We stayed at Adrift with our 2 children aged 3 and 7 for just one night however we were in Long Beach for 2 full days. We arrived early the first day to check in and although I was told the room wouldn't be ready for a little while, I was told I was welcome to the amenities offered in the lobby and "Pickled Fish" which is the restaurant upstairs. There are many options for amenities here and many are fun and free! We had to option to borrow bicycles (although not child size so this is an adult only option), borrow dvds, board games, or puzzles, or get some coffee, tea, ice waters (flavored with orange slices or lime slices when we were there!). They also had a small snack/boutique area in which we had the ability to purchase some of the amazing soaps and lotions that they offer in the rooms, snacks, and if on a romantic evening some lovely wines. Oh, and we were also informed they have a ping pong table and another table game upstairs from the lobby that we could use if we wished. We also noticed they have pet friendly rooms. Our TV was small but really...we were at the beach and although our view was somewhat obstructed by the parking lot, it was still a beautiful view of the beach. They recycle! They provide a list of amenities and guidelines in the rooms so that you know what is offered and what to expect if you decide you like the amazing soaps and take them from the room vs purchasing them from the lobby. I made sure to buy some from the lobby :) Overall, for the price this hotel was well worth it.
The original key that we received for our room did not appear to work, however when I spoke with staff they stated that I may need to "jiggle it and treat the door roughly sort of like an old door or lock" I think this was the only frustrating aspect of the hotel because when you are carrying a arms full of stuff from kids or clamming, you don't really want to have to mess with the door in this way.
