Almost everything about the stay was first-rate. Even though our room faced I-95, it was completely quiet. Friendly, cheerful staff. Breakfast was ordinary - scrambled eggs appeared to have been made from a mix (powder).
I liked the variation of morning breakfast. There was a new main course every morning. We had free coffee all day and free cookies. The rooms were clean every day with origami folded towels. Nothing.
Location Rooms Fast check inn with correct room assigned Breakfast Laundry room ( free but bad machine settings makes it impossible to use it!) Check out process
everything was fine. room smelled musty.
The only part i liked was when we found a new hotel and checked out! The hotel was dirty all over, lobby, checkin, hallway, elevator ect. One of the bath towels that appeared not to be used had blood all over it and scabs on it. One of the pillow xases had blood on it. The hot tub was cold. Il never satay at another one! Ive stayed at motel 6's that were alot cleaner and treated respectively not like i was a bother!
The room smelled like the rug was wet or moldy. When I first got there my room wasn't ready meanwhile I had called in advance to see if it was. The night before my checkout my key card did not work! Horrible experience
I liked the bed and shower. The staff did bring me extra pillows. Toilet back up but staff was quick to respond but had to show attendant how to use the plunger. I had to change rooms because the A/C unit did not work. The continental breakfast was OK at best. The TV remote did not work properly. Needs a Safe placed in each room. Lamps were not plugged in. TV channel program was not in room.
It was quiet dirty carpets, only one elevator and it was slow. Dogs barking, poor food quality and poor selection...staff hot and cold.
Proximity to I-95 Unclean rooms, No pet-free rooms
The hotel was nice, clean and the staff were all very helpful. The restaurants offered good food (especially Hyde Park) and the pool area was fun to hang out in. The beach access was excellent and we enjoyed the ease of leaving at night to go on walks down the beach front. We didn't stay in Daytona much as we travelled to St. Augustine and Coca Beach but the hotel is a good half way point for both places. The food and beverages are really expensive and if you just add them to your room expense instead of paying cash the cost will add up quickly! The rooms are clean but very basic and had a little wear and tear. No refrigerator in our room nor a trash can in the bathroom which is just strange not to have. The windows and walls are very thin so you hear all the noise from the Amusement park which is right next to the hotel if you stay on the south side of the hotel. Valet is always nice but for $22/night again can add up quickly but they were very fast in getting my car!
The view and the facilities were worth it. Paying for parking, which was across the street... Very inconvenient.
Beach and buffet Construction
Loved the location to the beach and the staff was awesome The window in our room was not sealed all the way, we had a view of literally only the roof, and the pool seemed small for a hotwl of that size. It was always packed.
Staff was very friendly Hôtel need some repairs
The hotel is amazing and at a perfect view right on the Beach. It was an overall terrible experience, I had 2 nights and it was pricy but I was willing to pay some extra money to enjoy my vacation, the first night the room next to me had a party with a music that was so loud and when I complained, they changed my room and I had to pack my stuff and walk to the other tower for another room at 1:30 am, there was no security and rooms were packed with at least 5 or 6 teenagers and they were so noisy and again no security or someone who can ask them to lower the noise at least at night time, 2nd night had a false fire alarm and had to evacuate the whole hotel and that took about 3 hours to resolve, got back to my room at 1 am, that might be a bad luck so that won't be the case for everyone but once again the hotel had no kind of security or manager that take care of the guests and provide a quiet, relaxing time for their guests vacation.
I liked that everything was close to hotel. There was garbage in stairwells and so many homeless people hanging around.
ocean view was nice the room was small no refrigerator, no microwave, room was dusty and we had to enter from north tower when we stayed at the south tower. we had to have our vehicle parked across the street instead of at the hotel I understand there was storm damage from the hurricane but they could of told us the pool and spa were closed before we booked if we had known this in advance we would of stayed elsewhere. VERY DISPLEASED
the rooms were spacious and nice. The check in lady was very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay great. I would definitely recommend staying here nothing
Staff was friendly and helpful to an extent, the hidden fees were your surprise when checking out. All the add on fees are terrible!
The location on the Daytona oceanfront can't be beat. We have stayed here every spring break for the past 5 years. I must say, it has gone downhill. Everything is just looking shabby. Our room smelled moldy. The staff were incredibly rude on several occasions. we paid a premium price for Motel 6 service. We'll be looking for different accommodations next year.
Huge issues with elevators. Only 3 for the hotel and 1 was broken much of our stay. Unable to use elevators at all during check out due to back up. Had to load gear for 3 babies by using 3 floors worth of stairs. Beautiful hotel but elevator problems are a deal-breaker.
Nothing Where do I start with this place- The first room I was checked into was smelt so bad - The smell was like a pest control company just left before I got there and the carpet was still wet from being clean and it smelt of mold and must and bug spray . The bedding was stained and ripped . To make matters worse there was a drunk kid in the hallway sitting at the end near the room blasting his music . We asked for a different room and where given a different room the smell in the second room was a little better and also another drunk kid in the hallway on her phone sitting in the hallway . My partner and I decided at this point to find something to eat in the area and everything was closed . We decided to walk back to the hotel and see maybe if the bar or something was open in the hotel . We walked out side the hotel near the pool and that was a mess with beer cans and drunk people everywhere . At this point I called Kayak to complain about this and was able to get a refund when it finally hit us .. My partner had stayed at this very hotel on his spring break 31 years ago and the hotel had not changed in 31 years . This place need to do some major work and the staff is rude and need to be retrained . The staff lies to the customers about everything and the holding of funds on ur credit card . We where able to get all the money from Kayak but the funds from the hotel are still not refunded to the card and have called several times about this and get the run around this place is HORRIBLE and need to be put on HOTEL NIGHTMARES . we decided to head out daytona and head north and found a great hotel in Palm Coast .
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was completely upgraded and clean. The amenities were very nice. Heated pool, it was December, salon, restaurant and outside tiki area. The outside of the hotel is not adequately being maintained. We had a street view and our window was so dirty we could barely see out of it and there was bird feces all over the ledge that had not been cleaned in some time. But still an excellent place to stay.
Was a little displeased with not having a comforter on the bed.
The staff was amazing! Went put of their way to say hello everytime we saw someone, very attentive. We stayed an extra unplanned night because we were so impressed with their staff How expensive their drinks were. We spent more on drinks then we did on lunches and dinners
The hotel is very nice and right on the beach. Swimming pool is heated but outside. I don't know about the rest of the hotel what room 104 was fantastic. it has a patio and access to the beach from your room.
This was a great resort next to the boardwalk. You are in waking distance to the pier and food places. Once you park your car, no need to use it again until you leave! We will be back! It was just my fiancé and I, so the bar with all of the "buckets" were great! Clean, friendly staff!
The View was breathtaking I was quoted a price of $93 I was charged 200 I was charged a resort fee of $20 I did not know about not only that they listed the spa and sauna hot tub as Hotel amenities in fact they were not they were an additional charge if you use the spa how can you list them as Hotel amenities we wouldn't never go back
Bathrooms extremely small
The resort is directly on the water and is in the heart of Daytona Beach. We were able to walk to most of the local attractions and restaurants. Parts of the hotel were well decorated and maintained, especially the conference center wing and the lobby. Some of the food options at the bar side grill were very good and reasonably priced. My wife and I stayed at this resort for our wedding anniversary. We were very disappointed. Despite being let to believe by hotel staff that there would be some special anniversary accommodations, absolutely none were received. The hotel was very loud with spring breakers; we were woken up multiple times each night by the partying. Our entire floor reeked of marijuana and there were empty beer cans on the hall floors. The elevators did not seem to be functioning properly while we were there, for the wait times were unbelievably long. The breakfast buffet is nothing more than a cheap continental breakfast. We left the hotel every day for breakfast and dinner.
To much noise
Good location in terms of the beach In dire need of renovation. Awful rooms and staff are slow and inefficent at check-in
location is perfect oceanfront view is great staff are friendly fridge and AC unit is a bit noisy
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel was beautiful and clean and well kept. Breakfast buffet was delicious. The hot tub was filled up with a bunch of dudes pretty much our whole stay. Not enough towels in the pool area.
Staff was the best!
Rooms were clean. TV good size and excellent cable. Parking a little distracting.
the rooms were comfortable and the beach was beautiful price
It was a clean and updated hotel The staff were all very friendly The breakfast was the best! Really comfortable rooms
The staff is very friendly, the view is beautiful, the rooms are modern, I enjoyed my stayed. Everything was just perfect
Cleanliness, compact but efficient Nothing
A very nice hotel. Elevators are very slow.
Everything. I had no issues. Room was comfortable and all staff were very friendly!!
The room was excellent and the ocean front view was awesome. Food quality can be better. The restaurant and food choices are not that great.
COMING HOME DIDNT GET THE ROOM WE BOOKED. WHEN ASKED IF I COULD GET THE ROOM I BOOKED WAS JERKED AROUND. HAD TO SLEEP ON A PULL OUT THAT WAS HORRID FOR 6 DAYS.
Close to the beach Facility was a bit run down and could use some repair/updating. Window was broken in room so it could not be locked. Bits of garbage and someone's pill left in the carpet.
Beach front Everything is falling apart. Beach bar staff unfriendly, no toothbrush provided by hotel, can't open windows that are dirty anyways...
Ridiculous hidden fees, but that's not what ruined my stay. My wife and I checked in late at night and did not fall asleep until 2am. No problem though, right? I mean, checkout is at 11am so we can get our 8 hours and still checkout on time. Wrong. At 7:59am, we get a tapping on the door. We ignored it the first 3 times, but on the fourth I jumped out of bed and answered the door. A polite maid asked me if I was ready to checkout. I said "No, I'm sleeping. I thought 11am was checkout?" She said, "It is. Would you like to checkout now?" It almost seemed like a gag, but I wasn't laughing and neither was she. I shooed her away and immediately called the front desk. After being given the runaround about the manager being in a "business meeting" (really, at 8am?, the resort morning supervisor is in a meeting with who at 8am?) I was finally connected to a guy who sounded like he was talking to me at the gas pump. "What up man, what can I do for you?" I told him the story and he said "Yeah, it's just a courtesy checkout knock. No problem." No, Shores, it was a huge problem. I will never return.
Hotel was very clean and loved the pool area and sitting out by the pool making sites each evening..... Restaurant was a bit too expensive and I didn't like that they charged an extra $10 Per day for parking when you were already a guest at the hotel....
Had a geat stay! Staff was great moved to hptel from another hotel down street that was discusting The staff bent over backwards to get us right in our rooms so we could get ready for a 1:00 function we had to go to. Everything ws good rooms food bar pool and hot tub very inviting. Paying for self parking it was accross and elevator was out of order..
After reading reviews, I was a little disappointed in how dated the actual rooms were. Loved the property, but I was surprised that the paint in the bathrooms, the vanity and side dressing area were in the condition they were in. The room itself was comfortable and the two complimentary bottles of water were nice. Outside of the hotel room, we loved the property. The pool and cabana area were wonderful. The staff was professional and polite. We will return just for those reasons!
Great location and really good pricing. Great room. Very pleased all around.
The food was great, superb breakfast, gorgeous oceanfront area, nice clean pool, pretty room, gorgeous four post canopy king bed, very comfortable! I really enjoyed our stay! The dinner was a little pricey but still very good and great service!
Great location, service, whole nine yards. Older, like 99% of the hotels in Daytona, but very well maintained. Bed was awesome, room was nicely appointed. Service was great, definitely four star. Met some locals who had stopped in for the evening and they said this is the best one and where they stay if they move away and then come back to visit. Its a little far from the action if your a spring breaker and might be a little to uppity for that type of clientele. We got a good deal watching the prices so we are extremely satisfied. Restaurant looked nice but out of our budget. Locals said it was the valentine/birthday restaurant of choice. Did get their lunch poolside though and that was priced decent and was good. The grounds where well maintained and setup very nicely. Liked how they had a bridge over a busy road for the self parking lot. Outdoor gas fire pits where a nice touch for a quite evening by the Ocean. All in All was extremely pleased with our stay and would definitely stay again. Others mentioned parking costs and resort fee but we knew of those costs upfront and still the overall cost was competitive with other hotels on the beach. Towels seem to run out fast and there was a long delay for fresh ones. We had a partial ocean view with no balcony. This wasn't a problem until we go to open a window and they are screwed shut. Understand it could be a safety concern but wife was really disappointing we couldn't hear the ocean at night.
The staff was nothing less then amazing, from the front desk to the cleaning employees.
The rooms were very clean and the staff was very nice. The only gripe I had was that it wasn't very college kid friendly and nowhere near where all the spring breakers were.
A lot of the Daytona Beach Shores hotels had awful reviews. This hotel had good reviews and lived up to the reviews. Clean!
Location. Right on beach very close to access road to the mainland. Slight musty smell in. room when we first. Got there.
THE VIEW OF THE OCEAN. Seem to take a long period of time for rooms available on reservations that was made.
Excellent staff, location AND price!! ZERO complaints
The location was good & view from room was everything you'd expect staying on the beach. Hotel needs serious updating/re-freshening. Probably ruined by the "spring break days"...10+ years ago. In my opinion... kinda dumpy. BUT...the view & location made up for it. Stayed at the Hyatt down the street B4 which had free breakfast & was updated, clean & nice but of course, a little more$$...would definitely check other options next time..but during spring break--with my 10 year old... it served it's purpose for the price. Micro & fridge. Publix about 2 miles away..it was good.
Nice view of water
The room is great, everything u need is there. Personal items, kitchen stuff, wow i made breakfast and set it up inside the room, and we have a view of the ocean. Comfortable bed and quiet place. Great for vacation. I would like to come back soont. The pool is warm, very nice. Try the hottub, very therapeutic. Wifi is AWESOME connection unlike most connections. Good for business too we need billiards and some deck games i guess
I liked that the staff changed our room, since the first "non-smoking" room highly stunk like cigarettes. i didn't like that one of the workers tried to disregard our concerned by stating it was cooking smell - which is a huge difference, but the gentleman at the front desk graciously changed our room. Couldn't enjoy the balcony for too long as others were smoking on their balconies... But at least enjoyed the view from the balcony glass windows.
Nice and safe N/a
The staff was very friendly and catered to my needs. The room was clean ad had a nice view of the ocean . Check in and check out was fast and easy. The only complaint I have is the the A/C unit had a loud high pitch noise comming from it.
Rooms were clean, available when we checked in, close to everything. Tiki Bartender Benson was awsom! Seperate parking for trailers and bikes. If it weren;t for the price I would stay in March for Bike Week. Stayed at this hotel a month eariler and paid $60 less. I hate the price gouging during events.
Overall nice stay. Did see a roach one morning in the bathroom. Otherwise good service. Nice staff. Clean heated pool. Nice waterfront and easy access to beach. Good happy hour. Neal at their restaurant, Traders, was awesome! Make sure you see Neal. Good food, had loaded fries and the ribeye and both were good. Just the roach sighting in our bathroom one morning
Has a decent restaurant, pool, beach chairs by the beach. Close to beach for good price
On the beach, size of the room, close to everything Bathroom was small, elevator problems
From the moment we checked in we were treated like royalty. So genuinely friendly. The included full breakfast is awesome as we're the ribs in the attached restaurant. Book Now!!! Total positive. I didn't like leaving.
We were originally put in a pool side room because the parking lot on the other side was being redone and the staff had concerns over noise. We were appreciative and understanding about the parking situation and immediately crashed for the night since we got in close to 2AM. The next day we enjoyed the pool with family who were also staying there. The following day, we woke up to the pool being drained. There were signs that indicated we could use other hotel's pools, but that barely seemed tempting since I prefer to be able to walk to the pool in my suit and then go right back to my room when done. I immediately checked to see if we had been given prior notice of the closure when I booked the room, since that might have changed our hotel decision. I only found one note that explained that the pool would be closed for maintenance but that it would be complete ONE MONTH before our arrival. I asked the front desk why there was a change, how long the pool would be closed, why we were not informed that the maintenance changed and actually impacted our stay. Long story short, all I got in return was again pointing out that I could use a different hotel's pool. I left feeling like I was paying for an amenity that I could not use and there was no apology for the inconvenience or lack of communication. I don't understand why we were put on one side of the hotel to avoid one partial night of construction (really it ended up just being painting the next morning) and were put on a side of the hotel to witness (and hear... the pump draining the pool woke us up) for the next 3 days of our stay.
Rooms were clean. Employees were very nice and helpful. Your on the ocean ,there's a huge pool ( salt water ). There is a restaurant , indoor bar and tiki bar at the pool. There is also a 7-11 across the street.
Very friendly and helpful staff. One of the most bike friendly places I have stayed. Close enough to Main Street but far enough away to enjoy some quiet. I cannot think of anything to complain about Just a really good place to stay
Beach and pools, Oceanwalk Restaurants, and the Turtle Bar We were never able to get a chair by the pool, we were forced to go to the beach. There should be more chairs by the pools. Also, there were many people by the pool without bracelets. The Security at this resort should be enforcing this, they just ignored it.
Clean place with great pool area for kids...but no room service, cleaning service or valet. So be prepared to wash your own towels.
The room was great, washing machine was a god send and easy to use, views from the room were fantastic, no maid coming into the room each morning was good, balcony was ace, no long ques for the lift, awsome place to stay for a family. it was very busy
Good value and location. Nice pool. No maid service during stay, but maid came thirty minutes prior to checkout to get room ready for next guests! Next time will check the fine print because 10am check out time during Biketoberfest may be a deal breaker.
Hotel staff was horrible Waiting at the front desk for almost an hour and a half At 10:30 pm
Pools & beach Room a little dated
Good pool, good tv channel selection, good dinning area long waits for the elevators
The jacuzzis and the lazy river are great! Great access to and views of the boardwalk AC unit broke on last day there, no one came to fix it, and apparently never even put it in the system. Children were throwing bread and liquids into the jacuzzi tub beneath their balcony. In the bedroom facing the hallway, the curtains didn't close all the way and the blinds left huge gaps where you could see in from the outside, plus light just just streamed in all the time, it was never really dark.
Beautiful view from balcony, and pool area nice. Make sure when you book it specifies ocean front! Wifi is terrible!
The only thing I liked was the different pool activities for children and location We were placed in a Handicapped room with Me my fiance and 4 young children and the bathroom had no door and it was completely inconvenient and inappropiate. No one seemed to care of my concern.
The location is great, the view from my balcony. My room was not ready on time ,my waiting time was 40min Not towels my experience was not good Not good vacation
The view and the staff at the front desk How unclean the rooms were
That we had to ask the front desk for ice and there wasn't an ice machine on any floors
Staff was extremely nice. Room was spetacular Nothing
They really cared. Homemade cookies, very professional staff. Breakfast and adult happy hour included. Burned out hotel next door mars what would otherwise be a great view.
Location. The room smelled. The AC when turned on has urine smell. Front desk staff know nothing about customer service. Room wasn't ready when I arrived. I had to wait over an hour to get my room.
-complimentary breakfast -location -price -friendliness of staff -hotel gym was kind of small/dated, but provided sufficient space for a short trip -I saw a few bugs around the premises (one live crawling around the breakfast area at night, and one dead in my room)
Great location. Very clean. Very friendly staff Nothing. Place was great.
Like kindness of staff and breakfast was pretty good They were in renovations and it was really, really dusty even inside the rooms, hallways carpet and even furniture outside in lobby. My family and I ended with a pretty bad sinus allergy
The facilities were very good, clean and comfortable.the complemetary breakfasts were very good, and the ale house next door was very local and handy, a good way to finish the day off, good food and drink.
Nice rooms, big bathrooms, good breakfast.
Everyone was helpful and very professional....Thanks zero
Location for for Daytona race was great, restaurant close, clean
I could not get wi-fi, in my room and no one of the staff knew how or why it was not working.
Because of its location to I-95 it was a little tricky getting to the hotel but not to the point of being inconvenient. Our room was clean and large with two double beds and quiet. Breakfast was different each morning with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and ask us a couple of time if they were meeting our needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends and will stay there again the next time in the area.
There were roaches in my room..
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds were excellant. There was a slight proble with getting a room cleaned and ready to check into put it was sloved.
Service and being on the beach was great!! Beautiful view as well. Our room was located right next to the pool.. was not fun at 830 in the morning. .
Staff was courteous and the beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not good at all. But we recognize for the value and money saved on room rate we should not have expected omelet station or something like that.
On the beach Everything
I liked everything. It was a little outdated, but wasn't bad. Overall I would stay again nothing
This hotel was right on the beach and only a few minutes from the peer in one direction and the lighthouse in the other. The rooms all have an ocean view. The hotel also had beach lounge chairs which we took to the beach instead of renting (nobody said we couldn't) very convenient. I made sure I cleaned them and returned them too. Breakfast was good considering the price. I'd stay again.the room The room doors all seem to stick when opening and closing so the sound of slamming doors was annoying after the neighbors kids went in and out a million times. Some off the rooms have kitchens and some people's food isn't always to your liking. The parking lot gets cramped. For the price you're not going to get the Ritz Carlton butt you get a clean room with an excellent location and a helpful staff.
The location and staff were excellent, the breakfast was great, the rooms were really big and nice no complaints The second day our lock on the door quit working and they did not have the part to fix it. They moved us from bottom floor to top floor and went from queen beds to double beds.
Quite hotel, good location We needed extra blankets and pillows and was told one night they did not have any and the second night was told they don't give them out.
Third stay at this great little place. Ocean front and pet friendly, nice staff, comfortable room. The weather was horrible, not the hotels fault!
An excellent view with great customer service. The elevator was outdated and did not function properly.
Well appointed, clean and beautiful room and hotel. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly. Appears to be owner opperated.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The beds are the best. Privacy is great.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was EXTRAORDINARY. Nothing.
Very nice room and location
Excellent staff, the room was amazing, breakfast made fresh by a professional chef, beautiful dock where we saw Dolphins playing.
The staff and the rooms were amazing!!!
the access to the beach, included breakfast not enough parking
View from the balcony. The assistant in the dining room for breakfast was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her. She was well worthy of the tip, so thank you to her. The door to the room had a faulty lock so the door was open on arrival, it had to be slammed shut each time we went in or out. There were stains on the carpet, the taps on the sink and back did not look clean. The door to the balcony was unclean and the original lock was broken so was replaced by a lock screwed on the inside of the door. There was no remote control for the tv. The electrical socket on the wall behind the tv was hanging off leaving an open space in the wall.
We had a new room which was very nice hopefully a sign of what the hotel will like when works are completed, heating was good considering the current temperatures experienced in Florida, on the beach would be very nice in summer Currently undergoing major works of which we weren't aware of but it did not really affect our stay' meant that fitness center wasn't available which we had wanted, appearance is in a transformation but fine, breakfast was very basic and disappointing, night staff were some sometimes not very helpful
We really enjoyed the lounge, being able to drink and have alot of fun and not have to drive anywhere. We was able to walk right back up to the room. The only thing that could have been better was if the sliding door to the balcony was working properly.
The view Sloppy repair work. Faucets in bathroom need to be replaced.
It was located directly at the beach. It had a big swimmingpool with a nice terrace and bar. Some things were broken (Nummer on the rooms, the floor etc.). The hotel and the room didn't give you a feeling of clean and nice. I didn't feel comfortabel at all. Even we had a good offer, I paid less for better rooms.
Location was excellent. Hotel was cleaner and better maintained than most beach hotels in Daytona (other than the high end properties). Pricy during Race Week but that is to be expected. Staff were good. Great beach in front of hotel. I will stay here again the next time I am in Daytona for Race Week.
The vfiew was excellent. We had a room over looking the ocean with a beautiful view. We did enjoy the waffles for breakfast. The room needed to be renovated. For example, the lock on the door going out to the patio had been reset several times...there were several holes made. The headboard looked like something was spilled on it and there was a dirty tissue behind the bed that we did not use.
it was a very excellent hotel, wonderful view, and nice relaxation place, room very comftable food little bit high , and hotel charges for things u dont expect. so alway ask question
My room was amazing!!!! This hotel is under renovation so not all rooms are complete yet. The room I stayed in was just redone and It was top of the line!!!! Parking can be a little tight. Hotel is not yet completely rennovated.
Nice rooms. Stained linen. Limited parking, had to cross a busy street to park.
The room furnishings were unique and beautiful. The room was exceptionally clean. The mattress was great. The location and view from the third floor were great. The television was first class. There are no elevators, so the upstairs rooms are definitely not for the average seniors. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. No smoking anywhere on the property.
Newly renovated and updated Only one sink for bathroom/ kitchen. A/C unit serviced only bed next to it and not bed the other side of wall separating the two beds.. No elevator to third floor. International receptionist caused language barriers to understanding concerns and wishes. Phone in room out of order. Shower did not drain properly.
Nice beachfront locatiin, but not the newest hotel in ormond beach. Don't fall for the "breakfast included" line, this hotel serves the bare minimum of what you can call breakfast. Store muffins, yogurt, apples and orange juice/coffee. Most likely you will end up buying breakfast elaewhere.
I liked the cleanliness of the place, the ease of walking to the beach, and I liked the modernization of the rooms. They didn't leave towels, the wifi didn't work half of the time, and they claim to have breakfast. What breakfast?
Pool/Spa area was incredible. Super friendly staff, quick and easy check in. Hotel & Room were extremely clean. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom in room looked brand new and was amazing. That we had to leave.
This was our first time staying here and we were impressed. Super clean and very updated. It was a lot more than we were expecting.
Nick at the front desk was wonderful. He was very professional, friendly, informative and helpful. The Lotus is very lucky to have such a nice young man working for them.
Location on the beach was excellent. The fire pit was a nice feature. Staff consistently appeared distressed to have to be of assistance when asked for simple requests e.g. the room key stopped working. The room was small & the mattress was uncomfortable with no box spring.
Great location. Large room with kitchen. Separate sleeping room.
Good location: on the beach and within walking distance of restaurant, bar and shops. The facilities are also well taken care of and the staff is very helpful.
The beach views and location The price
Every single staff member I talked to was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed for 5 days with our 7 month old daughter and they had a packnplay ready and cleaned everyday for her! The hotel is right on the beach and a perfect spot for a family vacation as shopping and restaurants are close by! We loved our stay in New Smyrna at the Best Western.
Good location. Nice to have kitchenette. The only major turnoff for this spot is you can drive on the beach. Seems ridiculous to allow cars and trucks on the beach with kids running around.
Room was clean and great views. We were given a handicap room which was not part of the original reservation.
The unique design of the double bed rooms was nice. We liked the kitchenette/seating area so we could invite our travel partners to play cards or watch TV together. The pool area overlooking the ocean was great! No free breakfast. That would move it up in the ratings and keep your census at 100%.
My thoughts are it's better now than when it was Holiday Inn.
I liked the indoor heated pool and so did the kids. Who doesn't like swimming in December? The kids also liked being right on the beach. The baseball team had their own polar plunge just for fun. The homemade donuts were tasty too. It was nice not to have to think what was for breakfast. I loved the kitchenette too. I hate having to eat out while on vacation. The kids could come in and quickly eat and were back having fun. We will have to come back!
It wasn't the most modern place to stay. But I had a ball being there. They have an activities calander. With fun things to do all day. I enjoyed that. They also have loyal guest that come back every year. I didn't ikebana he decor. Everything screamed 1950s. And the walls aren't insulated well so u here everything outside ur room. It's a family friendly hotel so it's lots of kids
Clean, large room for the money, decently furnished, nice view Difficult parking, no food on location, older construction... Feels a little like 1960 around there
Very Friendly Staff. Good Service. Clean & Fresh Rooms. The hotel has done a good job of keeping their place updated & clean. The area. Daytona Beach is pretty run down, but that isn't the fault of the hotel.
The price was good. The rooms have been remodeled. Rooms were clean. The little resturant insure was delicious! Perry's is very old looking on the outside. Pictures on the web do not reflect what the place actually looks like. Halls were dingy. Parking was terrible.
Everything was great. Stuff was helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Would like to have a little more variety for breakfast. Even though donuts were good, breakfast with only donuts was not a good option. Especially if you stay for more than a couple of days.
everything about perrys is 1st class
I liked the fact that all of the staff was friendly, clean rooms and great location close to everything needed. Pipe burst causing shower not to work but staff provided option of using unused rooms to shower but problem went away at night
We were in a handicap room with no option to swutch. Shower was very uncomfortable
Overall Perry's was fine. The staff seemed nice and overall I would consider staying there again - but I'll shop around first. Cleanliness could definitely be improved and we were disappointed that the two outdoor pools were not heated. They do have a heated indoor pool but it was mobbed most of the time.
Terrible place to stay. Someone broke into the room when we were sleeping. Never come here
Nothing First off, I understand the LaPlaya Resort has a new owner... This is my review of the place since they took over... Have been staying at the LaPlaya Resort for 15 years at least two or three times EVERY year. Booked the room two months in advance thru a third party site because the hotel's website said they were booked completely.. Paid almost double what I normally paid. Booked three (3) nights for the Memorial Day Weekend, expecting another great time at the LaPlaya. So many disappointments.. Had to pay $10/day extra for Wi-Fi. Deposit $25/day for incidentals, AC unit hanging from wall (they re-attached) but the AC remained at a constant 80+ degrees in the room. Apparently they locked the temp adjustment and the blower was locked to Low. The room door looked like it had been broken into numerous times and the lock was not secure.. pushed open without key card. Roaches throughout the room.. NEVER saw ANY Roaches ever BEFORE this stay. The Veranda Restaurant is GONE!!! They are using the space to let the vultures have their so called free continental breakfast.. what a joke!!! Can't believe the Tiki Bar was actually open.. what a surprise!!! There was no DJ for the Holiday Weekend except for about 2-3 hours on Saturday... what a waste.. The whole point of going to the LaPlaya for a "Holiday Weekend" "WAS" because all entertainment was already onsite, hence the high price of staying there. You didn't have to get in your car and drive for entertainment.. it "USED TO BE" nice to be able to enjoy your cocktails, beautiful weather, entertainment, and food (delivered if you desire) all in the safety off the resort. I heard from a fellow patron that the owners are planning to gut the place August 2017.. It will mean nothing if the price and amenities are like this visit. Also found out other patrons had only booked their rooms just days before arrival and paid almost half of what I paid... remember I booked two months in advance.. talk about being steamed about that... that just made me nauseous to say the least. Needless to say I will never return to this place regardless of what name they give it!!! Sadly disappointed
It was nice to be on the beach and the staff was friendly. Walls are paper thin and neighbor came in with his entourage at around 1:30 am making quite the ruckus. Tossed and turned for a while after that, but then was woken up at 4:00 by the smell of pot. Not a relaxing night at all. I figured I'd at least get a good breakfast, but there was definitely something left to be desired. Grabbed a bowl of fruit and it tasted old and rubbery. Thank goodness for Lucky Charms and pre-packaged yogurt. They could probably stand to have some utensils out where you could actually spread cream cheese on a bagel too.
Ocean front room. Free upgrade. They rented bottom floor of garage to car show made parking horrific.
Comfy beds We payed for the beach side room and didn't get it. There was roaches all over the place. If the fourth floor was like that I would hate to see the lower floors. Wasn't worth the stay.
Staff was nice It was roach infested Not clean No parking it was so bad....couldn't leave cause we were scared of losing parking again Microwave broken Sliding door to balcony broken Tv broken remote.
Proximity to the beach Nasty room, door had to be slammed just to shut, paint was pealing, there was rust on all metal pieces, the TV was from the 90s, elevators were SLOW and sketchy. There was continental breakfast but it only included breads, nothing exciting, except blocked for a private party in the same room, just teasing us, was a full hot breakfast that we could smell, but not eat.
The carpet is Old & The Kichen is not clean Specially The Stove
Check out process took 1 hour
Offered a new room after I found, and brought to the front desk 5 roaches on my bed. The 5 roaches that scurried across my bed when I was trying to sleep.
Found three roaches overall in our hotel. The blankets were very scratchy and uncomfortable my children did not like them and would not sleep with them. I had to call the front desk 3 times to get towels for our room. I asked for an hour late checkout and the lady at the front desk refused, when I went to check out she offered a late checkout to the man in front of me. When you walk around the hotel and see staff they roll there eyes at you and when they are standing in your way talking they don't move! Lazy staff and not enough towels and bedding to go around apparently.
Location was amazing. Room did not get cleaned during whole stay. Had to get towels myself.
Courteous, helpful, professional staff.
The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer all of our questions. Breakfast was also one of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had. Loved how close we were to the beach and that we could include the beach chair rentals to our room. Definitely a place for the family. I stayed here on vacation with my boyfriend and we were surrounded by children. I was also uncomfortable at one point when one of the employees asked me if I was on my way downstairs to meet up with my husband and kids.
Quieter, less crowded beach. Good for families with small children. Small, slow elevators. Not enough parking.
I liked the ocean front , also that everything was in walking distance My room , the bed wasn't comfortable, which is why we stay @ Hampton , the room was handicap accessible but it was super small so how can a wheel chair fit in there, then the bathroom had no vanity , all of my items got wet from the room holding much moisture when the AC was in use. The furniture in my room didn't look updated. If it had not been for the Hampton Inn logos I would've thought I was in a motel 6 . This hotel needs to be updated, the rooms that is. The foyer & lobby area is beautiful , but the minute I stepped in my room it was pure disappointment. The closet I could hang my cloths in because the rack was to low, then there's the table top ironing board. I have to say as a hilton honors member , this was the worse Hampton I've stayed @. The outside beauty saved me from asking for a refund .
Good location can walk to everything Had to wait to check in.
would be good if staff were able to answer questions about area better, for example,is there a local gym to work out at,local restaurants..
The service and convenience was great. Amenities were better than expected. Very laid back made for a comfortable stay. Only way to underground garage is through elevator - no exterior entrance
Great value and the room was big.
location was perfect for us
Large kitchenette rooms. 4th floor room internet was very poor. Remember dial up? Room was dated. View of parking garage. Shower only in bathroom with weak water pressure. They ask for another $10 resort fee when checking in. Not sure what that fee is for because if you want to use beach chairs there is another charge.
One front desk person was very nice, while the other was in the wrong job for customer service.
The location. We hated the view, we go a view of the dumpster! We wanted to switch to ocean view and room wasn't available. The guest relation services would leave early and didn't always have the information I needed. That department really needed improvement,
I love the front desk help. Also like the activities Dept. They have activities daily for the whole family. Been there 4 years in a row. N/A
Convenience to dining, beach and price along with hotel comfort, also, the roominess. We have stayed with Daytona Beach Regency several times
I liked that the hotel was a few feet from the beach. The staff was friendly. Room was clean and we had kitchen stuff to cook with. Pans, plates, utensils etc. Little stove, microwave, refrigerator. We cooked our own breakfast. The pool area was very nice and not busy at all. They had an area where you can grill. Hotel provided daily activities for guest. I didn't partake but thought it was cool. I would stay here again but probably without a car next time. Parking was hard. We lucked out with it but seems like we always took the last parking spot, they push you to talk to the concierge to sell timeshare. I avoided that entirely. I had read in a review that they will call your room. They suggested to unplug the phone which I did. I'm not sure if the maid comes daily but our room was never cleaned. When she did knock we were still getting ready for the day. She never returned to clean. Other hotel housekeepers usually come back to clean. Our trash can stayed full.
Room was very big, great view of both the ocean and city, staff was very helpful Router for the wireless connection was unavailable
