This hotel is an EXCELLENT choice for those who want to be near, but somewhat removed, from a big city. The food was the best we had in Portugal - especially the grilled sea bass! Hotel staff and all the amenities exceeded our expectations. HIGHLY recommend Hotel Solverde Spa & Wellness Center.

The hotel was very children friendly, we had a great sea food buffet and the staff was very nice.
You have to have a car if you want to go somewhere else, no restaurants or other entertainment in walking distance. The hotel offers shuttles to Espinho and Porto.

Most of the guests were old people... The breakfast's quality was very poor. Rooms were ok but a bit old fashion. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is separated from the city, and has a railway right between the hotel and the beach (there is a tunnel to cross). The beach was very empty and we had red flag the 4 days of our stay (very drafty water) so you were not allowed to get into the water. The swimming-pool has sea (salty) water.
