I liked the Location The doors were constantly slamming all night long. Not worth the money.
The hallways had an unbearable stench. Requested a handicapped room WELL in advance and ended up with a room on the second floor dead in the center of the facility making it impossible to get to without several halls and at least one elevator or stairwell. Staff was unwilling to assist in adjusting bill based on poor accommodations and early check out. Very poor customer service. Rooms weren't very updated for the price or comparable to the area.
The customer services, safe and the room was spacious. The vending machine was low or out of stock.
Lobby is good. The event we attended is at the same building so staying at this hotel location made sense Got a wrong room. I requested for double queen bed but was given single king. So a family of 4 is sharing a single bed. No effort is made to help the situation. I even tried to ask if there is something she can do. I got a big 'NO'. However, the couple after us the a double queen bed. The door going out into the veranda is broken so we have to turn on the heater.
The Irish pub in the restaurant was excellent. The staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean other than the issues cited in the other box. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The location is convenient and there was plenty of free parking. I booked for 3 adults and requested 2 doubles, however my email confirmation stated 1 king bed. I called the Marriott and was told there were no rooms left with double beds. I then called hotels.com and was told the room could be changed to 2 doubles, however upon arrival the reservation was still for 1 king. Thankfully the desk clerk noticed the size of our party and immediately changed the reservation 2 doubles without me having to ask her. Don't know why this was an issues when I originally called the Marriott (or why the change made through hotels.com did not change the actual reservation at the hotel). There was some black mold on the ceiling above the tub/shower and the room had a slightly musty smell, like a damp basement. Our room refrigerator was not working upon arrival and the hotel had to send up a maintenance person to get it to work. We discovered there was a big cultural conference (NJ/NY VSNA Indian conference) taking place during our stay. No issues with the cultural conference however with so many people mingling about in the lobby and hallways we felt like we were intruding on a private event and that was uncomfortable. We did not feel like we should walk around the hotel and stayed in our room. It would have been nice if I was told about the conference at the time of booking.
No breakfast available
The moment I walked into the hotel the front desk greeted me so welcomely! not only that, but as I was walking up to my room all the way till my check out date the workers were beyond friendly and always had a smile on their faces. I loved everything about this hotel, my only concern was that there was a little bit of crud on the bottom of the shower which ended up floating to the drain once I turned it on.
Everything was great There was no dislikes
Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room which was much nicer than what I usually find in this price range, and a good cup of coffee at the bistro in the morning.
Very impressed, felt luxurious not outdated! Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, loved it!
Front desk was very friendly at check in. We attended a wedding here and staff were less friendly after the event (less we had been drinking but not belligerent). Walls are thin. We were woken up at 9am by housekeeping knocking on other peoples doors. There appeared to be water damage in the ceiling and bathroom needed some maintenance.
We like the room, continental breakfast & convenience of train to the city. Train is a plus. Sr.'s can buy a SENIOR train ticket at the TRAIN STATION, otherwise buy train ticket at hotel & walk approx. 1/2 block to train. VERY nice older hotel. It is an older hotel but everything is very nice. We like the continental breakfast. Parking. Train to the city is great, can walk 1/2 block & get on the train to the city. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times.
Front desk not accommodating
I really appreciated the attentive service. Front-desk staff were incredibly nice.
Room was clean enough, bathroom worked, all the basics were there. I ran the fan all night and thus the room was quiet enough to sleep in. Its main business seems to be weddings and other big parties, so bar and restaurant VERY crowded and not available to guests who want to have a quiet drink. Door to hotel does not have automatic open button -- crucial not only to those with mobility issues, but anyone with a lot of luggage. How is that even legal in 2016? Breakfast included but there's not enough seating, so it gets loud and crowded. They use styrofoam cups for coffee. Again, I must remind the hotel, it's 2016. The decor is **very** outdated. Forest green carpet in the room, vertical strip wallpaper -- from the 80s or 90s. Was fooled by high reviews into thinking this was a nice place to stay when it in fact it is just adequate.
The hotel was perfectly located for us, near the train to head to Manhattan and near universities. We were on the back side and our window looked down upon the trash.
The rooms are comfortable and clearn and there is a really bar and restaurant connected to the hotel. It's in a subburb and has a completely different feel than the "big box" hotels. Love the nice breakfast spread they put ou the morning which is included in the room price. There's also a very nice pool and courtyard.
It is a great location, just a block away from the train station. Went here to get away from distractions and focus on work. Got a nice size room, all the amenities that I need and with room service, I never had to leave my room for anything. Perfect place to get quiet and work done. Not that it bothered me but the decor is a little outdated. But a desk still worked as a desk and furniture didn't break on me. If I was going to the hotel for an actual leisure trip, the tv might need to be upgraded.
Comfortable and relatively clean good value for money Ac didn't work it was a hot night
We were worried about it being a lower price hotel. We were pleasantly surprised! Thank you for having a clean nice place to stay that we could afford. It was one of the best stays on our trip!
Did not like anything about this hotel The room was dirty. Very bad condition. wall were brokern , you can see holes in the walls. overall very depressing
It was convenient to all major highways H.V.A.C. was moldy. Matressess were hard as rocks.
Customer service The room smell when u walk into the room it smells very bad odor. The bedding sheet has wine spot, hair underneath the pillow it just makes me so uncomfortable
The first night the room had no air condition in the morning they told me they would fix it but they never did instead they transferred me to a much smaller room without compensation and they were generally extremely rude I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN
The front desk woman was really nice and we received a 2 bedroom suite. Incredible The hotel was under renovation.
Always clean ans staff is always friendly and helpful Awesom breakfast!
I enjoyed the fully equipped modern-style suite, including kitchen with full size appliances, spacious living area and separate bedroom with comfortable king bed and clean roomy bathroom and shower. I was impressed! The noon check-out was great! The blankets were light weight and the room was chilly. I did use an extra blanket intended for the sofa-bed and did turn up the heat, which helped. The sofa was a little hard, which made it a bit uncomfortable.

Wonderful suite with full kitchen. Refrigerator with ice maker, stove/oven ect. Room was large with separate bedroom with two queen beds. Very nice and clean. Morning breakfast was wonderful. Safe area.

Room was extremely large with a king size bed and a separate room with couch that rolled out to a double bed along with a kitchen. Staff was extremely helpful too.
Modern updated decor. Friendly staff. Good choice of TV channels. Big TV. Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Free wifi. Free parking. Nothing.

The staff was great. Helpfull, attentative and very frindly Training of the resturant staff needs improveiments. The bartender reached into the reserve bottle of bar nuts with his bare hands and refilled a guests serving plate. A waiter at breakfast handled bagles to be toasted with his bare hands - in and out of the toaster. Most of the chairs in the bar were soiled and badly in need of cleaning. In the room the cover was falling of the HVAC unit and the window frame fell apart when I opened the window for fresh air
Luxury great size room. Easy parking. Quiet area. Very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a bit to the small size.
Scents and cleanliness. I am a new mother and was severely disappointed that after a long day of travel and late arrival, the refrigerator in my room was broken and resolved not by changing my room to one where it was operational so I could store breast milk- instead I was brought a warm one from storage.
Hotel had no record of booking.com booking. Checking took half an hour. In the end they honored the reservation but I need assurance this won't happen again if I use booking.com
I absolutely loved the Heavenly Bed!!!!
I stayed there as I was attending a wedding nearby. It was very convenient and the accomodations were top rate location is very good everything is nearby
Ive Stayed Here Multiple Times And The Experience Is Excellent each Time.
Location and stuff very friendly and nice No nothing was perfect
Ample parking. Friendly staff. Centrally located. Nice room layout. Clean room. Comfy bed. Free wifi and good choice of tv channels. Nothing

We got upgrade to a double bedroom and the suite was very big. Staff were very kind and helpful. Could have been cleaner and bathrooms are a little out dated.

The kitchen / living area was an enjoyable space. I felt at home. The shower was excellent. There were ample closets. The breakfast buffet was also very good. The sheets provided did not properly fit the bed and came off the mattress each night. We weren't provided a bath mat or kitchen towel until the last day were there. Soap was in short supply so I bought my own. Housekeeping was poor.
I like that it's a suite hotel because you have room to move around and that offers amenities like free breakfast. When I was told it was a king suite but wasn't told it was a conference suite. It was smaller than the other suites and it has a big table for conducting business.
Hotel room was beautiful. Still needing some finishing touches in the hotel.
The modern decor and cleanliness and the spacious of the room. I struggled a bit with the key system entering my room and could not get the key to work at all in a side door even though it was enabled. But that was a minor annoyance.
We arrived early and they were kind enough to let us check-in which was very helpful since we had came to the area for a race.
The room was HUGE, even with two beds in it. The usable desk/workspace pretty much ran the full length of the window wall, allowing me to spread out some presentations I was working on among the conference materials I had collected. Spacious bathroom...that then goes to the negative category. They do have a white noise machine in the room, which came in handy. I was able to check in an hour early, so that was nice after 14 hours of travel. Validated parking for the underground garage was a plus, too. There was a lot of disappointment. I was on the 11th floor, right near the elevator. While I didn't really hear too many people in the hallway (mostly cleaning staff), the late night ruckus from the street could be heard well into 3 or 4 AM (where the white noise machine comes in handy). Every emergency vehicle going by could be heard loud and clear. To put it mildly, the windows are not sound proof by any means. The bathroom is beyond dated. Old tub, clunky showerhead that sprays everywhere except on you, and shower curtains that leave a gap on one side or the other because they are not wide enough. LOUD flush on the toilet lets everyone on your floor know you just took a poo. My first night I realized that I was missing a mini-fridge, which the front desk though was odd (I think they thought I was lying). They put in a request, but I never saw anyone, so I had to make another request the next afternoon while I was attending a conference. It was there when I came back that evening. The lighting is a miss-match of fluorescent, LED, and halogen bulbs. Some dim properly, others are all or nothing, making it difficult to find a happy medium once the sun goes down. For the price, I might have expected a little more, especially with a Hyatt Regency name on the door in downtown Morristown. I think that a Hyatt House would have been cleaner and more elegant of a stay, which is sad. I would stay here again, but only if my conference is there.
Staff, parking validation Room key was glitchy- didn't always work on first try
Okay for the money Bar/restaurant was over priced and the WiFi was down. The doors do not close very well...
it is very nice hotel, the shuttle bus is on time, the room is very comfortabel, pepole are nice at this hotel. I will stay there in next time..
Nothing The hotel is nothing like the picture, it was very dirty and old. This is the worst experience I ever had. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL, its full of roaches !!
We loved the atmosphere in the bar, and having it open till late. Very handy after landing relatively late! Very friendly staff on the bar, on reception and the shuttle driver. Extremely comfortable and a convenience store next to reception which came in use! Amazing value for money, same standard as any high 4* hotel if not better! Loved the stay, thanks! :) We couldnt find the shuttle to the hotel when we landed very easily, so ended up paying for a taxi, however when leaving the hotel, we were pleased with the efficiency of the services.
The lounge was good to relax. Great greek salad. Best was the shuttle to the airport which allowed cheap public transportation to/from NYC There is nothing within walking distance (food/drinks/snacks)
Location next to Newark Airport with free shuttle. Good value. Hotel is shabby, carpet fraying, lots of dings and marks on the walls in hallways (though room itself was in better shape). Housekeeping must've been rushed, because underwear left by a previous guest was on the floor of our bathroom. Yuck.
When we arrived, it appeared that our reservation was unknown! Who is to blame, the Hotel or Booking.Com?
The price for the weekend was great but on Monday it double Not the best at all!!!
we thought the telephone call to the room upon our arrival asking if everything was ok with the room was excellent. only speciality teas supplied in the room. Gratuity in restaurant was forced upon us, not given the chance of discretion.
Hotel did not have record of reservation through active hotels website. Could not contact active hotel to find out why
Facilities were very nice -- clean and comfortable room. Staff at check-in desk also friendly and helpful. Shuttle service driver was very nice on arriving, however, shuttle driver in morning was late and a bit rude.
Location to airport The staff member checking us in excellent the 2 ladies in the morning extremely rude not interested in helping at all the old grey hair lady and a dark lady they could not have been more unhelpful
The bed!! So comfortable. Also I left my luggage on the shuttle, and they were very helpful in facilitating my getting it back. The plane was late, and the shuttle took much too long to pick up.
Airport Shuttle is very handy. Breakfast is great
Free shuttle service between EWR and hotel, both ways. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a room on the 6th floor, it had a vaulted ceiling which was lovely. Clean luxurious sheets, beds were comfortable with pillow options. Plenty of space. Large mini fridge in the room. Convenient, Way better than sleeping on the floor of EWR. Wifi did not work. Elevator incredibly slow. Air quality in my room was not great, was pretty stale and overpowered by air freshener. The windows were not openable to add fresh air. Food in the restaurant is subpar, with virtually no clean eating options. There are no other food options in the area, as the hotel is located amidst train tracks, gates, car parks and rental lots that seem to stretch to forever. $2 for a small bottle of Poland Springs bottled water in the vending machine.
the telephone out of order none come
The room was spacious! Great for a 2-girl mega shopping weekend. Lots of room for suitcases, shopping bags, and spacious closet. Free wi-fi. Shuttle bus service to train station and to nearby shopping mall. Breakfast was generous. The bar was good for drinks after a long day of shopping. The managers are truly in-charge which is good when you need to resolve matters and get things done. Shower curtain hangs on a curved rod which makes the curtain slide open, everything gets wet!
Very nice room and very friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport. Nice rate. Coffee and muffins were available at 4:30 am. Other guests were extremely loud- banging doors and yelling in the hall the entire night. It kept waking us up. Our wake up call rang at 3:40 instead of 4:40. We reserved a shuttle and one of the drivers never showed for work; so at 4:50 on the morning there were four families trying to get to the airport for our flights. The driver was very, very nice but one family was forced to stay behind.
This was my third time in the hotel and it simply ticks all the boxes for me. Close to Newark and a free shuttle bus from the airport and also to Newark Penn Station. Comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. The bar menu is quite limited but not a problem for me, they serve beer after all!
Clean, comfortable rooms, decent food and drinks, timely shuttle to the airport, great price. Better than a park and fly hands down! What more could you ask for!
Convenience I reserved king but I got two twin/double, I did not bother to change when I realized in my room
I liked the customer service! Carlos was our waiter one evening and he was so sweet and friendly. The shuttle drivers were also wonderful. Friendly, professional and very nice!! The breakfast was very good also. The only thing I didn't like was that my bed was not made one day by housekeeping and the did not replenish the coffee nor did they remove the melted ice from the ice bucket. I was very disappointed in that part of the service since, as a mom, I do look forward to going to a hotel to be a little spoiled. I didn't complain to the front desk since the rest of the hotel experience was wonderful!!! All in all I would go there again.
The rooms were excatly what was shown on the web site unlike some other hotels, it was comfortable, and breakfast was included in the very low rate. It has been my second time staying there n it will always be my first choice of stay when ever I visit. N/A
Staff were terrific, breakfast great, airport shuttle extremely helpful. We checked in very late. When we finally got into our room (the keys worked only every 8th time or so) we were bowled over by an intense chemical smell. We tried to find an air freshener but couldn't. Called the front desk, housekeeping came. Turns out they spray some kind of God awful disinfectant before guests arrive. This is dangerous. I asked for a different room, but there was none. We were given a fan, which helped a little, but there's no fresh air coming in from anywhere. I had a headache the entire time we were there. I've always loved Hampton Inn but this is unacceptable.
The shuttle from the airport was convenient. The staff friendly. The rooms clean and nice. I got in very late and tried to sleep a bit later the next morning, but noise started at 720am and continued. I could hear everything from the room above and on either side. Surprisingly noisy. The next night I slept fine but left by 430am.
Convenient to airport; shuttle service; friendly, helpful staff. Has a kind of run down, grimy look. Hall carpets were wrinkled and dirty looking, elevator was dirty, room looked like only essential areas like the bathroom were really cleaned. Limited food options - I ordered Chinese delivered and it was the worst Chinese food I'd ever had. The only other choice would have been pizza/pasta, neither of which I eat.
Crowded breKfast. Ran out of food
This was a overnight stop over to catch an early morning flight out of EWR. Got picked up by their courtesy van at EWR and the staff was helpful and polite. Courtesy van took us to EWR was timely. nothing
Always have enjoyed Hampton Inn's and this one was excellent, except Kayak didn't let me know ahead of time it was a smoking room. Kayak signed me up for a smoking room and I didn't know anything about it. Next time Kayak, show me that its going to be a smoking room and I will look elsewhere.
Bathrooms and included breakfast were great! Mattresses were squeaky and carpet needed cleaning
Everyone was incredibly nice! Best Hampton Inn staff I've ever seen. Depesha is AWESOME!!!!
Property dated....needs a facelift
Extremely helpful staff, from the shuttle drivers to the front desk to housekeeping. Very clean and comfortable.
Very friendly staff and shuttle staff
Location & Price are great! Good breakfast included with hotel stay. Had to switch rooms b/c of a grainy picture in tv and shower stopping up. Also, b/c of warmer temperatures during this winter season the hotel decids no to offer heat in the rooms...WTF? IT STILL WAS COLD AT NIGHT!
Good location for getting into NYC. The breakfast was pretty good. Employees were very friendly. Room was clean. Bathroom door did not close and some of the walls had paint/wallpaper peeling off. Vending machines were all either non-functioning, didn't take bills, or were not well-stocked. We ordered a cheese pizza when we got in for a quick bite to eat and it was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had, especially from a restaurant. A frozen pizza would have been better. Our neighbors rolled in around 2 AM and were loud and woke us and kept us up until about 5:30 - 6AM when we finally had to call the front desk to ask them to do something about it and even then it still took a while for them to quiet down.
- Good complimentary breakfast - Decent gym facilities - Convenient free shuttle to the train station and airport - WiFi fairly fast and reliable I was put on a floor that was renovating (maybe all floors were renovating). As a result, the entire floor looked really run down, it smelled like paint, and it was loud.
I asked for a "quiet" room and ended up next door to a group of women who were clapping, cheering, and in general having a good time. I don't mind people having fun but at 1:00 in the morning I really wanted to get some sleep.
Stayed for 4 nights for the 2016 Star Trek convention in NYC. No regrets. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient, free parking. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Newark Penn Station. Reasonably safe urban neighborhood. Easy access to NYC via PATH or NJ Transit. Price compared to NYC hotels. My room had a nice view. Was able to park the full day after I checked out. Elevators malfunctioned one morning (this was a huge annoyance). Area around hotel closes very early (no good restaurants, convenience stores, etc).
Downtown location, close to restaurants and activities. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff
The food and the shuttle service as well The first room smelled like cigarettes and was tiny. But the second was nice
We were very well , near restaurants, quiet place, very good breakfast and free parking........................................
The location is very close to train stations and the free parking is a very nice perk. If they run out of parking they will park it for you. The elevator is simply amazing. It sounds like such a little thing but it is really fast and they don't shut them down on off hours so you're never waiting for one. As other guests mentioned the A/C doesn't work very well. If you turn it all the way to cold (past the temp settings) it will get comfortable after about 30 minutes. The bed is very lumpy and extremely uncomfortable.
Every thing Parking
Rooms updated but small, adequate for my business needs. Onsite restaurant, excellent food and service but is pricey. Parking is free, good news, finding a parking spot can be difficult but attendant is helpful, may have to park 1/2 block away.
I had low expectations based on reviews, but rooms were clean and spacious and recently renovated. Wifi worked fine for me. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good value for the money. Maybe I just got lucky this time, but nonetheless I'd stay again. Fine for a night. The area is a bit dicey, but not so much so that it should prevent you from walking to the train station, etc.
Close to Newark Airport The hotel is located across the street from the projects and main desk had bullet proof glass in front of it! 3rd floor is rented to voucher families who sounded like a herd of elephants- YUCK!
The rooms and how clean it is. The people being up and loud all night
The room itself was large and clean enough. It certainly is no luxury hotel but we didn't expect it to be. It is in an extreeeeeemely rough area of town. We made the stupid mistake to stop for fast food late at night before we checked in. It was clear that there were only a few types out and about. People who were clearly high, people with at least 3 cell phones, lots of cops with lights & sirens running, and clueless suburbanites looking for food & hotel. After getting our food, we made it to the hotel and into the lobby where, I am not kidding, my husband is in law enforcement, there was a very obvious drug deal going down. It is a very small lobby and my 3 young children were running all around the place as these two guys are exchanging baggies and cash, right out in the open. We finally got to the elevator where were got STUCK. Seven of us (with luggage) piled in. We could barely fit (should've been a clue but after this incident, I checked all elevators, and I have not since seen any elevator, no matter how small, with such a low weight limit). The door closed, it wouldn't move up or down, we had to set off the alarm, we were stuck for a minute or so, and my husband got the door open. That was when we noticed the 600 lb weight limit. WTH? So some chose to take the stairs and the rest took their chances in small batches with the elevator. Once we got to the room, we were extremely pleasantly surprised. By that point, we were expecting the very worst. This is not the worst. It is solidly within the "good enough" range, providing you do not stop between the airport & the hotel and you keep your eyes open and use common sense.
Room was clean The area is pretty rough and there is nothing around. It is worth of paying extra $20 to stay somewhere else! May be it is fair price for this area but way higher then Milwaukee(for the same quality hotel)
the heart shaped jacuzzi was nice, other than that, I couldn't wait to leave. There was no restaurant there and it was right across the street from the projects so I had to venture out into the hood to get something to eat, more like close to run.
Nothing Everything. airport shuttle late. Driver rude. Service desk rude. Place smells bad. Extreely bad neighborhood.
N/A it all started wrong. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes for the driver to pick a group of people and me at the airport and the hotel it is not that far from the airport. When I got to the room it smelled horrible and they tried to camouflage the smell with one of those autos sprayer set up to 15 to 20 min mixing the bad smell with that horrible scent. Bathroom smelled like dirty rag. I talked to the person in charge to switch room and he told me that there was nothing available. The bed was not comfortable at all, I was literally sinking in it. This hotel is located Ina bad neighborhood that you can't walk outside after 6 pm. Breakfast is supposed to be ready at 6 am, and they where ready at 6:25 am. This hotel definetlly does not worth the price that I pay for.
Close to airport. Across the street from projects with a horrible view. This hotel isn't the best hotel but I guess you get for what you pay for.
Nothing. Sold as EWR airport hotel but far away in a very undesirable area. While i was checking in, other guests gave the impression of paying on a per hour basis. The carpeting was filthy, the ceiling magnified sounds of steps from floor above.
The airport shuttle and staff It was an awful stay. The neighborhood is sketch and very active all times of the day which you couldn't tell from the picture of the hotel on website. There was what looked to be dry blood in our room. Yes the rooms were cheap but I would have paid more to not be around that. None of the machines were working to by a drink or food and the breakfast was good other then people from the neighborhood who weren't staying there were getting the breakfast too. Overall I would never stay again
Cheapest hotel. Very sketchy neighborhood. Not safe at all, to the point where the checkin desk has a bullet proof glass. If you're on a really tight budget it's fine, but if you can spare an extra $20-40 do it!
Just the location was near the hood but there is an airport shuttle so you are able to get around .
Access to everything Fixures in the room needed maintenance
The staff is extremely helpfull and friendly, special in the restraurant. Parking was free!
Room was clean and spacious. Comfortable. Original parking lot wasn't working and had to park in the guest parking, which was completely packed. Only good thing was that instead of paying $20 for parking, I only paid $15 plus fees. Ridiculous that we have to pay for parking, even with a room. Pantry area was almost empty with no variety,
Clean Not enough mirrors you couldn't chill wroth your friends because the walls are paper thin
The hotel staff & dining can't think of anything
Great location for use of Newark airport. Great staff! Nothing
I needed a hotel close to Newark airport, this hotel is clean and Comfort. the transportation from the hotel to the airport is easy by car or you can take a taxi. the hotel is not good for holiday or fun, it is just for stay the night close to airport.
Not too many shops
good overnight with early morning flight departure. Enjoyed lobby bar with good accompanying menu -- not a bad place to hang out and unwind. Staff was friendly and accomodating, keeping their cool during a substantive number o all-at-once check-ins. Shuttle from airport terminal departs from the extreme end of the airport, which depending on your arrival
For of all this app said that the Hilton had a spa and that was a lie !!! Also the indoor pool was dirty! The customer service was shitty. & to top it off we had to pay for parking which was $20.
Friendly staff Bath room old fashioned, Car Parking very expensive
the size of the room, the fact that there was a fridge and a microwave in our room they advertised a shuttle to the airport, but it didn't run on weekends, and it cost $10 pp, The area around the hotel is not that great.
Nothing The service was poor, it was a very unclean facility, and the would not recommend this is place to anyone.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, large clean room, enclosed safe parking Slight lack of noise insulation from overhead room and outside traffic.
non smoking room, did have a bad smell of old smoking room.
The hotel is close to the airport with a frequent shuttle service between the hotel and the airport. It is basic and not the most luxurious or fancy hotel, but we didn't want to pay the price for that kind of hotel. This one was clean, the rates were reasonable and it is far enough away from the runway that it wasn't noise but close enough to make it a short transfer. It may not be where I would choose to stay for a holiday but if I wanted somewhere convenient to stay before or after a flight, then I would definitely use it again.
I liked being picked up from airport by courtesy car. I liked the selection of movies. I thought the hotel was very good value for money. The front of house receptionist stayed on a personal call all the time she was checking me making it hard to ask her questions and i found it a bit unprofessional. She was very helpful however later when my remote control did not work she got me a new one and was able to answer all my queries well.
its just fine.the staff is not very helpful. the room is old and not very clean. But its fine for that price.
Airport shuttle came late and the staff refused to help us with the timing of the shuttle.
Front desk staff and hotel shuttle driver were fantastic. Room service was prompt and thorough.
location and the fact it had onsite Restaurant
The very unhelpful staff. Expensive prices at the restaurant and the parking.
Love how close to New York and how easy was to get on and off the highway. The water pressure was low.
The shuttle back and forth to the airport No swimming pool
We really liked how close the hotel was to the airport. The shuttle between the airport and the hotel was about 5 minutes. If you're not used to road noise you may have difficulty sleeping
I thought the location was excellent. I really appreciated the free shuttle from the airport. The room was just fine and we ordered pizza. It tasted great. It was as good a rest as a person could have on a layover.
Basic accommodation for the budget traveler. Stay only if you missed your flight out of Newark or have a connection. Had specifically requested a non-smoking room. They had only smoking rooms available. The smell was so bad that my wife and I had to keep the windows open (in December !) to breathe some fresh air. As a small mercy the housekeeping gave us some room freshener to spray. The on-site restaurant is too pricey. The breakfast at the restaurant ($11) was not at all good. The front-desk did not mention that the restaurant would be closing early. When we reached the front desk, they just gave us a Chinese take-out menu. This worked out better because the Chinese food was much cheaper and tastier (I'd recommend that). The good part is that the hotel had an airport shuttle. If you don't have a car, that's a cheap way to get to the city and other places.
The location is the greatest thing about it, as it is next door to the PATH train that takes one to Manhattan in 30 minutes.n I really can't think of anything I did not like.
right across the street to newark pennstation(trainstation)20 min from NYC penn station, very helpful and nice employees, free access to business center with free & fast internet, small but nice fitness room, very noisy, expensive inhouse restaurant, not much facilities around and newark is definately not a beautiful city, starbucks is closed on weekends, rooms not cleaned at 100%
convenience to both airport and new york shuttle bus only running hourly to airport - surprised as budget hotels we have used run half hourly shuttles
It has a very convenient location near the train station that made our trip in and out of New York easy. There was some difficulty in confirming a taxi booking to go to an event.
Concierge Service on the 9th floor was super! Expensive restaurant in hotel with very poor service.
The staff were very helpful, they were particularly friendly in the Market Grill where we had breakfast on 2 mornings. Beautiful room, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Usually we stay in Manhattan when we visit New York but this hotel offered a great alternative. It was very cost effective as it was $10 return from the station to Penn Station New York [34th Street near Macys] Our room was not ready when we arrived and even when we came back at 11pm, we then had to wait on the bell hop to bring it up. Think this should have been done. The Starbucks attached to the Lobby only opened Monday to Friday and even then closed at 7 pm. The walkway from the train station to the hotel was closed each evening when we returned from the city meaning that we had to go outside of the station and cross the road to access the hotel lobby. During this we were stopped several times by people asking for money.
Arrived late and called the hotel about the shuttle from Newark airport, was told it was on its way. 1 hour later was told it was stuck in traffic, so caught a cab and was there in 10 minutes, didn't see much traffic anywhere.
