Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hosts, excellent food, nice views over the hills of Barolo region.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a food lovers paradise! The restaurants nearby are good but nothing is as good as the hotel food. Everything is cooked fresh with the highest quality of ingredients. If this restaurant was in the UK, we would be looking at Michelin stars. Wonderful location, beautiful rooms. We have been here three times so far and are looking forward to going next year. The owners are clearly passionate about their business and go out of their way to make sure quests are happy with their stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second visit to Bivio - first was in autumn 2016. Both times we stayed here for the restaurant, which is exceptional, and also exceptional value for money. The cuisine features traditional regional products (hazelnuts, mountain cheeses, indigenous fassona beef, and of course - truffles!) meticulously prepared and creatively combined. An appetizer of a little fondue of robiola cheese with black truffle flakes, and a toasted brioche for dipping, was sinfully rich and delicious. The other menu items measure up to this level of quality. Extensive wine list, with good choices in all price ranges. In the mid to upper ranges, excellent choices at comparatively good value for money. A couple of pages of Barolos from many makers, including the very best, and many that you will typically not see on lists outside the Piemonte region. Hotel is comfortable. Rooms are simply furnished but spacious. Bathroom is huge (shower no tub). Parking on site. View from the room (with small balcony) across the vineyard and forested hills from this high place (2,500 feet) is lovely. There is a swimming pool and hot tub. Pool is indoors (a pavilion with large windows), a good size, and heated. We could have a comfortable swim even in early October. Staff is efficient and welcoming. We asked them (in advance) to arrange a tasting for us at a winery of their choice in the area. They did this, at an excellent winery not far away, with a full range of excellent wines from dolcetto through barolo. Reserve well in advance; Bivio is deservedly popular and has only a few rooms.
Cons: Had the same room as in 2016. It had the same problem: the shower stall floor is rimless, and is Higher than the surrounding bathroom floor. The result is the shower water tends to flow out onto the bathroom floor. I mitigated this by putting a towel on the floor outside the shower doors to block that outward/downward flow. Breakfast is adequate, but by no means outstanding. Good coffee. The location is both a plus and a minus: the route here is over steep, winding roads through the Langhe vineyards. Spectacular views along the way, but this is definitely an out of the way place. If you are looking for a stay in the hill country with spectacular food - don't hesitate! Your taste buds will thank you. But if you want a town to walk around in, and an easy drive to arrive- you don't get that here.

Pros: Lovely vineyard setting - great for a morning walk. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast setting doesn’t make the most of the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for two nights and we had a perfect time. The comfortable superior room had splendid view over the vineyards. The stuff was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was rich and delicious. Walking around the estate property was very nice. But the best was the gourmet experience at Guido Restaurant, which is situated in one of the estate buildings. We will definitely visit the hotel and the restaurant again!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was a bit hot and stuffy. Breakfast was great
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nice surrounding, also breakfast was offering a wide variety of dishes and nice service
Cons: - Cave tour too expensive (only 10% reduction for Hotel guests) - Reception not occupied in the morning, and it took longer then 5min until they were back after being called - I can expect better for a Hotel of this class - Unfortunately, our room was booked in the middle of rooms of a group of young English people that made Party all night long - I know that this is not foreseeable, but the Hotel could have booked us not right in the middle of them
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great. The stuff were so nice and apart from the bugs the hotel is spotlessly clean. The breakfast was also delicious. Laura's pastries are divine and she attended to our every request. We did the tour of the vineyard and it was amazing. Highly recommended. Christina was especially helpful in helping us choose some wines according our taste.
Cons: The only thing I would complain about, are the insects which we had in our room. A type of grey shield bug. On our first night there were about 5 in our room crawling across the ceiling light. And we found a couple every day through our stay. The worst thing is that they fly and they stink when killed. Therefore we had to close the luggage and put our stuff in the wardrobe to make sure that they do not get into our things. It is not the hotel's fault. These are found everywhere across the region.
