Gym was impressive. Staff was accommodating. Very comfortable stay. I wish the wifi was free in the room. The in room movies seemed super expensive.
Great location for touring Old Town Alexandria and Washington DC due to it's prime location across from the King Street Station on the Washington Metro. Hilton Alexandria Old Town also has great hotel facilities such as a Starbucks on site as well as their own restaurant. Hilton Alexandria Old Town is situated at one end of King Street allowing for easy access to Alexandria Old Town Restaurants. Hilton Alexandria Old Town charged $35 nightly parking fee. This keeps me from giving Hilton Alexandria Old Town a higher rating.
Our package included parking, breakfast and Wi-Fi. We have stayed here probably 8 years in a row for an annual visit to Washington. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the bedding. The breakfast was a buffet and had a great variety of items. The Starbucks in the lobby is convenient. Overall we love this property and will stay there again, mainly because the Metro station is across the street from the hotel. On nearly every visit, there is a glitch with housekeeping. On this trip we returned to our room in the afternoon hot and tired, and looking forward to a cool rest. We had not received housekeeping services that day. When I spoke to a housekeeper, she told me we were listed as checked out on her sheet. We got clean towels from her and declined to have her clean the room in order to have some quiet time. We left our recyclable bottles on the desk, but they were not picked up over a period of 3 days.
Hotel staff was helpful, rooms were well appointed and comfortable, conveniently located to shopping restaurants and metro.
We liked the fact that the rooms were very clean and comfortable. All employess were very friendly and helpful. They were never to busy to help you.
The trolley and metro station was across the street, breakfast was enjoyable. Hotel was a bit pricey without a walk in shower.
The hotel bellman/concierge/general nice guy was awesome - I believe his name was William (but could be wrong)...he was fabulous. Helped us to learn the Metro system as I was traveling with my college aged daughters and we had never used it prior to visiting. He escorted us to the station across the street and told us what the best value for riding through out the weekend. He was just awesome!!! The location was good if you were not doing anything in Alexandria -- as we found very few places to eat and absolutely no shopping without using the Metro to get there. Using the Metro is the way to go!!! No car needed for the most part!!! It was a very nice hotel and would stay there again if returning to the area. Only a few businesses around for dining or nothing for shopping...would have to take Metro or walk a great distance to find anything. Otherwise was a great hotel!!!!
The location Had to ask for extra blankets...bedding was not warm enough
The staff was very helpful and location great The parking garage was terrible , it was almost impossible to fit a mid size car into a parking spot. The water in the shower wasn't HOT , no matter when you showered .
Desk staff very helpful and friendly. Very clean hotel and descent breakfast. Rooms need a little speicing up. Hotel needs better options for late nite snacking.
Location to everything The front desk was very unprofessional. Didn't respond to your needs. Never had such bad customer service at a Hampton Inn before.
Proximity to the Metro was perfect for getting into DC without a hassle. Close to shopping, and a free shuttle to Old Town! Friendly staff and good breakfast. Parking spaces were very small and tough to navigate
Liked the pre check in service via phone, vouchers for housekeeping, helpful staff, great beds, set up of room
The hotel scheduled a wedding which lasted well into the morning hours, keeping many guests from being able to sleep, including us. There were many complaints to the switchboard, but the manager was not present, and the employees were not empowered to do much.
Roomy, location, reasonably clean, decent service, frequent shuttles, next to premium 24hr grocery, bike share across the street. Metro was 10 minute hike away.
Beautiful room! Very spacious and enjoyable. Two TVS!!! :)
Room was comfortable and the amenities were great! Parking garage elevators were under construction, which meant a lot of walking from garage to lobby.
The location, the surrounding stores, the room, the balcony (cost less than $10 extra) and the balcony view, the customer service, the cleanliness...no complaints at all. We were VERY IMPRESSED and will be back when in town!
Location was great She didn't like the small towels. We stayed at a Courtyard Marriott in Baltimore and the had huge towels.
King Size bed and suite very comfortable. Keys worked inconsistently for garage & Club Room, and at check out, I was unable to change from the original credit card I offered, to a different one I preferred. Pillows too soft Absolutely HATED the limitation of TV channels available so paid for movies could be pushed on guest.
executive lounge breakfast was good very nice suite of rooms staff very helpful noisy fan is the shower and in the hall
Overall the experience was pleasant, rooms are nice, front desk help is always very nice. Your shower water pressure is excellent and a big deal :). Rooms are satisfactory. Your bar area seemed a little blah. It could use a bit of a face lift. The bartender was also not bad, but slow and not engaging.
The location was convenient to downtown Washington DC, and the desk staff was very positive and cheerful. The room was lightly cleaned, when it needed a complete scrub-down. There is mildew on the fire-sprinkler head, and the paint looks like a lowest-bidder job. The A/C unit sounded like an idling truck. I was given a room at check-in that had an unregistered guest in it -- maybe a "friend" of the housekeeping staff, since it's obvious their primary effort isn't cleaning rooms.
The complementary full breakfast is outstanding and one of the key reasons we have stayed their repeatedly. I encouraged others in the 800+ persons competition to stay here. The free shuttle to the Gaylord CC is fantastic. Firgerator & microwave in room was great. Staff mostly was helpful. On last day stay no sausage on Mondays breakfast following long Thanksgiving weekend. Comfort Inn Driver to Gaylord CC on Monday repeatedly complained he had to come in on his "day off". Thus he didn't open the doors, open or help load luggage in to the van. And this was the time I hand 2 awkward bags. YET he did help on previous trips. I was his only passenger too! He just sat in his van at pick up and delivery! I gave him a $2 tip because I DID appreciate the transportation. As a small business owner for 32 years "consistent service is paramount. Yet helpful customer service needs to be extended to the end and ALWAYS.
Staff did a fabulous job at the free breakfast buffet. They were efficient, friendly, and cheerful amidst a sea of families there over the July 4th weekend. 8 floors, but elevators are extremely efficient. Beautiful atrium. Very close to King Street Metro Station for easy access to DC attractions. Also right off King Street, the main drag in Old Town Alexandria. About a mile's worth of interesting shops and restaurants to walk down to get to the Potomac River. Great place to stay! TV channels somewhat limited and a bit fuzzy.
Arrived by train at 915AM on check in day, expecting to leave bags and check in later, what a pleasant surprise to find out a room was ready and we could move in. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfast was a great start to our day, and was by no means meager pastries and fruit, but eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, French toast,, oatmeal, grits, and more! The nightly managers reception with drinks, and snacks was a great touch to the end of the day. The hotels location could not be more convenient for travel, Amtrak, and D.C. Metro stations mere steps away, in addition to the The King Street free Trolley. I saw many families enjoying the Hotels amenities as well. We did not park here but the price seemed comparable or less than other area hotels, the price for our Amtrak tickets was about what it would have cost to park, without fuel costs or a stressful drive from Norfolk. Nothing fell short of our expectations, and we will likely make this trip again.
This hotel does a wonderful free Breakfast with made to order food and a very efficient staff. The manager receptions at night are also done very well. Good location for access to Old Town Alexandria and the DC Metro. The property charges $28 per night for parking in the facility underneath the hotel. There really is no other available parking for this hotel. The parking is dangerous and has overally small spaces in between large concrete pillars. Not only are you paying too much but the parking is impossible. Too many handicapped rooms. We were assigned one when we didn't want one at all. We also were not given the bed type on our reservation. Management didn't care. We were part of a party of 13 people staying at the hotel for an event.
We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist, her name was Leah. She was very helpful in checking us in.
Room were spacious and quiet, provided it overlooks the back of the hotel. Large lounge, kitchenette and other facilities ok. Good breakfast, included in the room rate. No bath robe, no slippers, no shoe shine and a frighteningly empty fridge, i.e. no minibar in the room, bring your own. Rooms on the railway side are quite noisy.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Across the street from the convention center The heater in my room rattled loudly, waking me up several times a night. The door connecting my room to my neighbors was not well-sealed or did not provide much of a sound barrier--I was disrupted from sleep and work multiple times by neighbors loud conversation.
Good range of breakfast items; breakfast seating area is nicely decorated. Hotel was quiet (no street noise) and perfectly located for a conference across the street at the Gaylord Resort. Parking nearby. Did not understand that I needed to keep my room key after hotel checkout to be able to get out the parking garage (since parking fee was put on my hotel bill). Had to back out of garage exit (with other cars behind me), repark, walk back to hotel to figure this out. Bed not very comfortable (mattress saggy and needs replacing).
Breakfast was adequate at best. Then again, all Hampton Inn breakfasts are that way.
I like the fact it was right next to the Gaylord No refrigerator, numerous guests were complaining. No cups only coffee. Bathroom was not stocked. The walk from the garage to the hotel is less than pleasant. The garage is a public garage. Minimal parking, one elevator. Trying to move luggage from elevator across a street with numerous other people parking and riding elevator. Very small loading area in front of hotel. Not what I am use to when it comes to Hampton Inn.
Beautiful new room, clean and modern. Needs a mini fridge and microwave.
With the storm passing through I was bumped from my hotel across the street. The staff was very friendly and the night auditor was extremely helpful getting me a cab in the morning even with the icy roads.
5 star service Nothing
The staff was great, super friendly and very helpful. The free breakfast was absolutely the best I have had in a hotel, and I have to say, most of the time when you get a free breakfast, you know right where to get it because it looks like a cafeteria. I had to ask where to get the breakfast because all I saw was what looked like a beautiful comfortable restaurant with nice atmosphere, comfy chairs, flat screen tvs. Well, that was the place for the free breakfast! I loved that you were getting a free breakfast in a much more luxurious atmosphere.
Staff was confrontational and not helpful at all.
The bed was very comfortable and it was so easy to fall asleep in. The staff were helpful in answering questions that I had and made the stay that much more enjoyable. Would have liked to have had bacon for protein rather than just the sausages.
Location. Across the street from an event I was attending Lobby restrooms filthy
We liked the decor, the fact it is very pet friendly (we love dogs), the nod toward kids and their needs. It also has a very favorable location in terms of the riverfront, restaurants, free trolley service (up/down King St) and the staff is very helpful. We also felt that if you want to visit Wash DC then staying in Alexandria and taking the Metro to/from the city is a wise move and very convenient. The entire length of King Street, from the riverfront to the Metro station is very charming. The only downside we found was the distance from the Metro (for use traveling into Wash DC), however the hotel makes up for that by offering its shuttle to Reagan National Airport 1x/hr, and you can take a free Alexandria trolley from the Metro to/from the hotel after 11am. With small kids, walking to/from the Metro is too far (~1mi) and in harsh summer/winter weather the walk would not be realistic for small children. That being said, the free trolley is a great option.
The location was in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Restaurant was good. Beautiful decor and rooms.
Wine happy hour and morning coffee were great. Late night snacks available from the kitchen. Friendly desk staff. The family staying in the room adjoined to mine allowed their kid to throw a full-on screaming temper tantrum for two straight hours starting at 0600 Saturday morning. The walls and doors were definitely not thick enough to muffle any of that.
Staff was extravagant in their welcome and room was beautiful. Great location along King St, right in the middle of things. One drawback: parking lot adequate but not well maintained. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Wonderful clean beautiful room. Would happily stay here again.
Loved the decor! Staff was nice and friendly!!!
Incredibly friendly staff, immaculate facility, and excellent location. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly helpful and professional. We had a great time. The location is awesome as well, putting you 3 blocks from the waterfront (and only 7 blocks from Hank's Oyster Bar). The staff are very experienced customer service representatives. Rachel, our front desk rep., was pleasant and nice from start to finish. I urge you to take advantage of the 1700-1800 wine sampling as well.
Loved the styling of the location. Bed was quite uncomfortable, towels were rough, and the sheets were not as clean as we would've liked.
Location for easy access to the metro and the diversions and restaurants on King Street. My room was close to the back and ground floor. Consequently I was awakened by the early morning dumpster pickup.
I enjoyed my stay at Kimpton Lorien Hotel and Spa in Alexandria, VA. The hotel was conveniently located in Alexandria's Old Town neighborhood and a short uber ride from DC and Arlington. The hotel had the feel of a high end boutique hotel. My room was clean and the front desk staff members were helpful and friendly. There's a spa on site I unfortunately didn't get to visit during this stay however the room service food was excellent and the breakfast across the terrace from the hotel was amazing. I'd highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the DC Metro area. It wasn't super expensive either I paid about $120 for a week night stay. I liked this hotel a lot, nothing to write her.
Hip Decor, clean, comfortable.
i found a real good offer - 92 dollars a day for a double room
Great hotel very poor housekeeping Our room was not cleaned after requesting twice Room was not cleaned till after 8:00pm. At time of check out Valet pulled up our car and it was badly damaged. At time of payment I was charged for parking $35.00 each day After I complained about damage to car I wasn't charged for parking. I paid my bill over $500.00 I asked to see manager and complained about room not being cleaned until after 8
The hotel was very central to points of interest (for me) ie historical sites, shopping, gay neighborhood. All within walking distance. Fantastically clean. No negatives
Decor and bed. As is usually the case in the USA, most staff less than fully competent.
Very nice hotel, good location, staff very helpful.
Sufficient for a stay over night.
great room, location, cleanliness no hot shower
My wife and I prefer boutique hotels, with heavy emphasis on set and setting. this place creates an environment that transports you from the norm of your life to the fantastical. Highly recommend this hotel! Was very romantic, upgrade to a king studio as we did, or better. Such a magical place! The only comment I would have is to park you car directly across the street from the hotel where the parking is around $20 a day instead of teh hotels $38 dollar valet service.
Very modern and clean facilities. The staff. Location
Decent room but the no coffee and breakfast doesn't seem like a big deal. Until you're there. Then it's super annoying. There's a Days Inn near here on Pershing Drive, I'd stay there overeating here.
stair access only to second building. Terrible set up for the handicapped
Price was pretty good for DC during spring break. Close to subway. Wireless was extremely slow and intermittent. They felt is was our computer but we had several...they could not all have issues. The room was moldy causing a lot of allergy issues.
Very clean hotel in good neighborhood. Arlington is very nice and is easily accessible from the hotel. Compared to other hotels in the area is very affordable. The staff was also real nice and if you need to store your luggage after you check out for sightseeing you can for free. There is a decent walk to the nearest metro rail station to get into DC and the surrounding areas and the highway can be a little noisey. No breakfast included.
Location If you want to sleep past 7am avoid room 221. It's next to the maid's "staging area" ,so starting around 7 there's loud banging around & talking. The walls are quite thin.
The room was clean and quite. Close to DC. Friendly staff. Took 30 min for staff to get reservation. No tv remote. No breakfast
Location Tour buses took over the parking lot
The rooms were reasonably updated, good cable tv options, and the pool was terrific (lifeguard on duty, so I got to swim laps while the kids splashed. . ). Our rooms were actually quiet, everything was clean, and the staff quite helpful. I particulalry enjoyed the fresh coffee in the lobby (though missed having a hearty French Roast for much of the trip). Most of the restaurant choices are a few blocks away, so we got some exercise when tired of Ledo Pizzeria and diner. Wish the pool was open earlier in the day, and it could stand some spiffing up.
I loved being so close to the metro. I found the room and bed comfortable and adequate. The fridge and microwave made it so we were able to provide most of our own food, which was a plus for us. The prices were the best we could find so close to downtown. You can also easily walk to the Iwo Jima memorial. No elevator anywhere near our room, so you had to carry everything to the second floor (not that atypical in my experience). The pool was a big letdown. It would have been a big perk for our young children. The water was cold; the whole pool room was so foggy in the evening that you couldn't even see across the pool; the shower curtain in the pool changing room was covered in dead gnats, and the ceiling was covered in condensation that dripped on you as you changed.
The rooms we're clean, it is not too far from the main points of interest-$15 taxi ride or a cheaper metro ride takes about 25 minutes We called the hotel to say that the first person from our group to arrive will not be the one whose name is on the reservation to make sure there is an easy check in, only to find out that the hotel cannot find the reservation even though we received an email confirmation. Saying that there is no reservation at all we we're told to call the booking website, we're places on hold by the hotel for a long time before we finished a sentence, and overall it was really hard to edible this and took us 50 minutes of calls to figure it out and find the reservation.
This Best Western is very run down. There are cracks in the bathroom walls, mold or dirt in between tile. The room didn't smell clean, nor feel it. I would prefer hotels not spray room freshener (which they didn't), however it had a stale smell. The first room we were given was #119, whatever you do, don't take this room, it is next to the laundry room and the noise and banging from the machines is not tolerable- this room should be a storage unit- not fit for humans. ( it is also right under a staircase to the second floor- kids were running up and down alot. Second worst experience at a hotel/motel ever!
Close proximity to the metro. The hotel is not far from the metro, but it is also right off the side of the highway, making it quite loud and a little bit of an eyesore. When I arrived, the staff seemed a bit confused on how to check me in. They allowed us to "check" our bags for the afternoon while we traveled. The pizza place next door seemed enticing at first, but quickly turned us off by the looks of it. Appearance is everything sometimes. Very poorly cleaned room. Hair left in the hair dryer. Shower looked like it had not been cleaned. Overall, poor quality. The room was really warm, despite efforts to turn down the heater. Would not stay here again and would not suggest to a friend. Way overpriced for value.
Room was nice I did not like that they did not offer complimentary valet. Had to park on street. Needed room service late, nothing to eat late. Charged for coffee . Nickel and dime us. Never go back.
Price was reasonable for the area. Easy walk and transportation to King St. Nice walk/ park along the Potomac River Long walk to the Metro through some dubious neighborhoods. No breakfast. Fees and Parking are out of control, but that seems to be a DC area issue.
Homey feeling U need to install safty box in the rooms
Room was perfect for what we needed Had to pay for parking when it used to be free. Expensive
room was big nice view No free wifi And ice machine on 5th floor did not work
My husband and I used this hotel for our recent vacation to DC. It was in a nice area. They had a free shuttle bus to the airport which is where you catch the metro. All in all it was pretty convenient to the city. Also very close to the King Street area in Alexandria. We enjoyed getting to explore that area at night. Nothing was included. You literally got the room and that was it. Parking for your car is $20 a day.
Very nice conference room for seminar. Big desk. Comfortable bed. There were some very nice, helpful employees In room wifi was unreliable.
Location Hidden charges, inflexible uncooperative staff, inability to extend my stay at the same rate, generally not willing to work with customer,
Close to Regan International and not far from D.C.
Charming historic feel, convenient location but out of the big hotel loop. It felt more like staying in a neighborhood yet could easily get everywhere I wanted to by walking or metro. The staff was pleasant enough but I would have expected a small hotel to be a little more personal.
The hotel was quiet, the room furnishings were fresh and attractive, and I found the decor pleasing generally. The room overlooked the courtyard, which was also quiet. A good location too--we were able to walk to many of our destinations right from the hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed a cab one rainy morning, and asked at the front desk if they could call for one. Instead, the bellman grabbed his umbrella and went out to the street, down to the nearest busy corner, and whistled up one for me. Above and beyond! Our room was small--would have been perfect for a single guest, but a little cramped for two. Just one bedside table, for example, with no room for a second. We would have liked a king bed, but one evidently wasn't available--again, perhaps a size issue. Last, half the wardrobe cabinet was taken up by a room safe and refrigerator pre-stocked with candy, soda, and alcohol, so there wasn't quite enough room for two people to hang our things. And yes, no iron or ironing board. We didn't try the meal facilities. We'd stay again--the pluses outweigh the minuses.
Unique historic and charming hotel in great downtown location. Nice antique furnishings, nice dining are for breakfast. The room was small but clean and comfortable.
location and the size of the family room is perfect Bathroom of the room is too small ,rooms are too cold ,no place to get poor breakfast
Small room. Dirty carpet. TV in a cabinet. Full size bed. Horrible stay
The staff was friendly, location was convenient, rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished.
staff was courteous They accepted my reservation then gave away the room. Sent me to another hotel without rooms. A true nightmare in the middle of the night in DC
The hotel was absolutely stunning! The restaurant's service was great and the food was delicious.
The hotel has been recently renovated, so everything was brand new. Note that only half of the hotel is the "historic" part, now the other half is new. That didn't bother me at all. There was a very nice, upscale feel to the whole place. The staff were wonderful - very nice and accommodating. I stayed one night and when I came into my room after being out, all of my lights weren't working - a breaker had blown. When I called the front desk, it was taken care of within 10 minutes by a very polite maintenance staffer. The location was just okay - I walked from the closest Metro (Mt Vernon/Convention Center), and found myself walking along a street with boarded up houses. I wasn't taking any shortcuts, this was one of the main streets by the hotel. This wasn't too much of a problem for me, as I used Lyft to get everywhere and didn't do much walking at all. But it is something to keep in mind if you are making a reservation here. The only other thing was that my bed was very firm. That's a total personal preference, but did interfere with my sleep
The location is convenient.
Spacious and comfortable. Visibly older and run-down in places.
This hotel is an oasis within the city offering old fashioned values and quality service.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is an old building with character. There didn't seem to be any dress code for the staff so I couldn't tell for sure who was working there or hanging out. Staff couldn't easily tell me where local restaurants were. I had to find them on my own. The air blowing into the room from the HVAC vent was loud. I would have expected this from a cheap hotel but I paid over $350 per night.
Comfortable bed. Great location good water pressure in the shower The coffee maker didn't work well- the blower dryer was cracked very small bathroom Complimentary coffee in the lobby would have been a nice touch and a complimentary happy hour would be a nice touch
Friendly, helpful staff; great location, spacious room, well appointed and comfy. Overall good pic! Room too hot, useless thermostat, too much light at night. Bring a sleep mask
Great location and accommodation . Personable staff. If I had to find a weakness it would be too very small elevators
Comfy beds, decent size room in the junior suite. Nice quality towels and linens. Staff was pretty rude when we came back from seeing monuments. Bar tender was very rude when I went to take a call from my sitter and acted as if I was running out on the tab and refused my drink when I returned for no reason. The manager, I assume was very rude when we came in laughing (mind you, it was a bday party and gathering of veterans) In serious need of vending machines or at least bottles of water. The night staff was nice enough to bring up a cup.
The Churchill was a delightful respite for this harried traveller. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, the decor very pleasing, the room quite comfortable . All in all, my stay - though short- was very pleasant. I have no complaints.
I loved the room and the cleanliness...the comfort of the bed..overall great... the fact that there was no tub mat in the bathroom. Tub very slippery. as a business traveler my flight was late and when I got to the hotel there was no restaurant or room service.. on my floor there were not even vending machines to purchase soft drinks..
Nice room - king size bed slept great. I was very disappointed that there were no coffee pots in the room or complimentary cups offered in the lobby. However, I was informed that I could purchase a cup in their restaurant for $4.00. For the amount of money that I spent on the room, I really feel something as simple as a "complimentary" cup of coffee should have been included.
Spacious room located across the street from our conference The heat in the room was stuck on and the thermostat didn't do anything. Had to leave the windows open to be bearable in the room.
Good location. Friendly stuff. Ice machine wasn't working so wasn't iron. Valet parking only. Room was really small.
Very warm and welcoming front desk staff. Great location. Well appointed rooms and spacious Nothing comes to mind.
the front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was wonderful.
Hotel facilities were very nice, location is perfect for going to GW. The staff were very helpful, I had a problem with the reservation, as even though I booked the reservation using getroom.com, it was not found in the hotel's records. I spent an hour on the phone with getaroom and the hotel staff to get it resolved. They recommended that I use Hotels Tonight instead. One comment, the cleaning staff woke us up at 8AM to ask us what time we wanted the room cleaned. I thought that was a little weird... would generally prefer they just come when we're not there.
Staff very friendly and accommodating. good location, nice area for walking, close to Rock Creek Trail
was in town on business. Staff was polite and helpful even though I checked in around midnight. Room and decor were average at best. Not enough easily usable outlets next to nightstands. Central air system was noisy. a Pubic hair left on the sink and a couple in the shower was gross. Morning complimentary coffee was actually decent which was appreciated since I had to be up at 5. All in all, fine for me as a solo business traveler billing the client for accommodation. However if I was looking for a romantic getaway with my lady, or on vacation with the kids, i'd look for somewhere with a more unique and fun vibe and higher standards.
Everything met my expectations.
Rooms, staff and food
Clean, friendly staff Morning coffee ( that was free!) was horrible
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. At times wait staff was sparse
Great location, great food, great staff, very comfortable. No coffee in the rooms!
The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away. The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.
The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away. If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.
It was a nice hotel, in a relatively good location. Not a far walk to the Smithsonians, White House, etc. Parking is expensive and they tell you there's no charge for room service to be delivered, but there is.
Room was good for one person on a business trip. I had problems with the parking. It was expensive for the bad service that was given to me. Also I was double charged for my room. I have booked many hotel rooms and that has never happened to me
Staff was gracious friendly. Very conveniently located. Comfortable bed
The front desk clerk was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I had an issue with the parking garage when I initially checked in. The went above and beyond making sure the issue was corrected. What was problematic turned into great hospitality throughout our entire stay! We could not have asked for a better location to stay!
Very clean and efficient. Everything was good.
Clean Hotel. Friendly Staff. The room and bed was very comfortable. Paid Parking. No Continental Breakfast. No microwave in the room or hotel? Room 331 you had to enter a dark bedroom. The room was absent a central ceiling light in the center of the room above the bed. Turning on the wall light switch at the room entrance door only turns on the vanity light.
The hotel and rooms are first rate. The bartender was friendly. The staff does not go out of the way to make you feel welcomed at all. The ATM in the lobby was broken, and instead of offering a solution, I was told to go two blocks to the next ATM! Shuttles were late and often full so we would have to await another! This often means a 30 loss of vacation time...
Nicely convenient to Heathrow. Well equipped gym. Friendly staff
The shuttle service to King's Street and the airport was a nice added benefit.
The hotel is well equippped and well staffed. There are 2 shuttles an hour to the airport / metro or you can walk 20 minutes to a metro station. This made is a great base to visit Washington. Alexandria is a pleasant tow with lots of restaurants. Prices were much better and it was like living on the dge of the city so it was quite and relaxed but quite easy to reach all the sights of DC. We really liked it all. Hotel is well maintianed but you can tell it is an older building.
An ideal stopover to recover from transatlantic flight. It is possible to eat in but a walk along the side of the Potomac followed by restaurants or shopping on King Street provides a good experiencce even for a solo traveller. The hotel is slightly lacking in character and the walk from Braddock Metro Station is not the greatest (though the room was fine and a courtesy pickup from National Airport is available)
