I would like to see larger cars with more room for luggage. That’s the only concern. But, one of your professional employees made a pertinent point with respect to the small roads in Europe in general and also about the potential taxes on the vehicles that are imposed by various governments in the EU. All in all, I had no issues with the car.

Do NOT use this rental company/location. I wish I had taken the other bad reviews seriously but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and given Budget is a global company, I figured it would be fine. I booked a compact SUV for a week starting 5/30 with a pickup time of 11pm. Our flight was diverted to Nicaragua due to bad weather so we were late in landing. I was at the desk by 1:15am. While in Nicaragua, I called Budget via phone and was told that the location had been made aware of the diversion and delay and that I have 24 hours to pick up my car. I was assured that there was no issue at all in my delay. Additionally, I spoke with a chat representative online who was able to confirm with the the local team that my car would be 100% held until 2am. When I arrived at the desk, the representative told me that they had already given my car away as they waited any hour for me to arrive. I tried to explain the above and the gentlemen was completely unhelpful, only offering me a pickup truck after much back and forth. However, he was going to charge me an additional $700 for the truck. There was another passenger behind me who was also on my flight who's car had been given away as well. I eventually walked down to a different counter and was able to secure a last minute car with a lovely gentlemen. I truly encourage everyone to stay away from this place. They left me stranded at the airport at 1:30am with no options and couldn't even have bothered to apologize.

Persuaded to upgrade on arrival (I had booked the cheapest option and intended to do a fair amount of miles). Would definitely book direct next time, this was the last time via KAYAK. When my flight was delayed I contacted the number from KAYAK and they said they could do nothing, that I could miss my pick up slot and loose the car, that it might be better to cancel and rebook, but that they couldn't act on my behalf and inform SIXT at Bologna Airport. I would have to do that myself, directly with the desk. Then why bother using an agent?

There was no windshield washer fluid in the car. This should have been checked before I got the car. There was a long-ish wait to pick up my car.

Cons:

They charged is EUR 50 extra when we returned the car...apparently the guy at the drop off found a bit of dirt on the back seats...which probably came from our 6 and 4 year olds putting their shoes on the seat when climbing into the car. This was a real surprise to us, and too late for us to pass a quick hover on the seat. What a shame that they don't tell you in advance....will not go back to Hertz, never had this issue with Avis or Europcar!

This booking I made on Kayak said it was for Locauto, which is a great reputable company, but when I received the booking info from Expedia it was changed to B-Rent which is not a good reputable company and is well known for scams. Upon arriving to the B-Rent office in Catania airport, they validated they were not a good company and refused me rental as I did not present an international drivers license. I told them that the policy on the kayak and expedia paperwork I was sent said B-Rent accepts regular drivers licenses as long as it is written in English. They said they didn’t want to take the risk. B-Rent changes policies and doesn’t update the paperwork booked by renter. I am in process of getting a refund by Expedia and this was a complete disaster.

Vehicle was brand new, price was fair, pick up and drop off were relatively uncomplicated. The drop-off garage at Bologna airport is very cramped and hard to maneuver in, but it is shared by all rental companies there, so switching companies won't help. I would rent from Locauto again.

Not a long queue on getting and giving back, clean car, and fine!

Cons:

The place for putting my charger of mobile and GPS, was not working at all Also by comfort, the car was good not perfect. (I searched for a car written is good for 5 passengers, but truly it was comfortable for 4)

Car was new, no problems with the car. Service was helpful.

Cons:

Hard to find the booth for dollar. There was not a booth for dollar. Had to find out that dollar uses thrifty booth. And hertz, thrifty and dollar are the same company. The kayak website gives you an option to buy an insurance for the rental. That is not valid for the car. Wasted money. Had to buy extra insurance at the rental.

The lie of insurance, breakdown cover, exess waiver, snowchains, taxes i can go on and on!! I doubt il be using avis Italy again, it cost me 4 times the car rental in total leaving me with little spending money for my 3 day trip. Horrible experience ruined my trip. Il stick to puplic transport

Because I did not have an international drivers permit, they refused to rent me the car. So, I went to Hertz and they were happy to rent me a car without an IDP. I still need a refund… terrible that I had to spend my first day of vacation dealing with this.

It took awhile for the shuttle bus to get to the airport for pickup. My insurance provides coverage for rental cars. Unknown to me, they require a copy of my insurance policy to 'verify' that I have that coverage, or else I have to buy their insurance coverage. My flight was delayed and I got to their facility about 8pm. She said I was supposed to have picked up my car by noon and would 'have to see if they still have a car available and if they could verify that my original rental fees were still available". They decided to let me have the car. It is dark outside and they have the black vehicle out in a dark area where I am supposed to inspect it for any damage. I brought the card back in to her where I marked that I didn't see any obvious damage, but trying to see any surface scratches or scrubs was impossible. She said, 'you didn't write the mileage down''. I said the rental agency normally does that. I went back out and got the mileage. At this point I was frustrated and really needed to get on the road as I had a 1.5 hour drive to get where I had to go and be up for a very early meeting. I have never gotten a rental that didn't have a full tank of gas, EVER. About 10 minutes down the road it started to rain and I was trying to figure out the wipers. I then noticed it only had a 1/2 tank of gas!! When I got back I mentioned this to the lady behind the counter. She said it was my problem because I was supposed to inspect the car before taking it. Lesson learned when dealing with Surprice!!

They are a cut rate car rental company that operates and feel like a scam. Address is wrong, phone number is wrong, office is a pop up. They demand a HUGE deposit that is never mentioned in the prior rental agreement and claim to need 20-30 DAYS to return it. Everything is hand written on paper and it all just feels off.

The car was fine. Pickup/dropoff was a pain due to the off-airport location in a strange area. High pressure and extortionate fees (250€ per 2cm scratch) to encourage purchase of their "insurance". The insurance if purchased would have more than doubled the rental fee.

Cons:

Pickup was extremely slow. Also, even though we had pre-payed everything they still managed to find some extra fee which was deducted from my deposit.

Pros:

Short location from arrivals hall. Car upgraded at no extra cost. Car was clean and comfortable and a pleasure to drive. The directions to the Maggiore "return car" area were extremely useful. The drop off was quick and straightforward.

Cons:

Although the check-in was quite quick and the lady pleasant, she did create a bit of fear factor regarding theft and breakdown in order to sell extra insurance (we had actually taken out our own excess insurance cover).

Car was very comfortable, clean , more than enough power, pick up was sooo easy, drop off a little disappointing as there were no persons on the counter and we really wanted to know about the deposit return. In the end we had to drop the key and run for our boarding, but was sorted very easy next day by phone call.

Great car in a good condition at a great price. The “office” is quite hard to find, at the back of a car park without signage directing you to it, not accurately located on Google maps and there’s no desk in the rental terminal with the other companies. The drop-off took almost an hour because they were very short staffed (one person) and their systems do not seem exactly fluent.
