Staff was really nice. Comfortable bed. Clean room.
Staff was wonderful
Got room with 2 double beds, wanted 2 queen or king
The room was great for the most part, and the location was great. Close enough to the Loop that it wasn't far from our vacation activities. Security of building was also great!
Room too hot, bed had a weird tilt, front desk staff not particularly hospitable, and the parking charge for being outside of the Loop was a bit ridiculous.
Everyone was great.
Location was a bit far from downtown. Forgot to send my wake up call.
Hotel was very accomodating. we had a very wonderful stay.
The woman at the front desk gave me a bed choice upon check-in, and my king size was so comfy! They also were very helpful with getting taxis and directions. They also let me push back check out by an hour. The staff was super helfpful and friendly!
The location is a little too far out from where I wanted to be, but I knew that. Also, I didn't get my breakfast that I ordered by hanging the thing on the doorknob, but in the end, I was actually glad I didn't get it. That worked out for the best.
The staff was VERY friendly and a pleasure to work with. There is a free shuttle to different areas around the hotel (Little Italy, Greek Town, local hospitals, pink and blue line), which was a huge help! Good breakfast room service too!
There was no pool, which for that star rating and for a Marriott, is very disapointing.
-Had to pay for parking-Had to pay for internet
Location was near where I needed to be
Restaurant and Valet parking were VERY pricey
Front desk staff very helpful.
I liked the décor and the size of the room. I enjoyed the comfort of the bed, it put my body in a place of rest. The large picture window was a plus...
The chair and ottoman had a stain, I think the hotel should take care to remove stains from the furniture. I was surprised to see there was not tooth paste included. But that wasn't a big issue.
Very clean with nice rooms
Mandatory valet, for at least $50 and there was no microwave in the hotel for guests to use.
The room was neat and clean, with fridge that is a cool feature.
Hotel parking was rather pricey. But it's close to a public parking garage. Thanks to the staff who told us that option.
Front desk help was amazing, the room was nice, clean.
Location, rook restaurant was not good, food was OK if they had it. Two of things we wanted were not available. Service was not good. I had to ask for drinks and then they tried to bill us for more things then we asked for.
I loved the cleanliness of the hotel and attentiveness of the staff
The description stated rooms had microwaves. My room did not and that is why I scored it low.
Shuttle was available to take you places within a mile radius, but refused to take my husband tocDonalds because it was further. He walked instead and it was right under able. Long trip to Michigan Ave on the tram
I like the location!! It is close to every attraction in Chicago!
I hate that I had to pay for value parking to park the car in the hotel parking lot! I had to pay $40 a day for this! It is not good at all. I also don't like that internet and breakfast were not included with the rate.
My first experience was with the Valet who was very hard to understand and was to busy eating to take care of business. The check in was fine but the room was subpar. Dirty and broken lampshades, one of the bedside lamps was crackling so I turned it off
The bed is very comfortable.
The wifi fee will be directly added to your account even if you just clicked to see the instruction, and we didn't even successfully connected to any webpage. And the staff at the front desk was not really listening to us when we explain it to her.
5 miles to Mcormick place, clean, friendly staff
slamming loud door, loud water in washrooms, parking for night: 39$, I had to to go across the street to park
Everything was great. Except the parking. $39/ day was a little steep.
Parking was an unexpected problem. didn't expect to have to pay an additional $39/ day when planning this trip. Would help uf that were advertidadvertised. Might have considered a different hotel if I had of known. Hreay place if you don't have a car.
The personality of the bus driver.
Tiny room. Paper-thin walls (doors slamming all night, loud conversations), exorbitant parking prices, bar closed at 10:30 PM on a Saturday night after a Bull's game, rude manager, empty vending machine, elevator reeked of marijuana, no pool, awful view.
Restaurant is nice food and reasonable price.
Entrance parking space is too small.
Parking fee per day is extremely high, especially considering its location.
Not too spacious ,but well planned. Clean bedding.
Staff didn't accommodate our religious needs. We had to pay extra for half of the day while staying only 3 hrs longer.
The toilet seat didn't fit in the space and fell down on your back
just reminding everyone they charge the parking for $39 overnight
The hotel has nice rooms and it not too far from chicago downtown.
The staff are not very helpful. They charged $39 for parking, even though it;s outside downtown! The valet was not very helpful in picking up the car when we gave them the keys.
Ok once in room
Bad location, parking very expsensive, no shuttle. Old hotel. More of 2 star
Its location in relation to downtown, access to subway/elevated train and to the IIT campus, located south of the Loop (downtown). A short cab ride bypassing downtown traffic a BIG plus. Proximity to Taylor St and Pilsen's great eateries!
Poor acoustics in room. Door not sturdy and wall acoustics poor. The faintest noise is heard inside. Plumbing noise coming from back of sink is VERY disturbing at night! No chase? There are no blackout liners in windows. Member Wifi access is not easy!
The room was freezing with NO temperature control. The thermostat did nothing. The temperature was in the low 60s and the hotel brought up an extra blanket. There were spiders in the bathroom. Charged me for parking, even though I didn't have a car.
The hotel is just okay. It is well kept and the decor is nice and modern. The bathrooms in the rooms are a decent size but the rooms themselves are just average in size.
The beds are the smallest I have ever seen at a hotel. You need to request the queen size beds to get the standard hotel bed size, only problem is they only have a handful of these rooms. The restaurant is overpriced but its typical for any decent hotel
Mislead about location of hotel
Clean room and comfy beds
Did not inform us of paid parking until we were already charged. Also no free internet.
It was decorated nicely.
We were not happy about the fact that there was no free parking, no free breakfast, no free Internet, and we had to pay $4.00 for a bottle of water that was in the room. The ice machine was broke as well. No microwave.
room and location
the price to park o/n was almost as much as room: ---/nt is a bit out of the ordinary, especially since sign out front listed pkg. rates per hr. - which if I would've pd. only for time physically on lot would of only equated to more like $20.
It's nice and fairly modern. Even though you can tell the building itself has some history behind it.
It's rated at 3 stars. Although it's downtown they charge $40 for parking overnight. Which is probably due to the small amount of space. We were put in a handicapped which we didn't ask for. We didn't notice until we unpacked and didn't want to change
Close to the blue line.
Had to pay for Internet. They tried to give my guest and myself a room with 1 double bed, I had to argue to move to a room with a king bed. Valet was over priced, and useless. Thin walls.
The price was initially good, but the fact that we were never told about the charge for parking made it more expensive than what we wanted to spend. Not happy at all.
The room was supposed to include ALL taxes and fees. When we arrived, we were never told that there was a $39 charge per day to park our vehicle..we were not told until we checked out that we had to pay it. I was very displeased and felt bait and switched
Great location just outside the city but close to expressway
Staff very unfriendly and walls were paper thin. You could hear everything in the hallways
the shower head ...the dry cleaning
no pool .no parking .the security guard that came to my room and said that i was beating my girlfriend and wouldn't leave for 30 minuets even after we answered the door laughing and told him no 500 times..no mini bar ...nothing ...it was just a bed
parking is way too expensive
I am very angry about Priceline and this hotel. I prepaid my room only to find that the room was overbooked. I was sent to another hotel 30 miles away, but then that hotel ( fairfield marriott)couldn't accept me because they couldn't get payment from Marriott. I was sent back to Marriott in the middle of night in an unfamiliar city. Then I was sent to another hotel( south loop Chicago). Finally I had a room to stay but I was exhausted. I called Priceline but nobody was helping. I just want to ask how can you send away a customer who prepaid the hotel room? I totally lost trust of Priceline and Marriott. I will not do any business with you guys again. And I will tell everybody I know about my bad experience. I will also publish my experience in all kinds of travel websites and review websites and blogs so that more people will know it.
The bed was very comfortable
- $14/day for internet just plain greedy! - $4 bottle of water in the room also just plain greedy! - Poor location - No convenient stairs. - Only one elevator due to the other one being out of service. - A/C wouldn't cool the room even in cool weath
was surprised by paying the $30 for parking; but the accomodations were good.
I liked the hotel but thought it was a little pricey. We stayed there because it was very convenient to relatives living nearby. At times, it was noisy because they were building a large medical building across the street. The staff was very nice and the rooms were lovely.
I had an enjoyable stay. I would recomend this hotel.
Really nice, clean rooms and reasonably pleasant, helpful staff. Our only complaints were the high cost of parking/valet service (there is no self-park option) and the expensive breakfast/room service costs (there is no complimentary breakfast). We literally spent more on parking & a couple of meals than on our 3 day room reservation. If you don't bring breakfast foods with you (be aware though, that there is no fridge or microwave) your only options are the hotel restaurant/room service (good food, but VERY expensive), the 7-Eleven a few blocks away or the McDonalds a couple of miles away. But beware: this is a high crime area and it's not safe to walk anywhere, even in the daylight. The hotel property itself, however, seems very safe. Overall, we would stay there again, but would bring a cooler & lots of food with us & would try not to have to park a car there.
This lovely hotel was nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood near the University Medical Center. The stafff was very accommodating, and the room was nicely decorated with upscale furnishings.Comfortable beds with cushy mattress pads and crisp linens. An amazing number of outlets for charging ALL of your electronic devices. My only complaint was the $* fee for parking. Ridiculous, but not uncommon in Chicago. The room rate was reasonable, but if you have a car, you have to figure in the additional cost.
My husband and I booked our reservations at the last minute after having bought tickets to an Illinois game at the United Center. We wanted something fairly close to the United Center. This hotel came up on most of our searches. We were a bit disappointed that we could not walk (we told by staff that the area near the Center was a bit unsafe). However, the Marriott had a wonderful shuttle service. The guys driving the shuttle we so accomodating and always on time to pick us up once we called. They were friendly and gave us some good advice on places to eat. The staff overall was ver friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. We would definately stay at this hotel again if we were attending anything on the campus of UIC or at the United Center.
This hotel was booked because it was near my conference at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The university and entire medical complex are huge and extend several blocks. The area looks new and is very well kept. We loved walking along the tree lined streets of Little Italy, only three blocks away. Pompeii, Rosebud and Franscesca's are great restaurants. Hotel staff were extremely accomodating--front desk staff gave us information about a wide variety of places for wine and Chicago places to see. The bartender let us borrow a wine opener we used for an after meeting gathering. The shuttle worked well and was free. On a busy weekend we needed a cab to go to Union Station. The shuttle driver thought it might take too long to get a cab, so he drove us all the way downtown himself. Great service!
Nice hotel with good proximity to the United Center - but don't count on their shuttle service. Was stranded for over 2 hrs at the United Center waiting for their shuttle service only to be told that their shuttle ends at 10:30 p.m. Why bother?!
