We were unable to pick up the car that we reserved because it was not available when we got there. There were no cars in our class available and their only option was to rent us a larger car for a larger price. We canceled our rental and will likely not be using Avis or kayak again. It was a very unfortunate experience.

Isak's customer service was exceptional. When I told him it was my first time driving an electric car, he told me how I could charge it. He even hotspotted his cell phone so I could use his data to download the app required to use public charging stations. Unfortunately, some of his information about charging stations was incorrect, such as every gas station has them. I went to 3 Uno-X gas stations, as recommended by him so I could use my credit card to pay instead of the app, and none of them had charging stations. It was a bit difficult for me to exit the car rental parkade and find the correct drop-off spots, but that may be due to my lack of experience with European parkades.

Had a horrible experience with Avis! First of all, because there is no office of Avis to be found at the airport (São Paulo/GRU). Turns out Avis has no office in Brazil whatsoever, but they rent out under the name of Unidas. Once we arrived at the desk of Unidas, the attendant told us that they can't accept contracts from Avis and started complaining on bad deals Avis tries to make with them. Not our problem, but in the end it turned out to be as Unidas wouldn't accept the contract we had with Avis. We had to cancel the contract, and sign a new one with Unidas for a much higher price!! But we had no other choice as it was already 2am! They should really sit together to make things right, in the end we had to spend another 200 euros on top of the 570 already spent!!

The representative at the car rental desk gave us wrong information. She told us that the price we paid at the counter included the price of the rental car. However, when I later reviewed the bill, I discovered that the price we paid at the counter was for an insurance package only, and that we were ALSO charged separately for the rental. This doubled the price, making it a disastrous purchase. I feel I was cheated into something I did not agree to.

I picked the wrong time based on incorrect recollection of when we were supposed to land, but it was required to wait until that time (two hours later) to pick up my rental. There was no previous walk around and I discovered a couple of rock strikes after I drove out of the facility. Fortunately they were rather small and there was no charge for them, but I was worried about it. Otherwise, the car I ended up with (Dodge Durango), which was not the one I reserved (Toyota Corolla), was quite satisfactory and even got respectable mileage (over 25 mpg). So I was pleased. There was a little difference in the ride, however, as the Durango is built on a truck chassis and it is a bit stiffer than a sedan.

A representative never showed up at the airport to meet me, they never tried to contact me to say there was an issue, and the phone number given never worked. I called 24 times throughout the day. I ended up renting from Europcar at the counter for three times the price. I think it's a SCAM. I was in Vienna.

I couldn’t find the location and no shuttle to the location of the car. The website description makes it seem as though it’s the airport area. It is not. Tried to call the facility but no answer. Ended up getting a rental from hertz which provides transportation to car rental area. DONT PURCHASE FROM THIS VENDER.

We had to call from the airport twice to get a pickup to the rental location which was 10 minute ride . Once there we found out that they did not recognize our insurance and I had to pay $260 for insurance . This now made my rental car more expensive than what was at the airports . Drop off went smooth , but we were dropped off at the rental location other than airport drop off for the airport .

Very bad. We paid by card $14 for two days, but when we went to get the car they ask us to pay 7 times this price plus $150 as a deposit. Why not to tell us the truth from the beginning, so we know the exact price. I am asking for paying me back the $14.

Drivalia offers cars with letter "e" in description. You don't know-it is full electric. To me it is economy. In Italy the infrastructure for electric cars is poor. Also,Drivalia uses Chinese MG small suv hybrid. This is really weird hybrid you don't want to drive. Eats lot of gas and you have to change this hybrid like full electric car. Milano int. Airport does not have good signs to get to rent garage to drop your car.

Picked up the car and it was filthy. Clearly hadn’t been cleaned since being used before. Key intermittently stopped working and were locked out of the car, when trying to open it manually, car alarm would repeatedly go off. Car was not maintained well.

We liked the good value for money, and the car itself was just what we wanted and had no issues. It was not completely clean though when we received it, nor did it come full of fuel- under half a tank. The pick up and collection from the car park was fine and very quick. It was the wait time at the drivalia desk to sign the contract and pay the deposit which took too long. We joined the queue at 10:30am and we’re not at the front until 12:00pm. We were not in a rush but other customers were as they had plans or connections to make.

Sixt charged us a premium site fee at the counter. This was in the small print (the idea of it, not the amount of it). They should put this fee in the quoted price as it was quite high and would have impacted our decision about who to rent from. Location of car return not well marked at Manchester Airport.

I hired a car to be picked up from a hire place at the local airport, phoned the airport to be told there wasn’t any cars available,took two weeks to get a refund after a lot of messing around as there’s three company’s involved,one took the booking,one took the payment and one were I was to pick the car up from,quick enough to take your money so slow sorting problems out finally got there in the end regarding a refund thanks to a lovely lady at the place were I was to pick the car up from.

Pros:

The car was brand new and ran well, getting fantastic gas mileage without being underpowered. Pickup at Liverpool Airport was extremely friendly, no upsell. I like the "fuel option," where they sell you a tank of gas but agree to cancel the sale if you bring it back full. In my case, with a very tight connection at my dropoff, I was grateful to be able to come in empty.

Cons:

Car's handbrake was not adjusted right, so that it would not hold on very steep grades.

Car was fine. Everything else was a challenge. Took waaaaay too long to get through their process. Killed half a day by the time we went to two different rental locations and got our car. Then my rental was shortened. Got the car finally at 4 pm but had to return by noon the following day. Never again!!!

Only issue was the car class I purchased was not originally provided, but the wonderful lady at check-in remedied the situation immediately. Wasn't her fault - the computer information did not match my reservation. She was great and all went seamlessly thereafter.

We got a nice van from Ace and it had everything is was supposed to, but the price didn't end up being what we were originally quoted. We expected taxes and fees, but the agent added a CDW charge when we rented it even though we said we declined insurance because our auto insurance already takes care of that. When we picked up the van, he explained they would hold our credit card number for incidentals, so I signed the paper not really knowing what the CDW charge was. Later I found out it was for daily collision protection, even though we had declined that. When I asked for the charge to be removed they told me I had to write to the manager. I wrote him twice and never even got a reply. The other negative experience we had was getting picked up by the shuttle at the Orlando airport. We were told the shuttle comes around every 25 minutes, but we waited for 70 minutes before the shuttle came, after I had called the rental office 3 times.

Car was very comfortable, clean , more than enough power, pick up was sooo easy, drop off a little disappointing as there were no persons on the counter and we really wanted to know about the deposit return. In the end we had to drop the key and run for our boarding, but was sorted very easy next day by phone call.
