The hotel is owned by the 6th generation of the schaefer family. Peter schaefer i. Was a cooper, distiller, and brewer by trade. He came to ginsheim while travelling and marned anna-katharina laubenheimer there. In 1813, he laid the foundation stone to a property, used as both a farm and an inn, which still stands today. Planning, prudence, and persistance, enabled every generation to expland the business further. In 1878, the dancing hall(today the "old rhine" banquet hall) was added. hotel.de
