The Hotel is just a 5 minute walk from San José center, the capital of Costa Rica, and only 15 minutes by car from Juan Santamaría International Airport. Furthermore, it provides easy access to the main business, shopping and leisure areas in the capital.
In 2010 the hotel was renovated and presently boasts very modern facilities and many services, especially for guests visiting San José on business. The hotel has a fully-equipped business center with internet access, photocopiers, fax, messenger service and plane ticket confirmation service. In addition, it has comfortable and spacious rooms that will make your stay relaxing and pleasurable.
The Palma Real hotel has obtained the Sustainability Certificate, which helps to preserve one of the most virgin destinations in the world.
The price was very good for the quality hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
It is NOT a Casino. That is very misleading. The description of the location was misleading too. It said that the hotel was 5 minutes from the downtown Center which was false. It is near the central park but the hotel is about 0.5km into an isolated street ending.
The staff here are so friendly and kind and it really makes the place that much better. Shout out to Javier! he went out of his way. I would definitely come back because of the nice people. It was a great place to stop over until we left for the airport - shuttle service, breakfast and clean!
I was greeted with an ice cold fruit drink! The website lists free airport shuttle as one of its amenities, but the front desk man told me it was only for guests who stayed longer than 24 hours. I politely said it was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel and was disappointed that I wasn't able to use this service. He hesitatingly picked up the phone and checked with the shuttle to see if there was room for one more in the morning, and sure enough there was! So it was a great turn out - but they should advertise this on the website. Everyone was very friendly. I also was given a breakfast box to go in the morning since I had to go to the airport before breakfast was served.
Dinner was very disappointing. I ordered a beef casado, and it was the worst one I have had in Costa Rica (after 9 months of travel). I'm not too sure it was beef, and the beans were not tasty.
