The staff was relatively accommodating, especially the restaurant staff. The location was beautiful. The rooms were mediocre. There is no room service. Place looks like it was decorated in the '70s. Kim, the wedding coordinator, was less than helpful on the day of the event. I was not the celebrant, so I can't speak for how she was before the event. And she should have been present at rehearsal. Seriously, $100/hr for a fire pit?
Being right off Lake Michigan was amazing! And the indoor pool was nice. Early check in was not available. Upon checking in we received a room key that didn't work. Room and building exterior was old and dingy. Live and dead bugs EVERYWHERE. Restaurant was small and we were rushed to accommodate waiting guests. One very old and slow elevator for whole building. Pool, game room and fitness center closed at 8pm on the Fourth of July. Front desk staff was not polite and I can only assume not properly trained, because at midnight another couple was assigned our room and given a key, upon which they entered to find us alread occupying the room. The front desk then called on our room phone and told me that WE were in the wrong room! The front desk person was then upset that I didn't want to move my sleeping family and all of our stuff at 1 AM to allow this new couple to have our room, which I assume would not be cleaned between us moving out and them moving in. We stayed to find out when we returned to our room from breakfast that our key no longer worked, because it was reset when the other guests were assigned our room.
