It is on emerald beach, doesnt get better! Right next to the airport but the noise (Didn't happen often) is worth the view in this paradise!

Beware of taxi drivers, some like to over charge. 5-10 $ per person is the most we paid, depends where you are going.

The room location was great! Havana blue restaurant was beautiful and fit for foodies

Have stayed many time at this hotel. Like the renovations. Wish they would keep the pumps turned on for the infinity pools.

The location was fantastic. The amenities of the pools and beaches, excellent views, and varied restaurants were all a huge advantage.

The restaurant by the pool is nothing special, and overall, the food is very expensive. Even the marketplace items were a little over-priced for my expectations. Check-in and out was very slow.

I just returned home from a seven day stay at this resort --It was a fabulous vacation--the closeness of the beach (Megans Bay walking distance) the cleanliness of the resort --the staff --day trips--the spa--the pool-- all top notch I will definately be a return guest. The little general store there just opened on Friday and I was impressed with the owner and the stock --I found member services helpful, accessable, and friendly the front desk crew was also top notch as was the housekeeping staff. They have a spa on site which has just about everything you could want from a spa. The tennis courts were open and the pool was absolutely grand! I would reccomend this resort to anyone who loves the water and all the activities it offers.

Rooms are large and doors are raised off the floor to help keep crawling bugs out. The lady in charge of activities at the pool had a lot of energy.

The music at the pool and in the late night restaurant was a little too loud at times. I like to be able to hear and talk with my friends when hanging out.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff made our stay much more rewarding as they offered tips of places and how to get to them.

I guess they are renovating the rooms which is fine, but on the last two days of our stay they began work a bit early like at before 8am and woke us up with the noise.

It's a gorgeous place, huge and full of activities everyday. they truly make you feel at home. the bellboys wouldn't let us get on their shuttles by ourselves, they always offered help, saying, you are here to relax, let me do the work for you. let me help you!... that would just make may day everyday!

It had been recently remodeled and was very nice for the price. Loved it and the bar, pool and had use of the Emerald Resort across the bay. Was given an upgrade to an ocean front room and do not believe I would have liked the non-ocean rooms.

Still being remodeled, phone did not work in rm, what little hot water we had was gone by 8 AM. Tall outdoor stairs to haul luggage up and down. Elevator or bell hop would have been nice option. Shuttle to Emerald Resort broke. Still loved the place!

Overall great place for the price, had great time, great restaurant meal, great bartender, pool was nice and man made beach was good. Had nice romantic get away. Only wish we had more hot water and phone would have worked so that I did not have to walk to the front desk to ask a question but it was not a big deal. A/C was great and cold, never turned on TV but it was a new LCD. Airport is next door but flights shut down at 11 except for emergencies but the...

Nothing at all! There was nothing to like: the pool was dirty, the food listen on the menu wasn't in stock, the water smelled and looked brown, the towels smelled dirty, the room floor was dirty my white socks looked black.

Everything, the bathroom towels smelled dirty and the water looked brown. The water wasn't hot barely room temperature. The room floor was dirty and the beds were small. The pool was dirty.

It was a horrible experience. The room, the service, the food, and the location didn't meet my expectations. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The service and beauty of the resort

Location

It was a beautiful hotel with well maintained gardens. The location is not ideal as one must have a rental car or taxi to go anywhere off the property.

The additional amenities, fitness classes, staff, beachfront.

Mandatory $55 resort fee each night when we were essentially only there 1 day - the resort fee was $55 each night + an additional $14 on the day we left (at 7am). We were never able to access the shops at all because of their business hours.

The staff was nice. Food was okay, I didn't think it was worthy of all the praise from previous reviews. Iggies live music on the beach was the highlight.

Rooms were old but that was expected from reviews. Pool was small but who goes to the usvi for a pool? Shower was small but it worked and there was hot water, if you are a larger person the shower size could be an issue.

We stayed around the hotel for the first day of 7. The other days we used it as a home base spending most of our time on day trips to St. John (AMAZING) and st. Croix. Coming back in the evening and getting a drink and music at iggies was a great way to wind down. We are definitely coming back to usvi but will staying on St. John for our next trip. I'd also recommend renting a car if you want to do a lot. We were constantly on the move and the taxis got expensive fast. From bolongo if you want to go anywhere it's usually around $15-$20 with tip each way for two. We got a car on s...

Staff was very friendly. Location was good. We like being close to Red Hook. We liked the use of water sport goods and Iggies bar.

We did have an issue with the A/C but the staff was good about fixing it. I beach was nice and sandy but once you got into the water the surface was very rocky. I don't think the snorkeling was as good as I expected.

I would recommend it. Very laid back.

So, I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this in hopes of saving someone else the money/headache. I had a destination wedding of about 15 people at Caneel Bay (at Turtle Bay) in August 2013 and the service was shockingly terrible. My previous experience with Rosewood (and the amount of money I was spending) led me to believe that it would be upscale/nice but instead, the staff was rude, lazy, and honestly, kind of mean. And- note that most of the rooms do not have phones in them, which causes a myriad of issues (for example the night before my wedding we wanted room service so my fiance had to walk around the resort searching for a 'phone station' to call in our order). Although we asked (and offered to pay more for) a large/nice room (because the bridesmaids would be getting ready there), we were put in a tiny room with no phone. Finally, after asking twice more once we got there, we were switched to a larger room (after being treated like they were doing us a favor and a...

My husband and I plan a get-a -way each year for our anniversary. We chose Caneel Bay Resort because it was steps away from the ocean waters. We like no phones, internet, or out side world. Or room had a fantastic view with warm breezes blowing through our room, with the sound of the ocean waves. We stayed in Hawks Nest which is breezier than the otherbeaches at Caneel Bay. It had excellent snorkeling. We always found sea turtles to swim with, sting rays, starfish, and many fish! The food was extremely expensive! A fish and chips dinner at the beachside bar and grill was $65.00, without drinks or dessert.! Service was horrible. There was none. We left no tip, because we had no known waiter that greeted us, took our order, or even removed a menu from our table after we gave our own order. The Sugar Mill Restaurant was good service and food was exceptional. Again dinner on the average with no drinks or dessert will run you between $85.00-$120.00. Brunch that was offered each morning was...

I'm an owner and spent my 3rd week here at the end of October. The rooms are very nice. We have a 2 bedroom, both of which are roomy with adjacent bathrooms and balconies. The Living Room/Dining Room/Kitchen are in the middle of the unit, providing additional privacy between the bedrooms if needed. I do recommend renting a car. I had no problem with driving on the left side (just remember to stay close to the left side of the road). The steering wheel is situated as in mainland US. There are plenty of taxis to get you where you want to go, but a car may be more economical. We paid $80 in taxi fees for 4 people to go out to dinner. We only did it so we didn't have to be concerned if we drank. The beach at the Cove is nice, but you need to be careful of sea urchins. To the right of the dock, there are rocks near the beach that you need to get over to get to where it's sandy under the water. This is where I had an encounter with a sea urchin. It's sandier on the left side of the dock. ...

Stayed in Nov of 2009.The setting is beautiful and the villas are exceptional. Well equiped and spacious. Food is very expensive but with the kitchenette we were able to fix some meals in the room. The location is secluded and private but that can also be a problem with transportation. Suggest renting a car but be prepared to drive on the left side. With it being still under construction going back and forth to the hotel will be more converient in days to come. There will be carts to transport guests. In some of the eateries the menus were very limited but the portions were huge and very tasty. We will definitely go back.

The Hospitality and friendliness of the people and the staff.

The rooms were clean, but not enough items for like coffee, or making coffee , they had coffee makers, but no filters, or coffee packets in the rooms.

The site is a bit off the main roads, but the view was very nice. Office hours were 9 to 12am, however, to get assistance in the mornings sometimes not available. The motel says continental breakfast, the office where it was suppose to me I only seen it open for breakfast once. Pool was dirty and the walkways where tile and slippery you have to be careful going down to the lower rooms. You could get hurt if you are not careful.

Basically hotel was less than anticipated. We know what a 2 star hotel is but this shouldn't be rated that high.

photos are very misleading. In poor general condition, in definite need of repair. No bedding for 2nd bed. (shouldn't have to call for bedding)

Basically we knew the availability in Charlotte Amalie was tight do to Carnival and it drives prices up. However, this xxx room should never exceed xxx, even in the Caribbean.

Location, location, location...the view was Awesome. Like that I was disturbed by room service everyday but had everything I needed on hand.

The Cable\Dish service was horrible, kept going out for 3days straight. The fixtures in the bathroom need to be replaced, the almost came off in my hand. The screen door ripped need to be repaired and service hard to close and open.

I enjoyed staying at Blue Beards
