It was a place to lay your head
Old rustic facility historic not of my liking
The bed was comfortable
Very small bathroom. Parking should be included in your stay.
Excellent staff--each encounter with staff was pleasant, all were effective in their work. The hotel is well appointed in the lobby and rooms, with pleasant decor and comfortable surroundings. All items in the room worked well, in good order, and well maintained.
The heating-cooling system in the hotel can only provide heat or cooling: one or the other at a time but not the option of both. On a warm day, if air conditioning is desired but the system is providing heat, air conditioning is not available. This is common in many hotel properties. Staff provided portable fans which were effective. This is the only reason for a 4 star rating for Comfort, in every other respect this hotel is most comfortable and enjoyable.
Great location when arriving by train and good walking distance to almost everything in downtown Seattle. A quiet downtown location. Staff are extremely helpful and happy to do their jobs well. Overall, a very good value in a downtown hotel!
Our room was a little small - especially the bathroom. A/C didn't work. This wasn't a problem because it was cool outside but would have been a problem a month earlier.
Downtown location, friendly staff
Facilities are a bit dated and the rooms compact
The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly.
Room and bathroom were small
The attached breakfast place and attached restaurant were great.
We couldn't get a room with a single king sized bed for myself and my wife, but got a room with 2 tiny beds. Also the water pressure was very low on the top floor.
Right in the heart of downtown seattle
Rooms looked nothing like the pictures, staff kept assuming my friend and I were gay and when we asked for suggestions they always said "there's gay bars here, etc", the toilet is literally next to the wall so you have to sit sideways on it, was all around an uncomfortable experience and would rather pay less money for a better stay at best western
Walking distance to pikes place and the shopping center. That was nice.
We were first put into a room that hadn't been cleaned from its last occupants. Also, over $200 a night for this place?! Might as well find the nearest Best Western. The rooms didn't even have a fridge!
I love how close this place is to the waterfront and Pike Street.
The price was pretty high for the dated rooms, the staff made it worth while though, WONDERFUL people.
Small but comfortable rooms. Good location to visit the Market or Pioneer Square and the stadiums. Great valet. Friendly staff. Lodge restaurant.
Stanley Davis (concierge?) was very friendly & helpful. He gave us tips to make the most of our stay. Great location.
The bathtub leaked all over the floor after we showered. We called the front desk to send someone to fix it but it wasn't fixed. Maintenance guy said he couldn't do anything about it. 3 days of that... not too thrilled. The toilet clogged the last night & we called to get that fixed but no one ever came.
Close to the waterfront and easy access to pike place
Parking is forty a day and fan didnt work at all in room the windows were broken so couldnt open then
central location in the business district.
However, the skeleton of the hotel is very old: cramped bathroom with new but I'll-fitting equipment (the lid on the toilet would not close, for instance) cheap windows, a dingy carpet, and paper thin walls.
Price was right, location was good, 25 minute walk toward seattle center, 10 minute walk to public market, other hotels around there were asking more than $200 per night, this was definitely a good deal. Parking is hard to find, $29 for valet seems like a deal. If I came back to seattle, I would stay there again.
Bathroom seemed more remodeled than the rest of the room, which is good, but didn't have an exhaust fan, which I didn't understand, A/C I think worked, opening the window worked a lot better, Rooms seemed really small for two beds.
The location was withing walking distance of major tourist attractions and public transportation. The beds were comfortable.
The room was small and the building was very old. The street sounds and the rooms around us were very loud at night.
The location was really central. My boyfriend and I drove up to Seattle for a brief weekend and were so happy with the price, location, cleanliness and comfort for our budget. We both agreed that we would come back for another quickly escape.
Staff was very friendly! We've stayed here several times, normally great value.
No air conditioning in the room, so the room got very uncomfortable. Beds are to short.
Valet parking full. Had to pay $37 to park in garage. No view of anything worth while
location price staff
excessive wait for elevators
