Everything was great, except the food.

The property itself was exquisite. The room, the pool and landscape was utterly gorgeous. Very inspirational. The staff was great as well, especially the valet.

The food was very "meh". I would have expected much more from the mac and cheese than a bowl of Kraft mac and cheese. ....As a mom, its easy to spot. The beer was flat as well. The salad had a generic sugary raspberry dressing. Its a competitive food world out there, so I think Monte Sagrado could do much better. The music in the bar was really youthful and felt like a bad night club. Staff was fine though. Everything else in the resort completely made up for the experience though!

About El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa

Overview

Discover one of the world's most celebrated, groundbreaking eco-resorts at El Monte Sagrado Living Resort Spa. Nestled against a backdrop of some of the most beautiful mountains in the Southwest, this breathtaking resort is home to The Living Spa, one of the most celebrated spas and rejuvenation centers in the nation, as well as one of Taos' most beloved chef-curated restaurants and more.

El Monte Sagrado Living Resort Spa features some of the most beautiful, authentic guest rooms and suites, each luxuriously appointed and visually stunning. Room options include 48 Taos Mountain rooms, 18 Native American suites, 12 Premiere or Global suites and six historic casitas, authentic, artisanal-style suites furnished by local artists.

Taos Mountain rooms are remarkably spacious and incredibly luxurious, featuring premium beds dressed with the finest linens, authentic Southwestern decor, giant bathrooms appointed with separate showers, soaking tubs and high-end toiletries, gas fireplaces, flatscreen TVs and private balconies, overlooking the resort's majestic gardens.

Suites are even more luxurious, each with its own distinctive character. Native American suites feature Kiva-style gas fireplaces, handcrafted stone tiles, gentle color schemes and private patios or balconies. Global-themed suites showcase some of the world's most exotic locations, featuring decor and color schemes inspired by Argentina, Bali, Tibet, Egypt, Marrakech, Mexico and Morocco; select Global suites include private hot tubs and private courtyards.

For the ultimate Southwestern immersion, El Monte Sagrado Living Resort Spa's Casita suites are a must. Casita suites feature traditional decor, crafted by local artisans, iconic kiva ceilings and private courtyard patios. Tile floors, bold colors and authentic furnishings embody the beauty and rich history of New Mexico.

All guests can experience local flavors at the resort's chef-curated De la Tierra restaurant. Helmed by reknowned Executive Chef Cristina Martinez, this popular eatery features rotating menus, showcasing regional produce. The hotel's Anaconda Bar is an equally beloved destination for guests and locals alike, featuring inventive cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, live music and more. A private wine room provides special pairings and tastings for up to eight guests upon request.
