We were only there for one night. It was a nice hotel and clean.
We couldn't upgrade to different bed arrangements or get a higher floor so we didn't have any kind of view. The room was very small, but fine for one night. Wouldn't have stayed there for more than a weekend.
I enjoyed everything that the hotel had to offer

Good location, clean, great staff
Rooms were way to small
The lobby is elegant and there is nice outdoor space near the lounge. Front desk staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The room was charming and met our needs.

Very clean, and nice rooms
No room service, spartan amenities, business oriented hotel
Check-in/Check-out receptionists are extremely rude and unhelpful. I spoke with 2 receptionists before and after check-in/check-out and they were both dismissive to my questions refusing to answer simple questions like where can I find certain amenities. One of the female receptionists had the audacity to tell me to go online and look up amenities and services the hotel offers! What is the hotel hiring these clowns for, just to simply run your credit card and give you your room key. No skills in customer service and proper human interaction for that matter. I will not be staying at this hotel again if they continue to hire incompetent staff. This is unacceptable in the industry, especially for the location. The area and it's visitors are wealthy high class people, so to be treated with such low class service is s disgrace. I will be telling all of my business contacts to go elsewhere. Sorry, but instead of losing just 1 customer, you've now lost about 20 that I would've referred to you, but I will be making sure none of my close business contacts frequent your god-awful hotel because of your disgraceful receptionists.

The rooms were dingy. The service was awful. We paid over $500 for the room and we didn't get what we paid for - Queen bed. They first tried to put us in a full bed room and then we had to go downstairs and complain. The rooms looked much better on the site than in "really life". The beds were gross with the blue comforter. The only thing that was nice was the tiny bathroom. I wouldn't stay here again.

Very good location. Just a block away from subway and lots of little shops to get something to eat or do a little shopping. Very clean room, well furnished and very clean. Bathroom was huge!
I asked for a car service and got a driver that drove way too fast and just wasn't very professional. Not the hotels fault but it was scary.
The stay was excellent and the staff was always very helpful and attentive to my friends and my needs. The location was very good and there is a 24hr market just around the corner.
I didn't like that I had to leave aside from that my stay was exquisite I highly recommend this hotel

The Waldorf-Astoria was everything I expected it to be -- old fashioned elegance with modern amenities and the most attentive staff, from the valets to the front desk to the concierge to the housekeepers in the hallways. Everyone was wonderful. The location was great -- a few short blocks from Rockefellor Center and St. Patrick's and Grand Central and Central Park. I've had family and friends recommend the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, but I definitely preferred the location on Park Avenue -- bagels and coffee and slices of pizza and formal dining of all kinds all within a block or two on the east side. Just perfect.
The air conditioning could have been a little crisper. It felt like it wasn't taking all the humidity out of the air. (Our sheets felt damp. Cool, but damp.) Other than that, I loved every bit of our stay.
Old, dated hotel. Rooms are a bit dumpy. Staff is not friendly

It was one of the worst hotels that I have ever been. Dirty, noisy, and extremely bad service. When I arrived the service was very bad, the room was not cleaned (it even had part of nails in the floor), the shower was rusted (it was disgusting) and it had hairs in the tub... I asked for a room change and they gave me another room that it was as bad as the other one. I was extremely disappointed and I will never come back to that hotel.
The Location, because is close to everything
There was one Employee, especifically on the booth that you ask for directions and buy tickets for Shows concerts etc that was very rude. We ask for some opinions and all she said thay she couldnt tell us nothing. For me she was very rude, also an Old lady came to the lobby and she was about to cry because she was lost, and this employee or receptionist didnt try to help her. I felt so bad for her that we call a taxi and tried to help her.

Staff was wonderful, interior was beautiful, rooms where very comfortable, entire experience made for quite a romantic stay.
Rooftop bar wasn't as great as I'd hoped. The design was trendy, but the clientele was decidedly not. Fortunately, the hotel is in a great area with plenty else to do nearby.

Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee.
Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.
Noise from nearby club was very present in the room every night until 2AM
