it's very convinent because it is near the subway. room is quite clean
Room smelled like dirty socks and urine. The heat was about 80 degrees inthe room and we could not get window open for relief Carpet was filthy and all night there were strange shouts or screams with doors slamming. We were glad to get out of this really tacky dirty hotel . Never go there if you want peace and cleanliness. Same as above
It is well located close to Central park and the Timesquare subway route. The staff were also very nice and freindly. It's hotel prices for hostel accommdoation! The rooms were small and the ehating didnt work very well. It was often either too hot or too cold. The radiator in our room would wake us up at 6am without fail every morning by making loud ratteling noises.
Location is brilliant, just next to the subway, staff couldn't of been more helpful with luggage, our room standard and cleanliness was great, checking our limo was on schedule, giving us takeaway menus when we were tired etc. Room had everything you needed and was a decent size. Nothing really just that there was no lift but it wasn't an issue as the staff helped with our luggage.
Cocktail bar and happy hour. Beautiful decor. Well-furnished rooms. Extremely friendly and personal staff. Had to pay for breakfast. Rooms could have had better lighting (i.e. table lamps).
It's location, very convenient. The bar, unprofessional staff, no atmosphere. Expensive.
Good location, cute lobby, friendly staff Bathroom very small, but room was comfortable
Convenient for subway. Attractive decor. Helpful staff Room very small with inadequate storage and lighting. No elevator and a very narrow dark stairway.
comfortable bed, next to subway, cheap there was not hangers for clothes at all
This hotel said it had a refit, It was very dark and rooms were shabby, The plus side was the staff were fantastic. Also it's quite a long way out, On the ourskirts of Harlem.
Nothing! The worst hotel in my life ever. They should change the category to one star. The hotel is old, dirty, noisy and the staff are not interested in help you. The guests were are strange, like drug addicts. I saw policemens going there loooking for people. You can watch porn movies in tv, like a motel. Don't go there. It's better pay more and stay in midtown area.
Great place to stay if you are traveling alone to NYC Na
you expect little of a hostel in N-Y city and this one made the $40 a lot more than just a night in a budget accomodation! I have been in far more expensive hostels in the City and they are no match for this one. Definitely recommended.
+ Convenient location near 1 line or just a bit further to B and C lines + Locker was larger enough for 1 backpack, a grocery bag of stuff, and a medium-sized duffel bag. And still extra room, too! + All staff I encountered were really nice and helpful! + I left my pants in the shower stall for probably over 12 hours and they ended up in the lost and found. What a bonus! + Chargers *inside* the lockers and near the bed are super helpful and pretty safe
Comparatively doesn't worth for the money your service and facilities. Elevator is deadly experience. Breakfast location is unbelievable and terrible. Not clean at all. Toilet tap handle bath shower was broken since the moment we entered and no body was bother to fixed and I was suffered lot with my kids for five days. Minimum facilities at least should provide for the people who are paid. And receptionists must show more profitionalism. Drinking hot water facilities in the room at least. ? Deadly elevator. Breakfast room location very danger full of electric wires room and no body bother to clean. Only WiFi was good.
1. Can't beat the price for NYC. 2. Location excellent - Upper West Side, one block from Broadway, near Columbia University. 3. I arrived at 2am (two hours later than expected), and front desk staff was there waiting for me - can't expect that from AirBnB or any other such private arrangements. 4. Style is typical of NYC apartment buildings on the Upper West Side. 1. Internet was not working when I needed it the morning of my check-out, though front desk was aware of the problem and had already contacted the provider to come reset the system. 2. Left luggage room in the basement is a bit dingy, but served its purpose.
The Morningside is in a GREAT location, very close to the northwest corner of Central park. Morningside is a dump and in serious need of renovation. My room leaked water when someone above took a shower!
1) room was a decent size for Manhattan 2) price was reasonable for Manhattan 3) very close to Columbia University, many eateries on Broadway, and the 1 subway line. 4) bathroom, although "shared" with other rooms is entirely private once you step inside and close the door behind you. The couple days I was there, the bathroom was always available when I wanted it; never occupied by anyone else. 5) WiFi was fine. 6) The room I had seemed quiet. 1) Strictly enforced check-out time of only 11am is stressful. 2) Bathroom, although entirely clean and fine, was a bit old and nothing special. 3) Front-desk staff, although never problematic in my limited experience, often seem like they wish they could find another job.
I am sorry but all i liked was the staff, very friendly and helpful when needed. The beds were very small and not very comfortable, there was only one toilet at the end of the hall and the showers, also at the end of the hall, were disgusting
Awesome staff, nice rooms, relaxed area, lots of fun! Im going back
The staff was friendly, the room was clean but small. The showers on our floor did not work so we had to use showers on other floors. The tiolets and dryer were very loud. The doors are very modern with digital-card (no keys). Close to subway-station and delis (food, drinks). Breakfast was poor (coffee, flakes, bread, bad juice..) Showers, breakfast, the heating wasn't working most of the time (fortunately it was around 10-20 degrees in october..)
Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. There was an upbeat, friendly atmosphere in the hostel. It's in a nice, safe area of New York, within easy reach (about 5 mins stroll) of the subway and Central Park. The breakfast was nice in the mornings. Very uncomfortable beds. Showers and toilets were few and far between. $4 charge to store bags after you've checked out, even if you only need to store them for a couple of hours. We paid the fee and left our bags for 3 hours and when we came back they had just been slung to the back of the storage a rea and other bags had been chucked on top. I wouldn't have minded that happening if the storage had been free (after all, the bags were about to be flung around by an airline) but if you pay someone to look after your property, I think you're entitled to expect more care than that to be taken
Staff is very helpful, good breakfast.
It's a pretty cheap deal, 30 per night in the 4 person room, and i think there are even cheaper rooms with more people in them. You we'll make a lot of new friends and they have activities going on like stand-up comedy and organized nights to go to the clubs around. They place is run by international staff, there's a latino guy with cocky behavior. Rest of the people are nice and willing to help. My key never worked, i had to go like 4 times to the front desk to make it work (of course there was always the cocky latino dude there.... really annoying, he even pretends to speak good english and italian... he couldn't be farer). Rooms are really tiny, the 4 person room is really small, u dont have place to put your suitcase. There are two lockers for 4 people!!.. does it make sense?, not to me!. So basically is first come first served. Bathroom .... it's better if u don't have to use them.
