Of course, the only two good things about the hotel are the location and the price. Other than that, not so much.
The heater did not work, the phone did not work and the refrigerator never cooled our items. Bring your own space heater or you will freeze to death. All I can say is bring your own phone, refrigerator and space heater because none in my room worked at all. It was a place to store our stuff and to lay our heads down at night and that is it. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Most of the time, there was no one at the front desk. Ring the bell over and over and still no staff. You are kind of left to fend for yourself at this place. The best thing about it is the location, it's near the Muni, just right outside and of course, the price. Other than that, be prepared.
very awesome staff and conveniently located for my needs
For not much money you get a room in San Francisco right by the beach. Could it be a nicer room? Sure. Could it be closer to tourist attractions? Sure. But for the price you can't beat it. I'll be back.
This isn't a particularly welcoming place. A 'no refunds' sign is the biggest of many notices on the thick glass window at the front desk. They charge your credit card at check-in. This isn't a 'bad' area, but I guess they've had their problems. The good news is that the Judah N trains stop right at the hotel. When you depart for downtown, you're assured of a seat. The bad news is that the Judah N trains stop right at the hotel. They're electric, so there's no engine noise or pollution, but when a multi-ton vehicle pulls up right outside your window, you know it. This goes on every 15 minutes or so until quite late. That, plus the hour it takes for that train to get to the 'tourist' part of San Francisco are the drawbacks to this hotel. I can live w...
It was close to where I had to go.
There was no towel rack. There was no 'anti-slip' strips on the shower floor. There was no place to put a bar of soap or shampoo tray in the shower stall.
The room was clean, bed was comfy, quiet setting, checking in and out was quick.
Parking was horrible, and the room had a strong odor of curry, not a smell I enjoyed. No view.
First impression walking up to my room: 'This could be scary.' Inside was like a Hilton Express. This space is all about location and the price is a steal for the area. Right across from the beach, close to golden gate park, front door light rail acces
Parking is tight but this is a Herb Caen neighborhood with a kicking corner cafe. Park as the signs indicate and you will be okay (I had a dualie with kennels and it was surprisingly easy).Got there after midnite so the night window was the way to go. Buzzed four times then called on my cellular telephone. The attendant answered the telephone right away and was helping me a short time later.
great places to eat nearby
Our car was broken intoI would not stay hear again
Not at all!
Every thing is so dirty... And there is lots of noise...It's a awful hotel...don't stay here!!
it is only a few minutes away from twin peaks, and about 30 mins from the wharf. the room was very nice and clean despite what the outside looked like.
i really didnt like the area the motel was located and parking was cramped.
Compared to other hotels it was definitely an awesome deal! Literally across the street from the beach and close to the highways so did not have to sit in traffic to get out of the city. Good little place near china-town.
The hotel desk staff was never there. Only saw them when got my key, but they did give me all the information i needed. Did not like that i had to just leave my key at the counter for check out though. This was a last minute trip for me and this hotel is a winner in my book. It is super cheap for San Fran and nice compared to others charging the same or more for far less space and cleanliness and in a good location, across street from the beach (walking distance) and right off golden gate bridge plus next to Golden gate park. The room was very nice! two queen beds and a couch that pulled out into a bed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to san fran. Since it was close to the bridge we were able to drive out to wal...
