Smoke free, non-casino Slow elevator; no service elevator
Place was clean looked modern. The only Thing was the location it was in the heart of Reno but had a few pan handlers approach me. However I think that's just how Reno is now in general
Location, good service and cleanliness. Non smoking a plus. Good size room. The finish line to a marathon was right outside the hotel and someone was using a loud speaker at 7AM IN THE MORNING to announce runners crossing and getting the crowd riled up. Then police on a motorcycle proceeded to use their sirens as the runners were getting getting close and finishing. Went on foe more than an hour. That was awful. Had I known I would have stayed somewhere else. Did not get the sleep and rest I was looking for Sunday morning because of the marathon. It was awful.
This hotel is a gem in the middle of the desert. The location is fantastic, within walking distance from many attractions. The rooms were private and relatively noise-canceling. The only time we heard our neighbors was when they would let the doors slam. The absolute best part about the hotel is that the entire venue is smoke-free and non-gaming. Check out was a breeze, and valet had our car ready before we made it down from our room. Overnight valet parking was a bit expensive, especially for those who do not require in and out privileges. Vegetarian options in regards to room service were very limited, but it wouldn't keep us from coming back.
The entire place was incredibly clean! Thank goodness for a Non-Casino based Hotel in Reno! Finally a place we can stay without all the noise and awful smoke! Nothing worse for a non smoker than waking up sick in the morning from all the smoke you had to wade through; or worse the smoke that seeps into your room. We will definitely be back, see you soon! Parts of the surrounding blocks are a bit shady looking. BUT it appears to be improving.
Location Small corridors in entrance area, no casino
Comfort The bed was fantastic--one of the best I've slept in at a hotel. The rooms are kept very clean and the housekeeping staff are great. Location -Upside The location is very convenient and makes access to surrounding events and venues a short walk. Family Friendly Non-smoking and non-gaming make this a unique hotel perfect for families. The climbing walls (indoor and outdoor) looked like a lot of fun and I would have tried them had I not been so busy. Cramped and slow The elevators are slow and malfunctioned several times during my stay. The entry felt as though I was sneaking in the back door of a night club. There was no convenience store and all of the public areas felt cramped. Location - Downside The convenient location can be a bad thing as my last night found me trying to sleep with a rock concert going on in the street literally under my window. Admittedly, though, I did try to go to bed early and the music was over by 10:30. Internet Deficiency The W-Fi was horrible. It was spotty and required accepting of the terms every time it reconnected. The Wi-Fi that's free with your stay was slower than my cell phone and the broadband we paid for in hosting a conference wasn't much faster. *What's worse, that broadband was down for two of the three days of our conference.* That was a whole lot of money down the tubes.
Decor, room & staff were amazing. The hotel has a very active-lifestyle, current, relevant, green, boutique vibe. Very hippster yet unpretentious and comfortable. We will say here everytime we are in Reno. It is also right in the heart of the casino strip if that's your thing and the river district. Hotel restaurant has a great vibe but we had dinner elsewhere. Excited to eat at the restaurant, we were disappointed to be told there was a wait for the kitchen to catch up even though half the restaurant was empty. We don't terribly mind a wait but were further surprised that we were not offered an empty table for a drink or two. No pagers or method of contact were available to let us know when they could seat us, which made the situation a bit more ackward. We finally made the decision to eat elsewhere, at Campo and were so glad we did. Excellent food & service!
The room and bed were comfy I like everything pritty much
Coffer maker in the room was nice...personal Keurig Breakfast was bad and one morning there was no hot food.
Friendly awesome staff - from checkin, to restaurant on site, to valet. Clean and beautiful hotel. Look forward to coming back to Reno.
Reno is usually about dingy hotel rooms inside of casinos. This hotel was the first time we had ever seen anything different, and it was really nicely done. The renovation was high end and nicely done, from the public spaces to the individual rooms. The staff was also super friendly. There were two drawbacks. One was the parking. The garage was really gross, with garbage everywhere and even an abandoned car. The garage entrance is far from the hotel entrance. The garage has an attendant hiding in a room so it's as though the garage is unattended and anyone off the street can go in there. And on top of all that the hotel doesn't validate parking. It's just a random downtown garage that isn't part of the hotel and doesn't feel very safe. The other drawback was that everything in the hotel closes early so if you want to do anything other than sleep you might have to go to the casinos anyway.
Very good location! Easy to find foods and activities. Tv was not able to turn on. We made call after calls to front desk & service center. Then, we waited over 5 hours before someone showed up past midnight. All they said was sorry.
The people; staff were courteous, and even joyful.. Carpets in corridors were worn and dirty - 14th floor. In general, the property seemed a bit dated.
Nothing. Had to get smoking room.
Didn't like much. Poor experience at the buffet. Parking garage full each night I was there. Not enough tables open in casino. Jacuzzi and gym shut down due to broken pipe. Not friendly. Dirty bathroom and carpet filthy.
If you are going to Reno to play some slots maybe some table games or keno Harrah's is just fine a little small compared to some of the surrounding Casinos and a little outdated feeling but there was enough games to keep us occupied. But if you are going to Reno to bet on sports then Harrah's is not the casino you would want to visit. Their sports book area is small old with small T.V.s and no sound there is limited seating and no wait staff for eating or drinking, the areas that have larger screens and better seating are kept shut down most of the time and when they are open there was no wait staff.
No self parking after circling around the lot several times. Finally called the front desk and wa advised to self park at a valet spot. Sold out night and did not get 2 double beds as charged by kayak.com. A group of friends had to squeeze in king size bed (in 2 rooms) and slept on the dirty carpeted floor. Canceled 3rd room booked with 2 beds because it was unavailable. Horrible experience!
Nice price room was great and we did not have any other guess making loud noises. Love the steak house
Great Location Great Staff Shuttle to and from Airport - Edwin is Awesome! My bed made me itch. Not sure if it was detergent, bugs... I slept on top of the covers. The shower drain drained slowly.
Every single thing...!!! Food, fun, full of great people & full of peace...!!! You can have everything together...
Room was clean, comfortable, smoke-free by floor a big plus. Staff at check-in were helpful and friendly. Hash House a-go-go had awesome chicken and waffles! Table games were not open Sunday night. Entire casino area smelled of smoke
Light from hall visible under the door and not conducive for sleeping. Large space under the door also allowed for transmission of sounds as guests came and went through the halls throughout the night.
There was plenty of things to do The staff was not familiar and didnt want to hornor their total rewards program. They failed even in trying to help with the problem and didnt attempt to educate themselces from other employees
The only redeeming factor in our stay there was the location. Of the two elevators, one was out of service (apparently for months) and the other one was extremely slow, taking 18 seconds to open on each floor. This lone elevator serviced 18 floors and gave me the impression of it might quit at any time. Additionally there was a sign on the stairs saying “For emergency fire use only.” Talk about having a trapped feeling. The Cal Neva's rooms show obvious neglect in maintenance; there were holes in the bathroom door, flooring coming up in the bathroom, faucets that barely functioned and a broken chair at the desk near the bed. In all it was not a good experience and I will never stay there again and do not recommend that anyone else stays there either. The Cal Neva should use some of their profits and maintain or better yet update their stinking hotel.
Sheets made me itch. Carpet was really dirty. Bathroom doesn't flush properly. TV needs upgrade. Smelled really bad. Light bulbs were disgusting and a couple weren't working. Elevator is outdated and feels like it's gonna break on you.
