Downtown enjoyable, not the hotel amenities nor the look of the hotel.
Pros: Very clean and a great location
Cons: Valet parking was the only option
Pros: Loved being close to everything, but by far the staff at the desk, valet, and housekeeping was above and beyond super nice...
Cons: I just wished I could have turned the heat down more than to 65, without turning it off. it was very hot in the room..
Cons: Unable to stay here because they had no confirmed reservation
Pros: Location was fantastic....right in the heart of Portsmouth.
Pros: Overall nice place
Cons: No bath tub!
Cons: I thought our room smelled and felt a bit musty.

Pros: The room was spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly. Good solid value.
Cons: Nothing to really complain about.
Cons: Breakfast staff had difficulty keeping up with demand. Items ran out throughout our brief visit. They made every effort when it was brought to their attention, but we had to bring things to their attention quite a bit. (The coffee is out. The fruit has run out. The waffle mix is empty. There is no syrup. The decaf is out. There is still no fruit. There are no bowls. The regular coffee is out again…)
Pros: It was a very quiet location but very close to downtown. The rooms were clean and large. The breakfast was very good.
Cons: The breakfast area was too small for the amount of people there at the time. The one woman cleaning the area could not keep up with getting the tables clean and restocking the food.
Pros: I enjoyed the stay, plan to come back.
Pros: Quiet setting among the trees.
Nice hot breakfast, at least on Sunday.
Cons: The towels in the pool area were tiny and as rough as 60 grit sandpaper.
The towels in the room were a little softer (200 grit) but still small.
Not something you can change now, but design would be better if bathroom were accessible without having to go through the bedroom.

Pros: The breakfast was great, staff was very nice, the room size was just right for us. Great location to downtown and parking garage since parking is off site. Will definitely choose this hotel again.
Pros: Great location within walking distance! We came as a staycation to go out with friends we haven't seen in a long time!
Cons: We had three different interactions with the staff, and all three were very disappointing. We had drinks with friends (who were also hotel guests) and asked for extra glasses, which came an hour later, and the staff member who dropped them off just had a terrible attitude. It was obvious he was unhappy about it. Came back from dinner and drinks to a very rude third shift member who told us we had a noise complaint and grilled us about who was staying in the room. We hadn't been in the room since 7pm, so I don't know how that was even possible. Then we were given a late checkout till 12:30pm and were getting ready when a very rude house keeper can to the door at 11am and told us we should have left already. We explained and she scowled and stormed off! Needless to say we will not be back.

Pros: It was clean, friendly staff, free hot and cold breakfast, 10 minutes away from downtown Portsmouth, free parking, indoor pool, exercise facility, minutes away from I-95, a food market around the corner if you forgot anything, about 12 minutes to Kittery ME.
Cons: It was a good hotel.
Pros: Loved the swimming pool, hot tub, soft pillows, shower!!
Cons: If they had more tag one shuttle it would've been perfect!
Pros: It was close to downtown Portsmouth.
Cons: The young woman checking me in didn't find my reservation for a long while... The room I was offered smelled of smoke, I complained to the manager and was promised a smoke free room for the next night. I was also promised that I didn't have to pay for the first night, which was correct. The next day I removed all my belongings before leaving the hotel, when I came back in the evening to receive my smoke free room, I was told that the hotel was full! The manager was away - and the man handling our matter could not promise another free night in the same room that smelled of smoke, where I stayed the previous night - although the plaque on the desk promised, "If you're not fully satisfied, your stay is on us". We decided to leave the hotel!!

Cons: Pool was under construction for renovations, and we had really been eagerly awaiting this part of the trip with two little kids.
No continental breakfast - only their restaurant with overpriced and far underperforming food.
Pros: Rooms were nice and clean.
Cons: I was on club level and the ice machine and people walking around were very loud. Did not feel private. Guy at the desk was very non customer service oriented. As I found with most people at that desk. Valet guy was very nice. Pay decent money you expect a little more courtesy. I do not expect to stay there again.
Pros: Very clean, nice room, great location
Cons: Fire alarm went off, girls soccer team staying near us was very loud and rude, yelling in hallway past quiet hours, the door to our room did not close all the way.

Pros: The beds were the best I've ever slept in - actually called the hotel & got the info to buy one direct from Simmons thru the Hotel Bed purchase program - apparently I'm not the only one who was amazed by these beds!
The rooms were quite large, well laid out, and included a good-sized refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was large and the shower was great.
The pool & hot tub are in the basement - so having some fun until 10 or 11pm is not going to disturb anyone's sleep.
Overall, fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn't expect all of this from a Comfort Inn. We will be staying at more in the future!

Pros: Rooms were really nice compare to some of these other very expensive hotels.
You also get a cute little welcome package and to top it off the breakfast was included.
Would definitely stay there again next time I'm up that way.
Pros: Location. Staff was amazing and friendly!
Cons: The room was very musty smelling. Smelled cigarette smell in the hallway.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The room smelled kind of musty and the walls were paper thin. We were woken up a few times throughout the night due to noise from people in other rooms. The cabinet unit that held the microwave was too far away from a power outlet so I had to put it on the floor in order to use it. If I had moved the cabinet closer to the outlet, it would've blocked our way to get to the door.
Pros: Staff were very friendly and the room was very clean!
Cons: The air conditioning was up too high when we entered the room. we had to open up the window to warm up!
Pros: Location. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Room could have been vacuumed a little better.
Pros: A funeral prompted our family's stay during one of the recent blizzards to hit the East Coast. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially when flight cancellations necessitated extending our stay. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. Given the weather and road conditions, it was nice that we didn't have to leave the premises in the morning since breakfast was included, and access to i-95/Rt 16 for our comings and goings was ideal. Great value!

Cons: I wish there were more selections on room service menu. Also a couple of lights in room were broken and clock was wrong time.
Pros: When the shuttle was on its regular schedule & not ferrying wedding guests who had missed their ride -- it was a nice service to downtown.
Cons: Room smelled like cats, AC was musty & dank.
Outrageous price for a room with absolutely no amenities. Are q-tips really too much to ask?
Pros: The staff and service were both excellent. The free shuttle to downtown Portsmouth makes it a great location.

Good location to the outlet stoors and the Kittery Trading Post.
Pros: The room was very clean and spacious. Coffee pot on in lobby 24 hrs.
Cons: The bath tub was a little old and tired looking but clean.
The staff was nice and the breakfast choices were decent. Mostly breads, though.
Pros: Quick access to shopping areas
Cons: Bed was hard and uncomfortable
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Nice pool.
We had our baby with us so we needed an extra towel and once we asked for it we got it. Also, we got a confirmation call the day before we were scheduled to check in. This hotel also offered a free cancellation up to 6pm the day of check in which was key for us. The staff are available 24/7! Great place, we would definately stay there again!
Pros: Affordable clean rooms, friendly staff, mostly comfortable bed. We liked that we had both an inside door to the free continental breakfast and a door to outside which we could park in front of. Minutes away from shopping and restaurants. We'd stay again!
Cons: not really
Enjoy your visit to Kittery with a stay at Coachman Inn. Guests can hang out at the outdoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, and freebies like breakfast, WiFi, and self parking are added perks.
Cons: We were given a corner room which we were very happy with as it is usually a more quiet location building wise.
Couldn't have been more wrong... Either an HVAC or some type of fan was located in the wall, behind a locked door, at the foot of our bed. It was EXTREMELY noisy. After several hours of trying to sleep, I called the front desk to request a room change. Yes, it was that noisy. No one answered at the desk after two attempts. I got dressed and went down to the lobby. No one could be found ! (It was 1am at that point). We ended up turning the heat down to its lowest setting and although we were freezing, it was somewhat more quiet. Not pleased at all.

Pros: Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I love Robbin! He's nice, helpful and courteous. I always look forward to seeing him at the desk.
Cons: Rooms are very clean, but could use some minor maintenance. My lamp shade was missing the nut that held the shade on, so it was tilted, second light in bathroom didn't work correctly, , minor things that are not always noticed.
Pros: We were staying in Portsmouth overnight with some friends. Great value for the price. Clean rooms & bathroom, comgortable bed.
Cons: A little dated, but again, a good value for the money.
Pros: Close to everything. Including the best liquor store in NH across the street. Air was nice and cold. Coffee was good too in the am.
Cons: Wish the bed was was a queen.
Pros: Clean night clerk was very helpful in suggesting places to eat
Cons: The people next door had the TV on loud all night - called front desk - they said they called the room but couldn't get hold of anyone. Moved us at 2:30 AM to another room - but next to air conditioning noise - then to another room where the traffic kept us awake all night. We were travelling from Halifax, NS to PA - driving all day and was to drive all day the next day - wasn't impressed with not getting any sleep. We usually stayed here with no complaints - too bad this happened at this time. Will look for another place next time.
Cons: was not as clean as it could have been
Pros: It was very clean.
Cons: Coffee ran out when I came downstairs.
Pros: Staff was very attentive and friendly.
Cons: Debris on floor. Mold on shower curtain. No drain plug for tub. Horrible pillows and breakfast
Pros: Low Rates
Awesome Friendly Service
Pros: Beds were comfy
Pros: Front desk staff very helpful with local info.
Cons: Breakfast is fairly basic
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: difficulty regulating room temperature
lack of warm blanket
paltry selection of food items available for continental breakfast
Americas Best Inns-Portsmouth puts you within a 15-minute drive of Fort Constitution Historical Site. Guests can visit the fitness center for a workout, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The hotel was in a good location - just a few minutes off of the highway.
Cons: The hotel pictures online make it seem like this is an indoor hotel, which I value for safety, traveling as a single female. While part of the hotel was indoor, there were at least two building that were outdoor like a motel. My room was also a nonsmoking room but it smelled like someone had just been smoking in it. When I called the desk over 5 times to switch rooms I could not get a hold of anyone.
Cons: Awful stay. Our room flooded. Water gushing from ceilings at 630 am

Pros: Clean and convenient hotel to I-95 with a very pleasant staff .
Very nice breakfast included .
Cons: Chair in room needed reupholstered
Tub very slow to drain.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice facilities, great price!
Pros: Friendly front desk. Clean and warm lobby, decorated nicely.
Cons: The beds are uncomfortable and there was a party going down next door.... Started at 10pm loud music and ? Wrestling. Very loud, called downstairs but didn't help it continued. Thankfully the fan in the room drowned out the noise a bit.

Cons: Couldn't sleep because of truck noise on 95.
Pros: No frills place to lay your head. For us, it was a halfway point to a Maine vacation week. Front desk clerk was accomodating, letting us borrow his personal information phone charger for a little bit when we'd mentioned we'd left ours at home.
Cons: Pool was down and drained, which bummed my kids out because they were looking forward to a swim when we pulled into town. Our basement room felt musty.
Pros: Right off the highway, easy to find.
Cons: Mice poop in the drawers. The room had a mildew/mold smell too.
Cons: Pool was not operating.Advertised a working pool and hot tub.
Pros: Kindness friendines of breakfast staff. Very hard worker. In room clean
Cons: Pool and hot tub have been broken for months!!!! Check-in staff staff stated it is on Web site but not listed. Also rug being replaced but not cleaned after day''s work.
Cons: The carpet and some of the furniture were wet as a result of a plumbing problem, yet they still put guests in the room. It smelled moldy. Pool and hot tub were closed due to the same issues. The steak was doing their best and stayed pleasant but the accommodations were decidedly substandard.
Cons: Staff hardly spoke English. The hotel smells like mold
Cons: Rooms small
Smell of chlorine in pool very strong .
Pros: clean and the location to downtown
Cons: the hot tub was broken
Cons: I was under the impression when reading online that we would be within walking distance to things but there was only a liquor store that was within walking distance. We were also put in a room that was near stairs which creaked loudly & were awaken multiple times because of this. Our room was clean but had a bad smell & there was mold on shower curtain
Pros: very nice staff.good location.
