10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent comfortable B&B close to the Ponte Romano with a friendly and obliging host who recommended a nearby restaurant and allowed us use of the washing machine.
Cons: Air conditioner is quiet but has a noisy pump which kicks in for a second or two independently of the A/C - ear plugs recommended, or do not run the A/C during the night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and very large. The location was perfect--close to Centro Pont St. Martin and Carema. Good food and wine nearby. The room was clean and tastefully decorated.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for exploring Val d'Aosta and Surroundings. Fabio is a wonderful host and makes you feel at home. Breakfast is superb and rich. Excellent value for money.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect couple of days at Al Castel, Fabio and his wife were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed plus provided information on walks etc in the local area. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean and we enjoyed just relaxing on the balcony having a glass of wine and enjoying the view Breakfast was tip top with plenty of choice and good pastries. We had a couple of great walks from Al Castel, one along the wine route to Bard enjoying the medieval quarters of Donnas & Bard and the old Roman road and a more taxing walk up to Castle Cly at Chambave both with fantastic views. We also had a very good night out in Pont Saint Martin, the locals were very friendly and we very much enjoyed their hospitality. Pont Saint Martin is a very good base for the Aosta valley with most activities within a comfortable driving distance or you can leave the car parked up and use the train: Aosta or Turin and everything in between. I would not hesitate to recommend Al Castel.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing, everything was great.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and plentiful
Cons: Made an appointment to be there at 18h. Nobody there. Finally at 18.30h I telephoned the given number and left a message. The host phoned back 5mins later and arrive arrived 5 mins after that. If you use this place phone 30mins before you want to get in! Very narrow road (but quaint) to access the B&B. We parked 100m beyond near the church.

Pros: Location excellent
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Very spacious. Excellent, very friendly host. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Bathroom cleanliness could be rated at 9/10. There were minor details in this area that could be improved, like dirt in hard to reach places. But nothing of much importance. Overall, very good cleanliness.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, just a 100m from the entrance to the Fort. The apartment was lovey and warm (on a chilly November evening) and extremely well equipped. The host was welcoming and provided a lovely choice of things for breakfast.
Cons: Not the fault of the owner, but nothing at all open in the town for a drink or to eat at this time of year (November). We found a good pizzeria in Hone, 10 minutes walk across the river but even that doesn't open on Tuesdays.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay here - the location is fantastic, the cleanness impeccable, the breakfast abundant. The owner helped us find the way to the property and was very helpful and kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely apartment right in the heart of Bard with the Castle only a short walk away. It has great facilities and a place to park the car if you have one. Check in is not until 6pm but that didnt matter to us because we spent time at the castle! Our breakfast was amazing too!

7.1 Good
Pros: Great breakfast, nice view
Cons: We were travelling with two small children and were given the least accessible room - 3 flights of stairs without elevator. Reception was unable to provide us with an extra set of linen. Spa reserved for guest over 14 years of age.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice style of rooms.
Cons: We got a room at the backside first even though we booked with balcony. Had to wait half an hour more for the correct room to be available. Wellness: cold water shower doesn't work, so cooling down is problematic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location- in a pitoresque small town just beneath Bard fortress. It s a boutique hotel, not many rooms. Price- slighltly above the average for the area, but cheaper than Switzerland. Rooms- excellent, with a roof window overlooking the sky, with wooden very nice furniture, very cosy and unique. Breakfast-quite good with local food but you have to ask for caffe, eggs. They tell you that they’ve got everything but they jusy don t show it because of few guests. Restaurant- actually the one inside is the best in the region but quite expensive. The one called bistro in front of the hotel is very very poor, tastless pasta. Staff- friendly, but a little arrogant- you can really see the french and swiss influence here.
Cons: Wireless- very poor, unusable. Spa&jacuzzi- for 120 euros/ night you would expect it to be free of charge, but no- 15€/person for 2 hours. Parking-is free but quite far from the hotel if you have luggage to carry.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice room with the hot tub / jaccuzi space
Cons: However this room is very noisy and close to the kitchen, not worth the price at all

5.4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: This is simply an example of how poorly run this hotel was. I had a mountain of toilet paper next to my door. My room was gross the staff seemed to be playing hotel. It seems as if someone inherited a hotel and no one knows what they are doing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My room had a balcony and view of the old Roman bridge which gives its name to the hotel. Superb! The room was very comfortable and the staff were kind and friendly. It's right at the centre of this little town and everything is in a short walking distance. It also has a good and very reasonably priced restaurant, and a bar. Good for travellers as just off the motorway system and easy to find. It's a perfect stop-off before driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel the next day en route from Italy to the UK.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike. The following is simply an observation - Public parking is available right outside the hotel in a little square, but payment is required in the week up until a certain point in the evening. I was directed towards a free space at the side of the hotel, but when travelling I prefer more private parking during one-night stops as I was carrying a lot of luggage in my car, some of it very personal and sentimental items. Having said that, Pont-Saint-Martin is a very relaxed and beautiful little town, and in different circumstances I would have been 100 per cent happy to use the little public car park right outside the hotel, which is very very safe and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super friendly. They have a decent breakfast, there is a great pizzeria on the first floor and they sell coffee and ice cream on the ground floor. The rooms are large and have a balcony overlooking the square. This place is excellent value for money.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived very late at night. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a central location in a very quaint Aosta Valley town. You really feel you are living like the locals. Beds are super comfortable and the family room was spacious.
5.8 Okay
Pros: View, location, great size of bed and amenities but awful experience overall.
Cons: Very rude person at reception, I was extremely shocked. Almost didn’t stay here but the choices were minimal. To start with she offered me her ‘last room’ at 68€ but when I left and in a cafe went on bookings website to find another hotel, I found a room there at 48€. When I went back, the girl was very reluctant, once again very rude, gave me the keys to a room on 4th floor telling me there is no heating, wouldn’t give my passport back...the list is endless. I went to the room, to be fair it was huge but cold and no amenities whatsoever, and very dated. An hour later she comes up, tells me to change room to one that has heating. I did, and it was much better, I got plenty of amenities and also a fantastic view. Never once was I explained checkout/breakfast/anything. Also, WiFi was non existant.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We've stayed here six or seven times travelling to and fro between France and Italy. Always pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are large and comfortable, many overlooking all the activity in the town square, or looking toward the historic bridge.
Cons: The lift was out of action this year, which made it harder to take luggage to the third floor.

Cons: The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We were disappointed to find that it was run down and not been renovated. Very basic.
6.3 Good
Pros: Carla, or who I assume was Carla, was very accommodating. I was walking with a back pack on the Via Francigena and had injured my neck so that I could no longer carry it. She kindly agreed to drive or packs to our B&B in Ivrea.
Cons: It is too far from the center of Pont-Saint-Martin. It isn't really in Pont-Saint-Martin but Carema, the next town. Everything is outdated and run down and the shower is too small for all but the smallest people.
