B&B Villa San Marco - Agrigento - Building
1
9.4 Excellent (774 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING! This is a truly a sanctuary owned and run by a lovely kind family. Surely this is Agrigento's best kept secret!!
Cons: LED lights are better for energy saving and a much more ambient and natural light ☆
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old house situated on a large estate populated with fragrant flowers, olive trees, and cute pets. Lovely breakfast terrace with a view of the "Valley of the Temples". The staff were very polite and professional.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: B & B at a rustic country estate, run by supernice family. Home made breakfast on the patio with a superior view.
Cons: Would have liked some home-cooked dinner by “Mamma” Peacocks were a little aggressive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful homey old-world setting with magnificent temple views (and easy proximity to museum and temple ground) and lovely grounds, including pool, and room. The family members who are all involved in this property are kind, generous and helpful beyond belief. They treated us like family when our flat-tired car limped into the gas station five minutes away until it was repaired. Dinner and breakfast with family and other most interesting guests were amazing. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Not sure any of the above describes how wonderful this one-day stay was. One needs to go and experience it for themselves. You’ll never want to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family owning the place were so welcoming, and the view to the Valley of Temples was just marvelous!
Cons: Everything great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional Private room with separate entrance and outdoor patio. Room was large and very comfortable. Very close to the Valley of the Temples and good restaurants. House made breakfast was outstanding. Owners were very friendly and extremely helpful with directions, restaurants and ordering take in pizza. Highly recommend this B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place to stay in Agrigento. As many people mentioned, it is an oasis. Amazing place with amazing views, specially the Concordia temple. The accommodation just perfect. The food was also excellent, we really enjoyed the Saturday dinner. The breakfast was also delicious with homemade local products. Thank you Salvatore and family for this wonderful stay!
5.3 Okay
Pros: good location in pleasant surroundings
Cons: rather small room
6.7 Good
Pros: perfect location for viewing together all three major temples in the Valley of Temples, especially at night when the monuments are lit. Lovely country location, quite close (by car on dirt country road to main road) to restaurants and main attractions. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, breakfast on terrace facing monuments in the company no cons for us- of family pets, farm animals and gorgeous peacocks. Owners were very friendly and helpful and even came to our rescue when we missed our way despite the detailed directions sent to us - it was already dark and we had not taken the most traveled route into Agrigento. We still like using maps and relying on our ability of travelers when traveling than using the ever more popular GPS.
Cons: Though it may need more work and organization perhaps the owners might consider offering the choice - ONLY to their guests - of a pre-ordered one-size- fits -all typical, simple, Sicilian family style meal in the evening. Our room was more like an apartment with a very interesting antique kitchen with a table for computer work and a very private back patio. Unfortunately one wall of the bedroom backed to the goat pen and one night the goats began to bleat and it was quite uncomfortable. Had the pen been further away from the house it would not have been a problem as there was no problem with the roosters of the neighboring properties.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our host Alphonso, he was so accommodating and helpful with wonderful recommendations to visit . The Sicilian breakfast with his mother's homemade preserves were magnificent along with fresh croissant and other treats. We would highly recommend upgrading to the suite for a few euros more the spaciousness of the room and the magnificent view were well worth it. Be sure to walk and dine on the main Street in the evening you won't regret it. We will always remember the music playing as we ate our gelato
Cons: The city center ( which is where the property is located) is spectacular, but the outskirts and driving to the accommodation is a little questionable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alfonso was a terrific host. After us getting lost and not finding the lodging, Alfonso came to get us on his scooter! Very nice of him. The apartment was in the 12 th floor with great views out the windows. Beds were nice and comfortable, a bit hard but comfy anyways. Breakfast was served in the morning in our private kitchen. Fresh pastries, bread with home made jams, yogurts. Very nice spread. Shower was excellent. The location was perfect.
Cons: Nothing to complain about. Maybe hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Alfonso was a wonderful host. There are great views from the top apartment, and the property is right in the center of town. It is fantastic value. Easy access by car if one goes along the street below to the 8 Euro car park. The breakfasts were presented beautifully. It is not far to Favara, the archeological sites and the Turkish steps. '
Cons: The "sweet" breakfast option was a bit sweet for our tastes. A fruit option would be nice. Also it would be good if an electric jug was provided to boil water, along with cups (and ideally tea/coffee) for use in the room, not just at breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for wandering the old town of Agrigento and getting to the Valley of the Temples. Breakfast was a real treat and beautifully served by Alfonso.
Cons: We had no problems with the accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The table was set up for breakfast beautifully! We had two amazing pastries each. I had the best croissant filled with ricotta I've ever had in my life!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host. Terrific location with views over the temple valley. If traveling by train, this is a perfect location. Even by car in the old city, it was easy to get to and park nearby. We had a two bedroom two bath suite, perfect for two couples traveling together or a family. That is not easy to find.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room on the 11th floor with plenty of space. Splendid views towards the sea. Free parking was difficult, but the underground car park for 8€ per night is very convenient. It is only a short walk to lots of very nice, good value restaurants. Alfonso was a good host. We enjoyed his breakfast and our conversations with him. The valley of Temples is a must to visit and is only a short distance away. Tip: Park at the bottom car park, take taxi (3€ each) to the top of the valley, and walk back.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: exellent location and veri frendly host
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location, location, the view from the bedroom, the view from the livingroom, the owner. very easy to find a parking spot - which is a big plus. tip: stay on the balcony after midnight to have a perfect view of the city.
Palazzo del Teatro - Agrigento - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (939 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Palazzo del Teatro in Agrigento, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Valley of the Temples and Agrigento Town Hall. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location - right in the centre of the old town. Lovely room - very comfortable.
Cons: Parking arrangement. Despite great feedback from other guests about the complimentary parking in the nearby parking garage we were not offered this option. We were told by the staff member who checked us in to park on a public street in front of a rental car office - which we did eventhough it seemed strange. The morning staff made it clear that was not correct and rushed to park the car in the supposedly free garage but we had to pay. E 3.50 while we returned to the hotel to have breakfast. For an upmarket B&B this was a rather bizzare incident. Communicating with staff can be hard if you don't speak Italian.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place. Clean, well maintained Very nice breakfast Staff was helpfull Too bad about the parking incident
Cons: Parking is supposed to be provided free In the morning when we checked out we were told that there were no more validated parking tickets for the car park This seems very strange for such a nice place that seems to be well organized I asked if something could be done about this I was told no So we we had to pay 8 euros to get our car out of the parking garage Too bad to end our stay on an unpleasant note
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well kept, nice rooms, good breakfast and a very good staff, helpful and happy. Situated in a little piazza, beautiful!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central location in old city; check-in was very efficient; room and bathroom were clean;
Cons: Room and bathroom had an overly-perfumed smell (probably because of the perfume in the cleaning supplies and the incense sticks), was difficult for someone with allergies.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The hotel is located in an ancient building. Beautifully inside.
Cons: Booked a 4-person room. We were placed in a room where it is difficult to stay for 3 people. They did not give us an extra bed. This bed and nowhere to put! I had to rent another room, and this is an unexpected cost. It looks like a deception! I do not recommend this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely and super welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is superb!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room clean and nicely updated. Convenient parking nearby. Nice breakfast. Wine and deserts welcomed us to room, though I was unable to open wine bottle. Young man at check in was kind in showing me the way to reach the parking lot by accompanying me there.
Cons: When we called for directions to parking, receptionist at front desk was most unhelpful, perhaps because of difficulty with English. Since the hotel is not located on a street but up a stairwell from a restricted piazza, we had to drive for an hour to eventually reach it or somewhere nearby. While bathroom was tasteful, it could be more functional with a shelf since the pedestal sink offered no surface.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is absolutely charming and was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotels are so wonderfully situated next to the beautiful Piazza Luigi Pirandello. I was surprised how easy it was to find despite crooked streets of the city. Parking is complementary in a garage about 50 m down below the plaza.
Cons: It was all good. My favorite hotel in Sicily so far!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is very kind, helpful and hospitable. He offered us information and a map of the area. He recommended a couple restaurants and parking spots nearby. The b&b is very Central and quiet. He let us choose the room we preferred. Also he informed us about the free parking on Sunday and the free entrance in valey of the temples on the first Sunday of the month. Sweet breakfast very good and with a lot of choices. We strongly recommend. Overall Agrigento exceeded our expectations.

Pros: The location and the staff, a very gentle guy called Andrea.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Unfortunately during a heavy thunderstorm on our second night water leaked in. Andreas quickly changed our room and called for maintenance - 11 pm at night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean hotel. Nothing to complain. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Everything was to mu liking
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, especially at the restaurant. Also the breakfast was the best we had in Sicilia. The private pool was a once in a life experience (except maybe for honeymoon again)
Cons: Already at our arrival the power of our room went off two times. The staff fixed the problem very fast - at least we thought. At our last night there was a thunderstorm. In the Night the power of the hole village went off (we were told the next morning). Irritating was that nobody told us in the night, what the problem was or if there was anything we need (for example with our baby). At 6:30 the staff shut on the power again. Unfortunately the staff forgot or didn’t care about that in result of the switched on power the curtains automatically open. Things got worse when the power went off at least two times again and the staff turned on the power again so that the curtains opened.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good open location great view of valley of temples. Staff made it possible to get a tire fixed on our rental car. Staff picked us up because our car GPS could not find the location.

Pros: Great location. Handy for public transport- buses and trains - and right at the start of the main shopping street. A clean, comfortable place which worked well for sightseeing.
Cons: Breakfast was slightly unconventional- having to choose the day before what I might enjoy the next day!

Pros: There was access to a large and lovely balcony that overlooks the city and its cathedral. The valley of the Temples is worth visiting! Allow at least three hours to do so. The valley is easily accessible by a regular bus service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good and generous and beyond my expectation. The location was very convenient and close to the train station and on the main street running through town centre. It was close to restaurants, bars and shopping. The owner was easy to communicate with. The place felt secure.
Cons: The staircase was very narrow and quite steep and there were lots of stairs. They kindly gave us a lower level room and helped to bring our bags up and down. The front door downstairs was a bit hard to close fully without banging it shut.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good with large choice.
Cons: Mobile phone is a must for contacting owner for info on how to gain entrance. Room was up 4 flights of stairs, quite onerous for us in our 70s.

Cons: Nothing !!

The rooms and house are very elegant and it is a joy to sit on the terrasse and watch the sun go down while enjoying a glass of wine. Within few minutes of driving you get to Agrigento and the temples . We‘d love to come back
Cons: For our taste the beds could be softer but we haven’t really found this yet in Italy The outside of the villa isn’t very inviting but given the climate and water situation, totally understandable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Surroundings instantly give a countryside vibe, house is gigantic and decorated in a vintage italian style. Everything was very clean, room was spacious and beds were comfortable, and most of all the view was absolutly divine. We loved chilling on the terrasse, sitting in the big chairs, watching over the land, the goats and the trees. Breakfast was served in a magnificient room, everything was fresh and delicious (you'll get to try peruvian green fresh eggs). A special thanks to our hosts, who were adorable and gave us plenty of advices and history background on the area.

5.0 Okay
Pros: This hotel was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to walk to local restaurants for dinner. Good spot to stay as it’s walking distance to the main strip, local trattorias and the Valley of the Temple ruins are only a short drive away.
Cons: It is located on a main intersection and the mechanical shutters were faulty in the bedroom making it very noisy, especially as the traffic lights weren’t working for more than 24hours so there was nonstop honking of car horns and yelling (mayhem) from the early hours of the morning. We felt we were quite unlucky to stay in this particular apartment. When I spoke to management to alert them to the faulty blinds for future guests, there was no response. If light and noise don’t bother you it’s in a good spot.

Pros: Service was outstanding and the location was great for seeing the Valley of the Temples and not getting into a lot of traffic issues. Food at the hotel was outstanding! Room was very nice with great view.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: 5 min from the valley of temples, great service, good hotel restaurant, free parking, comfortable fitness room.
Cons: The room was a bit old, shower head needed to be replaced.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Average breakfast. Paying extra for a view of the valley from the room may have been worth it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable view of the valley of the temples and the Med. Good trattorias nearby and parking included. Comfortable room and very helpful staff
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Near a few restaurants although we eat in the hotel restaurant. Great views of the valley of the temples as that was the reason we were in Agrigento. Breakfast was good and so was the dinner the night before. Staff were friendly.
Cons: The safe in the room is tiny and could even half our gadgets and documents. It doesn't have the code pad and uses a key which you don't seem to get at check-in so, in the end, looking at the size of the safe and the size of our camera and laptop we ended up just carrying those in our backpack at dinner and breakfast instead of having to go back to reception to get a key for what was already a small safe.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the beautiful common areas, dining room and gardens with view of temples. It was late December and not overly crowded.
Cons: The staff needed more updated information about access to the temples. They directed us to walk to the nearby archaeological museum, which we did, and then to take a special pedestrian pathway to the temples. They didn’t know, and the museum staff told us, that the special pedestrian pathway from the museum to the temples is closed in winter. The museum staff advised against walking along the regular road for cars, saying there was no sidewalk and it was quite dangerous. They advised returning to the Colle Verde Hotel and taking our car to the temples. We lost some time having to go back for our car, and let the hotel staff know that their information was incorrect. They apologized and said the archaeological site had not informed them of the seasonal closure of the pedestrian path. This was the only inconvenience we experienced. Otherwise our stay was very pleasant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was great: service, cleanliness and location (able to walk to the Valley of the Temples).
Cons: In-house restaurant had limited menu,. although we recognize we stayed in the offseason. Also, wifi didn't work well in our 3rd floor room.

Pros: good location, free parking area with cover, good food and breakfast mostly made out of agriculture products. Family run business, Good and comfortable room.
Cons: At the time of our stay Internet was not available due to power cut, Owners could do nothing about it as it was beyond their capabilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved Manuel and Marzia. They were very nice and provided an excellent stay. We loved the farm and Manuel told us about his olive trees and gave us a taste of his wonderful lemoncello. The dinner made by their mom was top notch and I would love to eat there again. We loved that all ingredients are natural, locally sourced(mostly from their own farm!).
Cons: It would use a bigger sign by the road so it is easier to find.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: the dinners were excellent
Cons: Was a bit hard to find as gps did not seem to understand the terrain but that is not a complaint re the Band B.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner were fresh and very tasty. Wonderful cooking and great wine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay, very helpful staff. The dinner was excellent and very good value.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Idyllic agriturismo surrounded by olive trees. The rooms are basic, clean and comfortable. The terrace is beautiful and perfect for a little relax and a read. You should really book dinner here - you will get authentic delicious Sicilian food at an affordable price (25 Euro pp for 3 courses and wine at the time of writing), you will also meet fellow travelers at the big family dinner table.
Cons: Nothing really. Some reviews complain about the street but it's in the nature of agriturismos that they are in the country side where you won't find a freshly tarred 6-lane highway. If you cannot manage that road you gonna get into more trouble driving in Sicily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, very clean, nice atmosphere! Very friendly and helpful owner! Dinner was excellent!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, friendliness of the host, the scenery and the delicious dinner and breakfast
Cons: nothing

6.0 Good
Pros: The location is perfect, right on the beach.
Cons: The room was quite small and the hotel restaurant was closed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The closeness to the beach and the pool
Cons: That the balcony could barely fit 2 people. Also, the corridor next to our room had a ceiling leak with plastic down to catch the drip. Ceiling and walls were molding which made me uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel by the beach. Clean and quiet. The staff is very nice. Breakfast good. Good value for money.
Cons: Not a four stars hotel
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The presence of a restaurant in the hotel with room service was a great resource considering that there's almost nothing in the surroundings. The big terrace with seaview, where you can also dry your clothes, was a big plus.
Cons: The mattress was not the most comfortable, the bathroom quite basic and the bedroom a bit small for a four star hotel, but it was clean and calm and perfect for relaxing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, right on the beach, easy parking, we had lovely sea view room with a nice balcony. Nice and friendly staff. They had a baby bed ready for us as promised.
Cons: Two glasses of Prosecco and 2 French fries were 25€! That’s way over the top, considering we had full lunch at the fish restaurant next door for 36€! The pool was not very clean, but considering it’s the end of the season we didn’t mind. It was nice for our little one just to splash the leggies in there.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: STAFF were friendly and very helpful. Rooms are WELL maintained (larger SIZE than we expected) and EXCEPTIONALLY clean. GREAT selection of breakfast, and LOCATION wise - a short drive to "Stair of the Turks". Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the property. Thank Q ...
Cons: N/A
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Older (slightly worn) hotel on the waterfront with pool. It is a short drive to Agrigento and the old city, yet provides a quiet oasis. It is also walking distance to Scala di Turche.
