I reserved the wheel chair service but when I checked in at the counter with the wheel chair symbol, I was told they changed the counter to the other one which is far away and they also rejected to help me check in there. I had to move to the one with a long queue to handle those standby customers. This is my worst experience ever. The service of China Southern airline is becoming worse and worse. Never recommend again.

By chance, I ran into a China Southern customer service representative and another group facing the same difficulty as me (needing a temporary visa). The China Southern representative dealt with the immigration services to expedite our temporary visa applications in China.

When going to the gate in Denpasar that was supposed to be where we boarded, our flight was not listed. (Although it was listed on the reader board as that gate). When approaching a China Southern representative, he kind of chuckled and said I don't know, maybe this gate #. There was no announcement of gate change. It was only realized by one person telling a group and it being passed along by others who were on the flight and waiting in the waiting area. I truly do not know how that one person figured it out. It was an older plane and there was no entertainment on board. Flight was delayed. When arriving at Guangzhou, there was not any guidance on needing to receive a temporary visa since the connecting flight to San Francisco went through Wuhan. When purchasing the ticket, it was unclear that this was needed since there was going to be a connecting flight through Wuhan and it was unclear that the connecting flight went through Wuhan. The ticket made it look as if we would be flying straight from Guangzhou to San Francisco. When asking one China Southern representative about where to go for temporary Visa, she "guided" me to the China representative handling the situation. Her "guidance" was done by grabbing my wrist and yanking me to her. I believe this is cultural, but being an international airline, I would think they would be observant of other cultures. Mobile devices that can be used as a cell phone are not allowed to be on or used while on board the flight. This includes mobile phones in flight mode (China Southern explained to me that this is Chinese law), so you are forced to use their entertainment system and not be able to listen to your own music.

Everything was on time, with no hitches or major inconveniences.

I prefer the newer planes which include USB ports for charging mobile devices. This one had a power socket instead, which was usable, but only when the tray table was down, which was mildly annoying. First world problem, really.

Delayed flight from Shanghai due to air traffic issues, so I had a 10 minute window to make my connection in Singapore. Ground staff was waiting for me with a small car after I disembarked to drive me to the gate. And I somehow made my connection. Excellent service. Obviously my checked bag didn't make it, but I was told in advance and was kept updated before boarding and immediate after I disembarked at my final destination. When I went to the baggage service counter, they were already ready for me, had filled out my paperwork, and just needed an address to confirm the delivery of my suitcase. I'm super impressed to this attention to detail.

The seats in economy are now Way TOO SMALL! You better start calling Economy - "Stearage"! Food was not as good as on past flights with SA. Movie selection not as good as past SA flights. Earphones supplied are horrible!!!

The flight on an A350 wide body was uneventful. I was in the "Premium Economy" section, which is sold as regular "Economy" for domestic flights. Excellent seating 2+4+2. The food was OK, not much to write home about, but they skipped coffee and tea because of turbulence (hardly perceptible).

Boarding process in HAN was very confusing: there was a change of gate announcement just when boarding was to start. Everybody went like crazy through the airport terminal looking for a Gate that does not exist. Followed by a counter-announcement. And then being bussed to the aircraft. People came on board up to the last minute... Arrival in SGN crazy for a different reason. All 300-some passengers were bussed again. Just that the ladders were not ready, and then whoever drove could not adjust them, and then the busses were not ready either. 25 minutes from landing to the luggage belts. Vietnamese airports need to work on their their procedures.

Crew was very nice.

There are no air vents on these planes! 4 of the 4 international flights of 10+ hours each did not have individual air vents. The heat was unbearable. We were sweating the entire time. There are individual computers in each row taking up some of the seat B (middle seat) legroom. These blow hot air and heat up the plane even more. I have never been on a flight where there weren't vents and it is the #1 reason why I won't be flying British Airways again. The TV screens are also outdated. The selection is alright but the screens are blurry and have a grid burned in on them.

the food was ok as I like spicy. But one mouthful of water and a small wine. soft drink, etc was not enough on a 4 hour flight. Leg room was very bad. I am average hight 5 ft 10 inch but could only sit sideways aas not enough room

Their app is useless. Not user friendly and always down ! Their staff can't even give proper directions on what need to be done in terms of getting upgrades ! Such a shame how it this airlines is getting from bad to worst. They use to be great and my number one choice , but now they are just a disappointment. China Southern representatives were a little more helpful and organized about directing passengers from flight coming into Wuhan to flight going out to San Francisco in the right direction and through departing immigration. It went smoothly and felt as if they were better prepared to continue "us" on our journey to San Francisco. We even got green stickers with "SFO" showing we were part of the group and a new boarding pass with the right gate number. When asking for a glass of wine, they poured what they had and came back with more. It was a newer plane with entertainment systems. Headphones were provided, if needed.

i liked that the entertainment system had a lot to offer, lots of movies and options. I liked the staff, they were very cooperative and friendly.

the flight was delayed 45 minutes, passengers were waiting in a non-air-conditioned aircraft. The AC was working after takeoff. The airplane chairs were small and no leg room, on a 7 hour flight to Barcelona that was exhausting! Couldn't manage to get some sleep at all. Overall, at least I arrived to my destination safe and sound. Thank you!

The boarding in SVO was a zoo. The location of a gate, with a huge pole in the middle; the way boarding was announced and handled, it was pretty much every man for themselves. Agents at the gate were rude. On the plane, it was hot most of the time on the plane. We had to actually ask to turn up the air.

The China Southern business class lounge is excellent. It has plenty of seats with good space. It serves excellent breakfast. Services of the business class servant are outstanding.

The new Terminal 3 in Chongqing airport has a lot of space. But walking from the airplane deplane location to the luggage site is more than 700 meters. It is too far to walk in particular for people who can not walk well.

the seats are too small for an overnight trip. I would have preferred to be charged more and have more comfortable seating for such a flight. All else was satisfactory.

Friendly staff, good enough seats. Cabin temperature was fine. Easy boarding and exiting.

Bus gate when we arrived in HK. Was delayed but not their fault (typhoon in HK). Everything else was fine.

The flight on an A350 wide body was uneventful. I was in the "Premium Economy" section, which is sold as regular "Economy" for domestic flights. Excellent seating 2+4+2. The food was OK, not much to write home about, but they skipped coffee and tea because of turbulence (hardly perceptible).

Boarding process in HAN was very confusing: there was a change of gate announcement just when boarding was to start. Everybody went like crazy through the airport terminal looking for a Gate that does not exist. Followed by a counter-announcement. And then being bussed to the aircraft. People came on board up to the last minute... Arrival in SGN crazy for a different reason. All 300-some passengers were bussed again. Just that the ladders were not ready, and then whoever drove could not adjust them, and then the busses were not ready either. 25 minutes from landing to the luggage belts. Vietnamese airports need to work on their their procedures.

Extra leg room in the emergency row. Plane was not packed with people so easy on and off. This was a flight from HCMC to Hong Kong And we were then going to get our bags in HKG and recheck them to SFO. BUT since Vietnam air and Cathay are connected we were able to check our bags all the way to SFO!!'

The boarding was pailful, we were toured by bus around the airport, and then has to go to a isolated island and going two floor narrow stairs by carrying luggage

I reserved the wheel chair service but when I checked in at the counter with the wheel chair symbol, I was told they changed the counter to the other one which is far away and they also rejected to help me check in there. I had to move to the one with a long queue to handle those standby customers. This is my worst experience ever. The service of China Southern airline is becoming worse and worse. Never recommend again.

They got me home to the States. China Southern representatives were a little more helpful and organized about directing passengers from flight coming into Wuhan to flight going out to San Francisco in the right direction and through departing immigration. It went smoothly and felt as if they were better prepared to continue "us" on our journey to San Francisco. We even got green stickers with "SFO" showing we were part of the group and a new boarding pass with the right gate number. When asking for a glass of wine, they poured what they had and came back with more. It was a newer plane with entertainment systems. Headphones were provided, if needed.

Flight was delayed from Wuhan to San Francisco. The reason given, while sitting on the plane (after boarding), air traffic. When looking out the window, the airport taxis and runways looked desolate. If my flight from San Francisco to home (Seattle) hadn't be delayed, I possibly would have missed my last flight home. Mobile devices that can be used as a cell phone are not allowed to be on or used while on board the flight. This includes mobile phones in flight mode (China Southern explained to me that this is Chinese law), so you are forced to use their entertainment system and not be able to listen to your own music.

Entertainment is always highlight

Crew services- trying to put my backpack up the space on the rack. But the crew says it is better to put my backpack under the chair. He explain it is more convenient to me. What's the reason he think it is more concienent to me. I dont understand his thought. I feel disappointed with the services. The crew are no professional. Please provide more training to these people

The service, the plane, friendly staff all throughout

The particular flight we took lands in LAX at 1420 hrs,, height of arrivals. Immigration took us an 2 hours to clear. Perhaps CX can adjust their arrival time by an hour or so to avoid the peak arrival time of many flights.
