Overall stay was fine, only problem was the washbasin would not drain water. We had complained about it to staff, but it was not repaired.
Everything was clean nice Friendly
Well located for San Diego Marathon
Distinct smell of cigarette smoke in our "non-smoking" room
Location was ok, you can have a smoke really easy just by going out, but thats it.
We found a roach walking around the handwasher, where our toothbrushes were, so I had to go to a close by store and purchase new toothbrushes, the front desk lady wouldnt help us with that, only gave me the phone number for the manager whom "was never available to take the phone call"(cause I tried for a week after our visit), and with all that trouble, the hotel still charged the deposit for leaving later than anticipated due to this incident of having to go outside before leaving. We had the king size bed which could've been comfortable but it had some kind of plastic beneath the sheets and it was really hard to take off so it was noisy and really sweaty in the night even when the weather was great. Carpet was really stained This was the second time I stayed at this hotel, our first visit was good but never again, it seems they just stopped trying.
When we checked in, we were hoping for a non-smoking room, but were placed in a room that had obviously been used by a smoker. I almost never complain, but had to. My kids were coughing and complaining about the "gross" smell. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our request right away. The second room was the polar opposite: very clean, comfortable, and pleasant.
We were within 100 yards of two different "nude review" establishments. The hotel was a very basic, bare-bones facility in an industrial neighborhood. It is central to a lot of San Diego's attractions, but not the most pleasant, family-friendly place I've stayed. During the day I felt fairly safe, but when the sun set, I had a general feeling of being unsafe and on high alert.
It was close to the airport as well as not far from where my friend lived. She was able to stay over with me at the beginning and end of my visit. She picked me up from the airport and we toured around, stayed over the first night and then went to her home. On the last night we toured around near the airport and stayed over again so I could get an early morning flight the next day. She took me to the airport for the flight as there was no other way to get there.
I didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke and not feeling secure. The first night on arriving at our room and trying to use the card to open the door we found that there was not only someone in the room but it was likely a homeless person and his bicycle!! None of the staff seemed perturbed by that! On the second stay the room, a non smoking room, stunk of cigarette smoke. We were kept awake by loud voices in the room next door. My friend heard a loud argument that sounded like it might turn violent when she awoke in the night. I was glad that I wasn't there alone! Not a safe place for a woman to stay alone!!
Room was big. Flat screen tv
Carpet was dirty and stained. And cockaroaches crawling in bed and walls. They really have a roach problem. All the locations I've stayed at have the roach problem. Especially the Chula Vista location. But this one had them on bed I did not sleep well
Location, location, location... Right off the I-5, 24 hour denny's a short walk away along with a great burrito place. There were other opportunities only a short distance. Good staff, well kept rooms, simple and to the point.
No ironing board and iron. Some guy slipped a restaurant pamphlet through top of the door during the night, freaky. Adult strip club and a adult store very close, watch your surroundings walking about.
It was close to Old town.
the pillows were hard as well a the towels.
Friendly staff. FANTASTIC location. Well-lit parking lot. Overall, we are very satisfied for what we got vis-a-vis the very reasonable price.
The bedding and interior of the rooms in general is old and drab, but for the price this place is a great value and we anticipate staying here again.
Smelled like a bar, old spilled beer and marijuana
Comfortable bed, clean room
Extremely hard to find. Very rude staff, stripper club across the street
Cheap and reasonably well-located
Check-in line was horribly long - I had to wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes at midnight on Friday/Saturday to get checked in.
Couldnt medicate in room because of lack of smoking rooms
location was good
No Microwave, no blow drier, no iron, clogged toilet
