7.0 Good
Pros: A step back in time...beautiful views and easy access to Acadia National Park
Cons: Tub had no place for soap/shampoo. Old window in bathroom didn’t shut well. Always was getting the shower curtain blown on me (hate that). It also would switch unexpectedly between hot and cold. But, it’s an old inn. 1899 was the rebuild after the fire. So, I guess some lack of modern expectations is to be expected?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic Maine inn! The view from our room was gorgeous and the room itself was quite comfortable and quiet. We ate breakfast every day at the hotel- delicious buffet- and cocktails and appetizers every evening. We had two dinners at the Inn- we had to try the lobster stew and popovers which were outstanding, and then branched our the second night and tried steak and other seafood - all of which was terrific. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and personable and the close proximity to Acadia National Park made our daily treks there so easy. We’d love to return to Mt. Desert Island and would definitely stay at the Asticou Inn again! The gardens were also quite beautiful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location near Acadia was amazing and the staff was so much fun. Loved chatting late night with the bartender in the lounge and the front desk staff: they were great. We love older historic properties and this fit the bill!
Cons: Older hotel so totally understandable but temperature control was a challenge, particularly since we were there in early fall when the days are so changeable.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfasts ( included) were good and dinners were tasty. Liked having the Asticou Azalea Garden right across the street and The Thuya Garden up the street. Good proximity to Acadia National Park.
Cons: Where do I start??? Room on the 4 the floor with no elevator service !!!, hot water availability kinda dicey ( to which the staff's response was " the hotel is 130 years old"), water pressure in shower almost non-existent. A one and done.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great, close to Acadia Park.
Cons: There was no air conditioning, there were bugs in the room and there was not really an elevator. There was a very old elevator that had to be operated by staff and most times, staff were busy doing other things.

Acadia Gateway Motel - Trenton - Building
4
7.8 Good (284 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Acadia Gateway Motel in Trenton, you'll be by the ocean, within a 15-minute walk of Wild Acadia Fun Park and Kisma Preserve. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This is a great option for travelers who intend to spend all day at Acadia national park and don't want to spend that much money on a hotel they are never in. Not a great place for folks who are looking for beautiful views, luxurious accommodations, and lots of amenities. The rooms are modest, but clean, and perfectly fine for sleeping, showering, and storing luggage.
Cons: It is a good choice for people looking to cut expenses on their trip. Everything is very basic and no frills. I'd stay there again, but I'd pack my own soap/shampoo bc what they provided wasn't something I'd use at home. There's no fridge. Towels are thin. Takes 20-30 minutes to get to most spots in Acadia park. The free donuts in the AM are entemenns. You aren't going to feel pampered, but if this is the price point you are looking for, you can't really expect more.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff. Clean facilities.
Cons: Shower water pressure was very low.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly, the place was clean and the bed was comfy. Accommodations are small but that was great for us, we were only there to sleep and shower. The bathrooms are tiny and need some repairs. Our floor slanted in the bathroom making the toilet slanted as well. We had some good laughs about it though. If you're pretty laid back and looking for a cheap place to sleep after a long day of some major sight seeing and such, this is the place!
5.1 Okay
Pros: Closeness to the event we were going tol
Cons: Cleaning was not up to par. Bathroom - toilet was not wiped down at base and on rim, dust and dirt showing. Cobwebs on walls and in corners; A/C unit had a lot of dust on it.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location was so near to Acadia and bar harbor was comfy and clean good coffee and donuts too
Cons: The toliot would slide when sat on

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The property was very close to Acadia National Park. Great choice for budget and solo travelers (like me). Well-run, clean, affordable.
Cons: The bed linens seemed old, and the mattress was fairly comfortable but I feel could have been better and could be updated/replaced. There is an airport next door that, on occasion, made noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay very much. This room had everything one would need. Very Cozy with a nice view of Cadillac Mt
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Could not make long distance calls from the room phone.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff
Cons: Very bad wifi connection in our room and right next to main road.
7.9 Good
Pros: Well located, about 30mn from Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park Conform to the pictures
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was convenient for visiting Acadia National Park.
Cons: Tiny, dingy room; not all outlets worked; could see outside on all door edges; highway noise was very loud. Definitely not worth 3 stars--maybe 1-1/2 or 2.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and clean
Cons: I think the mattresses are due to be changed. Both beds had old, not very comfortable mattresses.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and staff were great.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
6.3 Good
Pros: We drove in after dark and the hotel was easy to find.
Cons: The hotel is located between the busy highway and the airport. The early morning flights, even in the Fall, start taking off at daylight. The rooms are small but adequate. The bed was hard and the pillows very think.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: There was no breakfast included. We were about 8 miles from Acadia.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staffs
Isleview Motel and Cottages - Trenton - Bedroom
6
8.6 Excellent (201 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Trenton, Isleview Motel and Cottages is within a 10-minute drive of Wild Acadia Fun Park and Acadia National Park. Featured amenities include coffee/tea in a common area, microwave in a common area, and a water dispenser. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.8 Good
Pros: We were looking for a cheap motel and feel we got a good deal. The building was old (expected) but in good condition and clean. The bathroom was a comfortable size and the bed was also comfortable. The password protected wifi worked well. The location was conveniently just outside of Acadia National Park. Overall our stay was pleasant and comfortable.
Cons: On the downside, we expected traffic so close to Acadia National Park, but turning onto the busy highway was more difficult than anticipated. The traffic noise didn't bother us but could be a problem for a light sleeper. There was no place in the bathroom except the toilet seat to put our stuff and not enough space for hanging clothes.
Open Hearth Inn - Trenton - Building
7
8.8 Excellent (108 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Open Hearth Inn in Trenton, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island Oceanarium. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay for a visit to Acadia. I've stayed at three different inns both on and around Mount Desert Island, and this is the nicest one I've stayed at of the three. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, check-in was easy, and overall I thought it was a great value. Would definitely stay again!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The price was the draw, and we had a suite upstairs that was very quiet. It included TV, microwave, fridge and was comfortable. We had A/C and the bath was tiny, but very clean and adequate. We were surprised to find freshly baked muffins (delicious) and a basket of fruit in the morning. The owner was delightful and friendly. For the price it was perfect for us. This hotel offers a variety of types of rooms, definitely no cookie cutter here!
Cons: No good way to enjoy breakfast in the room. We brought yogurt, fruit and rolls and had to balance them on our laps on a sofa. Could have used paper towels or a 'bar cloth' around the coffee maker for spills.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable with fridge and microwave. Nice hot tub available in the evenings.
Cons: A bit cramped especially the bathroom.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly - met them at checkout. we came in late and an envelope was left at the office door addressed to us and it had the key, room details and the parking space assignment. room was a small cabin but clean and comfy.
Cons: everything was good. not sure whether office had brewed coffee, we could not notice. it would have been great to have coffee to grab and go.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We didn't have our breakfast at Open Hearth Inn.
Cons: Everything is ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just coffee and muffins (homemade) were enough. I bring my own breakfast food, so the coffee and muffins are just a nice bonus to take when I go off for the day - a mid-morning snack.
Cons: Some kind of a night stand would have been good. I created my own by using a tray table that I brought with me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm delicious muffins every morning were delightful. The hot tub was invigorating and clean. The cabin #7 was roomy, tidy and clean and very relaxing! The owner was pleasant and kind. The grounds were well manicured and beautiful! Great Wi-Fi reception. We would stay there again if ever in the area!
Cons: The busy road the inn sits next to but it gave us conversation and some things to ponder.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice little hut, wonderful hot tub
Cons: horrible mattress
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were right on the edge of Acadia National Park, allowing us to explore different areas of it each day. We had a large room with sofa, armchair, dining area, kitchenette and massive bed. The fresh muffins every morning were very much appreciated and use of the hot tub every evening after long days walking was very relaxing. The owner's knowledge and information was very useful.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: clean, well furnished, comfortable bed
Cons: bathroom very small (cramped-wash basin in living room) old style TV (not HD) no vending or ice
5.7 Okay
Pros: Room was clean and affordable
Cons: Amenities and hospitality. - no hooks for towels - no info sheet on wifi info or property amenities - no ice on property - shower head didn’t have good pressure and switch between shower and faucet became stuck, so couldn’t switch between the two - housekeeping stopped by and replaced the towels but didn’t take the trash or provide more soap beyond the tiny bar included on Day 1 - proprietors weren’t very personable - location loud due to noise from nearby highway
Lindenwood Inn - Southwest Harbor - Building
9
9.2 Excellent (174 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Lindenwood Inn in Southwest Harbor, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Acadia National Park and Wendell Gilley Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was different every morning but since I don't like different types of breakfast, they always just fixed me eggs. I appreciate the fact that they were good to cater to my needs. Nina was amazing.
Cons: The inn is an older place that could use a little upgrading. Our room was not in the main house and the door had an ancient deadbolt lock that broke so we couldn't get out of our room. The manager had to hand me a screwdriver through the bathroom window so I could remove the lock. My husband thought there should be a small dresser in the room under the tv, which was mounted on the wall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a cozy B&B on the quiet side of the island. The staff were very friendly and helpful in giving advice for dinner restaurants nearby. I liked the “help yourself” style of a continental breakfast and then the hot meal option of the day. Loved every dish!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We checked in pretty late, but still had some time to take advantage of the outdoor jacuzzi. It was perfect, exactly what we needed after a long day. The staff was extremely friendly and breakfast was exceptional!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff super friendly and personable. Breakfast was delicious. Very comfortable and welcoming environment!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Milan- the concierge was excellent, personable and friendly - when we had trouble with our fireplace he was right there! Breakfasts were excellent and it was an easy walk to town.
Cons: The house itself is a little worn and bedrooms small but it was comfortable and clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Milian was a great host . Breakfast buffet was perfect and all our needs were met in a cheerful way. We can’t wait to return.

Pros: The room was nicely decorated
Cons: The room was too small and so was the bed. Very tight quarters for 2 people. Dirty glasses and cups were not picked up when the room was serviced. Parking was off premises so you had to unload/load vehicle in front of building and then move your vehicle to the municipal lot.

Pros: On the "quiet" side. Easy drive to all attractions. Comfortable room and common areas. Staff is very welcoming, attentive, and informative. Breakfast is a special event each day.
Cons: Stairs to the upstairs rooms are a little steep (watch your head!). Shower/bathtub needs updating, but is extremely clean and sufficient as is.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great.. The room wss attractive and comfortable.
Cons: The key to get inside did not work well and we thought we'd be left on the doorstep one night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Attentive staff Hearty breakfast Clean bathroom with an air refresher spray
Cons: Amenity not renewed Room doesn't have a refrigerator
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our rooms and the overall ambiance of the inn. The breakfast on the front porch was wonderful, and the innkeepers were attentive and provided valuable information about sights and experiences we shouldn't miss at Acadia. Coffee was available beginning at 7, which was a plus, and the inn is clearly run in such a way as to minimize its environmental impact, which is important to us. There are a number of nice restaurants nearby. We had an awesome dinner at Cafe 2, which was highly recommended by the innkeeper.
Cons: For some reason, we had the impression from the inn's website that the inn had a water view, which it didn't. When we arrived around sunset, we had planned to sit on the front porch with a glass of wine to enjoy the view, but then realized there was a row of homes between us and the water.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was very good, location was also good
Harbor Ridge - Southwest Harbor - Bedroom
12
9.1 Excellent (134 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Harbor Ridge is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and the accommodation is really lovely
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This location was perfect for our family. King size bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you need including a lobster pot, the resort provided dish soap, dish washer soap & laundry soap for 2 loads. The place was very clean & in very good condition. There is a trail you take putting Southwest Village in walking distance.
Cons: AC only available on the main floor, the bedroom on top floor took a while to cool down the day we arrived was 80's.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The activities, the swimming pool. The national park.
Cons: I liked everything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Since it was off-season, the value was great. The condo was large and quiet.
Cons: The location was perfect for us as it is off the beaten path. Those wanting to be near the town night be disappointed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Third time we have stayed at Harbor Ridge for Thanksgiving week. Like that you have affordable vacancies for us, are close to downtown SW Harbor and to the quiet side hiking trails. We used the swimming pool on a snowy Thanksgiving morning and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Cons: Cleanliness: the hot tub was hot enough, but the water was murky and somewhat frothy first thing in the morning, even without the jets being used. We stood in the tub for a few moments, then decided against it.... Also, while stripping our bed in preparation for leaving, we wondered out loud to each other if the blankets and bedspreads were recycled for next occupants use, or if they actually get washed after each guest as well as the sheets. (Check out instructions asked only that we place sheets and towels in the entranceway, saying nothing about the fate of the bedcovers.....ewwwwwe)
