From the sloping Northern hills of Filopappau and Sikelia to Phaleron Bay in the South, Kallithea deserves its name which in Greek translates as 'the best view.' Those on Kallithea holidays can have fun discovering the secluded little coves that can be found up and down the rocky coast. These little bays are commonly guarded by tall pine trees and there are sculptured rock shelves for the more courageous to dive off. Somewhere in the Kallithea region lay the ancient town of Xypete, mentioned by Plato in his Dialogues. Although these remains cannot be found, there are other architectural structures from Ancient Greece to explore and learn about.
