very friendly staff and perfect location for me.
The lack of parking spaces, however it was do-able and once we parked the car we did not need it again until we completed our stay.... more
Of course, the only two good things about the hotel are the location and the price. Other than that, not so much.
The heater did not work, the phone did not work and the refrigerator never cooled our items. Bring your own space heater or you will freeze to death. All I can say is bring your own phone, refrigerator and space heater because none in my room worked at all. It was a place to store our stuff and to lay our heads down at night and that is it. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Most of the time, there was no one at the front desk. Ring the bell over and over and still no staff. You are kind of left to fend for yourself at this place. The best thing about it is the location, it's near the Muni, just right outside and of course, the price. Other than that, be prepared. ... more

Straight down the middle 3/OK rating. Booked the hotel due to the proximity to SFSU for an orientation visit and it was OK for that. Room had a mini-fridge & microwave but was otherwise small/cramped for three people. Complimentary breakfast was limited continental breakfast -- breads, juice, coffee, some fruit. I was not disappointed because I booked the property for it's location and was only in the room to sleep. If just OK is not suitable for you, try another place. If you're more into what's happening outside the room (i.e. the reason in the area that you're visiting for) and don't mind a basic room, then you'll be fine. ... more
The room 'looked' fine, typical two double bed room. At first the room smelled like disinfectant, but as the minutes ticked by the room started to smell like urine. The bottom of the shower curtain was spotted in black mold. The TV and lights did not work in the room - the clerk discovered that the batteries were dead in the remote control and that the light sockets were too loose to hold the light plugs. The next morning - unfortunately/fortunately we had to stay one night - I complained to the manager and he said he did not know anything about the urine odor, maybe the carpets need cleaning (how about replacing?), but that the shower curtain was clean but they can not get the stain(s) out. Suffice it to say I will never stay at a Days Inn again! ... more
