The location was excellent.

Our shower was broken and after two hours they moved us to a different room after 11pm. The room we were in had been recently renovated and was a king. We were moved to an older room with two double beds.

Rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel was walking distance from places we wanted to go.

The public area of the hotel had a consistent smell. Like an old house.

The location of this hotel is good and the beds are very comfortable.

The majority of the staff were great but some were quite rude! Also, there is NO PARKING with this hotel and you are required to park in the parking garage that is behind the hotel for 16.00 per night. Will probably pick a different hotel next time.

Fantastic location. Attentive, professional front desk. Elegant lobby and rooms. Very comfortable beds. Great views being one of the tallest buildings in Charleston. Excellent value, as rooms are $50-75 less than similar properties.

Parking garage is not attached to hotel, if using self park, must walk 1/2 block. Room decor is tasteful but 20 years old and while clean, is showing it's age ( I imagine this is the reason for lower rates). Bathrooms are extremely small.

Excellent location. Clean, but an older property showing its age in some respects. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Small bathrooms. Comfortable but not luxurious. With two double beds in the room, you couldn't open the bathroom door fully. That was pretty ridiculous to have to enter sideways.

Location was good for getting around historic district; staff was very friendly

most places we stay have wifi in room at no charge; the charge here was about $15 per day; also, when we spoke to a lobby person about the restaurant where we planned to eat, he told us that it had burned, but was reopened. It was not.

This hotel is perfectly located near downtown historic Charleston. We were just minutes (walking) from the Market and shopping areas. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was excellent.

The chair in our room had a wire protruding out from the bottom, which scratched my 9 month old.... other than that, the hotel was perfect. I was able to push the wire back into place myself.

Well maintained and beautiful property. Staff was courteous and professional. Easy parking in the garage across the street and centrally located so that you can walk to many historic places downtown.

That almost everything was perfect

The couch in the living room was broken. Only access was via stairs.

Pretty much the most amazing stay you're going to get in a pay per night condo. Classy and comfortable.

There are some really good things about staying at the Society House -- but it is definitely NOT like a hotel. We were in a nicely appointed, centrally-located, large one bedroom condo with a big kitchen and two bathrooms. (NOTE: the 'pull-out bed' in the living room was old and unusable.) But this property did not have the small conveniences I have come to expect: for example, there was no coffee, no hair dryer, and no alarm clock. Also, there is no front desk and it was not easy to reach anyone for help. (Our calls were only returned the following day.) If you're staying for a week, and are willing to fend for yourself, this could be a great deal.

The experience was above & beyond my expectations. The rooms are newly renovated...beauty & comfort abounds. The staff were very kind and attentive. The free parking was a definite bonus. And, although breakfast was temporarily not available due to renovations, the staff was quick to provide other tasty options that were easily within walking distance. We will likely visit again!

Our first trip to Charleston and we are glad we chose the King Charles Inn. Clean, spacious, reasonably priced for downtown. Room was quite large as was the bathroom. Really comfortable bed. Staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. Breakfast is adequate if you don't want to go out in the morning. Many restaurants within walking distance as is the market. The free parking is a definite plus. Next trip we will be staying here again.

Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
