The customers were "sorted" but I finished up on a very long line with only one person serving; after 30 minutes, that person just wandered off, presumably for a break. We, on the queue waited for 15 minutes for a new person to return. When it was my turn to check in the process took no more tan 30 seconds whilst for others it had taken 10 minutes and more. Dreadful experience. The choice of entertaining films was limited on my flight; normally AC has a wide choice."

Any alcohol being served out of meal time either should be charged or put a limit of two max."

Cons: "My traveling partner - Giovanni Medina - was given ill properly prepared food. He ended up getting food poisoning. We had a connecting flight in Montreal to Orlando (our final destination and home), he was suffering during the 2 hour lay over with an ill stomach and then had to suffer 3 more hours on a flight home. He was stopped from being able to go to the bathroom before takeoff because they needed him seated, but he immediately started vomiting right before we took off. He then spent the rest of the ride sick, they allowed him to move to the back in order to use the bathroom rather than the vomit bags, but he was not comfortable at all. He spent the rest of the night after landing in the bathroom continuing to vomit. We chose this airline because of the rave reviews of the food, entertainment, and hospitality of the crew. The latter two were certainly true. We definitely wanted to make sure that you knew of situation because this was a seriously uncomfortable situation for him and we would not want this to happen to anyone else. He had the chicken meal and the meat pastry on the flight."

The crew said that we should request a form from the USA if we were Americans, so I did. I have filled out that form many times, so I felt fine--until I got into the Customs area of the airport and learned that I needed to fill out a Canadian form too. So I had to do that before picking up my luggage. You would think that an Air Canada crew would know which forms I had to fill out and give them to me or at least ask questions so that I could be prepared when I went into the incredibly complicated maze to go through customs."

I was first class but my friend was economy and luckily had her own iPad or would not have been able to use anything , that being said the movies for her were still not free . The food was good as well and their regular planes from Europe are very large and beautiful"

I had a flight to Athens that was in final boarding my friend still has not arrived the first person I asked said she didn't have time to look if she was still on the flight , the second told me it was private info and finally a 3rd let me know she had been rerouted and would arrive 8 hours after me in Athens and that her bag though made my flight . She did last minute make it via running to our plane but in that time they had given her seat away, she had to prove that she paid did and deserved a flight . The way home from Athens all of my aid Canada flights were delayed and late . I had a 3.5 hour layover in Seattle to switch carriers to make it home , my flight out of Vancouver was 2.5 hours delayed that they continually said was only another 10 minutes , versus being upfront that it was severely delayed . Long story worst experience I've had ."

Air Canada knew the flight to Montreal was delayed when we left London. They changed our reservation to Toronto to a flight that we still couldn't connect with because of timing. It would have been easier if they were more realistic with the timing of the flight and booked us on a later flight to Toronto."

Bags checked all the way through and no complications on any of our 4 international flights, that's good service!"

They offered a meal that they cooked in-house, but the wait to receive one was absurdly long and seemed rather dicey. This was confusing as they had provided me with a food coupon in Bangkok for the initial delay, so their customer service policy is rather confusing and comes down to how they feel in the moment. They really should have been more accommodating."

Cons: "Rude staff in spite of paying almost close to Cathay Pacific, journey date was forcefully changed just days before traveling with a layover time of 16hours instead of the original plan of 3 hours so was forced to stay overnight at a shitty hotel provided by China Eastern, Check in baggage not handled at Kunming by staff, airport hotel not inside airport, but 20mins away in some dirty part of Kunming, not even in the city. Taxi from airport to and from hotel had no space for checkin baggage and they had to be kept on our laps. No food provided at hotel. Very discomforting experience overall."

Pros: "since i was wearing a boot on my foot for a toe injury.i had wheelchair service which was excellent. food was OK the hot rolls were wonderful Was able to get a blocked middle seat which really helped to stretch out my injured toe especially for that long of a flight."

Cons: "Every flight was significantly delayed (we had two flights to the destination and two flights back home, all via China Eastern.) One was so delayed we barely made our connection, and our luggage didn't make the connection at all. So, we spent nearly 2 days on vacation without our belongings. The return flight was so delayed that we did miss our connection, and had to spend the night in Shanghai. China Eastern's staff in Shanghai handled it VERY poorly. They were rude, refused to give us instruction, and we spent hours in the airport trying to figure out which bus to take and where we were actually going. Their exact words to one distraught couple seeking help were "That's not our problem." Service in general was average to poor. Food was average. There are no adult drinks available even for purchase, and they would have been nice to enjoy given the other stresses they caused on our vacation. Our seats were often damaged in one way or another. I was attracted to this airline for the reasonable rates, but do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a more tolerable experience."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable, with wide selection of entertainment. The cabin crew was very pleasant, and they feed you pretty well."
Cons: "Check in on London was a mess. In flight,They don't allow you to use phones in airplane mode, even just to read or listen to, and You can't easily use your own headphones for the in flight entertainment,and the quality of the earbuds supplied is so low. But the worst part were the delays in Shanghai, and lack of information from the airline about what to do. A 3 hour delay from London meant we missed our connection and had to stay overnight. Poor communication from the airline or airport employees resulted in a confusing and stressful 12 hours... A simple handout explaining how the free hotel thing worked would be very helpful. (The hotel they put us up at was actually pretty nice!) Despite the generally pleasant flight experience, we will be avoiding China Eastern and transiting in Shanghai in the future."
Pros: "The staff was really helpful and the plane itself was completely comfortable, with lie flat seating in business class. Great menu and entertainment too. And at a much lower price than the american carriers."

Cons: "Flight was scheduled to depart at 4:20pm. After multiple gate changes with very poor customer service/communication from the airport staff, the flight didn't actually depart until 6:30pm. I understand delays are a natural part of the travel industry, however a simple explanation or reassurance regarding the details of the delay are greatly appreciated but were lost on the East Chinese crew. Food was terrible. Seat was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever been on. Absolutely no in flight entertainment on a 10 hour flight. Awful experience and I'm glad it's over."
Cons: "First plane running late so borderline for next flight. Told by one security guy at bag scan area to go to gate two but security guy there refused to let me enter. Gate two is for those whose planes are departing real soon. Told the security I was told to go to this gate. He wouldn't listen, wouldn't talk and tried to act the cool tough guy. Food was terrible on all legs of my trip and often they ran out of liquids that customers wanted ( first drinks run). Second time to use them. First time was even worse. Definitely last time."
Cons: "I had a bad experience to fly with China Eastern Airline. My flight on 04th Aug 2016 from Singapore to Shanghai was delayed for 03 hours. The flight number was MU544. Supposed to fly at 00.55am, but the flight was delayed until 3.30 am. Plus, I had to pay $60 for changing my name as the staff at Singapore Airport Said that my name didn't put in sequence. My name in the passport: Mai Thi Hien. But on the system was: Mai, Hien Thi. They said I had no choice if I didn't pay I can't take the flight. So, I had no choice to pay S$60 for changing the name in order to board the flight to Seoul. I have been with other flight before, but that kind of things never happened to me before. My husband had helped to book a flight before, instead of putting my real name, he put my English Name but nothing happened at that time. The staff of that airline was a good assistance they helped me to change the name without charges. Then, when I arrived the Shanghai airport. I had to wait to change the flight & went through immigration to checkout & waited to get the luggage & then check on the immigration again. All the procedure made me feel so frustrated. On 10th Aug 2016, I returned back to Singapore, then the flight was delayed again about 1hours & half. Luckily, they changed us to another airline: Asiana, which was a direct flight to Singapore. I was really disappointed about the China Eastern Service"

When we arrived in Beijing for our connection to Bangkok, we had to search out people for help, there was absolutely no one forthcoming with explanations. We were travelling as 2 friends, I was booked on one flight and my travelling companion on another 15 hours later! This only got changed when we explained that we both only had hand luggage! To then board the flight and sit on the tarmac, engines running, simply waiting, no explanations again!! Will we ever fly China Airways again?? If we could exchange our return flight tickets to that of another Star Alliance member we would."

The air hostess tried to help but mentioned that it’s just slow. During dinner service I asked for a second glass of wine with my meal but was refused as only 1 glass of beer or wine is allowed per passenger and flight, which I found very stingy as an airline and irritating from a customer care perspective."

It was absolutely not in my spam because it was never sent!"
Pros: "Crew very nice. Take off on time both times. I liked the movies and games, kept me entertained for 13 hours. The Air China plains, used for domestic flights, don't have any entertainment, even during 3 hours flights. This I didn't like in China."
Cons: "The seats in both international flights were not confortable. The audio port on plane from China didn't work well I had to keep holding it at all times to be able to hear on both ears."

Cons: "I flew Alaska Airlines to San Jose and San Jose to Shanghai on air China. I was told by Alaska my baggage would be carried all the way through to Pudong airport. My baggage claim ticked showed that. When I got to PVG Pudong airport in Shanghai my baggage was not there they were not very helpful and difficult to understand. They told me they thought my baggage would come ther on another flight and gave me a form. By the next evening I had not heard from them. I emailed them again and I'm currently in Japan waiting to see if they will send me my luggage. Do not expect the kind of customer service in China as you would in the US or Japan.Shanghai airport is, at best, difficult to navigate...stay away from all the taxi solicitors."

Cons: "we had a delay from Seoul to Beijing of over 5 hours causing us to miss our connecting flight to LAX our home destination. When we got to Beijing it was after 1:30 in the morning and we were given very poor directions to get on to our connecting flight which was not guaranteed until 9 pm that evening (19 hours later). Thankfully we were able to get on the stand by flight at noon but due to the rush of getting our standby tickets barely an hour before the flight we ended up losing our costly contact lenses at security checkpoint and when my wife called China Air representative to mail the lost items back to LAX when we could pick them up we got no help but have to find some courier service and we are still having trouble getting our items back."

But he went away and never came back, no any response of YES or NO. 2.I don't know why the airline company still need 11 hours to rebook the tickets with all our flight information and our passport liscen numbers already , making us waiting till 3 am at the airport. 3. I asked my boyfriend to talk to the staff on phone, and the staff told my BF that he didn't know my English was not good. I said to him loudly that I had told him , but the manager besides said "don't shout at my staff"to me, even without asking me what happened . Pros: "Overall the service of the flight crew was good, seats were comparable to other economy class flights on other airlines. Boarding was easy, and meals were good and served at appropriate times."
Cons: "Our connecting flight between Beijing and another city in China was cancelled, there was no Air China staff at our airport in the US to handle the rescheduling (the check-in counter staff actually worked for another airline) and so we could only try to reschedule when we got to Beijing airport. There was a staff member at the gate to give us directions to the general check-in area, but then once we got to the area there were no signs directing us where to go. We were waiting in line for half an hour before I learned that we were supposed to be in a different line to first reschedule our flights (a 40minute wait), then wait in the line we were originally in to check-in (yet another 40minutes in line). This on top of waiting more than 1 hour in the customs line. Staff at the airport counters in China were brusque, and they seemed understaffed as the lines were often very long. On the flight, the touch screen entertainment system as buggy and would sometimes freeze, although the selection of entertainment was decent."
