Encounter the Coastal South Carolina lowcountry at the Best Western Plus Hardeeville Inn & Suites located in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Experience a place where you’re number one at a hotel that takes care of your needs. Located right off Interstate 95 and moments away from historic downtown Savannah.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great- good mixture of options. Bed was comfortable, location was nice being right off the exit.
Cons: First room we checked into had a horrible smell and was 85 degrees when we walked in. Went to use the toilet and it was clogged. I went out to the lobby (the lobby button on the phone doesn't work- didn't tell me that until after I had to walk to the lobby regarding the toilet) the young man either misunderstood me or something but instead of dealing with the clogged toilet he handed me a plunger (keep in mind, this was NOT my doing, it was clogged when we walked in). I was kind of just stunned so I walked back to my room. Husband went back out and convinced them to move us to a new room. New room was nice but the towels were all stained and I ended up just using a face towel to dry off because I didn't want to deal with them anymore.
6.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is right off I-95, it is convenient and clean. One issue I had is the dark curtains do not cover the window and the light, only a light sheer see thru curtain covers the window. This is not just an issue with light coming into the room early am, but with a first floor room facing the parking lot it is easy to see in the room.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Walking into the lobby I was greeted with the overwhelming smell of must... like an old, wet basement. My first assigned room had trash on the floor and a giant stain of some unknown substance on the curtain. The towels and bedding appeared to be well worn and not tight fitting. I went to the desk and was given a second room where it had a visible stain and big red hair on the bed. I found this to be substandard, went to the front desk and checked out. I was not charged, however the staff didn't seem too upset I was leaving and didn't offer much but a sorry for my trouble and wasted time. Don't waste your time. Life is too short.

These comments were taken verbatim from the home guest book or an email, each guest has thanked us profusely. “We loved the house. The space was great and the location was amazing. Everyone was blown away by all the attention to detail; it seems that you have thought of everything and put lots of love and time into the house. Everything was perfect. I would take a great view of the marshes over oceanfront any day, they're so interesting and beautiful!” Casey “This is one of the most awesome places we have stayed in. The quiet evenings and natural views will never be forgotten. So home like! Loved it!” Donna "Your home and setting are beautiful and so peaceful. We couldn't have chosen a better place." Georgian “The view was gorgeous, the grass lush, the landscaping beautiful with all the plants and sculptures. The house was immaculate and had everything we could ever need!” Deborah “Hate to leave, everything was perfect!" Mary “Your generous spirit exudes everywhere! I loved the area and your little slice of heaven was just what I needed.” Debbie “We had a wonderful family visit and everything about Waters Edge was perfect for our stay. We found the place 'speckless' (my daughter's word)! The sun on the marsh at 7am is beautiful. All info was clear, concise and extensive. Price is more than reasonable to boot.” Sumner “The brief stay was so much more than we expected! It was serene, yet flavored with adventure. We love everything about this place and will return again for a longer stay. The swing is great! The dolphins spectacular! This little home provided memories of a lifetime.” Jeff “What a wonderful find to celebrate 50 years of marriage! So peaceful and tranquil, a retreat from our busy lives. We feel blessed.” Saundra “Definitely have to experience Waters Edge first hand to fully appreciate it. The cleanliness and the clean lines of your furnishings is exemplary. We talked about other vacations when we have been by the ocean and never noticing the tides as we did here. The marshlands are beautiful and they gave us the opportunity to see the rise, fall and currents. Fascinating!” Beth “Wow! What a beautiful place. Better than the photos online. Best of all we saw a dolphin swim by us while we were on the dock. Sublime!” Sharolch “We really enjoyed our stay here. Some of our favorite things – tether ball in the yard, the ring toss game on the deck and finding sharks teeth at Sands Beach.” Angie “Everything was well-thought-out, serene and squeakily clean (puts our house to shame). It was perfect, thanks to you Cheryl.” Judy “Felt like a home away from home, very relaxing, with a beautiful view.” Nancy "If I win the lottery tonight, I'll make you an offer you can't refuse!" Donna “Beautiful place. You went out of your way with so many thoughtful touches - the homemade chocolate chip cookies, the fire pit all ready for marshmallows. All the info and tips about the area, the well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Everything was perfect. My granddaughters especially loved the swing! We had a wonderful time.” Deborah “Beautiful Place! Your hospitality is wonderful and we will be back soon! Our entire family really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and beautiful views.” David “You have a little piece of heaven. The views were amazing!” Giovapnoli, Rome, Italy. “Such a lovely property and lovely view. The house is well appointed and stocked. The house instructions couldn't have been clearer. A HUGE bonus were the cooking supplies this is RARE in rental properties and MUCH appreciated.” Karen “The kids ages 15, 27, 29 loved the place and were pleased to see that you had so much set up for them to do. We enjoyed our first vacation home rental.” Marla “Thanks for putting so much thought and effort into this place! We can't wait to come back and stay longer!” Tarra “We so enjoyed your piece of HEAVEN! You were a great host, incredibly organized, accommodating and genuinely welcoming. When looking at possibilities, your place was a slam dunk. The price is very reasonable and the accommodations perfect. The use of kayak and canoe provided a tremendous savings as well as enjoyment to my family. I would like to share one more thing with you regarding my wife. She likes to be in the middle of things. To be in close proximity to the market as well as other stores. Well let me tell you, Waters Edge opened her eyes to what something off the beaten path can provide. Not that Waters Edge is that far removed from things but to her it was OUT THERE, this opened the door for future possibilities for our family. I share this with you because you touched us all in ways that you probably didn’t realize.” Norm “We couldn't have picked a better place to have a family vacation. We so enjoyed your beautiful deck and awesome views! You have a little slice of heaven here.” Patty “What a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of nature and the zen of life. We love the coastal life and Hunting Island is unmatched.” Karen “Loved your place. Nice big deck with an awesome view! The fire pit was a plus. This is a great place for a family picking up their marine to come back to each night.” Ivy “I just wanted to say THANKS for helping to make our 22nd anniversary a special one. The house is way better than the description on the website and the pictures just don't do it justice. We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to and watching nature especially the wildlife in the mornings and evenings. Getting to watch dolphins from the deck was a super treat.” Angie “Loved everything. Seeing dolphins so close was wonderful. Everything was perfect.” Katherine “The place is beautiful and so relaxing.” Ellen “We enjoyed your beautiful place very much. We really appreciated your handbook with things to do, places to eat and the Hunting Island ocean front pass.” Susan “The views are awesome. The sculptures outside the home are beautiful.” Ginny “We were impressed by this beautiful house, its view and were thrilled with all of the exciting activities you suggested for us." Tom "A beautiful view. The decor made us feel right at home.” Gina “Wonderful experience, it was a memorable vacation for all of us. We enjoyed all of the extra effort that you put into our stay.” Chad “We really loved our stay on McCalley Creek. You are a truly wonderful host. It is reassuring to know that an area with such natural beauty and wonder has people like you who are passionate about it and help to ensure it is protected.” Rebecca “Beautiful house. We spent a lovely Christmas here, capturing the view from your wonderful deck. We can't wait to come back.” Karen “Perfection!" James We are so grateful what we offer is loved by our guests. Looking forward to hosting you and yours at Waters Edge.

7.1 Good
Pros: Great location accommodation
Cons: Read the vouchers carefully, what you think you order vs what they compensate you for differ greatly. You have to pay a lot more .
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: The man at the front desk was professional, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: This place is a dump. I’m surprised Best Western put their name on it. Run down, dirty, and drug infested. Watched one room serve crack heads all night. Loud at 2am. This is a rundown truck stop, not a quality hotel. Avoid
4.5 Okay
Pros: We stayed here on a road trip. Best Western is typically a reliably comfortable hotel but this one felt more like a Motel 6 level. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable like a pull out sofa. The sheets were of poor quality and so thin that I found it hard to sleep. They had no weight so it felt like just a sheet. The hotel was the kind where you go outside to enter your room rather than within an enclosed hotel. I can not recommend this hotel especially for 100. per night. If it was a 45. hotel it would be fine.
Cons: The mattress, sheets, price and being a room outside. Also the AC was either too hot or cold.

5.1 Okay
Pros: I've stayed there a couple times a year for about 5 years. The price has been going up and it's no longer a good value and the internet service is horrible. If decent WIFI is important to you avoid this place.
Cons: I've stayed there a couple times a year for about 5 years. The price has been going up and it's no longer a good value and the internet service is horrible. If decent WIFI is important to you avoid this place. I mentioned the internet service to the desk mgr when I was checking out and he basically shrugged and said it wasn't his job, then he showed me a room card with the provider's 800 number and told me to call them to work out the problems. I told him I was paying for a room with working internet and it wasn't my job to troubleshoot their internet problems after driving 800 miles. I'd give the internet service a "D" and the desk manager an "F"
5.1 Okay
Pros: I would say breakfast was the highlight of the stay. The sausage gravy and biscuits were great, and my sidekick enjoyed the waffle station.
Cons: The room was worn down and looked dirty. I suppose you get what you pay for. The smell of the room wasn't great either. 23 won't be staying here again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Salt water pool.
Cons: Shower head leaked, but at least no problems with water temperature.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Check in was easy, and there were plenty of rooms, recently updated (new-ish furniture and fresh paint)
Cons: The fact that there was AMG and discoloration and growth in multiple areas of the room (behind the toilet mold growth, and large ceiling stains in main room) Humidity was extremely high in room. We stayed anyways because we were tired and not sensitive to mold growth - but that doesn’t mean the n cut people won’t be. I made the front desk aware at check out.
