Pros: What a delightful spot! We wanted to be in downtown Winona to be near the water and the MInnesota Marine Art Museum (spectacular!). Richard and David and Ruth made our stay so delightful, it was really the best part of our visit to Winona. The food at breakfast was incredible and the company a treat. Our room was so pretty and comfortable, I can't say enough good things about this lovely mansion in the picturesque and thriving town of Winona WI. Go!
Cons: There wasn't ANYTHING we'd change. Seriously!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Richard's personal welcome upon arrival, his incredible hospitality, and sharing of his history of the mansion and the area on activities to do, based on your interests. The 5 course breakfast was incredible ; it provided a personal experience and getting to know the others staying there, too. He offered upon arrival a glass of wine; and at night chocolates and Irish creme..... the mansion is like taking a step back into history. I will definitely go back!
Cons: Everything was incredible!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous mansion with wine in the library around cocktail hour. Meeting the other guests and socializing is encouraged and we met such interesting folks! Richard was an outstanding host. We will DEFINITELY return here and bring friends. Also, the breakfast was a gourmet affair.
Cons: Not one thing. Loved the place and will return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alexander Mansion BnB is a gem that does everything right. Every detail is considered and taken care of. Richard is a superb owner and host and his prior hotel experience is evident. This place has perfect marks on every review site for very good reason.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like about our stay is that it was too short. I wish we had more time.

Pros: The two bedrooms with connecting bath were perfect for three people. Everyone on the staff was helpful and super friendly and accomodating. Pros: Desk clerk was excellent, she was very busy as she was alone and still found time to come to our room twice to get tv remote to work, finally having to bring a different remote to use.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, comfy bed, nice staff
Cons: Our carpet in our room was stained and there were small stains in the white bedding, some hair left on the bed/sheets that wasn’t mine when we checked in. Also, the pool was under construction and wasn’t open :(
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Low-volume flush toilets are a plus. Breakfast staff person was very welcoming. I liked lighted cosmetic mirror in bathroom. Frig & microwave in room were a plus. Great location. Breakfast quality was average. Lots of Winona area tourist literature!
Cons: Cigarette butts by front entry door did not create a favorable impression. I was surprised and appalled to find a second TV in the room's bathroom--this is totally unnecessary! Also, the hotel did not offer recycling for can, bottles, or paper.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location clean
Cons: Pool should of been done with renovation before summer
7.5 Good
Cons: Had to wait half hour for our room to be ready. The door card did not work, we were on 3rd floor. The pool was under construction, didn't know until we got there. The guests above us were very loud. The couch and chair very uncomfortable, tv's were outdated, bad pic and sound.
7.0 Good
Cons: The pool area is closed and under construction - however, it is listed as having a pool. Not super when kids are involved. They did offer use of a neighboring hotel pool, but it was across a parking lot and torrential rain. They shouldn't advertise a pool

4.2 Okay
Cons: One of the first things I did was touch the small TV in the bathroom when I fell off its mount, bounced off the counter, and then onto me. Luckily, my foot broke the fall and the TV was all right. I called the front desk and a pleasant young woman said she would call her manager and the facility person, who was also very nice and professional. I circled back with the front desk and the clerk said her manager would credit me an insulting $40 dollars. I asked to call her manager, who was not working that day, and spoke with an awful, condescending, defensive general manager. Instead of comping my room, apologizing, and thanking me for my business, (and tortlessness), she threatened to have me thrown out for pressing the issue.

6.5 Good
Pros: Front desk guy was very nice and sympathetic.
Cons: I paid and was sent an email as confirmation. I arrived around 2:00 am. Was asked for a card for security deposit. I had $10 in my bank and they needed $150 (on top of the money I already paid for the room) had to be awake early for my 18 years olds college registration. I was told I couldn’t stay unless I had a card. I don’t believe in credit cards so obviously didn’t have one. Yet I used the last of my money to pay for a room that now I wasn’t able to stay in. Don’t worry....called MY MOM at 2:00 am to wire me money so I could sleep. Then....down the hall...drunk people slamming doors all night (every couple of minutes). I picked up the phone to call the desk. Phone didn’t work! Yes it was plugged in. I took a sleeping pill pill and waited for it to work. So first college visit with my first kid was not so good and drive home was terrible because of how tired I was.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: dog friendly. clean rooms.
Cons: no
7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was fine.
Cons: the toilet seat was very loose, I tightened the 2 plastic screws to secure it. I found a pastacio nut on the floor behind the bathroom door. Also the showerhead was too restricting. needs to be replaced, I told the desk employee.
7.1 Good
Pros: Right on hwy 61 so good stop for folks on motorcycles which were revving up to ride at 6am right outside my window...but was clean with good coffee and hot eggs for free breakfast. Not luxurious but good for someone on a budget.
Cons: carpet kinda old
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff
Cons: The cleanliness and things not working in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good!
Cons: No elevators
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast and location were fine
Cons: Ac unit and fridg. Were quite noisy as well as hearing foot traffic from room above. Also the toilet would not shut off about half the time without the handle jiggle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: More than I expected as I stay at this location all the time when I visit relatives. Very knowledgeable about the place, surrounding's and short distance to where I need to see people.
Cons: Nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location.
Cons: The room temp was set at 60 degrees to mask the mold. There were no towels in the room. The bed covers beds (mattresses) and decor have not changed in over 10 years.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: That I didn't hear any noise
Cons: I didn't like people sitting around front door smoking at the tables. Dirty butt can or cigarette butt all over the parking a lot. Some of the people sitting at the table looked like homeless people.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff was very nice. Breakfast (minus coffee) was good.
Cons: Rooms were very damp and smelt like a basement.
5.4 Okay
Pros: That it was close to a Kwik Trip gas station
Cons: The breakfast was the same all three days. Bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffle. It would have been nice to have sausage patties , The cleaning staff did not make both beds, they never left any more shampoo or soap, hallways were not clean and had a order to them
